Anna is learning to mingle with high society but she feels a bit out of her element but she finds ways to get comfortable in these situations. She’s had a crush for Phillip for many years and it finally seems like things are going in the right direction. I love Anna’s whit and sass and how she interacts with Phillip who always seems to be in “royal guise” but she brings him more down to earth. This book is the 4th book in the series. Although I haven’t read the other books in the series I had no problem connecting with the characters and enjoyed all the extra moments with what I assume were characters in the earlier books.

I immediately liked this book from the start. Anna was a delight of a character to read about and she ended up being my favorite. She is the perfect balance of poised woman and take no shit woman. I admired her for the countless times she stood up for herself and I found her hilarious a lot of times. She was the perfect balance to Phillip who was a bit too stiff for me at first. He was exactly what I imagined a Royal person would be like but him having Anna to help keep him down to earth and be a normal person it was lovely to see him be a real human and I adored the way he slowly fell for Anna. I love a slow romance on either end but since Anna has loved him for years I enjoyed reading about Phillip slowly opening up to her and falling for the girl I’d adored from the start. This was also so steamy I had to stop reading at some points to cool down. It was very good! I was waiting for the drama for a long time because most of the book was like a fairytale and the drama did come through. It was almost painful reading about Phillip be such an idiot but his groveling worked and I appreciated the happy ending although could have done without the random pregnancy scare that ended up being nothing. That felt pointless as I would have been expected the last chapter pregnancy to happen but this felt like a fake out. I overall enjoyed this and was surprised to read it in less than 24 hours. I am now intrigued with the rest of the series and may have to read them to learn more about the other characters cause I really enjoyed almost all the characters in this book. Anna is the Queen in my book though. She was epic.

Although very predictable and Hallmark special feeling. This one still has all the warm fuzzy good feelings that I love. The characters are well written and endearing. And the vernacular is really fun for an American! I absolutely love Scottish slang! There’s a Glossary of Scottish Slang at the rear of the Book! Our Main Lady is Anna, a Scottish lass with a wonderful vocabulary that I absolutely adore! She’s unapologetically herself and doesn’t change who she is for a man in this one, yet the character growth is beautiful. Our main man is Lord Phillip Sutherland, Earl of Arburne, a British aristocrat. He has decided who he has to be due to his title, but can he truly embrace who he is and live for the right woman. This romance is a really easy, but fun read. The characters are all really well written with great growth and story arcs. The world is rich and you don’t want to put this one down. It’s definitely going into my pile of “comfort reads” novels.

This is a new series for me, I haven’t read the first three yet but if they are anything like Phillip and Anna’s story I can’t wait to read them. I really loved reading about Phillip and Anna, they are so good together. There is just enough steamy to go with all the sassiness from Anna. It pulled me in and I could not put it down. I had to keep reading which makes me want more. Cannot wait to read the previous books.

Whew can I say that this book was AMAZING!! I have not read any books by this author before reading this one and I cannot wait to read more books by her! Anna is a character that is totally relatable who you just enjoy reading. Phillip is one who is learning more about himself and how to relax a little bit. Their ruse starts out as one that is make pretend but as the time goes on, they start having real feelings and that’s when this book gets even more intriguing! This book was just plum wonderful, and I cannot wait to reread it and let my friends know that this is one that needs to be added to their list of books to read.

This is the first book from this author I have read and I was hooked. I like how the author has a well balanced story line with just enough drama to balance out the steamy romance. I also like how the characters have a bit of complexity. The chemistry is just so explosive and I really could not put this book down. I like how the characters compliment one another and how there is fireworks in the making. I love how they come together and how the author draws out the story line. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Anna has been crushing on Phillip for the last 15 years. Phillip was her brother’s best friend. They practically grew up together. Anna was technically off-limits, bro code and all. All of that changed when Anna kissed Phillip on Halloween, or Samhain as the Scottish call it. What made the situation more confusing was when Phillip kissed Anna the second time.
As Anna is fulfilling her duty to her family by attending more society social events, Phillip has offered to be a guide. When Anna and Phillip have their picture taken together, the media starts to talk about the couple. Phillip hatches a plan, fake date Anna to keep the press and his mother off his back about dating and relationships. Phillip finds that Anna brings out a side of him he thought was long gone due to him caving to the duties and requirements of his family. Anna finds the man behind the mask more intriguing and loveable than Phillip’s public face for which she had already fallen.
When the ghosts of the past threaten their new relationship, Phillip does what he always did, choose honor and family over his own feelings and desires. Does this mean the end for Anna and Phillip?
They tout this as a slow-burn romance, but there is heat and emotion and steam from the very beginning. The characters are smart, funny, witty and real. This was my first book in the series but it was a great one. Even with the Scottish slang thrown in, this was a fast and easy read!! Perfect for afternoons by the beach or pool or just an afternoon relaxing.

I know I know, it seems if you have read one book with a similar plot they are all the same. Except that cannot be further from the truth for this book right here. It is the perfect quick beach read for times when you want a little escape.
Phillip is a stodgy earl who has been lauded as the most eligible bachelor but has sworn off serious romances realizes they and the throne do not mix. With his presence on more tabloids he comes up with a brilliant scheme to get the tabloids and hopefully his family off his back a romance. This is where Anna comes in, who is Phillips friend’s little sister. Phillip will help Anna with her family business and Anna will be Phillip’s perfect romance, at least on paper. Anna is a spunky female unfamiliar with high society and independent as a whip. So what happens when This fake relationship slips into the real territory? Could Anna be his love match or is the relationship doomed from the start?
I absolutely loved Anna’s character, she is super fun, outspoken, and the proverbial fish out of water character we have all felt at one time or another. I loved how the author built up the characters with Anna learning high society etiquette and Phillip learning to be less restrictive and to let his hair down every once in a while. Kind of like the perfect opposites attract trope that we hear about so much. This was an easy, very fun read that should be added to your to be read pile!

5 Stars Fairly Royal (The Fair Series Book 4) by Grace Grahme
Fairly Royal is the fourth book in The Fair series and I absolutely loved reading it. This is a Romance story packed with drama, and everything else that goes along with fake relationships with your best friends little sister. This is not my first read by this author but it’s definitely my favorite yet. Her style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed and relatable characters make for an amazing story. This is one of those pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end kind of books. I had a terrible time putting it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is Philip and Anna’s story . He’s an Earl who takes his duty very seriously and tries to avoid relationships at all costs. He finds himself in yet another tabloid headline. He comes up with what he thinks is a great idea but is it really? Then there’s Anna who is his best friends sister and she may be loud and outspoken but she also has her own set of rules for this relationship. Without giving to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author

Fairly Royal is the fourth book in the Fair series by Grace Grahme. It is a slow burn, fake relationship, best friend’s little sister romance- with drama, humour, spice, and sweet developments. What happens when a royal Prince needs a solution to a pressing problem? Will his best friend’s little sister be the answer to his troubles? Things are certainly about to get interesting…. Now I need to explore the other three books in the series before I move on to any other of Ms. Grahme’s work… Happy Reading!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Phillip and Anna made a great pairing. Reading why Phillip no longer dated before he met Anna was heart breaking. There were times that I absolutely wanted to reach thorough the book to strangle Phillip when he was being so dense it was frustrating. I loved how Anna was an immoveable wall when it came to certain things. She took no crap from Phillip and made sure he knew exactly what he was doing wrong. But at the same time, there were times that you felt for her when she was venerable. I know these are all stand alone books, but I wanted to know more of what happened to them afterwards. This book was written very well and I left like, I was in the middle of everything. I definitely will be adding this book to my bookshelf!

Fairly Royal was good, but I struggled getting into it at first. By categorizing it as a “slow-burn” romance, I feel like that was an understatement. It’s definitely slow, but even with that being the case, you need to push through. It’s worth it. A sweet romance by an Earl and commoner, but is it really viewed that way? Maybe to some of the characters in the book, but it’s a romance about two people who are finally giving something a chance. Though it may have started out as pretend. Philip, Earl of Arburne, and Anna have known each other for years. Her brother’s best friend, that she’s been secretly crushing on since the first time she saw him. So what happens when a tabloid speculates they are together? Philip gets this idea that they could pretend. He must’ve been foolish, because one can never truly keep feelings out of it. Anna on the other hand will take what she can get, while trying to protect her heart in the process. Sure enough his plan backfired. Now pushing back against society Philip and Anna need to learn how to not only be themselves with one another, but also how to navigate the upper class. All the while dealing with Philip’s mother and other family members trying to remind Anna she doesn’t belong. As well as trying to make her run. Will Philip & Anna Survive? Will his mom come out victorious, in her own right? So many questions and so many answers, just keep in mind it may take time to get there.

Lords and ladies, operas, and working class people all mixing together is dramatic, lovable, and very amusing. This witty novel is perfect for anyone who likes royalty, scheming, and crushes becoming legit. Read this book! You will not regret it!

This was such a great read. I really enjoyed it and I was engaged from the very beginning until the end. I’ve not read anything by this author previously but I will definitely be looking at the other books in the series. I liked Philip and Anna and enjoyed seeing their ‘relationship’ progress – I loved the connection that they had. The secondary characters in the story were great also. I just loved Anna – she was such a great character to read about, she made me laugh so much with her no nonsense approach to things – definitely the kind of friend you’d want! Overall a great read and one I would definitely recommend.

This was the first book that I have read by Grace Grahme. She gives us a great story about Philip, who is Earl of Arburne and Anna who is his best friends sister. Anna is strong, witty and smart. I love that she doesn’t change who she is for anyone. Philip is as most see royals, very straight laced. (At least in the public eye.) The author gives you a good look at both characters sense of humor, heart and work ethic. A good glimpse at melding two different worlds. You will laugh, get frustrated and even start to think you know what is coming in some instances. As their relationship moves from friends to something possibly more there is drama but also some of the most swoon worthy scenes. I did learn quite of few Scottish words.
One of my favorite lines that had me laughing was “I’m crying more than a nun at a sinner’s convention.”

This is a fun and entertaining romance story with some truly brilliant characters. I loved the connection between the 2 main characters and the banter they had between them. I thought they were so well matched and fit perfectly with the feel of the story the author seemed to be going for. I always have a soft spot when any part of a book, or the characters, involve the UK, so for this to involve a Scottish lead, I knew I couldn’t resist. I thought the book was well written. It was easy to connect with and easy to read – I read it all in one sitting without realising I was flying through it that quickly! This is a great story and definitely one to add to the list.

The writing Is terrific, even though at times there were a little to many details for my liking, but overall the author gave us great location and character descriptions, and a terrific plot to keep us intrigued. So what happens when a royal gets someone to pretend to be their girlfriend? Will the facade eventually end? Or will thy realize their each other’s happily ever after? I really enjoyed this romance story. The author did an amazing job with the story and the characters. For me the character and their connection is what made the story for me. I loved how much fun they were and the banter going back and forwards between Anna and Phillip I’d what really brought this couple to life. I have to say i adored Anna. She is such a fun character and she doesn’t mince her words or bother about what she says or who too and for me that is her charm. She can play nicely when she needs to but she doesn’t see why she should be any different than she is and that’s a good message for women just be yourself.
This is a romance story between friends when they play at being a couple. Anna is her own woman, she has her own mind and she won’t act a certain way because it’s expected of her. Phillip is the opposite. Because of his title he has to act and behave in a way that is appropriate for his title. Anna and Phillip have been friends for years and there has always been a spark between then. So when Phillip proposes they pretend to be in a relationship to keep the press of his back, what could possibly to wrong?
As they navigate their new reality with each other they don’t realise when things start to slide between being fake and turning into reality.
Will Anna and Phillips relationship survive all the media and his familys interfering? Will they realise that what they have is real and not fake before its too late?

Anna McDonnell is building a business but in order to do that she needs to put herself out there socially. The one saving grace at the latest function is seeing Phillip, the Earl of Arburne again. Phillip is her brothers best friend and the man she kissed not too long ago. Both have problems, Anna trying to socially navigate her blooming business and Phillip’s bachelor status that is fodder for the tabloids. They come up with a plan, Anna will be Phillips girlfriend but what happens when feelings get involved?
Fun read. I enjoyed how this story developed between Anna and Phillip. Entertaining romance with a royal flare.

This book was a complete slow burn with a few twists that I didn’t see coming. It was wonderfully written and the characters all had growth throughout the book. Anna has set terms to this “fake” relationship that leave Phillip unsure of how to act or behave. Everything is going swimmingly with these two and their relationship until something happens and Phillip seems to think he knows what is best for all parties involved. These characters are relatable and the dialect that is used throughout the book really makes you feel as if you are in Scotland. I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a sassy female lead. This book is a quick read because it is a constant page turner. You will find yourself wanting to know what feisty Anna is going to do or say next, or you’re waiting to see if the shell that Phillip surrounds himself by will come crashing down. By far one of my favorite reads of the month. Reviewed by @bbohls

The two lead characters in this book are well written and develop beautifully throughout the story. I guess you would say Anna has a real zest for life and I found her to be a truly wonderful character to follow through this fun story and one that I fell for straight away. Phillip is an Earl who takes all that involves and his sense of duty very seriously and I’ll be honest at the start I thought to myself OMG he is so damn stuffy! Getting to know him more through the book I loved him just as much as Anna. With such creative writing, fun humorous moments and a HEA that makes you just feel good this is a book not to missed and this fabulous author definitely has a new fan in me. As this is my first book by this author and book 4 I will be going back to read the others in this series for sure!

Fairly Royal is an opposites attract contemporary romance This was the first time I have read anything by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. Grace had me at Scotland, so reading anything about Scotland brings back vivid memories of my time spent there. I love Scotland. Add in a steamy romance and I’m hooked.
This slow burn brother’s best friend romance will have you hoping that there is the perfect man out there and just waiting for you. If only. Any how this is the fourth book in this series but I didn’t discover this until I was more than half way through so now I will go back and read the others.
I loved the humour that Grace infused throughout the story making it feel that more realistic. There is sweet and sexy, steam and drama, a fake relationship that may or may not develop into more and characters that you will enjoy. The story is very well-written and well-developed.
If you love contemporary romances, you will love this book.

Phillip and Anna, an Earl and his brother’s best friend, is a romance that I truly enjoyed. A romance that makes you smile because he just can’t realize that she is in love with him. He is afraid to put anyone through the mess that comes with loving a royal. He asks Anna to help him with a fake romance. These two commence with a pretend relationship complete with drama. I loved it all. The story had romance, steam, drama and characters that just make the story. I’ve always loved these type of stories because of the rags to riches type of theme. In this case, it was you girl next door romance. How can Phillip make this work when her brother is his best friend? The plot is fantastic. It was very well-written and well-developed. This is a terrific romance that you just get sucked into. You should read this one. You’ll be intrigued and learning the meaning of the language will be fun too.

Well, that and paparazzi hounding him, plus family obligations on steroids.
Years ago, the notoriously private Earl of Arburne and Glasgow’s #1 most eligible bachelor decided relationships were impossible with his unique pressures.
So he avoids anything serious. Hell, he avoids dating at all.
When he lands in yet another tabloid headline, he has the brilliant (or brilliantly stupid) idea to give the tabloids what they want.
A romance.
No one needs to know it’s fake.
But when he enlists beautiful, bold, and outspoken Anna McDonnell, his best friend’s little sister, he finds himself with a whole new set of troubles.
Anna’s rules for their ruse make their arrangement feel far from pretend. Counterfeit feels more and more like something authentic.
And in the realm of royalty and public scrutiny, anything real and pure can’t survive.
Philip has a problem.
Will this liason be a love-match or will their fling fall flat?
Fairly Royal is the page-turning third book in The Fair Series of contemporary romances. If you like bold heroines, billionaire heroes, and plenty of steam, then you’ll adore Grace Grahme’s royal romance.
I love reading and I love writing even more- I balance (not always successfully) writing, a career, a family, and a menagerie of rescued dogs, cats, and backyard chickens.
Writing allows me to live vicariously through my characters, escape to worlds and experiences I might never have, and my characters always have a witty response or a perfect retort. (no more 5 hours later having the thought of ‘that’s what I should have said!’)
I’m an avid coffee consumer and adult beverage fan. I love catching up with my friends on Marco Polo and working out at the gym. I avoid cleaning, cardio, and carbs- unless it’s an emergency.
I carve out writing time by starting my day at 515am. Which unfortunately means I’m in bed earlier than I’d like. And I still don’t get my to-do list done!
