My rating: 4 of 5 stars

SAFE HARBOR (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 5) by Valerie is a crime story and once again Logan finds herself embroiled in trouble. The story is both heart warming and heart wrenching at the same time. Being the fifth book in the series we have learned a lot about Logan McKenna but in this book she will have to dig deep and take a look at herself and her past. One thing we definitely know is that Logan’s curiosity and her need to solve a riddle or puzzle will ultimately get her into danger.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give A Beach Wedding To Die For (Cozy Mysteries To Die For Book 2) by Judy Moore, 4 stars.

Beck is back again with another murder mystery on her hands. This is a great addition to the series and has all of the fun characters you remember from book one, with a few new ones thrown in. While it is set in the same town, it is different enough to make it feel like something new and fresh, not the same story rehashed. This really is such a fun cozy mystery and I could not put it down, guessing whodunit until the end.

If you are a fan of cozy mysteries set in a beach town location with great characters, this book and series is for you.

A Beach Wedding To Die For (Cozy Mysteries To Die For Book 2) by Judy Moore – Review by Jennifer Gordon

A Beach Wedding To Die ForA Beach Wedding To Die For by Judy Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

‘A Beach Wedding To Die For’, is the second book in author Judy Moore’s ‘Cozy Mysteries To Die For’ series, although each book can be read as a standalone story the main characters do crossover. Having read and enjoyed ‘A Book Signing To Die For’ previously I was looking forward to this next instalment and was not disappointed. Back with what feels like old friends, are main characters Beck O’Rourke, her grandmother, Miss Alice, and Beck’s younger sister and lifeguard Lizzie. Beck owns ‘Beach Reads’ a bookstore and coffee shop which is also a gathering place for locals and tourists. The story is set set near the ocean in Manatee Beach, Florida and the trio who also live above the bookshop have another mystery to solve, and this time the action is happening at a wedding on the beach. When Beck’s is asked to be a bridesmaid for an old school friend she does not think she will be using her new found detective skills but when the jilted grooms from the brides first two weddings show up at her beach wedding to her latest groom their will definitely be trouble. When a murder takes place amateur sleuth Beck’s investigates but she keeps “butting heads” with the very handsome Devon Mathis, a Manatee Beach Police Department detective.
I was hooked from page one of this cozy mystery crime drama and found myself reading late into the night, always a sign of a great book for me. The storyline is fairly fast paced and flows well and the clear narrative makes it an easy read. The plot has plenty of twist and turns in it that it kept me guessing until the end. I felt completely immersed in this story as the author really makes the wonderful characters and the setting come alive. I love the mix of well defined, likeable and relatable characters in Beck’s, Lizzie and Miss Alice who along with Devon all add something different to the story. I enjoyed following Beck’s as she investigated the case and I thought ‘A Beach Wedding To Die For’ was a well written, enjoyable and engaging novel. I look forward to future books in this series.

A Beach Wedding To Die ForA Beach Wedding To Die For by Judy Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Beach Wedding To Die For is book two in the Cosy Mysteries To Die For series by Judy Moore. Despite being the second book in the series, this book is more than suitable to be read as a stand-alone.
This series follows Beck, her sister Lizzie and their grandmother Miss Alice. Together they run and own a bookshop/coffee shop and live above the shop. After sharpening her detective skills in the first book Beck gets further opportunities to solve a mystery! She also keeps running into handsome, actual detective, Devon…who doesn’t always appreciate her helpful meddling.
I love the family feel that this series has, it really helps to enhance the cosiness of the cosy mystery. This story has a surprising amount of twists and turns and was more unpredictable than I first anticipated, which made it even more enjoyable.
A nice easy read that I would definitely recommend.

A Beach Wedding to Die For by Judy Moore is the second book in the Cozy Mysteries to Die For series. The book takes place in Manatee Beach, Florida and we get to see Beck back in action solving a mystery. This is a delightful book to get away from all the stress of the world. Beck is a determined and smart young lady who likes to keep the local police detective on his toes while murder is being solved. I love the small-town setting and that Beck with her younger sister and grandma owns the local bookstore. The characters which repeat from story to story help guide the setting and the mood while a mystery is underfoot. I’m not going to say much about the story because I would hate to give anything away. Just know that if you are needing a quick, light getaway this is a fun read and growing series. I look forward to more mystery-solving with Beck in the future.

I loved this book. This is the second in the Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. Beck is the most awesome character. I fell even more in love with her during this book and CAN NOT WAIT for the next installment. Lizzie is an amazing young woman and I just know she’ll be great to get to know more about as well. Also- if every book had a Miss Alice my life would be complete haha. If someone were to ask what my style of book is- basically it’s this. I loved it so much and absolutely recommend it.

What happens when you are third time lucky in love, Beck is about to find out with her friend’s wedding.

We are back in the Beach Reads Bookstore with Miss Alice, Beck and her sister Lizzie but what will happen thing time to the trio. This mystery follows Beck’s Friend, Amilea who has decided that this is the one man and that she wants to get married, the only problem this is her third try as her other grooms she has abandoned at the altar and Beck is hoping this time the right one.

This story brings us back into the world and mind of Beck, with her detective skills in full mode will she be able to find out what has happen, the only thing is that she keeps running into the handsome detective Devon Mathis and that the more she see him the more the attraction is building.

This is the second book in this series and I really love the secondary characters like Miss Alice, she is funny and the banter between them in brilliant. The story is well developed and with the twists and turns in the book will have you turning the pages to see what happens next. Although the story can be read as a standalone story, the first book builds some of the relationships which are developed even more within this story. I recommend this book as its easy to read and a great mystery.

Beck is back with her granny and sister Lizzie. This book is full of mystery that keeps you guessing right to the end. I love this author’s writing. The characters are great with a strong female lead.

Beck and family are at the wedding of Becks old school friend Amelia. However this isn’t an ordinary wedding. This is wedding number 3 for Amelia after she ditched her first two fiancé’s at the alter will she actually go through with this. Is it really 3rd time lucky.

When Amelia then turns up dead questions are asked and everyone’s a suspect, including the two jilted ex’s  who turn up to her wedding. But they aren’t the only suspects, with trouble in both Amelia’s family and also her new husband’s family could the murderer be someone closer to home.

Beck and her family turn their hand to being detectives again to try and solve this case and solve who committed the crime. The outcome will shock and surprise you.

A Beach Wedding to Die for by Judy Moore a five-star read that will keep you guessing. This is fun and will keep you on the edge of your seat, I loved a book signing to die for, so was excited to get back to Manatee Beach, and well this one made me smile just as much. I get beck so much, the dresses, the bridzillas, the cake, hell I hate weddings so much I had three people at mine. The characters in this story are fab, they all have depth to them and make this a compelling story, each time you think you know someone, they do something that keeps you on your toes, honestly I don’t want to say anything about this story as I don’t want to give any hints to this story as it will blow you away.

It was great to be able to pick up this book and get back to the characters of Beck and her grandmother. They were such fun to read about in book 1 and just the same in this one. As with the first this is a great example of a whodunit story – it was fun trying to work out who I thought was the one!
This book was well written and exciting to read. It won’t me guessing throughout and even then I didn’t see the ending coming. It is a brilliant book and one I would highly recommend!

I loved reading the book Scepter of Flint (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 3) by N.L. Holmes. It is the next story in a series that I have loved since reading the first book. It takes you back to another time and country. I am impressed by the information given about both the time that the characters live in as well as the current events that happen as well. In this story Hani finds himself trying to find out the truth behind a series of tomb robberies. He has to be careful of who he trusts as well as dodging a plague. I love the character of Lord Hani as he is a man who believes in justice and doesn’t want to see anyone unfairly charged. He also has the help of those he cares about and those that he knows he can trust. This is another fast-paced book that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Many of the additional characters have been brought forward from the first two books and I enjoy reading about the changes to their lives. There are suspenseful moments as well as sad moments. Don’t miss out on an exciting and entertaining story that you will not want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

I can always count on a fun adventure when I open a book by Judy Moore. This book is the second in her Cozy Mysteries To Die For series. I was excited to see what adventures our characters would take us on this time. This time we find Beck O’Rourke a bridesmaid in the questionable wedding of her best friend. This is the third time Beck finds herself in this situation with the same bride! She is tasked with keeping the ex’s calm and collected throughout the wedding. I loved how much I found myself giggling and enjoying this read. It is a thriller type mystery novel with plenty of intrigue to keep you guessing but it also reads light and airy and felt like a small getaway to Florida. I look forward to seeing what we will get next in the series!

To read a book by N.L. Holmes is pure pleasure. The Queen’s Dog (An Empire at Twilight Novel) fully lives up to that expectation. Although this one is a little different than her mysteries it did not disappoint. Her use of language always evokes the very picture she is trying to awake in the readers’ mind. History lover that I am, I am always delighted to read wonderful stories set in the ancient world. This is a story that should make you challenge what you think about yourself. Frequently we think a great many things about ourselves that isn’t necessarily true. Many times, when push comes to shove, the rosy picture that we paint of our character doesn’t hold water. This one is a thinker.

The Queen's DogThe Queen’s Dog by N.L. Holmes

‘The Queen’s Dog’ is another gripping and engaging historical crime novel by N.L. Holmes in her ‘An Empire at Twilight’ series. Set in the Syrian kingdom of Ugarit during the Bronze Age, Naheshi a eunuch slave falls in love with his Queen. Sadly for Naheshi he mistakenly thinks that his mistress, the Queen also loves him and so avoids spying on her when told to even under the threat of punishment. However when he realises that his mistress does not care for him at all he then does report all of her disloyal activities believing that the worse that will happen to her is a royal divorce. When her sentence of divorce turns into an execution Naheshi suffers with a guilty conscience and so vows to avenge his Queen and in doing so rid himself of his own guilt. This is obviously a well researched novel and it is wonderfully written in away which brings the time period and setting alive for the reader. I found the historical notes at the beginning of the book fascinating and the maps, glossary of names and terms and the genealogy of the royal characters were very helpful and I did refer back to them whilst reading. The storyline is fast paced and the plot twists kept me hooked from beginning to the end. The story is told by the main character, Naheshi‘s point of view and so we get to know him very well and I thought he was a well defined character who I could picture as I was reading the novel. This was an enjoyable read and I would recommend this novel which although part of a series can be read as a standalone story.
