The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior Series Book 1) by Griffin Brady-Review by Elena Tobar

The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior, #1)The Heart of a Hussar by Griffin Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book drew me right in from the very first page and transported me back in time. This story is full of battlefields, action, a final deathbed request, romance and so many obstacles. Watching feelings develop between Jacek and Oliwia was magical. Watching it finally all click in Jacek’s head as he realized that it was always Oliwia was comical. As sometimes happens in life, it may be too little too late. He has no idea what’s been transpiring in his absence and that Oliwia is forced to make decisions she would never willingly make to keep those she loves safe. This book ends in a cliffhanger that has me counting the days until I can read the next part of this story and find out what happens next!

Practically Pagan-An Alternative Guide To Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie-Review by Elena Tobar

Practically Pagan - An Alternative Guide to Magical LivingPractically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is like a close friend and a casual conversation. I really love the vibe of this book. It has inspiration for any practitioner new and old alike. Her advice is like a good friend sitting down and having a casual conversation with you over a warm cup of cocoa. There are stories of the authors own personal experiences sprinkled throughout which makes the book more relatable. A lot of her tips are great for everyday life as well and can help to usher out some of the everyday toxicity that is unfortunately so prevalent in society. This is a must read for any pagan looking to strengthen their relationship with divinity and improve their personal practice.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is absolutely amazing! I enjoyed the first part of Red’s story and his background with Cher and the MC but part 2 really blew me away. It deals with some really deep issues that I wasn’t expecting but drew me right in from the very first page. The author is amazing for handling such a sensitive issue and handling it so sensitively. It really helped me to see things that I wasn’t very familiar with from a different perspective and it made me love this book all the more. This book is full of romance and action as well and has a twist that had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. The ending was so perfect that it made me tear up and swoon. You should definitely read part 1 first because then you’ll be more familiar with who everyone is and it will make a whole lot more sense. This book is a definite must read!

Strega - Magic: The Spirit Never DiesStrega – Magic: The Spirit Never Dies by Lynne Russell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is utterly captivating. I was immediately drawn into this story from the very first page. I was cheering for Annie the entire time that she was on a fascinating journey of self discovery. This book really highlights how important it is to listen to your intuition and to always follow your heart. Just because the life you want might not be what’s expected of you it’s never to late to change the course of your life and take a different path. It can be so hard to reach for happiness but it’s worth the risk and the connection between Annie and Ian is sheer magic! The flashbacks to an older time and exploring family history was so fascinating. This book is unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I absolutely adored it! This is definitely a must read story of romance and self discovery that transcends time itself.

Broken Chains by Karina Kantas-Review by Elena Tobar

Broken ChainsBroken Chains by Karina Kantas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book really highlights how one choice that seems minor at the time, can change your entire life in ways you never imagined. Liz is living a normal life that she considers to be boring and lacking in excitement. On a quest to stir up a little excitement and write a book, she stirs up far more than she bargained for. She learns some deep, dark, terrible family secrets that leave her the victim of kidnapping and horrific torture. Her path eventually leads her to Marco, who ends up being the one light in her life, that is everything she never realized she needed. This book has so much betrayal, danger, action, romance and deep soul mate love that it had me hooked from the very first page. There were so many twists that I didn’t see coming but the ending is absolutely fitting for a King and his Queen. There are some really dark scenes in this book that made my heart break for poor Liz and for Marco as well but it just made the ending all the sweeter.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you haven’t read book 1 in this series, you definitely need to. This one is just as much, if not even more of a tear jerker then the first part of Tori and Will’s story is. I went through so many tissues reading this story, the author does such an amazing job of giving a full picture of what a struggle battling cancer is and just how messy it gets. It made my heart so happy that Tori was there for Will every step of the way encouraging him and doing everything humanely possible for him even though she didn’t know if he would survive. They both open up their hearts and love and fight with everything they have not knowing just how much time they might have left together. Their love story is breathtaking, and the kind of love that everyone hopes for. Tori and Will go through so much together and this book is definitely an emotional roller coaster ride where I was scared to see what would happen next but also hopeful and the ending was so beautiful that it was worth all the tears along the way.

The Box: A Greek Gods Urban Fantasy Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 4)The Box: A Greek Gods Urban Fantasy Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m so glad that Gargonita and Pretty Kitty are in the final installment of this series. If you haven’t read the first three, run don’t walk to get them! Each one is just as amazing as the one before it and it gives you all of the background that you need to really immerse yourself in this amazing book. Vanessa faces what is to be her toughest test ever and there are so many jealous mothers conspiring to see that she fails. She’s separated from her three loves and really has to draw on all of her inner strength to pull through this. Poor Aroz has been through so much already, seeing him suffering yet again was heartbreaking.
All three men have to face off against their evil mothers and find a way to prevail against them once and for all. I was cheering for the guys for standing up to them and cheering for Vanessa as she fully came into who she was always meant to be. The ending is the most perfect ending I could have ever hoped for and it pulled the whole series together absolutely perfectly! This is definitely a book not to be missed, and a series that I will enjoy reading again and again in the future because it is just that amazing!

Caspian is such a broken man inside when he appears to the outside world to have it all. Now his Uncle is dying and has forced him to marry to keep his fortune. When he runs into an old childhood friend that is in a desperate situation with her ill mother, he thinks they can solve each other’s problems. It doesn’t take long for Caspian and Paisley to realize that there is no way either of them can keep it strictly a professional arrangement. Yes, there is undeniable hot sizzling chemistry between the two of them but there is so much more than that. Finding out about Caspian’s childhood broke my heart and made his current life up to reconnecting with Paisley make so much sense. Paisley makes him want to be her Prince, her Knight in Shining Armor, even though he uses less than completely honest measures to try to show her how much she means to him. It all blows up in his face and he quickly does everything he can to make it up to her and beg her forgiveness. Can love really conquer all? The ending was epic and absolutely took my breath away! I cannot wait to read the rest of the Titans series.

Caught in Midnight Shadows (Caught series, #4)Caught in Midnight Shadows by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It has it all-romance, suspense, tragedy and betrayal and it had me right on the edge of my seat from the first page to the last. Brant has been through so much and he isn’t looking for love when he embarks on a mystery journey that Aubrey also finds herself being drawn into. She’s been tied down for so many years and doesn’t want to get attached to Brant when fate brings them together. He has kids and a ranch and that’s not what she’s looking for but deep down inside she can’t help developing feelings for him. Sometimes the very thing you run the hardest from is what you need the most, but sometimes you don’t realize that until it’s too late. This book had so many twists and turns but the ending made so much sense and just fit perfectly with the whole story. It was definitely swoon worthy! If you’re looking for a book to suck you right in, this is one you don’t want to miss.

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood-Review by Elena Tobar

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Griff is a big, muscular, tattooed teddy bear with a huge heart. He never thought he would find love again after losing his first love tragically. Then Breckin walks into his life and he’s genuinely smiling and happy again. He can’t stay away and the way that he calls her Jelly Bean just melts me. She’s been so hurt and embarrassed by her ex husband that she isn’t remotely interested in a relationship but she can’t help but be drawn to him. He looks so gruff on the outside but once she actually takes the time to get to know him she realizes what an amazing person he is as he wriggles his way firmly into her heart. Griff has a mee maw that is laugh out loud hilarious! I really love that this book has so much laughter mixed in with heart melting romance. There is a big tragic twist in the story that I wasn’t expecting but the ending is absolutely beautiful. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A.S. Roberts-Review by Elena Tobar

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luke and Nikki fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Poor Luke started out his life as an innocent baby that had been abandoned by his mother. Then he tragically loses his wife and is left to raise his beautiful daughter Brielle. Luckily his band mates step up and help her to have a family but Luke and Brielle are still missing something very important-a special female influence. The way that Luke first comes across Nikki made me burst out laughing! It was definitely fate and perhaps even Cherise that brought the two of them together the way it did. The way that Luke got so upset when he thought that her teenage crush had been on Cody was so adorable. They both try to fight their growing attraction but there’s no denying how perfectly they fit together. This book made me swoon, tear up and laugh out loud and the ending absolutely took my breath away with its perfection.

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After Book 2) by Stephanie Harrell-Review by Elena Tobar

Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer (Curvy Ever After, #2)Surprise Baby for Mr. Fischer by Stephanie Harrell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such a beautiful love story. This book absolutely blew me away from the very first page. I really like that Harper is not a size two, she has curves and Lincoln is immediately taken in by her beauty. It doesn’t take him getting to know her before he finds her attractive. He is attracted to her physically and then also mentally once he does get to know her. Harper had such a rough childhood being bullied because of her weight and she doesn’t think that anyone, much less someone as hot as Lincoln would find her so physically attractive. It doesn’t take him long to get her to see her physical beauty as well and to realize that it’s just as amazing as her inner beauty. Lincoln had a really rough childhood and doesn’t feel that he could be a good father but he takes the leap and starts to realize that not only can he do this but he wants it with all of his heart. They face some pretty rough obstacles along the way but the ending is all I could have hoped for. If you’re an absolute die heard romance fan like I am, this is one book you definitely won’t want to miss.

The love between Kat and Phillip is something that time can’t even stand in the way of. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this book to see where their love story took them and I was beyond thrilled! This is such a beautiful, truly epic love story. There is one scene where young Phillip does exactly what old Phillip once did and punched obnoxious Spencer right in the nose! Man did he deserve it and it made me burst out laughing! Phillip and Kat have the kind of forever love that people can only dream of. They have to face so many obstacles on their way to happiness and this book really had my emotions all over the place. I couldn’t put it down once I picked it up because there was so much suspense mixed in with the romance and I just had to know what would happen next. The ending is absolutely perfect and made me smile with its beauty.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

From best friends to the love of a lifetime, this book drew me right in from the very first page. Joe and Melody have been the best of friends from the time they were kids. They never lost touch as they became adults and always harbored a secret flame for the other. I found it heartbreaking finding out about Joes childhood and how he never felt like he was good enough for her. Now that he’s finally in a better place in life he’s ready to make a move and see if he can make it work with the love of his life. It’s so fascinating following the day to day life of a rock band on the road. This book has romance, heat, tragedy and plenty of excitement that made me not want to put the book down. The ending was beautiful and made me tear up in the best possible way. I cannot read to read more of this series.

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairing Series Book 1) by Parker Fairchild-Review by Elena Tobar

Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship (The Perfect Pairings Series Book 1)Christmas Cookies on a Cruise Ship by Parker Fairchild
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is so full of Christmas magic and wonder. Olivia is so lost and lonely when she steps on the Serendipity cruise and my heart breaks for all that she’s been through. When she sits on Santa’s lap and begs him for Jace the hero of the novel she’s writing, it makes my jaw drop to find out that he is an actual man and he is right there on the cruise! Somehow her heart must have known that he was out there and he was hers and she was his. Seeing how Santa and Mrs. Clause help bring them together to get to know each other and to realize that they belong together made my heart so happy. This book is full of so many laugh out loud and swoon worthy moments and Imogene and Grandpa Erwin are adorable too. I really love the way that Olivia found herself on this cruise and finally gets to step out of her twin sisters shadow and have a fairy tale life.
Jace is even better than the hero of her romance novel and even though he’s been through some rough patches in life he’s able to pen his heart, cherish her and take a chance on a once in a lifetime love! This is a book I’ll read many times over because I absolutely adored it so much!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a story of two fated souls drawn to each other. This book pulled me right in from the very first page. Cheyenne feels herself drawn to Lane no matter how hard she tries to fight it. She’s a strong independent woman and is terrified to let her walls down, but Lane is so sweet, hardworking and patient that she feels her resolve crumbling by the minute. I laughed, smiled and swooned at their interactions as they began to grow closer. The attraction between them is undeniable but it’s so much more than that. They’ve both spent a lifetime yearning for and searching for something that they can only find in each other’s arms. The ending was so sweet and perfect that it made me love this book even more. I absolutely cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

This book offers a fascinating inside look at Red’s life and the type of man that he is. He took on so much responsibility at such a young age. I really enjoyed getting to read the motivation behind everything that he does. Red finds himself in a position that he never expected to be in and didn’t even want when the Satan’s Devils offer him a chance to prospect with them.
The author gives a real inside look at what a close knit family the group becomes. Poor Red has been through so much it was nice seeing his accomplishments but the twist cliffhanger at the end made my heart ache for Red once again. I absolutely cannot wait to see how this all plays out in Part 2.

This is the perfect romance to put you in a holiday frame of mind. I could almost smell cinnamon sticks and pumpkin pie, see lights twinkling and snow falling. Liberty and Sawyer appear to be complete opposites on the surface but they quickly feel a connection between them that grows by the minute. It was pure magic seeing the way that Sawyer lit up as he interacted with Liberty and her family as they enjoyed holiday festivities together. There is also such a beautiful twist in this story that really lets you peek into the true heart of Sawyer and see why these two are absolutely meant to be together!

Still Taking Chances by Roz Lee-Review by Elena Tobar

Still Taking ChancesStill Taking Chances by Roz Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such a steamy sweet story of submission and healing. Elgin and Mary Beth have such a unique dynamic from the very first moment they meet. Although they both try to keep their distance as their domme/sub relationship develops, it doesn’t take long for both of them to start to develop feelings. I really enjoyed that this was written with a female domme instead of the typical male domme found in many books. This is also a very unique romance in that the sub was an alpha sub and not what typically comes to mind when you think of a sub male.
This book really delves into just how healing and fulfilling a domme/sub relationship can be for those who are drawn to this particular lifestyle. The surprise ending is so fitting and made me laugh and smile simultaneously, because it absolutely stayed true to their special brand of romance.

Nadia and Luke are electric. Nadia is such a spitfire! I’m so glad that the next book in this series was about Nadia and Luke. I’ve been intrigued with their chemistry since they were introduced in Mr. Nice Guy. At first you think that Luke is a cheater and a liar until you find out his side of the story. Obviously Nadia is reacting so strongly because she still has feelings for him. I really enjoyed seeing the electricity and unfinished business crackling between them. Neither is able to resist the pull of the other. This story made me laugh, tear up and swoon so many times because they both have so much baggage to work through but the ride is so worth it! The ending was absolutely everything and took my breath away. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you won’t regret it.

It made me want to curl up in front of the fireplace with a cozy blanket and a hot cup of cocoa while I read it. CC and Reese are perfect for each other. They’re both running from their pasts and determined not to let their walls down but their souls immediately connect. Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story is heartrendingly beautiful. This is one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time, if not the best ever. Amy Argent did an amazing job of pulling me into Will and Toris world as they get to know each other and Will struggles with such a horrible illness. There is so much raw emotion in this book that I teared up more times than I can count, but it was well worth it in the end. Even though I thought I knew what to expect when I began the story, I was left surprised and eager to read part 2 and see how things turn out. What can be more beautiful than giving a person that brightens your day a reason to hang on and fight a little harder and a little longer even if ultimately you don’t believe they’ll survive? This book definitely has me looking at life with a whole new appreciation.

As excited as I was to read more about their story and their lives together since the first book, this one is so sad that it really tugs at the heartstrings. Every time I thought that things were beginning to look up for them there was another cruel twist of fate and more obstacles in their path. Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is just as amazing as the first one in this series is. Brittany Anne is such a talented author. She has such a way of painting such a vivid picture and drawing you right in from the very first page. Julia suffered at the hands of the same monster that tortured Rain. She was just recently rescued from her living hell by Derek and her wounds are much fresher, more raw and closer to the surface. She hasn’t had the two year breather that Rain had to begin to heal. She feels herself drawn to him from the beginning but she is terrified to trust with all that she’s been through. This book is a must read that you definitely won’t want to miss. It’s full of romance, action, heat, and so much raw human emotion. I cannot wait to find about more about the other two brothers and read their stories as they’re released.

Mia is back and perfect for Edward. I was so excited to see that Mia was back for this one and that she is Edwards mate! They have a little bit of a rocky start but once they stop fighting destiny so hard you can see that they are meant to be together! Edward has always seemed to hold his self back from the rest of the family and observe from a distance instead of joining in. All of that starts to change once Mia becomes such an important part of his life. I really enjoyed watching their romance blossom and the family dynamic shift. This book was amazing and I really hope that there’s a book planned in the future for poor Peter to find his mate.

Carter has finally met his match! Carter’s and Vanessa’s story is absolutely adorable. They meet in a way that seems completely random but is absolutely fate setting the wheels in motion. Carter is always the first person to step forward to help others while pushing his own needs aside. It made me so happy to see that it is finally his turn to have some happiness with his long awaited mate. This book is different from the others in the series so far because Vanessa doesn’t have any powers, and it makes it even more difficult for her to accept her mate and all that comes along with being part of the Broderick family. If you’re a fan of the paranormal you will love this book! It’s full of romance, heat, action and mystery. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson-Review by Elena Tobar

Forever (Diamond Doms #9)Forever by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a beautiful peek inside a sadist/masochist relationship. The sparks between Russell and Gemma set the pages on fire! This book is full of action, heat and romance and gives such an inside look at what a great relationship between a sadist and a masochist can be like. Gemma has to fully trust Russell in order to play out some of the scenes that she does with him. Even though she doesn’t fully realize that she has fallen for him and trusts him until much later in the book, it’s quite apparent that she does. It just wouldn’t work if she didn’t. Russell is such an amazing guy, even though he’s been badly hurt in the past, he is so tender with her at times and does not once take advantage of her. This book wrapped up the series beautifully and gave peeks at what the other couples were up to and how their live were progressing as well.
