Journey Through TimeSpace by James Talisman is the 2nd book in the series. I read both back to back to assure I give my honest opinion on both. The author is very good at setting up the characters and the stories, it was difficult for me to become fully immersed in the book. This second installment was better than the first for me but still was a struggle on my end to be fully engaged. My personal feelings on spiruality and meditation really got in my way of being able to get fully immersed into the story. While this is a great book for many and the author is very well versed in his style, I just felt it was an ok read.

Journey Through SpaceTime by James Talisman was a difficult read for me. I typically can jump right into a book but I found this very hard to keep my interest and was easily distracted while reading. Perhaps it was trying to get into each individual storyline and character grouping. I don’t typically delve into this type of story but I do enjoy multiverse type of subjects. With this, I was hoping for more crossover into the multiple worlds and dimensions that the author lays out for us. All the meditation was too much for me, but this is from a perspective where I personally don’t find value in this form of mental awareness. The author is very good at describing the multiple worlds and people but it became too descriptive and longwinded for me in some places. I was hopeful for more of the action I see from other reviews, but half way through, I felt it was lacking in what I consider action. I do feel this book is good for some readers, but just ok for me.

This is the first book is a new series by this author and from this book its going to be a great series. It is a young adult read but I really enjoyed it. I loves the fantasy aspect and the danger. With twists and turns around every corner you are kept on the edge of your seat all the way through.
When Alena’s world is destroyed she loses everything. She loses her home, her family and eventually her name. She is taken away and trained to become part of The Guild. The Guild is a group of people who are highly trained and Alena needs to find where she belongs. After a successful trail on her own she comes back with the head of a Siren which makes her a Slayer. Now she gets placed in the service of the Sacred and now her real adventure begins.
It’s a great 1st book in the series and I am eager to see where the next book takes us.

Journeys Through Spacetime (Journeys Through Book 1) By James Talisman 4 Stars
Journeys Through Spacetime is unlike any book you have ever read. It is classified as science fiction/fantasy but it also has spirituality woven throughout. It really is an original story. It takes place on different planets and separate times. Many reminding me of different eras on Earth; Egyptians, Japanese warriors and ninjas, gladiators and present day. There are many characters and multiple points of view which are constantly changing. This I found made it difficult to follow the story. Just as I was getting into it, we changed places and characters. Parts of the book felt like I was watching an episode of Star Trek. Readers who are interested in sci-fi will love this book. Personally I’m not a fan but I decided to step outside the box a little and try something different. I do believe in mind over matter so the book intrigued me.
The author gave most of his characters a very formal speech which felt unnatural to me. It turned me off and annoyed me because no one speaks like that. I’m willing to forgive this because the story takes place in different time eras and planets so it is a possibility. Personally I felt that there were too many storylines and there were only a couple that I was interested in. Cassius and Hirosho drew me in the most. Hirosho and the shadow demon could have been a book unto itself.
Honestly I wasn’t sure how to rate this boom. It’s not a three but not quite a four. I finally decided to give it a four stars. I felt that being a debut novel for this author, it was good. The concept was original and well thought out. I wasn’t going to let my personal preferences and tastes affect the rating.

Awakening the Gods: A Celtic Urban Fantasy (Rise of the Celtic Gods Book 1) by Kristin Gleeson is an urban fantasy romance original story. It is a richly spun tale full of magic and myth, of Celtic folklore and legends, of gods and goddesses set in the beautiful county of Ireland. Having visited Ireland it just made the story pop so much more. And let’s not forget the musicality of the story which just adds another dimension overall.

Alena Athscar is a young woman of sixteen who lost her family in one night eight years before which was filled with blood, fire and snow, all because she has a gift people are searching for, but she is rescued by her Uncle and she is taken to live with him and grew up training to be a part of the Guild of thieves, assassins, saviours and slayers which he is the Guild master, now she is in the midst of her trial and is walking through a torrential downpour towards a tavern at a crossroads, it is warm and inviting and the bar keep is friendly, it looks like there isn’t going to be much information she can use, that is until a man comes running in speaking of a terrifying incident which has destroyed his caravan and possibly those he was travelling with in a nearby forest, that is all she needs to know and she heads off in that direction. When she gets there, she immediately senses something isn’t right and her suspicions are confirmed when she sees a trio of bandits she crossed paths with earlier attack each other in such a way that she knows they are not quite themselves, when she looks closer and is then confronted by the cause of the disquiet, she ends up fighting for her life and triumphs in the end, as she returns to the inn, she observes another confrontation, this time between the man and someone in his party, this leads to her getting paid.
When she returns to the Guildhall to receive confirmation of the her apprenticeship and completion of her trial, she is given the brand of the Guild and the designation of Slayer, closely followed by designation of her first contracted job, she has to retrieve a missing person for the Sacred, a group of sorcerers who either recruit or destroy those with arcane abilities, the need for discretion and speed in insisted upon and after receiving all the information she can, she takes her payment and goes to visit some vendors to stock up on what she will need for the job. Her first stop is the Healer to treat her wounds and give an offering to the Gods, she visits the Fence to sell the things she didn’t give to the Guild, next is the Scholar to gather some information about where she will be going and the current situation there, including a map with the way clearly marked, a trip to the Alchemist for healing potions and something to help slay any obstacles in front of her and finally to the Armourer to replace her short sword, chainmail armour and gathering a few more weapons to add to her arsenal.
After she is packed and ready to go, she goes to a local inn to recruit a party tot travel with her and support her with the job, there isn’t much uptake to begin with, they disbelieve that she, a mere girl is worthy of them, but eventually people step up to the plate and they finally set off onto their journey, but it isn’t smooth sailing on the way, never mind when they reach their destination, however what they find there is nothing short of terrifying, but will the group be able to destroy what needs to be destroyed and stay alive in the process, or will the beasts and demons prevail over the Slayer and her group of individuals? This is a thrilling fantasy adventure which keeps you on a rollercoaster of emotions as you journey along a perilous path with this group of misfits.

Radhika Varma is a young girl who lives with her brother and aunt, she has a normal life, she goes to school, has a best friend, she spends a lot of time at the library, or reading in her room and she has a vivid imagination, but in her dreams she sees lost family and the other usual things, but one day she sees someone in her dreams whom she has never seen before, the first time, she thinks nothing of it, however, as he appears more often and even when she is awake, she starts to get worried. One night, she is dreaming as usual when she suddenly becomes surrounded by darkness, apart from a spotlight in which the man in her dreams is sat in an armchair, when she asks what is going on, he just pours some tea and asks her to wait for others to join them and eventually ten others appear and this is when he starts to explain everything.
As Radhika listens to the old man, she is finding what he is telling the group highly unbelievable, apparently, he has been observing them and because of their imaginations, he has picked them and brought them to the land of dreams and nightmares, also known as Prestoria to take part in a Challenge which takes place every fifty years, this challenge involves them using their imagination to travel to a portal while overcoming the obstacles set before them. He says that they are now the Dream Catchers and that they will have until dawn each day to complete the Challenge, if they don’t get to the portal in time, they will be forever trapped in Prestoria and will lose their lives in the real world, but this night, they will be taught the basic skills needed to compete and to have a practice before the real tasks begin.
As she starts talking to some of the others in the group and tries to practice the skills, she is realising that she may not be as good as she is hoping to be, but she is determined to persevere throughout the Challenge, however, as it progresses and she tries to help others in the group to win in the duels against mythical creatures and scenarios which test every aspect of their person, one Catcher in particular is determined to believe that she is not as wholesome as she appears and starts to set things up to prove this to the other Catchers, Radhika is suspicious, but only talks to a select couple of the other Catchers about it, they are the ones who don’t believe the accusations and know the truth. Will Radhika be able to complete the Challenge and prove to everyone that she isn’t the kind of person she is being made out to be, or will the accusations and ill wishes against her come to fruition and leave her in Prestoria forever? This is a thrilling race against time in a fantasy world, which will keep you on the edge of your seat and although it is a YA book, adults will enjoy it as well as you read along and share the experiences of the Dream Catchers.

This is Book 2 in the Nite Fire Series, and picks up right after the first book. I would consider this series as urban fantasy; it is action packed and has some tense drama.
I listened to the audio book and there were moments in the beginning where I had to play some chapters again as my mind kept wondering. I stuck it out and glad that I did, King did an excellent job with her narration.
Schneider does a great job of maintaining the flow and characters throughout the novels. Schneider writes with a balance of characters emotion and action, as well as great world building and developing plot.

This was my first audio book and It was amazing. I was able to truly imagine everything and the narrators voice was amazing. Dahlia and Alex were great! The journey they were on was so clearly defined. Dahlia is a half dragon and a heroine at her finest. She is strong, intelligent, and determine. She is a fighter who has no intention of backing down. Together her and Alex are finding their common ground and working together to solve these unthinkable crimes. Bodies are mutating and dead bodies are dropping everywhere. Unheard of and unknown we watch these 2 navigate the dark magical realm and get the unexpected answers.

Journeys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman is the first novel in the Journeys Through series. At first it was a little bit confusing when trying to keep track on who is who. The author introduced too many different people all at once. As time went on and more things were written, it got easier.
The book is about a multiverse with several different peoples point of view. They were all written so differently that it held on to my interest even in the initial confusion. As time went on, I fell in love with most of the characters.
I have heard about multiverse before, especially through The Flash from DC but this novel took it to a whole new level in a good way! It took the classic good vs evil and threw in different species, different types of environments all mixed together in this universe.
I am not a sci-fi fan when it comes to space or things of a similar genre so when a few characters were from Earth, it made it more enjoyable for me. If you are a huge fan of sci-fi then this is the book for you! Even if you are not a sci-fi fan, I still recommend this novel.

I give The Forsaken: Wraith by Martin Ferguson, 5 stars.
This book is incredible. It is completely different than the author’s Relic Hunters series, yet it still has the same sense of adventure the author excels at. This new world is so detailed and interesting. I really want to be there and felt pulled in immediately. The author does such a fantastic job in this tale of fantasy. Then there are the characters. Slayer is such a wonderful primary character. She has such a past that forged who she has become. Not to mention that she still learns as the book goes on. She has her flaws, but is ruled by her heart. She is what really makes this book and what I hope to be a long-running series.
If you like fantasy stories with imaginative worlds and strong female main characters, this book is definitely for you.

The Forsaken: Wraith by Martin Ferguson is an explosive start to a new series. It is not often you get a book like this, one that absolutely captures you from start to finish. This whole book is thrilling. The author takes you on such an exciting journey. Half the time I didn’t know which way to turn because I was so caught up in what was happening. Having previously read his Relic Hunters series I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book and it did not disappoint at all! The whole book was so well executed that I am already looking forward to seeing more from these characters.

I enjoyed reading this book and was excited to pick up and listen to the audio. I enjoyed how the narrator made the story fun and entertaining to listen to. I also enjoyed how they brought the story to life with the different tones for each character. This is a cute young adult story about Cat and what happens to her when a scheduling mix up places her in a culinary class. Her family has a secret and she is about to find out what it is. I really enjoyed Cat’s character, she was fun and I enjoyed her growth throughout her mix up. Great story to listen to and worth the audio pick up. I highly recommend this audio.

I got chills reading this book. From the very first page you are bombarded with emotions from Lucy. Watching her lose her mother in the most horrible way makes you want to just grab her and hold onto her and never let her go. This girl is met with trial after trial and rises above it. At first she is very reluctant. I would be too if I was in her shoes! But, you see her grow and you want to read more. The storytelling is absolutely fantastic. I enjoyed every moment of this story. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

This was a super enjoyable read, there is nothing better than a fierce no nonsense female lead. Especially when you throw in a bunch of misfits that have to figure out how to work together! The chemistry was great, I loved Alenas character so much, after everything she went through as a child and then being trained under the Guild of thieves and assassins?! This book had great world building, relatable characters and an adventure that doesn’t stop. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the books go! This was the first book I have read by Martin Ferguson and I’m ready for more.

The Forsaken: Wraith was my first book by Martin Ferguson and I was very impressed! The story really came alive for me and I found myself excited to see what would happen next.
Alena (Slayer), having lost her family and home at a young age, is raised and trained by the Guild. Training to be either Savior, Slayer, Assassin or Thief, Alena passed her trial earning herself a position in the Guild as Slayer. Given her first assignment, she rounds up a team of unlikely misfits. They are faced with danger and evils. I don’t know how you would be able to resist getting sucked into the story!
This book was a quick read and I am so happy that I was able to experience it! It was a page turner for me and now I impatiently wait for book 2!

This was my first dragon shifter tale. Dahlia Nite is pretty kickass. I love how she “lies” to Her sidekick, Evans, to get out of him following her. She is supposed to protect humanity from the monsters but those lines are blurring. She wonders if its a virus or if somethings is triggering people. The narrator has a really fantastic voice for this story. She sets the tone with just the right attitude and cockiness that I think fits Dahlia. The adventures in the story are non-stop. Highly recommend in audio form as the narration makes the book even better.

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider is the second book in the series and a brilliant follow up to book 1. It took no time at all to fall completely back in with these characters. The relationships that had been built in book one have easily continued on into this book.
I was so glad to find it is the same person narration the story too. The enthusiasm and excitement that she evokes with her narration is just amazing. I definitely think I enjoyed it even more thanks to that. I love the mix of supernatural and natural in this series, it has been done in such a believable way. This is a brilliant series and I cannot wait for the next book.

James Talisman has the gift of descriptive writing! I am normally not big into the Sci-Fi genre, but Talisman’s writing style and character development, along with his story building, had me excitedly turning pages. It did take me a while to understand the immenseness of the characters and worlds in this book, but Talisman’s talented use of descriptive words had me feeling as though I were in the multiverse along with them. Journeys Through SpaceTime is an amazing work of art full of otherworldly characters, amazing settings, and a sense wonder at the vastness of life and our interconnectedness with everything around us. I don’t think I’ll be switching my overall reading to this genre anytime soon, but I will definitely be seeking out more from Mr. Talisman.

The Forsaken: Wraith by Martin Ferguson is a book that draws you into the fantasy world written in its pages. Alena’s world is upturned at the loss of everything she was born to; her family, her home and her name. From one life into another she is raised by The Guild, but must face a trial alone to become a true member. Sent out to find her place she returns victorious as a Slayer. She is then sent out on an adventure which places her in the service of the Scared. With determination and a drive to not fail she sets out on her quest with a unique group of individuals. A journey with unexpected twists, danger, monsters, and evil. It was a page turning story that kept me wanting to know what would happen next. I could not put the book down. This is the first book of the Hidden Realms of Centuros series and I cannot wait for the next book.

A must read! I am normally not a fan of sci-fi fantasy novels, but Journeys Through SpaceTime takes you into a multiverse that really brings you to a place of wanting every complex drop of knowledge you can wring from the story. The first little bit can be confusing (I actually read it twice) but is full of very important details that you need to really be cognizant of space time dimensions and the silky threads that bind it together. If you are reading the book and feel like giving up I urge you to keep reading. James Talisman really brings all these seemingly unrelated events to fruition. I thoroughly enjoyed the complexity of the inter dimensional threads that combined the characters. He takes you to places in such detail that you can actually see, feel and smell what he is describing. I absolutely love the details in this book. To me there is nothing better than an author who can create a picture so clear in your mind you can swear you have been there and James does exactly that! I also find the parallels between our world and the universes James creates particularly fascinating. Believe me this book is a hidden gem and I cannot wait for the next installment!

A very well written book that draws you in quickly from the beginning and has you wondering what will happen next. Very entertaining and enjoyable read, with amazing interesting characters the dynamics and the adventure this story takes you down. The magical elements and plot are just as enticing, a page turner from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the next installment of Wraith’s journey and to see how the path develops and I really couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining read!

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction is the second book in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. This series should be listened to in order because there was so much background information that the story will be better understood. Plus the first book was wonderful and you wouldn’t want to miss out. The story continues with Dahlia Nite and Alex Creed investigating a mysterious illness plaguing the city. This story is full of action and suspense and will leave you on the edge of your seat as they try to solve the mystery. The characters are very well developed and the story flows well. I highly recommend this book series and author, especially if you love paranormal.
This, like the first book, is narrated by Cassandra King. She really brings the characters to life. Her voice is easy on the ears, and I enjoyed this book from beginning to end.
Journeys Through SpaceTime is a wonderful story of the MultiVerse. James Talisman does an excellent job of sharing the story of multiple creatures across time and space.
Each character hears a voice that encourages them to continue along the path they are on. Every character has been raised to focus on their inner self and has learned to use meditation as part of their daily lives. As the story for each individual continues, special teachers help the characters to redevelop skills from their childhood and expand their knowledge to aid them in their current journey.
The underlying plot of good vs evil helps the readers to understand how we all have a path to take in life. Some of our journeys are more influential on the outcome and survival of our respective civilizations but each journey is uniquely important.
