The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

The Heart of Baker BayThe Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Heart of Baker’s Bay was the first book I read by Danielle Jacks and I loved it. Its a really cute, clean romance book and I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are great, with wonderful realistic personalities, and the chemistry between them is entertaining. The supporting characters are well written too, not just the main two. Jody is stubborn and full of spunk and Adam is like a grumpy old man, but with good reason. The town of Clover Bay sounds wonderful, on the top of a hill, secluded from the rest of the world, but in reality, only a couple hours outside of the city. This book had my emotions on a roller coaster, many times laughing, sometimes in near tears, and then a good happy ending. I highly recommend it, and look forward to reading more by Jacks.

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks. I love Danielle Jacks books but this one was really good. Once I started I had trouble putting it down. Its the story of Jody who has gone home after her Grandma (Gran) has a wreck to run her seaside cafe. Jody has had so many jobs in her life so when she gets fired at her latest job she sees it as the perfect opportunity to go home and take of Gran. No one has ever been able to really rely on Jody but she is determined to prove them wrong. Jody thinks things are going to be all nice and quiet but when Adam walks in Jody is smitten. Adam has no desire for a relationship and sees Jody as too high and might for him but as he gets to know her he realizes there is more to her than meets the eye. Will Adam fall for Jody as quickly as she has fallen for him. Read The Heart of Baker’s Bay to find out!

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by this author. I enjoyed being pulled into this story by the characters. This is a well written story that I found to be engaging and fast paced. This is a romance story that has characters that pop off the pages and into your heart. They are relatable and just made the story entertaining to read. Jody has come to a new town to help her grandmother but she is not very reliable. Adam wants so much to not like Jody but he finds that he can’t help himself. What will fate have in store for them? Could it have a happy ending? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to these two characters.

This book was a quick, sweet read. It did take a little bit to get into but once I did, I really enjoyed the story. I liked the development of how Adam’s walls were built due to having his heart broken by an outsider yet Jody, an outsider, helped tear them down. Jody’s struggle with confidence is understandable especially with having the type of relationship she had with her older sister. I would definitely read more books by this author.

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster (Frat House Confessions, #6)Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster by Danielle Jacks is book six of Frat House Confessions.

Casey is Setter’s opposite in just about every way. She loves spending her time in the library while Setter is all about football and partying, or so it seems on the surface. Casey meets Setter as he’s running from police helping his friends get away after a prank. Casey couldn’t be more annoyed especially since they get paired as lab partners in biology. Setter very much lives in the now and is starting to feel unsettled about his future. Is Casey the key?

I enjoyed this book! I couldn’t put it down! The back and forth between Casey and Setter was entertaining. I definitely recommend!

A fun college age romance. This book, and Brandon Setter (the Male Main Character), is quirky, fun loving, and sexy. A slight slow burn romance, with Casey (the Female MC) either disliking or being indifferent toward Setter until about 30%, but once the sparks fly, oh do they.

Both Setter and Casey are still growing into who they are. Setter has his future planned out for him, so in the meantime he’s trying to enjoy life to the fullest. Casey is still dealing with the loss of her best friend from high school, pulling away from everyone but her dad, and focusing on her schoolwork, until Setter literally stops in on her in the library and thereafter brings her back to life. But it’s not all fun and games, with both outside forces and Casey and Setter themselves threatening to pull them apart.

I enjoyed the additional background mystery storyline and the drama along the way to finding out “whodunnit.” I liked that Setter and Casey’s relationship, or lack thereof, wasn’t completely the sole focus of the novel. I also enjoyed reading how both Casey and Setter grew into more of an adult with the help of the other. The romance between them is sweet and pure.

This book is just one in a series written by many authors, but I’m interested in searching out the rest to read about what previously happened to side characters and what happens in those to come.

I am really enjoying this series and this story pulled me right in.
Casey spends most of her time in the library and Brandon is of course the football star. These two are very different in so many ways. Brandon ends up meeting Casey when he is looking for an alibi, he happened to come into the library where she was studying. And of course fate steps in again and these two find themselves working together as lab partners.

There are some additional twists and turns that add so much more to the story. These two have a connection that pulls them together. Will they get a HEA? If you’re looking for a great series this is the one for you. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. All of the characters added a great element to the story. 1-click and get started today.

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster : Frat House Confessions by Danielle Jacks

This book is part of a series by several different authors and I have only just discovered and so glad I found this book.

Casey is a wallflower who is happiest while in the library but she hasn’t always been this way and her reason for changing is so sad,

Setter is one of the start football players whose greatest joy outside of football is playing pranks.

These total opposites fit so well together in so many ways and seem to bring out the best in one another, but have some obstacles to get past.

I enjoyed this booked, was able to turn my brain off for a bit and live in their world which isn’t always easy for me to do.

Brandon Setter, football star. Casey Nelson, nerd and coaches daughter. The two are paired up for an assignment, how completely different their perspectives are. Casey is very prepared and withdrawn due to an incident in her past, Setter is a party boy and prankster. Coach wants Setter to help Casey come out of her shell, but is falling for her part of the plan. Setter is set to take over the family business and Casey is not supposed to be part of that future. This book is so fun and well written, kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

The characters are very relatable and really make you feel like you are in the book. The writing style is easy to read and addicting to get lost in. It makes you miss your college days and really remember to cherish those close to you. Read this book if you like witty banter, romantic build up, and a relatable coming of age story.

This my first read by Danielle Jacks, and I can’t wait to read another one of her books. Its a light read and shows college romance at its best. Casey and Setter are one of a kind. We get to watch as the popular star football player begins romancing the introverted nerdy girl. Setter is a handsome, rich, and athletic jock who meets Casey upon a prank that he has taken too far. After the first meeting where she agrees to be his alibi they part ways only for them to end up being lab partners, and things progress from there. As they get to know each other Setter becomes determind to bring Casey out of her shell and show her the fun side of life. Casey gives a bit of push back but cant resist Setter the pull she feels towards him. This is a fun story where we watch romance and love take place despite a sad past and unwanted pre-determined future. Setter and Casey find their happy together and its beautiful to watch.

First time reading this author. I feel like she did a great job portraying the college scene. It kind of made me reflect on my college years as I read it. While I am not a rich kid waiting to take over daddy’s business, I could relate to the wanting to have fun and put off becoming an adult. But then, when you meet the one you are meant for, it is unavoidable to grow up!

I enjoyed this feel good contemporary romance which although is part of a series can be read happily as a standalone story. I felt very engaged with the main characters, Setter and Casey and it’s definitely a case of opposites attract. They have instant chemistry but have very different personalities. They are both at College where Setter is a footballer, a jock with a cheeky grin who’s known to be a prankster and a player, meanwhile Casey is more studious and uses education as her escape from thinking about her past, she keeps to her self and spends a lot of time in the campus library. They meet in the library when one of Setter’s pranks leads him there but as soon as he sees Casey his prank is forgotten and all he can think about is her. Casey helps the jock who stumbles into her sanctuary and then can’t seem to get rid of him after that. I felt immersed in the College life along with the characters and I liked seeing how their relationship would develop. This is a fun, lighthearted romance although Casey does have a sad past which makes her very realistic. I look forward to reading the other books in the ‘Frat House Confessions’ series.

Can I confess that I am hooked? Danielle Jacks has added a brilliant chapter in this series. What is it about Brandon Setter? Is it the Frat Boy appeal? Is it the jock status? Is it the carefree attitude? I think it is all three.

Casey Nelson has locked away all that used to be. Casey used to live and enjoy life just like everyone else. Then tragedy struck, taking a piece of Casey and her world with it. Casey has become a self-professed nerd. She works, she studies, she goes to class, she studies, wash, rinse, repeat. One night Brandon Setter crosses her path in an unexpected way. She knows who and what he is. This fluke has him showing up in Casey’s structured life. Can she find a way to let him in without losing who she has become? Does she want to stay who she has become?

Brandon Setter knows what college is for him, a chance to be free. Brandon’s life is set for him. His father has decided he will join the family business and have the trappings of life that go with that. Brandon has four years of boyish exploits to enjoy before having to settle down to lead the life expected. His latest prank has him taking refuge in the library. When he needs the help of a mysterious beauty that seems to know him to save him, Brandon takes notice and decides to find out more. Brandon discovers that she is intertwined in all sorts of aspects of his life. Will his desire to make this wallflower bloom change his prankster ways?

I hope Brandon and Casey make regular appearances in the remaining books of the series. Can’t wait to keep reading to find out!!!

I loved this book! Casey and Setter were brilliant characters. I loved Setter for his fun, carefree attitude and Casey for her more reserved, focussed way of thinking. Together they made a great team and I could tell from the beginning of the story there was going to be something between them – opposites definitely attracted in this story! I really felt for Casey at the beginning of the story – I could really feel her sadness coming across with everything that had happened to her in her past. I really wanted Setter to be the one to make her see that she definitely has a life worth living!
This was definitely a feel-good romance story; I haven’t read the other books in this series but I absolutely will be now! A brilliant read and one I highly recommend!

Setter is at college to party, play pranks, and play football…academics are somewhere near the bottom of the list of things he wants to do. Casey is a studious, hard-working, self-proclaimed nerd. She has dealt with some trauma in the past that has her spending more time at the library than out with friends. When she covers for Setter to keep him out of trouble one evening, their crazy friendship begins.

This story reads like a crazy tv show…and I loved every minute of it. Setter has a wild side that he shows the world…which is the opposite of Casey’s reserved side…and they definitely balance each other. Both characters grow throughout the story and made it wonderful to read. Can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!

“Let’s be honest. If we weren’t paired together on this assignment, we wouldn’t be doing anything together. You’re Brandon Setter; a football stud and party animal. I’m Casey Nelson; a loner and self-confessed nerd. Those things make us polar opposites.”
“Did you just call me a stud?” He laughs, making me roll my eyes.
“Yes. You’re like a prize stallion that I’m sure some girls would love to ride.” “But not you?” He seems amused from the sparkle in his blue eye.
“You’re not interested in me, so what difference does that question make?”
“You got under my skin with your stereotypes and repulsion towards me.”
My mouth drops open in shock. He’s messing with me, but he’s also tying me up in knots.”

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster (Frat House Confessions #6) by Danielle Jacks. This series is a collaboration by 12 talented authors who, over the course of the year, have/will each release their story- one new release each month of the year #winning!
Anyway, this is Danielle Jacks contribution, and as I have read most of her other books, I was curious to see what she had going on here. It is a contemporary college romance, with quirky endearing characters, and a fun storyline. It definitely surprised me, in a good way- I knew it would be well written, but the story was sweeter and had more depth than the title may have led me to believe.
College football jock meets nerdy girl, and the sparks fly. Setter is out to have a good time, playing hard on and off the field- always up for a good prank. Casey is the serious student- locking herself away to study, trying hard to forget her past. When fate brings these two together, get ready for some fun and sizzle.
I look forward to exploring the rest of the Frat House Confessions series, as well as more from Ms. Jacks!

Thank you, Danielle Jacks!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In Danielle Jacks’ book Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster, Casey Nelson and Brandon Setter are complete opposites when it comes to studying. Casey is the beautiful, smart blonde who spends most of her free time in the campus library studying. Setter, on the other hand, is the running back for the Preston University football team, is a well-known prankster, and rarely shows up for a class on time.

On the night when Setter first lays eyes on Casey, he is running from the campus police trying to help his friends get away after a prank. He slides next to her at the table where she is studying in the library hoping she will be his alibi. Casey obliges but is irritated with him and wants to be left alone. Her feistiness and the fact that they are paired together as lab partners for Biology the next day has Setter intrigued by the girl who knows his name but seems immune to his charms. Not being one to settle down into anything permanent including his college major has Setter questioning his future.

On a twilight run after two unsettling discoveries about Casey, Setter rescues Casey from a fire at The Donut Shop where she works. Setter wonders what more there is to learn about Casey Nelson. The rescue, the science lab, and their attraction for each other sets them on a journey of discovery. What can they learn from each other, and how will each of their lives change because of one simple night in a library?

Confessions of a Sophomore Prankster by Danielle Jacks a fantastic five-star read. This is number six in the Frat House confessions series, but they can all be read as stand-alone, but I do plan on checking some of the other authors out to see how they take their spin. Setter is so much more than you first think, he is adorable, in his own little way. Normally he would be someone I wouldn’t like much on the surface, but the more you get to know him the easier he gets. Casey I understood from the off, and I just adored her every moment, felling her sadness and crossing everything for her in my own crazy way. Do not miss this funny, sweet and so much more story.
