Forbidden Desires: Taken by her Son’s Best Friend (Confessions of a Trophy Wife Book 1) by L.M. Mountford – Review by Liz Vrchota

Forbidden Desire (Confessions of a Trophy Wife, #1)Forbidden Desire by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I never question whether to read a LM Mountford novel or not. I usually just dive in blind head first and see what will happen because he often writes short and sweet as well as sensual and sexy novels that blow me away. This one I will admit I struggled with to a small extent. I just guess I wanted things to wrap up differently for these two characters, but it sort of makes sense with keeping to the short read tradition. I love how I can pick up one of these novels and enjoy it in an hour or two and bam I am done with the story. No dragging it out and making you wait for the rest of the story. Sometimes I just need an easy quick read to break up my monotony and these always do that for me. I loved Elizabeth and Hugh together and these two will set your kindle on FIRE I can promise you that. If you can deal with an abbreviated ending this is the book for your next rainy Sunday afternoon.

The Lord is lust is back again with another short, hot read! I really like this author; he never fails to entertain me with his hot and sultry reads! There is an undeniable attraction between Elizabeth and her son’s best friend! It might be a taboo subject for some people but the chemistry between the two of them was off the charts! This might have been a short read but it had everything in and more to make an exciting read!
If you are looking for a short read with a good spice level then Forbidden Desire is the book for you!!

Forbidden Desires: Taken by her Son’s Best Friend by L.M. Mountford is the first book in the Confessions of a Trophy Wife Series. It is an erotic tale of forbidden desires. This is an older woman/younger man situation. A bored, neglected, and lonely trophy wife is tempted by her son’s best friend who is ever so charming, confident, and gorgeous.
This is quite a short story which makes it a very quick and easy read. One you could easily get through before bed.

Thank you, L.M Mountford!

The Lord of Lust gives us Forbidden Desires: Taken by her Son’s Best Friend which is book 1 of the Confessions of a Trophy Wife series. L.M. Mountford likes to give us erotic stories that breakdown the boundaries of what is considered acceptable or not and this one does not disappoint. When a bored housewife is neglected by a wandering and non-attentive husband decides to visit her friend she is soon face to face with forbidden fruit. Will she fall for the charms of this confident young man or not? This is a very very short story so doesn’t take long to read at all. Dare to read this erotic tale and you won’t be disappointed.

The story Forbidden Desires: Taken by her Son’s Best Friend (Confessions of a Trophy Wife Book 1) by L.M. Mountford is a steamy older woman/younger man story. It has plenty of passion and desire. In the story, you are introduced to Elizabeth Clarke who seems to have a perfect life. Looks however can be deceiving. She feels trapped. She also finds herself interested in Hugh Becket. High is Elizabeth’s sons’ best friend, forbidden. Read this book to find out what happens. The story kept my interest all the way through. It is a short tale that pulled me in, and I found myself reading it all in one sitting. I loved the characters of Elizabeth and Hugh. I found myself wanting to know more about them. I would recommend reading this book.

This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite. This author is fast becoming one of my go to author’s when I am looking for something steamy. This is a well written story that has characters that brought the story to life. They bring forbidden romance and steam. Elizabeth had it all except for a cheating husband. Just when she thought she would never get rid of her caged up feeling her son’s best friend comes back to town. Problem is that he is forbidden but will she be able to stay away from this hot, steamy, sexy guy? This is a shorter story that will heat up any night. It is a fast paced, engaging story that I couldn’t put down and read it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book and this author.

To all the rest of the world, Elizabeth Clarke had it all.

A successful husband. A beautiful home. And now a son off to university.

She is a perfect housewife with the perfect life.

It’s a lie.

Her husband is a lying, drinking philanderer who hates her as much as she loathes him. Her home is beautiful, but empty, nothing more than a gilded cage to keep her trapped in a world she never wanted.

That is, until he came back to town.

Hugh Becket.

Her son’s best friend.

He’s hot, young, and so forbidden.

Elizabeth knows she should stay away, but when the devil comes knocking on her door in the middle of the night, what’s a poor neglected trophy wife to do?

Forbidden Desire is a super hot older woman / younger man romance. It has a HEA, NO Cliffhanger and all the steam you have come to expect from the Lord of Lust.

The Traitor is the second book in the Underground Bad Boys Romance Series by India Kells. This is an amazing M/F/M book that has all the feels. This book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading this series in order. The first book is brilliantly written and definitely worth reading. This book is packed with hot love scenes and brings you on an emotional roller coaster. Spencer, Josie and Gage bring you into their quirky triad. It is a wonderfully written story that is full of action, adventure, suspense, heartwarming romance and heartbreaking pain. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more stories by India Kells.

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells needs to be added to your reading list as soon as possible. The book is not too lengthy and I devoured this book in a single day, and it kept my interest from start to finish. This is the second book in the series and while I always read series in order, this book can be read as a stand-alone in my opinion. India Kells is an amazing writer, who has a way of drawing in her readers. She portrays all characters flawlessly while delivering stories that are nothing short of remarkable.
Josie Baird has made some decisions in her life. She made a mistake of marrying a man who turned out to be abusive and has come to blackmail her to get his debt paid off. Josie wants nothing less that her freedom from the marriage so she is working herself almost to death, doing whatever she can to get to her goal. Spencer Knox has recently moved into her quiet small town, and took over ownership of a mechanic shop. Knox has many demons living inside of him from his upbringing and a choice that he had to make, which ultimately led to him being a traitor. He has an attraction to Josie but promises himself to keep it at bay, thinking that his demons are too much for her.
However, on a whim an old friend from his past shows up at his shop. Knox knows that he can no longer stay to the side and let Josie work and wear herself down like she has been doing for months. He becomes protective and insistent on helping her, however he can manage. The three of them become somewhat of a couple because Knox still pushes his true feelings for Josie to the side.
Is it truly easy to share someone that you want for yourself, even if you think you don’t deserve it?

by India Kells

This book definitely turns up the heat. This book is just as awesome as the first one. Spencer moved to a small town and bought a garage to get away from his past. He fights his demons on a regular basis and sees himself as a traitor. There is a woman who gets in his head as soon as he lays eyes on her. Josie who married an abusive man and is trying to get a divorce is working herself to the bone to try to achieve her freedom. Gage comes into the picture to see his old friend and to get away and that’s when things really heat up and get more intriguing. This story has more than steamy moments, it has romance, intrigue, danger, and heartache. This is definitely a must read. I highly recommend this book.

THE TRAITOR is book two in “An Underground Bad Boys Romance” series and can be read as a stand-alone.

Fast paced in both tone and time line, this terrific story is readable in one sitting. Told in third person, these characters are strong and well developed.

Sexy AF, the two male protagonists are former cage fighters who have left their old underground life to start new. The female main character has a lot to learn and these fellas are just the guys to help her get her groove back.

If you like detailed open door sex featuring MM MFM MMF this book could sure made your Sunday afternoon fly by.

Wow-what a read! The Traitor is Book #2 in the Underground Bad Boys Series by author India Kells, and boy oh boy was I not disappointed with how amazingly captivating this book was. This is a book that pulls you in until you forget everything around you and the next thing you know you have finished it. This is a very steamy, sexy romantic read with characters that demand to have their story read. I loved reading the journeys of the main characters, also with how descriptive India Kells writes her books you can’t help but feel as though you are living the story along with them. The chemistry that is within this book is undeniable.

This book had everything and more! I can’t wait to see what else is to come and also what else this author can bring! I’ll eagerly be awaiting more from India Kells.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After Wrath is the second novel in the Deadliest Sin series by Gwyn McNamee. This is my eleventh novel by this author.

Continuing where Wrath left off, it’s been a few years but are things really quiet?

Here we are introduced to the character Aleksander who wants revenge. I know he is the bad guy but I really did love reading from perspective even possibly finding a love of his own.

I don’t want to give too much away but I highly recommend reading this.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“They just woke a sleeping dragon. The years I’ve spent in the background have come to an end. It’s time to take my rightful place at the head of the family.”

This man, Aleksander, is just plain evil. Until he meets Brynn. But even her love is not enough for the dragon to change. She does bring out his caring side but this story is entitled After Wrath for a reason. There are no rainbows and unicorns in this story. Aleksander is on a mission. His mission is to avenge Saban’s death. Family comes first, no matter which Mafia family you are a part of.

I have said in my past review for McNamee, unforeseen twists. Twists that make you scream at your reading device. Twists that make you cry with sadness and with hope. McNamee is a master twist writer.

This book, well really this series, is not for the faint of heart. It is for readers that like dark, twisted, unimaginable stories. Way to go, McNamee! Looking forward to the ending?

Let me start by explaining a little about Alek. He’s dark, dangerous, violent, bloody, destructive, and…I love it! The man has serious issues and takes way too much enjoyment out of what he does and it seriously turns me on! Crazy right??? Gwyn has the uncanny ability to make you completely fall in love with her characters, no matter how gritty, dirty, and bad they are! She has quickly become one of my absolute favorite authors. Even in a quick read such as this one, the story line is so detailed, raw, and emotional that you see and feel every word she writes.

This is book two in the Deadliest Sin series and they must be read in order. Book one left me in shock. Book two, After Wrath, picks up with Aleksander seeking revenge on those who he feels have wronged him. Seeking to unleash the wrath of the Dragon and no one will stand in the way of him reaching his goal. The ending was completely unexpected and left me full of anticipation with how this can all possibly play out! The only thing I know for certain is that it will most certainly not disappoint! This series is gritty, violent, powerfully emotional, thought provoking, and sexy! I can’t wait to delve into Book 3 and see what journey the author takes us on! As is everything else I have read by this author, this is a 5-star must read series!

This book is a quick read that you won’t put down from page one to the end! It’s definitely NOT your typical happy ending love story but it WILL make you travel through the vast array of human emotions! It’s violent and bloody and a spectacular example of what we are capable of, and what we are willing to sacrifice, in an effort to keep our loved ones safe. I fell in love with these characters. Even after I finished the book, the feelings just simmered in my chest. That anyone could love another person this much… Go ahead and grab this one! You won’t be disappointed. Oh Gwyn…This is one of my absolute favorite, must-read authors but man…she wrecks me emotionally and mentally every single time!

Surviving Wrath was an exceptionally well written conclusion to the Deadliest Sin series but I want more! I need more! I’m still trying to rationalize with myself that this is truly the end. And what an ending it was! I’m not sure if I’m happy, sad, angry, straight up pissed off, or all of the above. I don’t know exactly how I feel but that’s the thing with this author, she ALWAYS makes you feel!

This is book 3 of this series and they must be read in order. Trust me, once you start book 1, you won’t stop until the last words of book 3! Every minute spent reading will have you on the edge of your seat, heart racing, impatient to find out what is going to happen next. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters, whether they are good or bad, they become a part of you. You find yourself wishing for certain outcomes for them that they may or may not get. You’ll be happy and heartbroken at the same time. I won’t go into any details about the storyline because I don’t want to give anything away, but you definitely need to read this series! Gwyn McNamee is a stellar writer and never, ever disappoints! More than 5 stars from me!!!!

India Kells really kicked up the steam with this second installment of the Underground Bad Boys Romance series. The Traitor has to be my favorite book of India Kells that I have read yet. I love the dark and twisty storyline laced with passion and emotion that can’t be topped except if it were to be real life. Be prepared for steamy m/f/m scenes so make sure that is your cup of tea, if so this is one of the better written scenarios that I have read.

Spencer has not had an easy life, most definitely not the one that he would like to have either. Things may not be so easy even now, when a mysterious woman brings his past back into light. Josie is killing herself with work to try and undo the damage the past and terrible ex caused her. The new man in town will bring about even more change. And then there is Gage, my personal favorite. He is running from the past and finds himself a little something to occupy his time and mind in the meantime. Unfortunately, Gage will have more struggle and once again the one who doesn’t belong. These three will light up your kindles and keep you on your toes until the very end. I can’t wait to find out what the next book will hold!

With such a fast paced conclusion, it left me with a lot of questions and I hope the author may come back to this series to fill in the blanks. The Traitor by India Kells is the second book in the Underground Bad Boys series. I love India Kells stories. She is an amazing storyteller. She can hold my attention with her words and the images that I can see in my mind’s eye. I am not one for steaming sex scenes but this story made me rethink that view point. This story is about Spencer and what he has been apart of socially. He has been on the down low since he betrayed his boss. He sees Josie and he wants to keep his distance because he believes she is not right for him. He was doing just that until he sees someone from his past. Will Spencer keep his distance or will he take Josie under his wing? Will the person from his past get in the way? Read on to see what happens.

DO NOT READ THIS SERIES OUT OF ORDER!!!

Ok that headline is a little shouty, but you will be doing yourself a disservice if you read this series out of order.

Surviving Wrath is the third and final installment of “The Deadliest Sin Series”. The series is told in multiple points of view which makes the read very interesting. I thought I knew what was going on – I really did – and I’m not sure if I would make the same or different decisions when faced with … well read the book to find out.

Now that the series is complete, I am going to go back and read all three from beginning to end as each picks up where the last left off. The flow of the series is strong and perfectly paced. Emotions (including wanting to throw my Kindle against a wall) were felt the whole way through.

A note about the writer… I read the “Slip Series” and assumed she was a rom-com author. I read “The Savage Series” and assumed that was as dark as she could go, that is not the case. I have no idea what she will write next, but I for one will be one clicking as soon as it has a title.

I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES AND THIS AUTHOR!!! (wow that was shouty too)

Its still about Konstandin & Rea being in hiding from the Mafia. They are still trying to escape with their lives from those that want revenge. The Traitor by India Kells is the second book in the Underground Bad Boys series.

This is Knox’s story and it grabbed me at the beginning. There was something about Knox that drew me in. He has his demons from the past and needs to find a better way to release them when they get too loud.

Josie has too much weight on her young shoulders. Having to fix problems that aren’t hers is aging her a lot.

I have read several other books by Ms. Kells and have enjoyed every one of them and looking forward to keeping up with this series.

Surviving Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 3)Surviving Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Surviving Wrath is the third and final heart-pounding instalment in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. So, before I go any further with my review, I am going to make a confession. I HATE writing reviews for Gwyn McNamee’s books- why you might ask? Because her stories are so #@%$*!^ good that I really have trouble coming up with the words to do them the justice they deserve, that’s why!
ARGGGGH this book flung me around on an emotional rollercoaster ride- right from the beginning. The story starts off with a bang, and we jump right into the action. I wanted to hit the pause button, but I was too afraid that I’d miss something. So the high-octane adrenaline fueled action pulled me in and then held me captive while everything unfolded.
We’ve been on quite a journey since starting out on book #1. So much has happened, the books really feel much longer than the novellas they are- and I mean that in a good way. While the books may be short in length, they are in no way lacking in content!
This book is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence. Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact of each individual book as well as the overall storyline…
After the climactic ending to the previous book, I really though I knew where the story was headed- but I definitely should have known better! Gwyn McNamee always twists things in a direction I don’t fully expect. There are some things that happened in this book with certain characters which had my heart in my mouth- and left me cursing out Ms. McNamee. And, if she is reading this, she will know exactly what I’m referring to! I had expectations, and then Ms. McNamee snuck up behind me and smacked me over the back the head and said think again B*@%h!…..And I have to admit now, in hindsight, and after numerous readings- it was the best direction to take the story!
So, how far would you be willing to go to protect, or avenge, a loved one? Would you let wrath lead you? Would you fall into its bloody embrace? This story explores this concept- and we see what happens when a monster and a dragon go head to head (and no, this isn’t a paranormal story)- just read it and you’ll know what I mean!
There is sooooo much more I would like to say, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. So, if you like compelling, dark, and intense reads- with complex characters and multi-layered storylines- then this is definitely the story/series for you! What are you waiting for? Dive in!
Brilliant!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Angela Hayes

After Wrath (The Deadliest Sin #2)After Wrath by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“It’s not about wanting.
It’s about needing.
Need for revenge.
Need for violence.
Need to let wrath consume me.”

After Wrath is the second riveting book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is part of a series and is not meant to be read as a standalone. You won’t get the full impact of the story, or series, if you don’t read the books in sequence.
Each book is told from a different perspective, which really helps build the tension, suspense, and impact. I love the way Ms. McNamee wove this story/series- she left me guessing as to which direction she was taking the story, and series- and I was anxiously reading along to discover what would happen. There were quite a few shocks, twists, and surprising developments- which is quite a feat considering how short each book is.
As I said in my review for the first book- this might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. I loved the complexity of the storyline, and of the characters. Being able to weave such clever twists, and create such complexities in such a short space is really a testament to Gwyn McNamee’s writing prowess!!
This is a hunt for revenge. Our character is consumed by his rage, his wrath is palpable! We are pulled into his vortex of rage and death-dealing mission, where we get a front row seat to all the action; from Pittsburgh, to Cuba, and Argentina- he leaves a bloody trail of violence in his wake. But will his obsession be his undoing?
The epilogue of this book made me sit up and take notice- the first time I read this book I was beside myself- I could not wait for the next book to be released to find out if what I thought was actually what was going on- because you never really know with Gwyn McNamee behind the wheel. And even though I have read this book several times now, the epilogue still makes my heart pound!
I’ve said this before, and I will say it again- Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever!
One of the best things about this series, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, is that all the books are available to read right now- so no waiting between books!!! #WINNING
Bravo!

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee!
