Looking for a novel full of mystery, intrigue, political twists and magic? Then look no further. This book has it all. Adrijana is under suspicion for killing off the royal family one by one. With the help of Dragan she will try to clear her name. Dragan is a magician who can read and manipulate the thoughts and emotions of people around him. Can they work fast enough to clear Adrijana’s name before another death takes place?
This novel captured my attention from the first page all the way until the last page. I simply could not put it down. The character development is amazing and the plot puts you right in he middle of it all. Definitely worth the read!!

Shake Loose the Border (Thunder on the Moor Book 3) by Andrea Matthews – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Shake Loose the Border (Thunder On The Moor Book 3)Shake Loose the Border by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third novel in this series. These are NOT stand alone books. If you try to read two or three without having read the previous books you will not have all the information you need to move forward. This story keeps getting more wild, dramatic and crazy as it goes on. There is so much action and suspense sometimes it is hard to know where to focus your attention. That said I am enamored with the characters enough that I can’t wait to find out what happens to them. This storyline has become an absolute obsession for me. As always the author added all those well researched historical facts and details that just make these stories pop… and makes her one of my my favorite authors. Another added bonus is the maps, family trees, and glossaries of obscure words. Now comes the hard part … waiting for book 4!!

I had high hopes for this second installment in this series and I was not disappointed. Once again this author does her research well. All those historically accurate details really are a huge draw for me. One thing I would note is sometimes there is so much going on it is hard to follow and you wish everything would slow down and have all those little details that really flush a book out. I love the descriptions of Scotland and really feel like I can see the image in the way it is described. The characters are lovable and have well developed back stories. Am reading book three today! Can’t wait to see what happens to Will and Maggie next.

Thunder On The Moor (Thunder On The Moor, #1)Thunder On The Moor by Andrea Matthews
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After reading the description I was immediately intrigued and couldn’t wait to dive right in. Right off the bat there is a huge plot hole and because my brain got stuck in it I had a hard time enjoying the rest of the book. The pace was so fast the author forgot those little details that bring a story to life. However, I did finish the book and am now interested enough to want to read the next in the series. One thing I am super picky about is making sure an author knows what they are talking about and this book was well researched. I enjoyed the characters and have hope that the next installment will not fall into the “too fast paced” category.

Imperfectly Yours (Titans of Manhattan #2)Imperfectly Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the beginning I thought this was another blissfully happy HEA in the making. Elsa and Anton are perfectly happy, successful people both missing the one thing they crave… family. They come together in marriage and then tragedy strikes as Elsa miscarries their baby in the first trimester. Can Anton’s love bring her back from the depressive black hole that has sucked her in? A perfectly imperfect read that is emotional and inspiring.

I had to push through to read the first few chapters but it quickly became a good story. Caspian is set to inherit his Uncle’s company but there is one caveat. Caspian must take a wife and stay married for at least one year in order to take over. As is the way of fate he bumps into an old childhood friend who is down on her luck. Paisley is a struggling artist and her mother is extremely Ill. Caspian and Paisley begin a marriage of convenience that quickly turns to a mirror of self discovery. Will they find true and abiding love or will their illusions of self cause them to drift further apart? This was an easy read and the simplicity of the story allows you to take breaks in between chapters. I really enjoyed it.

This is a well written story, that is both fast paced and still plot driven. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and draw you into the story. This paranormal dystopian novel is about Amy trying to find her dad, but during her journey finds herself. Amy can fly but doesn’t know why. As she searches for answers she uncovers secrets, lies and maybe more than she bargained for. This was one of those books you can’t put down.

Face the FireFace the Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Miles and Bella are back and stronger than ever. They are bonded in family and enjoying parenting their beautiful twins. True to her writing bent the author takes them on a rollercoaster ride of drama, suspense, romance, fantasy, magic and love. I enjoyed the fifth installment in this series. If you haven’t read the first four I recommend you do so as you really need all the details and plot developments to fully enjoy this tale. While the story at times is a little too fast paced and has some plot holes it is a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oof!!! My mind is absolutely blown!!! From the start I thought the author under played the suspenseful plot and the paranormal bent but with book two came back with a bang. Now book three is absolutely mind blowing!! The paranormal is kinda more in the undertones of this part of the tale, but once again family plays a heavy part of the plot.
Ari (Miles) is a superstar and has met his match but Bella finds his fascination with Fire a little frightening. She is both intrigued and repulsed. Will we get an HEA? I am not gonna tell you, you will have to read it to find out! You won’t be disappointed!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading book one I was apprehensive about reading the second one but was intrigued enough to see if the author filled in the plot holes from the first story and I am so glad I did. This book is well written and includes a little bit of everything. It is all at once suspenseful, romantic and paranormal. Family is the overall theme and plays heavily in this tale. Overall I enjoyed this story immensely and can’t wait for book three.

This was my first read by this author. I found that this story had several plot and character details that were either missing or ambiguous. That said it was a pretty good read. I think some of the tale is engaging and well developed. I enjoyed the suspenseful moments and found the family dynamics believable. I am hopeful that the next in this series will fill in some of the plot gaps.

This was my first read in this series and by this author. I absolutely loved this twisted, funny, witty and yes steamy tale. Definitely a must read! The author’s writing style is exactly what I look for. Katrina is a heroine you can absolutely root for and Gabriel is so cocky and witty that I fell in love with him. It always makes the story so much better when the characters are people you can love. I am going back and reading the rest of this series!! I would give more than 5 stars if I could!!!

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles Book 2) by Tricia Copeland – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

To be a Fae Guardian (Realm Chronicles, #2)To be a Fae Guardian by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author is one of my absolute favorites! I have read almost all her books and love everyone of them. This series is so intriguing and the characters are so well detailed that you can’t help but fall in love with them.
Titania is the queen of her kingdom and bears the weight of a worlds worth of responsibility, but she does so with such grace and wisdom. You would think that if she did everything she could to save her realm she would be worshiped yet she is instead put under investigation for taking actions to save her people. She becomes so overwhelmed that she has a heart breaking decision to make.
This book held my attention from the very first page to the very end! I could not put it down. I am so relieved there will be another in this series because these characters deserve more, maybe even more than one … maybe five more or six more heck maybe even a whole 10 more to make it an even dozen!! If you are looking for a great YA paranormal read you should definitely read this series, you won’t be dissatisfied! Can I give this ten stars please??

Blindsided by T. Christensen – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports RomanceBlindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance by T. Christensen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The title is a completely accurate description of this book. Trigger warning for all you who share the high school emotional trauma caused by rumors as this novel will bring back some of those unpleasant memories. With that said I absolutely loved this tale. Enemies to Lovers is not really my thing but this author made this story an absolute stand out in this genre. Imagine your worst day in high school and multiply it by ten and that is what almost all of Kirsa’s career has been. Brought on by rumors that she started rumors Kirsa is betrayed by her best friends and tormented over the next three years. Brock is the typical good looking jock, but one who has a heart. He thinks Kirsa has betrayed him and spends his time getting revenge. Still with all the rumors, negative feelings and vengeful actions sparks fly between them. Overall a great HEA with a very good story line.

This a paranormal mystery and is the second installment in this series. If you haven’t read the first I would highly recommend reading it. Dahlia Nite is a consulting detective investing a string of mysterious deaths in Sentinel City. During her investigation she is coming up with more questions then answers. Can her and her partner Alex solve these crimes before things get any further out of hand?
A fast paced, action packed novel that will leave you gasping for more and on the edge of your seat! This series is a must read for paranormal or mystery readers.

An innocent young girl in need of someone to save her and now that she believes Zoe is innocent Grace is doing just that. A former prosecutor and solider, Grace is tougher than she looks and Zoe needs her to be tough. Zoe’s life hasn’t been easy and to top off all the other misery now she has been wrongly convicted of a crime she didn’t commit.
This novel was so fast paced I hadn’t realized 3 hours had passed and I was half way through. The detail was so rich I can’t imagine the sheer amount of research that had to go into making this crime/mystery novel as amazing as it is. The author did an unbelievable job. I am a forever fan and cannot wait for the next book!!

Spoiler Alert : I really enjoyed how the culmination of events led to them finally ridding themselves of the hellspawn.
This third installment is once again a fast paced, steamy, sizzling paranormal romance packed full of action, drama, suspense and yes even love!!

Game changer!!! Holy script flip!! I did NOT see that coming. First of all if you missed book one GO read it now, first. These books really need to be read as a series not stand alone novels. Levi and Tasha are back and the accords will show the strength of the bond between vampires and lycans. But can they forge a bond strong enough to destroy the threat of the hellspawn that is coming after everyone, especially the innocent?
This is a fast paced, paranormal romance that is fully detailed and offers great world building, fully developed characters and all the sizzle, twists, turns, spine tingling, edge of your seat action you can handle!!

Claire comes from a long line of medicine women and while the power is hers she is very resistant to it. However due to the archbishop and his evil doings she will have to embrace everything she is in order to fight back.
This dramatic, dark, twisted book of horror will not only keep you on he edge of your seat but will make you want to put the book in the freezer and hide in your closet.
The characters are well developed and the story line has many twists you won’t see coming along. There were a few plot holes and the end was way to abrupt. All in all I would recommend this book.

This novel is face paced and a page turner. I literally couldn’t put it down from the first word to the very last! Lexi is a bit of a hot headed detective who is known as a loose cannon since her husband took his own life. While this is a very dark, dangerous subject I feel this author really handled it with grace and truth.
Xavier is sent in to investigate Lexi but ends up finding out she really is a crack detective with a big heart! Their attraction is hot and fast, but with a child killer on the loose can they find him before he gets to them? This fast paced thriller, suspense, drama, romance novel is my pick for a great read you won’t be able to put down.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great world building!! I love fantasy and rarely find a new subset to that category! This author not only created a whole new world but a whole new set of magical rules! The characters were diverse and well detailed! I loved the premise that something crashing from space could infect humans and give them supernatural powers. Of course as always magic comes at a price but the way the author deals with that basic rule is not only entertaining but is entirely different from other magical, mystical realms. All in all I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to the next book in the series.

This novel is well written and has a very diverse cast of characters. While I enjoyed the premise of the tale I found it lacking in detail and in answers. Why are these lost souls stuck and can they move on? Are they doomed to purgatory in Limbo forever? Thus I gave it 3 stars. I really feel there is more to this world that needs to be built upon and with a little more detail and a better back story this book could hit the best seller list. It is definitely a book I would love to see updated with more information. I can see a great story in between the lines and I really like the idea behind the scenes.

Historical romances are one of my favorite genres to read. This story was full of historical details and I appreciated the accuracy of them. Cora Lee is a mail order bride and is running low enough on funds that even though some strange happenings take place she decides to wait and see.
Happily enough for Jace she does. Their love blossoms even though Jace isn’t her intended. Loyalty and love of family makes for some awkward moments but in the end we get a wonderful HEA. I can’t wait to read the next tale in the series.

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having been dealing with dementia in my own family lately this novel hit deeply. At first I thought it would just be another feel good, bad boy meets good girl, good girl brings out true nature in bad boy which isn’t bad at all, but it is not. I did not read the first two books so I came in a little lost and although this can be a stand-alone book I wish I would have read them in order. Now I am going back and reading them again.
Another similarity in my life to this book is I am a nurse. I have been there with my patients when they don’t recognize their own children or when they tell you stories from their childhood as if they happened yesterday or when they cry out for someone they loved that has passed on but they no longer remember. I felt every moment of Madison’s journey. I think the way she handled Jared was exactly like she should have. When the children of your patients like to give orders, but keep their distance, most days you wish they were closer so you could slap some sense into them.
While this tale had it’s happy, feel good moments it had a deeper, stronger message. I laughed and I cried. I will be reading this one again!! Thank you to the author for putting out some amazing material.

Paranormal Shifter books are some of my favorite. Never have I come across a swan shifter but love the idea. This story has everything you could ever want in a paranormal romance. Love, angst, beauty, evil and of course good triumphs. One note I do have is … I need these recipes! Seriously hire a chef to come up with the recipes for this food! I absolutely loved Ember’s story and cannot wait for the next one to come around.
The details of both the story and the characters are vast and in-depth! I absolutely enjoyed the introduction to Māori society.

Practically Pagan - An Alternative Guide to Magical LivingPractically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book just kinda jumped off the shelf at me. Not because I am pagan and not because I want to be pagan, but rather because I am always interested in someone else’s point of view regardless if I agree with it or not. I actually ended up enjoying it. Believe it or not there are some really great life lessons in this book. Definitely things I needed to be reminded to do in my daily life and that really are not just about magical abilities. Such as slow
Down. We are always in hurry and we often forget to just stop and enjoy the beauty of something even in the midst of a scary, sad or
dark situation you can almost always find beauty. When we intentionally slow down and look for that beauty our lives become richer and our world becomes a little more attractive. Overall I give this book five stars because it really does have a lot of wisdom in it that I believe a large percentage of today’s societies could use to bring peace and tranquillity back to every day life.
