This is the second book in the Grave Digger Academy series. I would recommend reading the first before starting this one. Following on from the previous book, Makayla returns to school to news of the inter-academy competition bringing with is more problems for Makayla and her friends. This is a short but fun read nonetheless. I enjoyed finding out more about the way the academies run e.g., funding, as this added a little extra to the story and made for an interesting storyline. I was happy to reconnect with old characters and find out more about them as they develop throughout the competition. As with the first book, I only wish it had been longer. But the author has done a good job and I am sure I will enjoy the next book in the series.

No one wants to end up at Grave Digger Academy, but here are Makayla and her friends again. Mary Meet was supposed to be taking over at the Academy. But, things change and no one knows why. This short addition to the series has me wanting to read what happens next. Makayla and her friends have puzzles to solve while working together.

It’s getting really close to finals week and Joey has never made poorer grades in her life. She’s always been a great student but lately has started having dreams that are overtaking her every thought. There are mysterious fires happening all around her and her roommate has been missing for quite some time. She gets these inklings that draw her near to the scenes and she finds herself getting a little too involved sometimes. Is she going to be able to pull off passing grades for this semester?
This is a great book. I was hooked from the first chapter. There are portions of the book that seem like they might be small cliffhangers and you’re on the edge of your seat until you can turn the page and get more of the story. The descriptions are so good it’s like you are right there next to Joey. There is adventure, paranormal activity, and twisty mysteries throughout. This is the second book in the series. Having not read the first book, there were times I wish I had more background on certain things but enough was given to not lose the story. I will go back and read the first book though!
What a lovely rom-com story of two unexpected people crossing paths. Claire is an heiress and most people just see the pretty face, not the brains behind it. Nick is a waiter and going to art school, that is if he doesn’t lose his grad school scholarship. The two cross paths, they live in totally different worlds and don’t think that they can cross the social line. So of course they start a friendship and a secret fling. There are many books with one rich and one poor character out there and I liked that it wasn’t the stereotypical rich man! The author did a great job making the characters real and relatable. I was hanging on and flipping the pages hoping for the happily ever after. I will be looking to see if this author has more to read!
This is the first book in the Grave Digger Academy series. This is a series that I’ve been wanting to read for a while now, so I was happy to finally get the chance. Although short, this was still a fun, enjoyable read. I enjoyed the plot and felt the overall story was written well, creating a magical world to get sucked into. I liked the characters, particularly Makayla. I felt for her when she started school at a place she had not intended and starts off so isolated. Starting with disappointment is was interesting to see what would happen as the role of the Grave Digger was revealed. I can see a lot of potential in this series, and book 1 was a good introduction into the world. I only wish the book was longer and went more in depth in some areas, but overall considering the length, the author did a good job and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Grave Digger Academy IV is the most recent Grave Digger Academy series release. This book picks up shortly where the third book left off. For the most enjoyment, take my advice and read the earlier books before getting into this one. Makayla has returned to school, and there have been a lot of changes. There is a new headmistress introducing a new curriculum, her allies are gone, and she is the most disliked of students. Does Makayla have what it takes to figure out all of the underlying happenings at the school and in her world? The story is quickly paced to keep you on your toes. I have enjoyed learning more about the world of the grave diggers as Makayla has learned. I look forward to the next book in the series to see what happens next.

It is the festive season, and everyone seems to be happy, filled with love and ready to spend some quality time with those around them, but is this the same on every planet?
Story number one “Twas The Fight Before Christmas” involves a family gathering where one of the guests is more familiar with fighting than with singing carols, but will that change this year?
Story number two “Home For Christmas” talks about the importance of family, home and love as one woman’s meditation leads to unexpected consequences, but will she learn anything from this experience?
Story number three “Unwrapping The True Spirit” deals with a non-earthbound festival where gifts are exchanged and love abounds, but when one billionaire forgets to buy a gift, can he figure out what the perfect gift for his mate could be before time runs out?
Story number four “Christmas Trapping” Baxin and Miaxa are two aliens who are protecting an Earth family, the Maddox’s, but when they learn about Santa Claus, they are determined to stop him in his tracks, but will they succeed, or will a peaceful Christmas reign?
Story number five “The Winter Queen” is a charming story of one man and his big heart as he tries to win over one which has been cold as ice for a long time, but can he really melt it, or will his become just as cold?
Story number six “Retired But Not Forgotten” is all about recapturing life as a retired detective takes to the streets once again as a PI with a cheerful partner and a determination to solve her cases, but can this lonely and jaded woman be won over and find joy in the Christmas season once again?
In Story number seven “Sunshine’s War” it is WWII and one South African reconnaissance pilot is severely injured during service, but when he wakes up being nursed by a stranger, will he be able to find a new sunshine, or will he lose it all?
Story number eight “Wicked Beginnings” amid a works Christmas party, two colleagues have feelings they try to hide and bury deep within themselves, however, when they finally have a chance under the mistletoe, will they take it, or miss out again?
Story number nine “Magical Mayhem” a bartender finds out that her job is much more than meets the eye when Halloween comes around and new responsibilities are thrust upon her as a Keeper, but can she figure out how to corral the magical creatures who frequent the establishment, or will magical mayhem reign?
In story number ten “Seshka’s Gift” one girl must overcome her past to create a new future by learning that adversity can be a strength, especially when things go drastically wrong in the Mageguild Academy during the Harvest Moon, but can she do it?
Finally, story number eleven “Searching For Thanksgiving” tells the tale of a group of young Dragonlings who go on an adventurous quest to find Thanksgiving, but with only half a story and one map to go on, can these youngsters save the day, or will danger find them first?
This anthology spins these short stories with festive flair which will envelop you in feel good vibes and sweet romances from different points of view while you go on a whirlwind adventure through the universe.
The shocking turns were definitely shocking. My gosh this book had me feeling so many different emotions! Sadness, anger, hopeful…all of it. The topics in this book are rather dark and heavy. Tina has gone through quite a bit of stuff in her life and I feel for her so much! As much as this book made me sad and upset, I did enjoy it. Definitely kept my attention.

Carrie’s Flight(Grandma’s Closet) by Lois Wickstrom is a fun book that stokes the imagination and also teaches a lesson. When Carrie’s grandmother moves away she finds a box with antique wings. Carrie gets to engage in trying to make the wings work. In this story, we get to see a beautiful bond between grandmother and grandchild. We also get a lesson on birds. This book has beautiful illustrations. My sons loved reading this and imagining what it would be like to fly. This is a heartwarming story that had me missing my grandmother.

Note: This is not a standalone book. In order to understand what’s going on, you need to read the previous books in the series.
After things slowed down a little in book three, this book picks up the pace again. A lot of changes have happened and Makayla is embroiled in mystery. She’s cut off from much of her support system and doesn’t know who to trust. This story will have you leaning into the twists and turns as Makayla learns more about herself and the academy.
Phenomenal world building, superb characters. Fabulous read!

This was an enjoyable, sweet Irish romance which kept me happily turning the pages. The author whisks us away to the small town of Claremore in Ireland, where the residents of the town are friendly, if slightly nosy, and the town has a magical feel to it. Claire Francis works in her family’s bakery, but she now longs to open her own shop and make her dreams come true. However, her mother is not ready to retire, and won’t let Claire explore her creative side as she’s very traditional. Claire has other things to deal with when she gets embroiled in pre-wedding dramas, ahead of Brigid Cleary’s wedding. However, its Brigid’s brother Finn who is on her mind, as he gets her to question her safe and uneventful life and pushes her to take a chance on the attraction they feel for each other. Unfortunately, he is only in town for the wedding and spends the rest of his time on the water, which Claire is terrified of. As the couple grow closer Claire has a secret from her past which she can’t escape. Just as she fears she will never have both love and success a magical gift helps her to unlock the path to her dreams. This was a lovely, heartwarming romance with an opposites attract theme which had me engaged throughout. I loved the main characters, both Claire and Finn are likeable and relatable, and their chemistry came across in the story. The setting was brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative and I loved the storyline with its touch of magic. It definitely had the feel-good factor and I look forward to returning to Claremore soon!

Orenda is the second book in the Latitude Series. I love the writing style of this author. It’s easy for me to get lost in the story. It feels natural. This series gets you thinking. I believe somewhere at the end of the book it said the Orenda is an Iroquois belief that all natural objects and people possess a mystical energy. I personally believe that’s true. I think everyone has gift and some people use it more than others some people can tap into it and some ppl choose to ignore it. I think Caitlin uses her gift very well in this series.

This is the 4th book in the Grave Digger Academy Series. This is a story that you definatwly need to read in order to get the full details of our characters and what is going on in their world. This is another story filled with secrets, magic, adventure, danger, and the constant battle of knowing who you can and can’t trust.
Makayla has returned to school but things have changed and not for the better. Everyone who was her friend is now keeping her distance from her. The new headteacher is trying to keep her and her magic under control but putting in place all these rules to work against her. And there is a another secret she has to uncover to get to the bottom of who she is, and why people are trying to control her. With her old friends gone and new people watching every move she makes will she be able to uncover the secrets all on her own?
This series keeps getting better and better and seeing the story unravel with the added parts of Makayla’s past life and family history coming to light a little at a time it makes it a captivating, magical read.

This was a quick, cute read! My son was only disappointed that it’s winter here and there are not as many birds that we can watch outside. He laughed at my attempts of the bird sounds. The facts at the end of the story were interesting and a great addition to the book.
Damian & Bryanna Great read with some action, suspense, danger, and, of course, romance. Even though this book has the requisite steamy bits, I liked the story line more. It’s a fast-paced tale so it’s easy to get sucked in and read it all in one sitting.
Dereck & Layla I’m going to start off by saying that the repeated use of the endearment ‘Princess’ grated on me. Pretty sure that’s a personal preference thing, though. Outside of that, the story is pretty good. Definitely full of the drama, danger, intrigue, and steamy scenes you would expect to find in a mafia romance.

This is a great book for parents wanting to teach their young children how to keep their dogs from being board. The rhyming scheme keeps the book simplistic, but interesting while the pictures are beautiful and full of adorable dogs. Porter and Midge are two adorable pups who explore the world with their human companions. While the foursome are out exploring the world together, the children decide to ask others for suggestions on how to keep Porter and Midge engaged and happy in life. The suggestions found in this book could also be good suggestions for young children to try with their own family pets to try and find new ways to spend time with their furry friend.

This book is book 2 in a series, and though it can be read as a standalone, this series is so good that you won’t want to.
Authors Regan Christenson and Pavlo Barislov are on a book tour for their newest books when their publicist, Isla, suddenly tries to force Regan to meet with the wife of a senator for a private book signing. Regan wants no part of this meeting because she is morally opposed to the senator’s stances on most things, and chief among them is his view on women working outside of the home once they are married and have children. As a single mother to a medically fragile child, Regan has worked since her divorce shortly before her daughter’s birth. When Regan starts to receive threats, has her room broken into, and even is physically harmed due to her resistance to the meeting, Pavlo steps in to help her. Pavlo’s day job is working with some of his fellow former Navy SEALs doing private security and investigations. With this book, nothing is quite what you think it is, even when you think you’ve figured it all out, there is still a twist to keep you guessing.

This is the third book in the Grave Digger Academy series. I have read all three so far and recommend reading them in order. It doesn’t give enough back story for you to fully understand what is going on if you don’t.
Makayla and her brothers expect the academy to be full to the brim with new students this year! Only when they get there, it’s anything but full. Something major has changed over the summer. Her brothers are forced to leave, but she must stay. She learns a lot about herself this year and a new insight into what’s really going on. Will it be too much for her?

Humor, action, danger, and intrigue, this book will keep you guessing what’s next. After Curtis witnesses a stabbing by a member of a local crime family who is then killed in jail, Curtis himself becomes a target. His bodyguard is Lina Cheung, a member of his band’s security team. Will Lina and Curtis be able to keep things strictly professional or will they be drawn to one another? This book is just as good as the first 3 in this series. love them all!

This is the perfect easy-to-read Christmas romance book. The story is easy to follow as you learn about Anne and her family values, the previous ties to Andy and what he is willing to do to get close to her. There is everything from family loyalty to forgiveness and setting aside personal feelings to see your loved ones be happy. A quick and easy read with a sweet ending. This clean romance book will bring a smile to your face. I definitely recommend reading this sweet book. It is part of a series but was easy to read as a standalone as well.

Triple Trouble at Amberwood is the fourth book in The Amberwood Hall Ballet School Series. This is a wonderfully written children’s Paranormal/Fantasy that is aimed for children ages 8-13 but young children and adults can enjoy it as well. Get ready to be taken on a adventure as Lauren and the gang are on another ghostly adventure where friendships are put to the test. There is plenty of drama, ghosts, mystery, friendship and so much more. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. We look forward to reading more from this Author.

This is an absolutely fantastic duet that you simply won’t be able to put down!! Auctioned: The leading lady of this story , Bryanna, is dragged into a dangerous and volatile situation in order to protect her family who she cares very deeply about. Along comes seriously dominant and deadly gorgeous Damian to find and rescue her. This is so not in her plans when she has her family to protect. Immediately Damian is not only wanting to protect Bryanna for the sake of his job but also because of his instant attraction to her. Bryannas very obvious submissive side calls to her brave protector.
I think the fact that there were times when I wanted to bop the main characters Damian and Bryanna up side the head for not just talking to each other, shows how creatively the wonderful Author Via Mari formed her characters to make us care about them. They have heart and depth that just makes you want to keep reading. The book presents both characters sides of the story all the way through giving us much better insight into the various situations that come along.
Relentless: Relentless Brings us the story of Layla, a very strong willed determined woman, hiding a genuine soft tender side, who is looking for her sister and the man who killed her cousin. Along comes the Super hot, determined and VERY dominant Dereck. He wants to protect her and be with her but knows she is hiding things from him. Lies is one thing he does not tolerate but at the same time he knows trust must be earnt, he just hopes he can earn her trust before its too late.
Do yourself a huge favour and grab a copy of this book today!! You wont be disappointed

This is the 6th book in the Jorja Knight series and can be read as a standalone. This book follows Jorja who I very much enjoyed as our main character. She was funny and smart and an all around awesome main character. We follow her while she on the hunt for her missing friend in an unfamiliar city. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and hopefully more book in this series! I would recommend to a friend! Happy Reading!

This is the second book in the in the Sinful Duets series and is split into two books, Auctioned and Relentless .
Auctioned – Book 3 When you have wanted that man to come into your life and you become his whole life, well I thought I could not have that until Damian walked into my life but will the situation cause me to lose him.
Bryanna is the niece of a rich socialite Jenny Torzial but when she becomes the embroiled with in a Sex Trafficking ring will she be lost forever or will her white knight come and save her from the gang and herself.
Damian is part of the elite group of Billionaire Bodyguards who’s job normally takes on the mundane of the rich and famous but when he is enrolled to find Jenny’s niece who has vanished can he keep his feels in check long enough to find her.
Omg I loved every word and was engulfed into this world hook, line and sinker. First off Damian has been added the ever growing list of book boyfriends and my god he can dominant me anytime he wants lol. The start of the story slows draws you into the world that Bryanna has been brought into and with the secondary characters this brings this world into the for front. As the theme revolves around the seedy world of sex trafficking it is written with sensitivity and humanity. I loved the strong, brave characters of Bryanna and her true spirit is shown within the story and with the Damian characters just add that bit of spice and sexual chemistry that sizzled underneath and when it finally exploded it was brilliant well scripted writing.
Relentless – Book 4 When you are caught in a world of total control and no way out, can a knight in tainted armour rescue her from this dark world?
Layla is an independent woman, she takes no crap but there is a secret which haunts her but can she survive in this world or will it all come crashing down around her.
Dereck is part of an elite security team but when he sees Layla he can not get her out of his head, but can they both forge ahead and because friends as well as lovers.
This story is full of drama and intrigue which the chemistry of these two characters jump off the page and with all the tension and underlining story makes this story fly off the page. These characters are well developed and full of passion and dark secrets which are brilliantly to read and discover. As this is in a series it would help to read the other books but this can be read as a independent story but to be fair who would not read this series.

We got to see both sides of the coin so to speak. In the first part we have the relationship of Jay and Sasha. Jay is head of security for s billionaire and Sasha is a ballet dancer. Even though he looks tough and had the tough guy demeanor, he has a soft spot for Sasha. She as a character has a hard time deciphering it, but we as readers can see it clear as day. She gets herself into a pickle and gets on the wrong side of the Mafia. That brings out Jay’s protective side and there is nothing that he wouldn’t do to protect the woman he loves. In the second part we have Matt and Marenah. Matt is undercover and has been captured by the Chicago Mafia. He and Marenah meet when she is also captured. Her grandfather belonged to the Russian Mafia and she landed in some hot water when she went looking for answers. Due to how they treat women being held, Matt makes it his mission to protect her. But she has secrets that could mean the end for her and whoever she is cohoots with. When they make an escape it seems they are free, but that is just not the case for Marenah. Now she has two targets on her back and has to figure out how to stay alive. This was a good book and I didn’t want to put it down! I like how different authors approach writing about Mafia families. They are all very similar but each one has their own take on what goes on behind the scenes. I can’t wait to read book two of this series.

View all my reviews

Jade had recently moved to Rhanaz with her aunt and uncle when she became orphaned. Prince Naseer had recently been in a motorcycle accident which left him bedridden and seemed to turn his thought darker than they already were. When Jade ended up in his home she came across him while looking for the bathroom. He hadn’t been letting anyone in to visit him, not even his best friends, but something about Jade made him ask her to sit with him. She was able to pull him out of the darkness he was being sucked into and their bond started to become stronger, their friendship grew, and their attraction to one another certainly became romantic. He being of royal blood and she being a commoner, his father has issues with their blossoming relationship. Even though he could see with his very own eyes that Jade was doi g Naseer good, he was plotting a way to get rid of her for good. Although they fought like any normal couple, maybe a bit more due to the age difference, they were determined to be together. I did enjoy this book and if you pick it up I hope you do as well. I did find it slow going at first but once the story picked up and started flowing it was hard to put down. I look forward to seeing what kind of growth the characters have and how their relationship progresses in book two.

View all my reviews

Akinosho – Review by Charlisa Wahtomy-Alba
This was a great 5 star read. This couple and their story pulled me right in. When Curtis sees something he shouldn’t have his world gets turned upside down. When someone from his past, Lina, is brought in as security, things get very interesting. I devoured this book wanting to see what was coming and if Lina can keep him safe. There is suspense, mystery, romance and so much more. All of the characters added a great element to the story. You can read as a stand alone but I suggest reading the whole series. 1-click and get started today.

Alam – Review by Michelle Austin
This is the first anthology I’ve read that I enjoyed each story within it. Two of my favorites were Wicked Beginnings with chemistry that popped off the page, and Magical Mayhem that made me laugh at times with the Halloween shenanigans! This book has definitely helped kickstart my festive spirit right in time too. There are plenty of adventures, mystery, romance, and some paranormal themes throughout these stories. While I have heard of some of these authors before, I was introduced to a few new ones which I am incredibly excited about! I can’t wait to look up each author and see what other adventures I can take. There is most definitely a variety of stories for everyone here, so don’t pass it up! I highly recommend this collection of holiday stories.
