The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier is an intriguing and story full of suspense that will have you absolutely hooked from the word go. I was drawn instantly in to this story and knew immediately that it was going to be good. The author really knows how to capture your attention – nothing could have stopped me reading the book to find out what had actually happened. This is the first book that I have read by this author and if it is any indication as to what his work is like then I am already a fan. I loved the writing style and I loved how the story had me on the edge of my seat. I was kept guessing as to what would happen which just made it all the more exciting. This is a fantastic book and I am already looking forward to my next read by this author.

The Frontman is a great crime thriller by Lawrence Parlier. This is an author I had never read before so was very unsure what to expect from this book. What I got was a great thriller with a fantastic story line that kept me gripped from beginning to end. Following the death of music legend Kerry Vance, some of his friends and family are far from convinced that he died of a heroin overdose as the media are saying and embark on a literal journey to discover how he really died and to give him the send-off that he really wanted. There is quite a large cast of characters who play a large role in this book and I have to admit to getting confused a few times as just to who each person was. There are 2 main characters, in my opinion, both of whom are fantastic characters and are probably my favourite characters in the book and those are Avery and Calliope. Calliope is such a strange character but she takes absolutely no crap from anyone and is one of the feistiest women I’ve ever read. I adored reading about her. This is a crime thriller with a difference. Although you find out the truth about Kerry’s death long before the end of the book, the story is far from over and the remainder of this story is so far from what I would have expected. I may not have read this author before, I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to read them again. A great read.

The Wandering Isles: A Crown Of Stones by C.L. Schneider Five Stars
The Wandering Isles is the first novella in a series that takes place after The Crown Of Stones by C.L. Schneider. These novellas can be read without having read The Crown Of Stones series but if you love fantasy books, you are definitely going to want to read that series also. The Crown Of Stones was the books that introduce me to that genre and I can’t seem to get enough of it now. The Wandering Isles is just as amazing. The characters are original and so detailed. The storyline just sucked me in from the first page and I couldn’t put the book down until the last. I’m glad to be following Ian and Jarryd on this dark fantasy adventure. I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this series. I highly recommend all of C.L. Schneider’s books butif you haven’t read any yet, this is a great place to start!

The Wandering Isles by C.L. Schneider a five-star that will bring light to the darkness. This is the first in the Crown of Stones novella series and can be read a stand-alone, but I have to be honest as I adore the Crown of Stones books, just like this one they have a way of bring you into the story, making you feel like you are there with Ian and Jarryd feeling the waves flow and ebb. This is a complex and thrilling story and Ian and Jarryd will keep you hooked at every turn.

The Traveller: Chimera Revolution by Shannon Nemechek a four-star read that will take you on a journey. This is the second book in the series and it picks up where the first leaves so I would recommend you read them in order. If you like a good time travelling drama then this would be a great series for you, its action packed and will pull you into the story much like the main character Katie Butler. But its not all action, there is intrigue, deception and danger that will keep you hooked to the page. It comes so close to being a five-star read, I have high hopes for the next part of Eleanor s story.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier is a tale of life and death all twisty and behind the scenes of being a rock star. Lawrence has done an excellent job of keeping us on the edge of the seat trying to work out what is going on and did something sinister happen? Lawrence is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed this web of threads that he has put into this mystery suspense thriller. The plot is clever and will keep you guessing and engrossed.

War is happening between the angels and the fallen. Gabriella wants nothing to do with it. She just wants to be normal. As far as Gabriella is concerned the school gets bonus points for having the hottest commander to walk the face of the earth unfortunately he can be a jerk. Gabriella realizes that she’s in danger and needs to escape but who can she trust?
This is a young adult fantasy that will keep you glued to your chair unable to put the book down. The story is filled with love, romance, danger and humour. Omg and taco eating unicorns! I love the world that the author has created in this book. With twists and turns, I can’t wait to see where the story will lead us in the next book.

The Frontman is quite a suspenseful and intriguing read by Lawrence Parlier. I was drawn to it as soon as I saw it pop up on my recommended book feed. I love a great mystery, so I was excited to begin. The story is really cleverly woven with more than a few surprises along the way- there is definitely more to this book than first meets the eye- and much more than I had expected. While this may be my first book by Lawrence Parlier, it certainly won’t be my last. Kerry Vance, metal legend, shot to fame as the frontman for “Zephyr” before embarking on a highly successful solo career. His army of fans eagerly await his Blood and Honor tour- only to have their idol die just as the tour is set to begin- bringing heartbreak and confusion to the rock world. His family and friends are left devastated, completely shocked by his death. So, when a mysterious woman arrives claiming that his death was definitely not accidental- things get quite intriguing. Was there more to Kerry’s death than they were led to believe? It’s well worth the read to find out. Looking forward to reading more from Mr. Parlier…

As the plague was killing the world population, fifteen archangels took it upon themselves to spare the lives of the humans they deemed formidable. In doing so, they passed along their traits and made these humans obtain special powers. However, being caught, they were forced to Earth and became fallen angels. Generations have passed, but humans are still being born from the bloodlines of those saved with special powers. When they turn sixteen, humans are tested for those powers. If the powers are present, they are sent to one of two academies to train. Gabriella has grown up in foster care and has done everything she can to avoid the mandatory testing since she turned 16. However, officials have finally caught up with her and she is required to test. She tries to fool the test administrator by concealing her powers, but she soon finds herself enrolled in Academy of Seraph. She is immediately on edge because she doesn’t want to be there. The commander of the academy takes interest in her, as does another new student, as she tries to figure out her lineage and her powers. She soon finds she will play an important role in an upcoming war, whether she is ready or not. I found myself really enjoying this book as it went along. As Gabriella learns more about her past, her connection to those at the academy starts to make sense. There are twists and turns that I did not see coming. The story ends on a cliffhanger…so I will be looking forward to the next book to find out what happens. This was a great start to a new series and I am excited about where it may go in the future.

I haven’t read the first book in the series and I was a little worried that I would be completely lost but actually I was dragged into the story straight away and whilst reading book 1 would have given me answers to some of my questions I absolutely loved what I read. I love historical stories but I’m quite new to the time travel genre and I have to say this author has me hooked on it now! I was captivated by the author’s wonderful writing, full of great descriptive language and fantastic characters. I am definitely going to read book 1 now and I am very excited to read book 3!! The Traveler is highly recommended!!

Have you ever wanted to take to the seas and stumble into islands that have a mystery about them and their inhabitants? Well the good news is that in this novella you can just do that. C.L. Schneider does an awesome job creating this world so you will take that journey. She paints a vivid picture of the Wandering Isles with her words: you feel you were on the island with Ian and Jarryd. Ian and Jarryd both complex characters who are woven into the story perfectly. There are twists and turns as well as ups and downs. I felt myself being drawn into the book as I read the pages. I had to do some reality checks to make sure what I was reading was in my book world and not in my real world. Will Ian and Jarryd be able to pull away from the Wandering Isles or will it be their doom? I highly recommend this book and the series of A Crown of Stones.

The reader soon finds there’s so much more to the story and that’s where the twists and turns fall into play as a mysterious lady from the rocker’s past sets out to reveal the truth. The true crime fan in me enjoys watching documentaries or TV shows like this almost as much as I enjoy reading them. This book was easy to read, suspenseful, and mysterious! This one was fun and easy to enjoy.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it did not disappoint. I started it thinking I will just read a few chapters and didn’t put it down until I was finished. Its the story of mega rock star Kerry Vance and right before he is to head out on tour he is found dead. His family and friends are so shocked with grief and add a mysterious lady that shows up to tell them it was no accident. The family is turned inside out trying to figure out what exactly lead Kerry to his demise. Was it an accident like they want to believe or was it really something much more sinister. Who is this lady to Kerry and how will his fans reaction to his death play into finding out what really happened. This is such a good read and I love mysteries so it was a fun, fast paced read.

I am a sucker for murder mystery and thriller crime reads so when I saw The Frontman and read the blurb I knew I had to know how this story turned out. I have never read Lawrence Parlier prior so I was a bit blind going in and didn’t know what to expect as far as how this writer tells stories. This one was a hit though and I was enthralled with the story. I will for sure be checking out his other titles soon.
In The Frontman we get the story of Kerry, a now deceased music legend. He dies at the beginning of his latest tour and people are starting to question if things were accidental or if there is fowl play. A woman comes from the woodworks and begins to tell his family this was for sure not an accident and that there is more to things than what it looks like. They make the decision to start trying to figure out what really happened and if justice needs to be served. This book grabbed my attention from the very first chapter and gripped me all the way until the end. It was a sit on the edge of your seat read while you followed the clues and tried solving it as you go. I can’t wait to see what else we will get from Lawrence Parlier!

I really enjoyed this novella, a first in a line of several novellas that tie into CL Schneider’s Crown of Stones series that I have previously enjoyed. It was an even nicer departure to read a shorter form of the adventures that take place. I felt like I was able to get more familiar with characters and enjoy more of the history as it was easier to take in while reading. I really love how these stories take you away to this magical and mysterious new land. The way Schneider is able to bring to life this world with her words you see and smell it almost even as you read.
In The Wandering Isles we get a lot of Ian and Jarryd. These two were fun to follow and kept me engaged as I was reading with their personalities. Things move even more fast paced in this novella and are quite enthralling. The story has a lot of magic and mystery that makes you sit on the edge of your seat for the next exciting chapter. I loved this one and am anxiously awaiting the next novella to be devoured soon!

I give Curse of Seduction (Dark Princes of Purgatory Book 1) by CR Robertson, 5 stars.
This is Paranormal Romance at its finest. Ilana and Ezekiel have the classic forbidden type romance. The author does this in such a unique an interesting way. Involving a curse has been done before, but I really like the way it’s done in this book. But as any exceptional para romance, this romance element is not the only thing this book has to offer. The action and each character struggling with not only their own problems but also the problems around them ties altogether and creates a story woven of such interesting threads that you will not be able to put it down. I cannot wait to see what else this series has to offer and anxiously await when I can read the next book.
If you are a fan of Paranormal Romance, I highly recommend this book.

The Wandering Isles: A Crown of Stones Novella (The Crown of Stones Novella Series Book 1) by C. L. Schneider. Once again I found myself sinking into a storyline a bit outside my normal reading but that’s nothing new with this author,. I often find myself completely drawn in with the books from this author. This is a off shoot from another fantastic series and while there’s some character overlap you can read this as a stand-alone without any confusion, but I do highly recommend the other books also. From page one I knew I was in for another great adventure and the characters had me hooked from beginning to end. The storyline is well thought out and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. The characters simply draw you in and I found myself completely losing track of the outside world for a while which I loved. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.

The Wandering Isles is the first in a series of novellas that continues the story of C.L. Schneider’s Crown of Stones series. It’s been a while since I read the series, so it’s great to get more of the story! The novella format is a departure from the longer novels that made up the original series. It works well with this story, which focuses on a single incident on Troy and Kane’s journey. It’s an intense, mysterious story with strong psychological elements which is short enough to hold the reader captive for the duration. The connection between Troy and Kane, both magical and personal, is a powerful force and motivator in the Crown of Stones series and the nature of this story, where the two are travelling alone and are forced to confront and expose some of their deepest and darkest fears, really develops that relationship. For me, this is a five-star read. I was totally immersed in the strange world Troy and Kane found themselves in and couldn’t put the book down! It reminded me at times of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, and also of a Stargate SG-1 episode (The Gamekeeper – S2 Ep4). It was also great to be reminded of the Crown of Stones series – I want to reread all of the books now! This could be read as a standalone, but for me it was particularly powerful in that it reminded me of the events and tensions of the novels. If you have enjoyed the Crown of Stones series, this is definitely worth a read! If you haven’t read them yet, this might be a good place to start as a shorter story that gives you a taste of Schneider’s style and introduces the characters.

I was so pleased when I saw this book as I loved the 3 Crown of Stones books. Even though this is a stand alone book I would recommend reading the other 3 so you get a full picture of the characters and their stories.
Ian and Jarryd have left their lives behind and took a ship to sail away and have an adventure. Following Ian ancestors journey they find themselves captured by the islanders of the Wandering Isles. An ancient people they live off peoples fears and so we see the journey of Ian and Jarryd as they face their fears from the past and the fears for the future.
Its a gripping adventure which keeps you guessing at every turn. I cant wait to see if their adventure continues and what will happen next.

I love the premise of this book – the world at war, when Angels decide to interfere, but years later, those touched or changed by Angels are recruited to join one of two schools. This is where the teenagers learn who they are and what they are capable of.
This book will catch you attention from the start. It sure is hard to put down! I’m excited to find a new to me author and I look forward to reading more of this series.

Mrs. Elledge has done a fantastic job writing this book! She captured my attention from the beginning and had it to the end. I found it hard to put it down.
Gabriella, a teenage girl, has been running for the last two years. When she’s finally caught up to she’s taken to one of the academies. She’s told not to trust anyone because you never know which side they’ll choose. The quote I choose for Gabriella is: “Maka? You’ve called me that before what does it mean?”
Finn, the commander for one of the academies, catches up to Gabriella. There he finds that there’s more to her than meets the eye. He then finds himself drawn to her and finds himself protecting her. The quote I choose for Finn is: “It wouldn’t be important to anyone else. They took it because they are trying to figure me out.”
I really advise anyone who’s reading this to be ready to laugh. This book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves a good laugh.

Blessed: Academy of the Seraph is the first book in the new Academy of the Seraph series by the supremely talented Brandi Elledge. I absolutely LOVE Ms. Elledge’s books- she is one of my favourite authors- on the top 5 list- so it was a given that I would be reading this story. But to say I was blown away is an understatement- I couldn’t have loved it more than I do! I have read it twice already- and will read it again before the next book releases in a few months time- that’s how good it is! This book has a little bit of The Mortal Instruments feel to it- but with its own identity and originality. The way this series is shaping up, it is set to be exceptional!!! I am so excited to see what lays ahead. I have a serious addiction to Ms. Elledge’s stories now, and I need my next fix like STAT! “Blessed” is a multilayered extravaganza of a fantasy that captured me right from the first page- I couldn’t have put it down, even if I’d wanted to- it is completely spellbinding!!! The story is woven around angels and demons, immortals, magic, action, adventure, prophecy, secrets, humour, taco’s, unicorns and puppies (you need to read the story to get the reference to the last three 😊). I really don’t want to give too much away, because you really should read all the exciting details for yourself. So, I will just give you a basic run down- a little taste of what to expect. Gabriella Arien is what they call ‘blessed’- as in touched by angels kind of blessed. There is also a war raging between the angels and the fallen and their demons. There are two Academies looking to recruit new ‘soldiers’- The Seraph Academy (Angel Academy) and the Empowered Academy (the Darken/Fallen Academy). There are compulsory trials held regularly to pick/find new recruits who have been ‘touched’, then gauge their level of power before being trained. Gabriella has managed to avoid the last few trials as she wants no part of the academy, or the war. But she is finally forced to attend, and so her adventure begins. She will soon discover that there is far more to her, to the Academy of Seraph, and to the whole situation than she could ever have imagined. As danger begins stalking her, she is going to have to decide who should she trust? And can she keep under the radar long enough to figure things out? With betrayal, politics, power plays, hidden agendas, magnetic chemistry, and an incredible adventure- this story is truly a riveting read!! I can not recommend it highly enough!!! Brilliant!!!!

This story held my attention from the first page until the last page. I was looking for a mystery with a thriller tone to it. Lawrence Parlier’s The Frontman did just that gave me a story that I could not put down. His character development is complex and full of zeal. The plot-line is full of twists and turns and kept me flipping the pages because I could not wait to see what was coming. This story is about a music man, Kerry. At the beginning of his tour, he is found dead. The question his family is asking is it accidental or was it murder. Watch and see how the family handles the death of Kerry. Will it turn out to be accidental or murder? Can there be justice? I highly recommend this story. I will caution you once you start this book you may not be able to put it down.

Wow! What a great story! This easily kept my interest and yet the storytelling made me keep reading to get answers. I loved it! The characters are lovely. They have depth to them that slowly comes out over the story. Remy is an amazing character! She is outlandish and made me laugh more than once. Finn and Trev are both seriously sexy men and they each have that certain commanding presence that draws me over and over. Gabrielle is full of mystery and faithfulness. I can’t wait to see when she becomes fully in control.
I loved the flow of the story with characters that drew me in. That “flight” scene was done wonderfully! I could almost “feel” what it was like to be able to do that! Well Done! I can not wait for the next one!

Blessed: Academy of the Seraph by Brandi Elledge is a fantastic new series. I will warn you that this book ends on a cliffhanger leaving you wanting more. The story is interesting and new and left me excited to get through the book. I really enjoyed the interactions between angels and humans and how their relationship has developed over the course of the book. I really enjoyed the main character and how she learned about herself and the people around her. This is a great book for a teen and older. I like the changing dynamics between the characters. There are some you can trust and some you can’t and trials and tribulations bring out the best or worst in people. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future and from this author.

Exciting and engaging, Blessed: The Academy of Seraph by Brandi Elledge, is a 5-Star read. I loved the characters and how easy it was to visualize them as I read. They all had wonderful development as the story progressed. Each scene was depicted well and descriptive enough to visualize with ease. I also enjoyed how easy the storyline was to follow. It had an excellent flow that really kept my attention. This was a magnificent book and I highly recommend it!

Blessed: Academy of the Seraph by Brandi Elledge is a fantastic YA paranormal fantasy story that had me enthralled all the way through. I loved it. All I could think about is how many hours of work I had left before I could pick it up again. Brandi did good with this story and her writing style has the ability to transport you right into the story. The plot is gripping, and the characters are deep, complex and relatable. The world she has envisioned is complex and believable and beautifully woven. It has all the ingredients and magic to make for a great read. There is suspense and heartache, fun and humour, action and adventure, second chance and romance. I absolutely loved it. I am now anxiously waiting for the book.

I loved reading the book The Wandering Isles: A Crown of Stones Novella (The Crown of Stones Novella Series Book 1) by C. L. Schneider. It is a story that has magic and takes the characters to the Wandering Isles. There they find action and danger. I loved reading about the characters of Ian and Jarryd. The book comes alive as you read from their POV. The story had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. This is a dark fantasy book that had me on the edge of my seat. I found my emotions going up and down with both Ian and Jarryd’s as they try to understand the race of beings that they have encountered as well as the situations that they are subjected to. This is a book that had me feeling like I was right there with Jarryd and Ian. I have read The Crown of Stones Trilogy and was excited that I would once again have an opportunity to read about another adventure of two of my favorite characters. Don’t miss out on an entertaining story that you will not want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading this book.
