This Night Has EndedThis Night Has Ended by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Engaging, dynamic, intriguing, captivating and enthralling! Book five, the last in this series, really makes the final moments for this story come alive. I was entranced and caught in the throes of the action. I love Rowena’s final push and thoroughly enjoyed the dark romanticism and unique portrayal of vampires. Read these in order to get the most out of them!!! I will be re-reading them one weekend when I have time to binge!!

The Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

The Scent of GardeniasThe Scent of Gardenias by Lorraine Haas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We’ve all heard tales of World War II and a lot of us lost loved ones in that war so I was leery of reading a fictional novel about that time period. While I traditionally love accurate historical details mixed in with my fiction, this subject can be sensitive. However, I saw that the author used her mother’s real life experience during World War II to inspire pieces of this story so I gave it a shot. I am so glad I did. It is beautifully written and offers a perspective we don’t often hear from WWII survivors.. A woman’s perspective. Throughout the trials, tribulations, pain, sorrow, anxiety, grief and even a little joy Margret continues through it all to be strong and grow! The emotional roller coaster in this novel requires many tissues. Definitely worth a read.

I adore novels that are not only attention grabbing, but ones that are relevant or you learn something from. This novel does just that. This author writes the contemporary suspense well and the characters are thoroughly detailed. I really enjoyed the mystery, intrigue and suspense. This book starts off a little slow but once it kicks into high gear there is no putting it down as every twist and turn will have you needing more.

This is a true feel good story. When Melodie and Issac meet hilarity ensues!! From finding ways to get past their opposite attitudes in everything to meeting the parents… you will laugh and giggle and have a great time with the characters in these novels. Both books focus on the lives of Melodie and Issac. The author blends her strong characters with a really interesting story line that hooks the reader and makes you really care about these people. If you are looking for a truly heartwarming, emotional and balanced story this is for you!!!!

Spring’s Showers (Romantically Seasonal Series) by C.A. King – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Spring's Showers: Romantically Seasonal: SpringSpring’s Showers: Romantically Seasonal: Spring by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A romantic comedy that will draw you into its pages and make you laugh, gasp and feel everything your characters do. I enjoyed this story and really loved the characters. In my opinion stories are always better if you can bond with the characters. My only complaint (and the reason I gave it four stars) is that the story line was missing those little details that rounds out a really great story. I am hopeful the next in this series will be the perfect blend of storyline and lovable characters.

Spring’s Calling (Seasons of Magic Book 1) by Sarah Biglow – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Spring's Calling (Seasons of Magic, #1)Spring’s Calling by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After reading the synopsis I was really looking forward to reading this book. I am not sure if I hyped it up so much that I let myself down but I found the book to be a bit blasé. The details were not impressively laid out and the storyline didn’t draw me into the story. That said the characters were good but needed fleshed out and some of the background information seems to make little connection with the story. Ezri could be a lot more than she is and I have hopes that the second book will have all those amazing, unique details that bring a story to life. I can see how this could be a really magical, suspenseful and captivating series. I truly hope book two will bring this interesting story to life.

Deacon (Saints vs Sinners Series Book 1)Deacon by CJ Warrant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Enemies to lovers in a big way. Deacon comes home after a long stint away, for a funeral no less. He bumps into Olivia and those old sparks fly. This story had the best and the worst of the characters. They were so detailed and in depth you really get a great sense of who they are. Both the characters and the story line are a driving force to this novel and truly make it one story you won’t be able to put down!

Slash & Burn (Nite Fire, #4)Slash & Burn by C.L. Schneider

This is the fourth book in this series and boy was it a good one!! I love the way this author spreads out the details to both the characters and the story line. This story is the continuing antics of main character Dahlia Nite who investigates crimes of supernatural characters. The world this author has built is complex and intriguing and will hook you from book one. This is not a stand alone and you really need to read these in order. You won’t be sorry but be prepared because you won’t be able
to put these books down.

Until There Was You by G. Colgrove – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Until there was youUntil there was you by G. Colgrove
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novel had it all… sex, secrets, broken hearts, tears, laughter and a great big HEA! I will say it was a bit on the trashy side as every other page some was grabbing someone’s … (this is why I gave it four stars, because while I like a little heat to my novels there is such a thing as too much) … well anyway the overall story was great and I enjoyed that it was a quick and easy read. I loved the side characters as well as the stars of this story Regan “Southie” Doyle and Jeremy Stone. This story felt like a story more about forgiving yourself and opening up to love.
Trigger warning: There is some
Moderate drug/alcohol use as well as a family member death because of it.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Scott and Zelda are back and on another rollercoaster of ups and downs and twists and turns. Please do not read this book without reading the first two. You will not get a lot of what they go through without the many details, experiences and backstory from the first two books. This specific book is so emotional and had me reaching for the tissues more than once. So much happens but above all the love Scott and Zelda have is as strong as ever. This author has fast become one of my favorites! I am sincerely looking forward to the next installment in this series.

*I will add a trigger warning as I didn’t have one and wish I had. Zelda loses a child and this story explores that grief. If you are still raw from the loss of your own child (and as I know from experience that pain never goes away it just dulls down until something brings it back) you may want to skip this one.

This is a spin off of another of this author’s series. I have not read that series and did not get confused or lost so I feel like this book can certainly be read as a stand alone if you, like me, have yet to read her other books. However, I will warn you once you read this book you will want to go back and read more of her work. She is an unusually creative author. I truly enjoyed the little details she adds to her story that makes not only the story, but the characters, the places, the happenings and the emotional all come to life as if you are watching them on the big screen.
Ruby is a great character and I love that she isn’t the epitome of perfection. She uses those imperfections to her advantage to help solve this gruesome murder of her cast mate. I thoroughly appreciated this authors talent in making a story come to life and look forward to book two!

Lingering Spirits (Soul Connection, #4)Lingering Spirits by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In this fourth installment we focus on Hope and Russ. While I missed Scott and Zelda being the main couple, this story had its moments that it shone. Hope can communicate telepathically with people and she does so with Russ. The authors writing style really makes a difference in this type of story. The twists and turns, the emotions and details all make such a difference. This story will get you in its grip and won’t let go even once you are done reading it. I am so looking forward to book five as this one kinda ends on a cliff hanger. While others are saying you can read this as a stand alone I would suggest reading the first three books because you miss so much background and so many emotional details that take this new installment to another level. Now to wait for book five…

Book one … Great! Book two … Amazing! Book three … Extraordinary!! This installment in this series was everything I wanted it to be. In fact it was so much more than I knew it could be and I literally couldn’t put it down until I had finished it! What a truly wonderful fantasy world that is so intense and interesting you will find yourself wanting nothing more than to visit there despite the ongoing battle in the age old tale of good vs. evil. Vanessa “Van” is at it again on another mission. This time though she has a whole slew of regular life stuff to deal with on top of the games and the mission. But like the true hero she is she wings her way through it with a delightful outcome. I don’t know about you all but I did not see that coming!!! And now we wait … oh book four wherever can you be!!!

If you haven’t read book one STOP and go back and read it. You will need all the background in book one to truly become involved in this second take. Once again we meet up with Vanessa who is getting ready for the next level in this mission she is on. This part of the story becomes very intense and will leave you wondering if you would have handled quite as well as Vanessa at the same age. Mystery, Intrigue, Deceit, Trials, and the ultimate question to follow your heart or your head. I loved, yes LOVED, this second installment in this series. I was very much looking forward to it and it did NOT disappoint! This is next level fantasy at its absolute best!!! So excited for book three!!

Shock of Fate (Anchoress #1)Shock of Fate by D.L. Armillei
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vanessa is a teenager who finds herself in an alternate reality forced to find a relic. There are many surprises in this novel but they are well placed and really bring about how this whole alternate reality came about. This story has everything I look for in fantasy novels. Action, adventure, twists and turns and most of all well developed characters. The fantasy world is super involved and so well detailed you can actually feel like you have been there. The author truly wants the readers to be satisfied that their favorite characters are handled with care and given a full experience. I laughed, I cried and yes I even yelled at the book a time or too. I am looking forward to a continuing journey in book two!

A very cute science tale. What a fun way to not only teach children science but to bring them to a understanding that just because something is one thing does not mean it cannot also be another. The illustrations are nice and the wording is perfect for grades 2 and up. I will be reading this book to my grandkids for sure.

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack Book 1) by Nicole Howl – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Claiming My Mate (Wolf Hollow Pack #1)Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novella is action packed from page one all the way through the very last word!!! Most novellas leave you feeling a little like part of the story is missing, but not this one. Jason is quiet, but strong willed and he knows his eventual place is at the front of the pack. Lily is a human servant that feels her place, brutally at times. She is to remain invisible. When the worst happens and Lily is attacked by a member of the wolf pack she is placed in the infirmary. Jason also happens to be in the infirmary and this places him in close enough proximity to realize that Lily is his mate. This instantly brings out the protector in his wolf and he is ready to face the devil himself if he has to in order to revenge his mate.
The characters are well developed and while the story is a little fast paced, it makes for a very interesting read. The author did not leave out the interesting details and those read between the lines moments I love in my stories. I am excited to read book two and find out the conclusion to all the threads left untied at the end. Bravo!!! A really great beginning!

He did it again!!! This author is one of my favorites and he changed my mind about this genre of novels. I thoroughly enjoyed this third novel in the series! It has a great ebb and flow. The characters are deep. There is truly no stone unturned when it comes to the characters. While the plot line is amazing and does drive the story some I truly think the characters are about seventy five percent of the driving factor to this story. Not only are the characters well developed, they leave you wanting more and you find yourself (well I find myself) talking to them while I read.. or yelling at them lol). While this book could be read as a stand alone I would not recommend it. You won’t regret getting the box set.

Can I just start by saying WOW!!! I loved the cross between this coming of age and supernatural novel!!! Abbey has a well developed power of seeing ghosts. One day after a jaunty journey to the circus and back dead clowns start appearing at her high school and people start going missing. This is one of the books that once you pick up you can’t put down so fair warning there. It is a really great story and the characters are so well developed that they really drive the story. Being as this was my first book by this novel I am thrilled to say I have found a new favorite author to add to my list!

Steamy, hot, fun!! A good story overall. More of a novella than a novel and I was able to read this one in about three to four hours. However it was three to four hours of enjoyment!!! Desmond and Emily are the perfect couple who are the absolute definition of opposites attract!!
This author gives a great read with in depth characters and a plot line that is both character and story driven. The characters become a central part of the plot and bring this story to life!! My only complaint is the end didn’t jive with the story line and a lot was left unfinished… maybe there will be another story to complete this but over all I say it’s a great, comfortable read.

Spice, Sex and Secrets. This series has them all!!! The characters are well developed and become your “book friends”. I have so far thoroughly enjoyed this series. The author really takes the time to add in all those little details that make a story a page turner.
Elena has been in hiding, but when her cover is blown she needs the help of her sort of enemy, Marco. Of course they fall in love but it’s the hows and whys of it that matter most. All the mystery and suspense is still there and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

A must read! I am normally not a fan of sci-fi fantasy novels, but the Journeys Set takes you into a multiverse that really brings you to a place of wanting every complex drop of knowledge you can wring from the story. The first little bit of the first book can be confusing (I actually read it twice) but is full of very important details that you need to really be cognizant of space time dimensions and the silky threads that bind it together. If you are reading the series and feel like giving up I urge you to keep reading. The author really brings all these seemingly unrelated events to fruition. I thoroughly enjoyed the complexity of the inter dimensional threads that combined the characters.
The author takes you to places in such detail that you can actually see, feel and smell what he is describing. I absolutely love the details in this book. To me there is nothing better than an author who can create a picture so clear in your mind you can swear you have been there and This author does exactly that!
I also find the parallels between our world and the universes that have been created particularly fascinating. Believe me this series is a hidden gem. What a masterful multiverse the author has created!!! This story will take you further through time travel than ever before. Absolutely an amazing read!! Don’t miss out, grab this series as a set because you won’t want to put it down once you get started!!

Etched in this Moment (Etched, #1)Etched in this Moment by Calla Zae
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A fast paced romantic drama that leaves very little to the imagination. While I think the author had a great idea for a plot there are a few plot holes and it feels like some of the characters didn’t get as fully fleshed out as they should have. That said it’s not a bad story.
I love the way Sofia/Tia’s character plays off the plot and off Theo. Domestic violence never ends well but Sofia has gone into hiding to protect herself. When she meets Theo sparks fly. When she starts receiving frightening text messages Theo pulls out all the stops to keep her safe.
Overall a good read! I am excited to see where this author takes us for book 2.

This is book three in this amazing series. Dahlia Nite is a detective and is out to ride both worlds, the world of humans and the hidden underground world of supernatural beings, of evil.
In this novel we find Dahlia and her partner Alex in search of whomever or whatever is dismembering bodies, both human and supernatural.
The author really knows how to create a plot that hooks the reader in. I did not put down this book once I began reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed the mystery that needed solving and the intrigue it created. Don’t miss the first two books in this series. You won’t regret reading them in order.
