I have never read anything by this author, but I have to admit that the cover of this book and its title had me very intrigued from the beginning. This book has so much to offer its thought provoking, dark, tense, and twisted. This story is such an intricately woven story, that you’ll never see what’s coming next. Full of secrets, mind games, deception and more, there are so many twists and turns might feel a little crazy by the end. This author gives us not only a fantastic story by fantastic characters to go along with it. Their lives all connected by dark things including manipulation and more. While physiological thrillers are not normally my thing this one was fantastic and I highly recommend.

I couldn’t put it down, well other than when I had to go to work. This book was incredible and so entertaining to read. it really sucked me in to know what was going to happen next. A sword and a girl that gets into some trouble, and trying to get out of it, with a sword that just wouldn’t leave her alone. Getting into mischief that she does really showed her thou who her friends were and who she could trust. I love reading books on different views to with the supernatural type, like who some write that you can see a vampire in a mirror, and in this particular book she wrote her own little twist with vampires that I found interesting. I love how all the characters have a very strong bond with each other, and how much they care for one another. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more.

What an intriguing story. This is one of those books that will keep you completely captivated from start to finish. The book is so intense and dark. I could not look away from what I was reading. So many times I thought I had this book figured out and each time I was wrong. This author turns you upside down and inside out and you really have no clue what is happening. This is one of those books you just have to read and I would urge you to do so today. This is a fantastically thrilling story that will grip your attention and make you question so much. Just amazing.

A very intriguing mystery, I found myself sucked in at the beginning and pleasantly surprised at how it progressed. The characters were well-written and I found I could relate to a couple of them. The plot was awesome. I love a mystery with plot twists! Everytime you think you have it figured out… Boom! think again. Didn’t see that coming. Great mystery, I’m going to go back and read the previous just because these are new reads to me. The author has a fantastic way of writing that keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know how the story progresses. Take a chance and get out and read this book. I highly recommend it.

MURDER OFF ROUTE 82 (Eve Sawyer Mystery Book 3) by Jane Suen
5 +++++ Stars
I love the Eve Sawyer Series, I actually love anything this author writes. I liked that Eve ended back up at home in this story. I missed Cassie but hoping she returns in future books?
I like the part that Bob played in this book and how he teamed up with Eve as he did. I wondered about the relationship there a few times and Bob’s feelings but very glad their friendship remained the same, so far at least.
This story had me going all different directions. There were a few different moving parts in this book, and the more I tried to figure them out, the more I realized I was wrong. I love how it all ended and one of my favorite characters in the whole book ended up being Randall. I enjoyed his part very much!
This was a quick read and could I suppose be read as a standalone, but you really need the first 2 books to understand why Eve is who she is and why she was pulled into all of this to begin with.

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and have loved each one of her books from the first book. Her characters pull me into the story and keep me engaged to the end. They are well written stories where her attention to details make her stories realistic. This book is now different. I loved reading this book. It is a suspenseful story that is entertaining and brings mystery to a new level. Eve is such a great strong character. She is my favorite and makes the story for me. What will happen when you have a missing girl and a boyfriend and a race against time to find them before it is too late. This is a must read and I highly recommend this book and this author.

Black Canvas by Laura Rossi. Well, that was completely unexpected read- in a really great way! This is a completely mindboggling and gripping psychological thriller that had me ensnared pretty much from the beginning. As I had not read any of this author’s work before, I really wasn’t expecting such a cleverly woven story- so colour me impressed! It was a little slow to get going, but soon took off and I had to strap in for one heck of a mind-bending ride. The story is quite original, beautifully dark, complex, tense, intriguing, unpredictable, and entirely unforgettable. I would love to go into detail here- but the story is so cleverly stitched together that I think you should dive in and let the author, and her twisted tale, surprise you. So, no spoilers from me. I highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to exploring more from this talented author! Happy reading!

This was a new author for me and I’m excited to see what else she’s written. I absolutely LOVE psychological thrillers and this one is perfection! I read it in one sitting. It has so many twists and turns to keep you on your toes and guessing. This story has a way of pulling you in and not letting you go until the very end. This is definitely one of my favorite books this year!

I love Urban Fantasy and was intrigued by the idea of a sentient sword so I decided to give this story a try. There are a lot of things to love about it. The characters are interesting. The meat of the story is great. And, of course, the magic and paranormal aspects we love are plentiful. However, I found that there was a bit too much extraneous world building. It felt like I was getting lost in a lot of minor details that slowed down the story quite a bit. That being said, if you are a person who loves intricate worldbuilding, you’ll probably love that part of it. Overall, I’d say the heart of the story was good, but I definitely will have to be in the right headspace to keep going with the series since the superfluous world building is distracting to me.

Dark, gritty and suspenseful this is a brilliant psychological thriller that will have you enthralled from page 1.

Mind officially blown! It is a dark and twisted tale that this author has intricately weaved. A complex psychological thriller that will do your head in. The author is new to me, but I am impressed with her work. It started a little slow and I had to settle in but when it gets going it is one twisty ride. It is full of obsession and deceit, lies and suspense, turmoil and secrets. This multi layered plot is unique, original and gripping and oh so twisted. I say don’t even try to work out what is going on just go with the flow cause there is no way you will guess what is going on. I am not going to give anything away, you need to discover this little gem all on your own. I have to say this is one of the best books I have read this year and I have read a lot. This book was a good read but definitely much darker and twisted than other books I usually read. I was drawn in by the synopsis. The connection between the characters especially Ivy and Aria was interesting for sure. There were some parts that definitely surprised me. I wasn’t expecting the Mattias angle or Gabriele part either. I did have a hard time staying engaged in the story but that could be just because it wasn’t something that I could connect with. Overall, I’m glad I read it but it definitely was different than I was expecting.

This is a well written story about a woman who thinks she sees someone else looking back at her. She takes control of her life in every aspect. What happens next is truly twisted and hard to put down. The twists and turns are like no other and kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters not only bring the story to life but also keep the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. The growth of the characters and plot throughout the story is awesome. I highly recommend this book.

Hilarious fantasy adventure I absolutely enjoyed this book. Such a fun read. Harlow was relatable and quirky with a strong sense of self. The storyline was original and well written. With a paranormal sword with a mind of it’s own, plenty of action and hints at romance there is a lot within the pages but the author delivers it with ease. “Diabolical Sword” wasn’t my favorite as it seemed to take too long for there to be what felt like real peril for the main character. I’m used to reading books that are extremely fast paced from page one.
I did really enjoy the premise of the book. Everything was well described, the characters, their actions, the magical beings e.t.c. My favorite part was the last few chapters as they were so exciting and full of action.

This urban fantasy is definitely worth reading. I was excited by the landscape and descriptions of this world. It took a little while to fully appreciate the world and how those on the “fringes” like Harlow Fletcher survive. I really appreciate how strong Harlow is and how she perseveres the best way she knows how after she loses her parents. We meet so many interesting and sometimes scary characters in this book. Reading about them and learning how they interact with Harlow and how she deals with them is an important part of this snook. I can’t wait to read more about Harlow and her search for magical charms in future books of this series.

I devoured this book! I don’t think I can say enough good things about this book. I enjoyed the writing style, the characters and the story line. Harlow Fletcher is an illegal charm collector in the supernatural city of Luma. She is a human in a supernatural world, thanks to her parents raising her here. Her ability to get herself into trouble seems to be infinite but that is part of the charm of the book.
After Harlow “collects” a magical sword her luck just seems to go from bad to worse. The sword has a mind of its own and decades to follow Harlow. It saves her from certain disaster at first but later drags her into more danger than she could have found herself. Murder, mayhem and craziness ensue.

A sword with sentience. An artifact aficionado. There’s a whole world of problems. Harlow Fletcher is a charm collector that goes by the name of Harlow Fletcher. She understands more about the criminal underbelly than the ordinary Luma resident because she is the daughter of bounty hunters. However, once her father was slain as a result of his employment and her mother fled town, she swore off the profession for myself. She should have gone into a more secure, unrelated field, such as accountancy. Instead, she found herself working as a freelance charm collector, which is a profitable job. She has an uncanny ability to track down rare items, particularly illicit magic-laced weaponry, and she used this talent to break into criminals’ homes after the cops have taken them away for their latest transgressions. She would sell the contraband to the highest bidder once she had helped herself to it.
While robbing her last victim, she notices a beautiful sword. Her instincts tell her it has dragon power rushing through its blade, and she already has the ideal buyer in mind. Within minutes, she regrets her choice to steal the sword: the weapon is alive. It’s lightning-fast and has a temper issue, but it’s taken liking to her. She is relieved to have the sword taken away from her life one day. When the cops showed up at her house, accusing her of murder, she was less relieved. The devilish sword glides into her flat, coated in blood, as she is arguing that she did not commit the crime. They’re now on the run, pursued by bounty hunters and government-trained feline shifters. While the sentient murder weapon stands by her side, she must somehow establish her innocence.
I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

The writer created an amazing urban fantasy book that is like no other. The world is well developed allowing the reader to imagine what is going on as the story develops. The main character Harlow is daughter of a bounty hunter and a charm collector. This natural eye for rare pieces comes in handy for Harlow. It is this trade of hers that sends her into a dangerous adventure. A stolen treasure that proves to be more of a pain than a joy sends our main character on the run with the sentient sword. Can she prove her innocence with the murderous weapon at her side?
This was my first read by this author and will definitely not be my last. I was hooked from the first page and struggled to put it down. With a wonderful world, unique characters, and a plot that keeps you hooked this fantasy story checks all the boxes.

I found this book really exciting as I was reading, the action and where the plot lead you has you glued to the pages wanting more. The mystery level is great in this book! I really enjoyed reading this one. I kept thinking I knew who it was but I was wrong. You learn a few legal things in this book and definitely makes you think about what’s going on. I recommend this read and can’t wait for the next!!
