I’m becoming a huge fan of suspense novels, and this one is definitely feeding the addiction! Logan is our main character, and she is awesome! I love how she is portrayed as a strong independent woman who has found a partner in her husband Ben that compliments her. He is part of the story without being overpowering. Our other main characters are Logan’s best friends, Jean and Sam. When tragedy strikes at the Cascade Raptor Center where Logan volunteers, things don’t quite add up. The CCC, or Cormorant Coffee Crew, take it upon themselves to investigate into the mystery. Sam is an investigative Journalist and Jean is a Medical Examiner. I loved the mystery and suspense of this one. The characters are extremely well written, and the world is fleshed out perfectly. I also loved all the facts and “interactions” with the raptors at the Raptor center. Ms. Davisson did her research super well and made me want to run out and find a similar center to volunteer at!
I fell in love with Logan and Ben from the first page. Logan is living her best life and volunteers to look after raptors at the local wildlife rescue centre. Then her co worker is found dead and Logan feels obligated to investigate. I would recommend this fast paced crime thriller. It kept me hooked from start to finish.
I’m a little picky when it comes to my Mystery books. Wow am I glad that I took a chance on this one. Settled in the backwoods of Oregon, you see Logan McKenna playing her violin named Bella, and married to her long-time beau Ben. They are thoroughly enjoying the married life together, and Logan working at the wildlife rescue center, everything is bliss, until one day one of Logans co-workers end up dead. Was it on purpose or was it accidental? The writer leads the reader on a wild goose chase with left and right turns and feels like ad adventure. She leaves just enough to keep you going. I really enjoyed reading this book. I discovered that this was book 8 in a series, but it felt like I wasn’t really missing anything important. The word building was phenomenal, and well executed! I think I may just go back to the beginning and see where this all started in book 1.

What an excellent mystery! I was kept in suspense until the very end. Although part of a series, I plunged right in with no prior experience with this series. I was not disappointed. The characters were developed seamlessly, and the story flowed smoothly.
I have loved the amazing books that this author creates for some time now, and this author never disappoints me in all that they write. They weave a story that grips you, and intrigues as you read, and leaves you wanting more! I was hooked completely as I read through! The book was amazing!
This author created such an astonishing thriller, and one that shakes your soul as you read. The characters were very connectable, and I was very much invested in them and the mystery and story that was a hand. What I loved about Logan and the mystery was that the build up was quite dire. When things were found, so were more things, and things kept building. Danger was everywhere. You needed eyes everywhere, I felt my heart beat fast quite a few times as I read. I felt I was alongside Logan as I read. The story was perfectly done and full of its ability to be realistic! This was a well worth reading! I cannot say enough good things!
Again, this author never disappoints me with the griping books that they create and bring to life. This one takes the cake though! Highly recommend this book, and the author as well! A must read all around!
This was the first book I’ve read by Valerie Davisson. It is not the first in the Logan McKenna series, but you can read it as a standalone. Very well written murder mystery that was hard to put down. I will be adding this author to my list of favorites.

Logan McKenna has settled into a quiet life in Oregon with a few friends and a new husband. By coincidence Logan finds out about the Cascades Raptor Center and decides to start volunteering there. When Logan finds the raptor vet she has been working closely with dead, Logan decides to investigate her murder. At first, no one is actually convince that it is murder. With the help of her coffee crew, Logan discovers the mystery behind the murder.
I love the twist as to who is the guilty party. I was ready to convict Jimmy. I didn’t see the real killer coming. This one will keep you guessing right until the end.
This was my first Logan McKenna mystery. It was a nice change of pace from some of my usual picks. I am glad I chose this out of all my options.

In Plain Sight is book 8 of the Logan McKenna Mystery Series, and full disclosure, I didn’t realize that upon grabbing the book. I don’t feel as if I missed anything but maybe I was, however I felt this book worked as a standalone and it was well worth the read! The author writes eloquently and immerses the reader in the story. It was a pleasure to read and I enjoyed the twists and turns so so much!

While on spring break, Angie and her three friends get kidnapped. Angie manages to escape but her friends are killed. She ends up in a psych ward framed for their murders. It’s a good plot but the book is a bit lacklustre. The story needed more depth. Everything is very surface. It’s a thriller but I never once felt an ounce of fear even when Angie was fighting off her attacker. Seeing as this happened at the beginning of the book, it should have gripped my attention but didn’t. I struggled to get into it. Once Jake and Cody entered the story, I found the book more interesting. I loved those two characters and they are what kept me reading.
The police didn’t even look at the evidence which clearly pointed to Angie being innocent. It didn’t make sense. There are multiple points of view which is fine but I found it made this story a bit all over the place. There was Angie, Jake, the killer, his boss (some prince), and a random slave on the boss’s island. It was a bit random. The author had some good ideas which could have been incredible had it been executed properly. It’s an interesting story if you want to pass the time but definitely not a gripping thriller.

In Plain Sight is the eighth book in this wonderful series wow where has the time gone. The series started out a little rocky but I stuck with it and am glad that I did because it has gotten better over time.
Logan always finds herself embroiled in another tangled web. Davisson once again weaves a multi layered and complex plot that draws us in. The Logan McKenna Mystery series has become one of my favourites. I see Davisson’s name and can’t wait to grab a copy and get going. I am never disappointed. I have said it before, but I will say it again with each book Valerie’s stories get better and this one is my favourite so far.
It is filled with intrigue and drama, tension and suspense and danger, lies and deceit, secrets and murder.
With as long as this series has been going for you would think that it would have started to get a bit old by now. And yet with each book added it just gets better and better. I always love jumping back into Logan’s world and thr characters surrounding her. Each book feels fresh and exciting. This book is just like the rest of them. I was pulled into the story with ease and I could not put it down. I was desperate to see what was going to happen and just to spend more time with these characters. This is easily one of my top series and I would recommend everyone reading it.
I’m a big fan of this series, and yet again I was gripped from start to finish with this mystery, crime thriller. I loved being back with our heroine, Logan McKenna and her now husband, Ben, both of whom feel like old friends. Logan is enjoying life at the start of this story, enjoying playing her violin, taking long morning runs, and having time with Ben. Logan then decides to volunteer at a wildlife rescue centre, and becomes involved with the wild raptors. Logan’s peace doesn’t last long though, when a coworker is found dead, and although there’s no sign of a violent struggle, the cause of death remains unclear. Despite the autopsy finding no evidence of homicide, Logan believes it could be murder as the office had been vandalised, and things just don’t seem right. Taking matters into her own hands, she decides to uncover the killer and along with two friends she digs deeper. However, this brings her to the killer’s attention and if she’s not careful she will end up as the next victim. I was hooked by this fast paced, page turner of a novel, and literally could not put the book down. As usual the descriptive narrative brings both the characters and the setting to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. An enjoyable and engaging read, and one which I definitely recommend.

This is a series that I have enjoyed from the first book. It is a series that keeps getting better and better with every new installment. I have enjoyed reading this author’s stories and how her writing skills bring her stories to life. This book is no different. This is a well written story where Logan is back in a race against time mystery. Will she be able to stop a killer before she falls victim to the killer? This is a fast paced story that had me coming back for more. It is a story that is full of action and twists and turns that you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story which made the story easy to read. This is an entertaining story that you don’t want to miss. Logan is a great character that made the story for me. This is a great story that I enjoyed by a great author. I highly recommend this book.
This is the fourth book in the Fitz series. This story follows Andy and Stephen, two homosexual males who have a past. Andy is the single father of Stella. Andy has Parkinson’s disease and his adopted daughter is deaf. Stephen did not want to raise Stella and top it off with Andy’s disease, it was too overwhelming for him, so he left. Stephen and Andy agree to meet. Andy just wanted closure, but clearly Stephen’s heart has not moved on. Now he must find a way to get them back. Now they are dealing with a serial killer – of gay men. Such an emotional read but a really, really good one too!

This is the 8th book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series. Everytime I pick up one of these books I know I’m going to be take on a gripping murder mystery and this was just as I expected. The characters growth throughout these books is amazing to see and its nice to see her finally happy with her long term love Ben. But it seems everywhere Logan goes there is always trouble.
We are back with Logan in her new home. Finally settled with her now husband Ben, Logan is enjoying her life and decides to embrace her love of Birds of Prey. Now she has spare time she decides to volunteer at a wildlife centre where she can fully immerse herself and her love for these beautiful birds. Sounds perfect right? That is until one of the vetanarians Logan works with turns up dead. Was it a natural death or something more sinister? With Logan believing there was foul play she sets out to uncover the truth but little does she realise that by digging she has brought herself to the attention of the killer and now its a race against time for Logan to find the murderer before they get her.
This story is very gripping and will have you turning the pages and not being able to stop. I was fully immersed and captivated by this story that I couldn’t put it down.
This was my first book by Valerie Davisson, and now I am compelled to read all of the others in this series! I loved that you could pick this book up without reading the other books, but now I feel the need to go back and read them all anyways. Valerie’s writing was so descriptive, which made me feel immersed in the story, the setting, the drama, the mystery… everything! This was a great murder mystery that kept me flying through the pages to uncover the truth. I definitely recommend it!

This is one of my favorite mystery series. Logan always brings a great story. I love the descriptions of everything in the story. It helps to build the picture and set the stage for the murder. The author did a wonderful job with researching owl information. The story was very engaging. What really makes it the best story are the twists and turns. A very well-written story that I recommend.

This is a new author for me, but he definitely has a new reader that loves his work!!!! This was such a great book with excellent characters. There was so much suspense to keep entertained the entire time. I love his writing and the enjoyment of feeling like I was there watching everything happen! I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!

So much action!!! This book had me instantly hooked and kept me that way the entire time. I loved every second of this book and was so sad when I finished reading it. 3.3/5 stars This was my first read by this author and I had higher hopes for this book. The description is written so well, but I feel like the book could’ve been better. There are parts that had me racing to see what was next, but there are also parts that didn’t fit in the book to me. I wish the ending was better with more excitement. The beginning of the book reminded me of a lifetime movie but then it just started going all sorts of directions.

I enjoyed listening to this suspenseful story. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the characters. I also enjoyed how the narrator brought to the story as well. The narrator’s change in tones for the characters has me coming back for more. This is an easy book to listen to as it is fast paced and engaging. This is a story about Cady and how life throws her some unexpected situations that change her. She is now faced with standing her ground and murder, will these two cross? The question remains will she run or stand her ground for justice. I loved Cady’s character. A great supportive, connectable person. I really enjoyed what she brought to the story. A great audiobook by a great author. I highly recommend this audio.

I appreciated the fact-checking section at the end that described what’s real and what’s fiction, providing some insight to some of the information given and proving the book to be educational as well as entertaining.

This book was an action-packed thriller that I could not put down! The main character, Angie, and her friends had hopes of enjoying spring break. Drugged by a bartender and then kidnapped at gunpoint, Angie only has one goal – survival. Angie eventually escapes, but the trauma will remain forever. While spending some time in a mental hospital, she meets great people and together they form a bond with hopes of achieving justice for Angie’s friends. I highly recommend starting this book on a day when you don’t have much to do because you will want to read it from start to finish. The twists and turns just keep you coming back for more!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Shake Down. There was humor, suspense, and even a few unexpected surprises. One of my favorite things about this book was the down south feel. Not only were several cities and landmarks from Florida and Georgia mentioned, but also the lingo and characterization lends itself to the southern charm that just makes this story all the more entertaining. So often stories are written using popular locations like New York and California, so it’s nice to have a story with a more modest cityscape. While I was reading, I was so engrossed in the book I didn’t even realize it had come to an end. Clayton’s story is one I hope continues on in the next book, Throw Down, so I can continue to follow his journey of fighting crime while getting his life back on track.
