Moby Plays the Flute by Eeha Bhatt – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

This is a cute story with several important lessons embedded in it. The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. The cherry blossoms are always a favorite of mine. I wish this story was a tiny bit longer and answered some of the lingering questions (this the reason for the 4 star rating), but overall it was a good story. I would say first through third grade readers would enjoy this the most.

Post apocalyptic adventure awaits in this page turner of a novel. I thoroughly enjoyed the read and simply couldn’t put it down. If you are like me and find yourself glued to stories and simply can’t turn off the lights and go to sleep I recommend not reading this on a school or work night. I literally didn’t sleep and went to work still thinking about this story. The characters development and the strength of the storyline really adds up to an amazing fantastical tale that has you wanting more. A brilliant read for anyone who loves fantasy and adventure!

Action packed, great characters, unforgettable story line and adventure will keep you riveted from page one until the very last word! Since reading this book I heard that two of the characters were from a previous series by this author. I enjoyed his writing style so much I will be going on to read that series as well!

This was the first book I read in this series and boy was that a mistake. I liked this story so much I am going back to read the first three and this one in order. I love paranormal romance, especially vampires and witches. When they clash using their own supernatural bent it becomes even better. If you enjoy supernatural books and enemies to lovers stories these books are for you.

Entertaining, Interesting, Heartbreaking Romance! In this modern day rewrite of the Cinderella tale the author takes us through the adventures Ashley has in outwitting her evil stepmother and step sisters. I enjoyed the twists in the plot and the strong character development. All in all this was a good book and is very clean so it is great for fairy tale lovers of all ages.

Emotional, action packed, fun with a wonderful story line and great characters! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series following Emma and her sleuthing ways. The character growth throughout the series is phenomenal and will leave you wanting more. I really hate to see the end to this series come, but understand final curtains are a necessary step for every author. I wouldn’t read these books out of order as they make a larger impact together. In one word this series was BRILLIANT!

Again we are off right from the start, picking up after book two. Emma must journey to New York after receiving peculiar petition. This time she brings along Jeremy and we watch as their relationship evolves. As this author has before, there is historical references throughout and of course the interesting recipes as well! I really have loved this series and am looking forward to the final chapters in the next installment.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third installment in a great series. We find out all about Krystina and Loukas’ journey to love. We see many generation’s tales of love in this story and watch as Krystina tries to over come the past unforgivable actions (her perception) of Loukas’ friends.
This novel can be read as a stand alone but you will miss all the cultural aspects and historical facts, as well as Krystina’s older siblings stories. I found this book to be as much of a page turner as the first two and look forward to the next in this series.

This is a quick read with strong characters. As a second novel in the series I had hoped for more storyline and got it. I was impressed with the details, not only of what’s happening but the places, cultural references and a little history. Mia and Nick are a match made in hell it seems as they do nothing but fight. Both are bound and determined to get their ways. You will find a lot of romance, drama and even some steam in this book. I am excited for book three!

This story is a romantic comedy with all the fixings. Plus it has recipes. Now I don’t know about you but I love when a character is eating delicious food and I not only can imagine the taste I can go to my very own kitchen and experience it. There was elements of drama (especially the family kind), it was a little emotional, some heartbreak and of course comedy laced with romance. I loved the character development and would have rated this one five stars if the storyline was a bit more detailed. Kally and Max are the perfect main characters and you will continue reading despite those missing details for them.

This is a YA novel by an amazing author. I have read her other books and I enjoy them. This was no different. The storyline is intriguing and will lock you in its grip until you read the very last word. While I believe this story is more relevant to teens and very young adults I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more of her books. The details in all the twists and turns, secrets and lies, and even the romance made this a great read!!

This author does such great character development that you begin to make Audri and Remi as well as some of the side characters your book friends right away. This book has it all! Sizzle, steam, mystery, back stories, drama, romance and of course an HEA!! You won’t regret giving this book a chance.

As someone from a small town, this story resonates with me. I enjoyed both the characters and the storyline. This author is new to me but I will be back for the next book in this series.

We are back with Morgan and her unpredictable life. As with the first book she continues to have visitors from beyond and continues to be an amazing nurse. This author is fast becoming a favorite as she writes with so much passion, emotion and depth. She truly loves her characters and wants her readers to love them as well. This is the second book in a series and in order to fully get the story you shouldn’t jump over book one. You won’t regret reading this series.

This was a shorter novella. While the story line is there and the main characters, Sol and Ember, each have their connections to the storyline this story could have been really amazing. I am of the thought that the more details you put into both the storyline and the characters the better the story. That said it was a cute short romance read and was enjoyable. I would read another story by this author.

I love suspenseful, twisted, mysterious stories. I actually loved this one even more because of the Christian aspect. Some mystery novelists tend to add spicy scenes to their book that in my humble opinion detract from the story. I have not read book one but intend to go back and read them in order. This book has everything you want in a mystery novel including an ending that will shock your socks off!!

Queen of Hearts (Heels, Rhymes & Nursery Crimes Vol. 21) By Natalina Reis – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Queen of Hearts (Heels, Rhymes & Nursery Crimes, #21)Queen of Hearts by Natalina Reis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am not usually a big fan of novellas, mostly because they lack the small details of places, things, people and actions that make a story good. However, I find that is not the case with this story. I actually enjoyed it immensely. Mimi “The Queen of Hearts” is desperately trying to rid the world of evil men, by depriving them of the one working part of their anatomy they like the best. By using herbs she is able to render them impotent. Jac is her new dealer and he also wants to be her partner. Disaster strikes and they must flee. The details in this story are great and you really get to know the players. I am excited for the next in this series.

Twisting, Turning and Hiding My Kindle in the freezer… This thriller has it all… This is my very first book by this author and let me say I will be returning to read everything they have written!!! I am very picky when it comes to suspense novels as most don’t have enough backstory or as many details as I would like. Not with this author!! You will find yourself needing more and after you go on and read book two you will sit around tapping your fingers waiting for book three… begging for more!

Romance under Aquarius (Stargazing Series Book 1) by Danielle Jacks – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Romance Under AquariusRomance Under Aquarius by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A book that has it all. Treasure hunts, mermaids, magic and adventure. Mythology, the lost city of Atlantis and a developing relationship between two strong characters. I enjoyed this story although I felt that there were definitely some smaller plot holes and some of the central characters really acted against who they were portrayed to be. That aside I found that I really wanted to see what happened and so I finished it in one sitting. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Such a captivating tale. The characters and plot are so well developed and you won’t find plot holes in this story. This is a keep you on the edge of your seat, death grip on the book, can’t put it down until it’s over type of book. It’s not really action based but more reflective and pensive. I really enjoyed how well the emotions were portrayed in this story. Every ounce of guilt, futility, joy, and development of self really made this book what it is. I am interested to see what book two will hold.

Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 6)Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book six in the series and true to the nature of these books can be read as either a stand alone or as part of the series. We focus our attention on a minor league player in these stories up until now. Hot and steamy ER Doc Trey. We don’t know much about him from the previous books, but we learn a lot in this one. After he meets Hailey, she ends up getting kidnapped and adventure, anxiety and plots ensue. True to her nature the author makes sure the reader is on the edge of one’s seat with a death grip on the book. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.

Mermaid and the Ice Cube NecklaceMermaid and the Ice Cube Necklace by Lois Wickstrom

I do not have small children any longer, however I have found this series to be amazing in several ways. My first love is the way this author tells such a cute fantasy story and yet finds a way to fit science facts into the narrative. Not only are the characters inclusive, interesting and critical thinkers but they are also fun, engaging and charming. Your kids will get a kick out of the whole gang and as a parent you will get a kick out of the fun science facts they learn that make them want to blow holes in ice cubes to make an ice cube necklace. These books really are a great way to start teaching your kids science and for them to beg you to learn more with the next mermaid story.

Cat is back and this time Cat, Robyn and the rest of the family are off to visit GG (Grandma Ginny). Of course there are adventures and antics that create the fun atmosphere this author has a way with. This book was enjoyable even for me although I would imagine the target audience is ages 10-16ish. My daughter and I are both avid readers and though she is an adult as well I will be passing this series to her as I have so far really enjoyed it. I am very much looking forward to book three.

Flame and Crystal Thorns (Fae and Crystal Thorns, #1)Flame and Crystal Thorns by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really love stories about the Fae realm and this book was no exception. All the little details make it a super fun read. Chloe is a healer and a bit insecure in her daily life although she does has a quick tongue and a bit of bite in her I found her a delightful character. Quintus is a charming Fae character that is your quintessential hero. Strong, pensive with a bent towards protective. Set in sometime period around possibly Victorian times Chloe is making her own way in a world where women don’t work. Quintus comes to the mortal world to get Chloe’s help. Chloe balks at returning to Faerie but Quintus tells her she is the only one who can save her sister. The shocking end made me a bit miffed but hey I am only human! Cliffhangers make me crazy!!! Great read you won’t regret!!

The characters in this whole series are amazingly detailed, relatable and intriguing. I have had so much fun with this series and I am sad to see it ending. Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance (The Casket Girls Book 1)Blood & Ravens: A dark, paranormal romance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Get ready, get set, get gripped!!! This book will hook its claws in and won’t let go until you read every word (and then it may just give you nightmares). Greer is ripped from the home she knows in Paris to be a casket girl in New Orleans. As if that wasn’t enough Greer realizes that all the casket girls, herself included, are being fed on by whatever or whomever sleeps in the casket shaped boxes.
This paranormal romance has everything you could want it to have, including great character, many details, loads of information, action, steam and even a touch on mythology with Hades making himself known. I really enjoyed this story and will be looking forward to the next installment in the series!
