I love a good thriller and it feels like forever since one hooked me like this one did! This book is pack with everything that you would want in any book! Action, suspense, and drama were all paced into this story. The one thing I do love is the secondary characters that David Stever writes. They always bring a new dimension to the story!
Johnny Delarosa is back at it again with an infidelity case, because cheating spouses pay the bills, but what he thinks is another classic boring case turns into something WAY more. This is one of those books you just want to dive into without too much information and let it suck you in! This book was the perfect binge read and I cannot wait for more!

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Series by David Stever is the second book in The Delarosa Series. If you are a fan of a good crime story this will not disappoint you. Delarosa is a detective who gets a lot of cases of infidelity cross his desk and this is no exception. The only issue is the client is run off the road and left for dead. Who is to blame in this whodunit? I really enjoyed this book as well as the first one in the series. These have twists and turns and leaves you wanting more. I look forward to getting the next book in this crime series.

Here we are follow Johnny again on what should be another cheating spouse case but it is anything but easy. I really enjoyed this book as it kept me guessing and hooked from beginning to end. What a ride this book took me on and all the moving parts come together for one intense ride. We see a little more to Johnny this time around, but the story takes the limelight as its very small snippets of Johnny outside of work. I cannot wait for book 3, this author has a new fan.

Toxic Blonde was a great 5 star read and book two in The Delarosa Series. I enjoyed the first book in the series and I couldn’t wait to read this one.
Johnny is working on a new cheating case. HIs client is fearful and concerned her life is in danger. He learns from a family member that there may be more to the story than he originally thought. Moving forward the Russian Mafia and the FBI come into the story, making things much more interesting for Johnny.
Can he keep his client safe?
There were great secondary characters, we get to see Katie and Mike again and meet some new ones. We get lots of action, suspense, romance and so much more. I can’t wait to read more from this series. David pulls you right into the story and you won’t want to stop until your done. If you enjoy thrilling edge of your seat reads, this is your series. I suggest reading from the beginning so you don’t get lost.

5+++++ Stars
This is my second book by this author and as with the first I am totally in love with this series. This is my chosen genre and this author sits in the top with my other favorites and with the way this one ended I just know I will go crazy waiting for the next one.
This book brought back all my favorites and added a new favorite into the mix, or maybe two. I love the fast pace of this book, it is never boring and you never want to put it down. What started with a boring cheater case turned into so so much more and the constant twists and turns had me in heaven. I already want to read both of these again. I seriously hope the next book includes Eric as his quirkiness made this book that much better, and what is the status of one of our lead players, that text had me a bit confused and now my mind is going all over trying to figure out what the future holds for all of these people.
Loved it, you must read these in order, do not start with this one you will be missing vital parts of the story between these characters.

Toxic Blond is the second book in the series and PI Delarosa is back at it again. This story is full of all the good stuff… mystery, suspense and lots and lots of action. Delarosa picks up a case he thinks will be simple open and shut case, but that is so far from the truth. Two people he knows are caught up in the middle and it keeps getting messier and messier. Will he be able to solve this case before anyone gets seriously hurt? The characters in this book are great. The author put a lot of detail in his characters and story I felt like I was solving the case right along with Delarosa. I would like to read more by this author and I would recommend this to anyone that likes a good mystery. Happy Reading!

This is a great story! This is the second book in the series. It is just as thoroughly enjoyable as the first one. The story starts off pretty basic as far as PI work goes but something changes and it becomes everyone’s nightmare. The characters are full of life and charisma. We have quite a few new characters to enjoy as well as the old favorites (Mike, Johnny and Katie). I will mention that Eric is my most favorite new character in this story and I hope we haven’t seen the last of him.
This author has gone and surprised me with this thrilling story. I love reading about Johnny and his adventures. I never know what is going to happen next and that keeps me reading. This is a great series and I can’t wait to see what sort of trouble adopts Johnny In the next book.

Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2) by David Stever is full of mystery and action, suspense and secrets. David takes us on a trip into a world where Russian spies, lies and deceit show how fickle some men can be. Espionage and a brutal femme fatale lead the gang on a wild chase where she is one step ahead. I enjoy the way David tells a story that is easy to lose yourself in. Just when you think you have it all worked out you are suddenly thrown off in another direction. I also love the humour that is woven in.
Delarosa is a PI and once again hired to investigate an unfaithful spouse but it is anything, but a normal case and his chestnuts are in danger of being lost.
You need to read these fab books in order to fully appreciate these wonderful characters.

This is my first book by this author, I loved it. This was a page turner from the beginning and kept me engaged to the last page. It has great details that makes it feel realistic. The twists and turns made me sitting on the edge of my seat almost from the start. What turns out to be a night of reunion turns into a night of revenge. Will Issac get his revenge? He is a great character that has paid his dues and now just wants to be normal. I highly recommend finding out what happens next.

In this book we find Johnny on the case of a cheating spouse. However things aren’t as simple as they seem. When his client Mary- Ann is run of the road in her car things start taking a dangerous twist.
Add into the mix, the fact her husband works for a company that has links with the DoD, he is having an affair with his colleague who is a pretty blonde but is also ruthless and deadly, and the FBI doing an investigation on them as well. It all makes Johnny’s routine cheating spouse gig a lot more complicated.
This story is an adventure that keeps you gripped from page one.

TOXIC BLONDE is book 2 in The Delarosa Series and can be read as a stand-alone.
Johnny Delarosa is a private investigator and because this book is told in first person, I find myself narrating it in the old timey detective voice. Very noir in nature. There are layers and twists and suspense and everything that makes a detective series good.
This is an enjoyable read that was easy to follow and I definitely recommend it.

Toxic Blonde by David Stever a five-star read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is the second story in the Delarosa Series, and I have read them in order and enjoyed them that way, I would recommend you read them in order to get the most out of them. Johnny Delarosa is described in such a great way that he is exactly as you picture an old time PI, he keeps the story going. The suspense is done very well, it keeps you hooked all the way through. The action is powerful enough to keep you on your toes but not overdone to the point that it drives you mad. Overall a very well-done story and one you shouldn’t miss.

Toxic Blonde is the 2nd book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller Series by David Stever. I had loved the first book in the series and this one was even better. It is an action packed thriller that will grab you from the very beginning and have you on the edge of your seat right up to the very end. Stever sure knows how to write an amazing thriller. The story continually flows and is full of emotion, drama, suspense and intrigue. I could not put this book down. In this book Johnny thinks he has taken on another boring case proving that a husband is having an affair. In fact it turns out to be much, much more than that and Johnny ends up helping out the FBI in a case which also involves the Russian Mafia – a far cry from the boring cheating case he thought he had taken on. Again Johnny is helped out by his assistant Katie and Mike, his ex-partner when he was a cop, who he now owns a bar with. We are also introduced to Eric, a hacker, who has an outrageous personality. I really hope Eric continues to be part of the team in future books in this series as he added so much character to this book. If you enjoy an action packed thriller then this is definitely the book for you.

Isaac Reid, a former professional thief, has just finished a ten-year stint in prison for a botched job turned bloodbath. Now all he wants is to go straight and make amends with his wife and young son. On his first night of freedom his loved ones are brutally slain by a bitter enemy. Surviving the encounter, Isaac struggles with his choices: do right by his late family’s wishes and abide by the law, or seek vengeance. But he’ll need to decide quickly, as another mysterious force from his past is now in play: a cold killer wearing a wolf mask, leading a band of pig-masked assassins. To Isaac, these men are strangers, but they’re prepared to kill any who get between them and him.
Daniel James is an author of horror, fantasy and fast-paced thrillers. He first began writing as a hobby whilst completing his dissertation on the differing physiological, biochemical and performance effects between active and passive recovery modes following bouts of intensive exercise (I know, I found it boring too) at Liverpool Hope University. Pigs is his debut crime-thriller. When not writing, he loves reading genre fiction novels, watching movies, comic books, listening to music (he used to play bass in local rock bands), and he also used to enjoy kickboxing and jiujitsu before growing tired of getting beaten up three days a week.

Toxic Blonde is the second book in A Johnny Delarosa thriller series by David Stever. If you like thrillers this will be right up your reading standards. David Stever can keep you guess on what the outcome will be. His stories have a deep mysterious plot line, plus complex characters. I love Johnny Delarosa. I can picture him in my mind’s eye and to me that makes me enjoy the story even more. There is everything to make this story a thriller. From Russian mobsters, FBI, whistle blowers, and a computer hacker that all play a part in this thriller. Will this be too much for Johnny Delarosa this time? Who can he trust? Is there someone lying in wait that noone sees coming? You will have to read the story to find out.

I absolutely adore the Johnny Delarosa Thrillers and Toxic Blonde was no exception to that. This book once again brings it all home with action, adventure, drama, suspense, and a bit of romance to keep things sweet, or spicy depending on how you want to look at it.
In Toxic Blonde we find Johnny Delarosa at it again trying to work a cheating spouse case. These tend to be what he is best at and despite the fact that things tend to get a bit more messy and complicated only seems to fuel his desire for these cases.
“Infidelity pays the bills, so says a wise old private eye.”
I really enjoyed Keira Kane, our main female character and as promised “the most beautiful femme fatale to ever travel the pages of crime fiction.” She definitely makes for some interesting reading. I would have to say she easily makes this one of my favorite sleuth/mystery reads that I have stumbled upon in years. I am so looking forward to seeing what the next Johnny Delarosa book will bring us.

I give Toxic Blonde: A Johnny Delarosa Thriller (The Delarosa Series Book 2) by David Stever, 5 stars.
PI Johnny is back and this time his case involves yet another cheating spouse. But hey, there’s good money in it. Only, this isn’t so simple. His client quickly fears for her life, and then the client’s uncle comes to him and says that there’s much more than just the husband cheating. He sounds a bit paranoid, but Johnny quickly realizes that it may all be true. But who or what is behind it all? Just how far will they go?
I loved the first book and could not wait to read this second one. I was yet again blown away. The author pulls you in with action quite quickly, unlike some books who draw it out. Then there are the characters, both the returning ones and the new ones. I love Johnny and the people he works with, it’s so great to seem them all again. You get to meet quite a few new people attached to this new case too. Every one if them is interesting and you’re left with who is actually guilty — like the great Agatha Christie, you can see how each one could be a suspect.
This book harkens back to the great PI novels of old, but adds an updated approach with new technology and younger secondary characters. I love that Johnny himself as well as his partner are older, they’ve seen more and have a different take than the young detectives. In my opinion, this is not something we see enough of.
If you are a fan of the classic whodunit, but with an updated twist, I highly recommend this book and series. You do not have to read book one to follow the story, but I do suggest it since it is also so good.

Infidelity pays the bills, so says a wise old private eye. But for PI Johnny Delarosa, his routine cheating spouse case turns into a tangled mess when his client, Mary Ann Bellamy, is run off the road and left for dead. Her husband, the owner of a cutting-edge aerospace technology firm, puts his career and marriage at risk by having an affair with his senior executive, the sexy, enigmatic Keira Kaine—the most brutal femme fatale to ever travel the pages of crime fiction. When a whistle blower appears, along with the FBI, Russian mobsters, and an eccentric computer hacker, the case weaves through a maze of surprises that lead to a violent and stunning climax. Delarosa, along with his assistant, Katie, and partner, Mike, must learn who he can trust before the case turns into a homicide—his own.

This is a fast paced old style mystery. It is full with top notch sleuthing. The characters are full of curiosity and smarts. There are a few main characters and many secondary characters. They made me smile and wonder what could possibly happen next. This story starts off with a bang and keeps moving until the very end. Not sure if I could be a PI…Watching DeLarosa go through the paces to try to figure out who is really behind these incidents. Some times seem very exciting but other times the sitting and waiting would be too much. I did love his insight into his trusting and no trusting of people.
This is a first time author for me. I enjoyed the trip he took me on. If you are interested in sleuthing and mob connections mixed with unknown people and a couple million dollars…pick this up.

Scarlet Fever (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 1) by David Stever is a five star novel. This book is one that you will pickup and not be able to put down. I loved the action and the thrill right from the beginning. As I picture the main character in my mind’s eye, he is one sexy private investigator. Even though he is older, he seems like he would be one that would catch my eye. The author does a great job of painting the picture of what he writes about and it almost felt like I could close my eyes and see the movie playing out in my head and that is when you really know that it is a great book. When Johnny meets his clients, they meet in a back booth in a bar. The clients all come to him through word of mouth and they are all high paying ventures. He is very secretive and feels the need to be since he is a private investigator. As you read this book, you will see into the life of what it would be like to be Johnny Delarosa.

I lover a good thriller and this one didn’t disappoint!
Johnny has seen it all so it seems nothing can surprise him until Claire. Claire drops some serious cash to find what happened to $2 million from 30 years ago. I love how this made me feel like I was thrust into a 1940’s black and white mystery. It literally sucked you into this time warp and the story itself was amazing. It didn’t let you up until the very end!
I’m very picky about my mysteries but David Stever is definitely an author I will constantly one-click!

Scarlet Fever: A Crime Thriller by David Stever is the first in the Johnny Delarosa mystery series. I was intrigued by the cover because of the nod to the noir novels of the past and this did not disappoint. The story is a modern-day but still resembles the thrillers of the past. There is a drop-dead gorgeous woman who needs help, a hard-boiled detective, and various crime/mob characters. I really enjoyed the writing and how it set the scene for this book. The characters are great and I look forward to the ones who come back in the future stories. The story was fun and had some twists and turns. I felt like I was watching an old thriller. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

What a read! This is the first time in a long while I have thoroughly enjoyed a Crime book entirely. David Stever is a new author for me but I can’t wait to see what else he brings! Scarlet Fever is full of suspense, action, adventure & mystery, and it will leave you wanting more.
Everything about this book was excellent! I was absolutely captivated I have been on the edge of my seat throughout the read, I couldn’t stop reading. The characters in this book were the best I’ve read in a long time, following their journey in this read really had me connect with them, they really made this book edge even further to being incredible. I found this read mentally visual, I could picture the scenery and surroundings, you will be transported into this read for the entire read and not want to put it down!
I can’t wait to see where this author takes these characters or even what else is to come from this author! Until then do not miss this read you will most definitely not be disappointed!

Scarlet Fever: A Crime Thriller is the first book in the Johnny Delarosa Thriller series by David Stever. It is a private detective thriller story that will keep you gripped the whole way through. This is the first time I had read any work by this author and I’ll definitely be reading more. Johnny is a PI who works out of the pub he co-owns with his former partner in the police force, Mike. He also has the added help of new amateur sleuth Katie, who he rescues from kidnappers at the very beginning of the book. In this book they are searching for £2 million pounds which went missing 30 years previously. This missing money is related to mob activity so therefore attracts the attention of many undesirables. As the body count rises, several attempts on Johnny’s life happen, and then the disappearance of his client, Johnny knows this is not an easy case. In fact, if his team all come out alive it’ll be a bonus. Scarlet Fever is fast paced and full of so much intrigue and suspense, you’ll be sucked right into the story and it won’t let you go. I really look forward to reading more books in this series as, if this first one is anything to go by, we are in for a fantastic series.

Scarlet Fever (A Johnny Delarosa Thriller Book 1) by David Stever is a thriller mystery that had me hook, line and sinker and had me on the edge of my seat, sometimes with my heart jumping. This is reminiscent of old detectives/PI’s but in modern times which adds to the feel of the story. The PI and friends are smooth and well-seasoned and can spot trouble a mile away except that is where this case is taking them. David’s writing sucks you into the drama and the danger and takes you on a journey that is so vivid you feel like you are on the case with them. This gripping tale will have you thinking all the way through and just when you thought you knew what was going to happen, you were thrust somewhere else.
Johnny takes on a case with nothing more than a couple of names and a huge retainer. But little does he know that this case would take him to the seedier side of life and perhaps come out with his life, or not!
This is my first read by David and I enjoyed it so much that I look forward to more from Johnny and his buddies.
If you like good old fashioned detective stories with a modern twist then this is one book you should grab on to and enjoy the ride.
