Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns – Wolf (Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns Series) by R. C. Reigh – Review by Callie Luna

Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: WolfKingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf by R.C. Reigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns was a good introduction to the series. I enjoyed that the point of view changed to get the full story. Amelia is a princess that wants to have her freedom. Instead she is being forced into an arranged marriage with a wolf prince (Dane), it is the last thing she wants. Her cousin Cora is her protector and a master on the battlefield. Prince Dane is a strong fighter and protector of his pack. He will stop at nothing to protect his kingdom and promote peace. And don’t forget the dragons and the necromancers daughter ready to stir up trouble. They are all attending the same academy with the other nobles of the 7 kingdoms. The chapters are short and easy to read. I’m interested in reading the next book in the series due to the ending.

Selene can’t hold down a job. Everyone thinks she hovers, stares, and smells weird. The day she loses her last job, she also learns that she is being evicted. She goes to see her only friend to see if she can help. A job posting is found and it’s quite intriguing. The job is on an island where masks must be worn at night. Only the guests and the owners stay on site on the island, but Selene finds herself staying at the hotel too since she has no other means for housing.

Things sure do change at night! Nothing is as it seems during the day and Selene learns a lot when she removes a mask.

This was an interesting read. I enjoyed it for the most part. I do feel like the story could have been longer to explain a few more things in detail but I also appreciate that it was a shorter read (52 pages). I’m curious if this will be a story developed more further in a future series.

This collection of short stories definitely caught me off guard as the blurbs are rather short and the cover is unassuming. As I hadn’t read any of their work before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I definitely enjoyed reading through these. I did take note of the content warning and really appreciate the author for providing that heads up. These are all paranormal romance stories that are short enough to fit one in at lunchtime. The only real complaint I had about this read was that I wanted more from each story! Haven was particularly enjoyable as it was a different kind of shifter that I hadn’t encountered before. I recommend picking this collection up and giving it a chance as you will find at least one that you enjoy!

What an interesting book.
This is completely different Book all about shifter romance except each its a compilation of short stories inside this book. There is every kind of shifter you can dream up and my favorite was the gargoyle story as I hadn’t ever read a shifter story about a gargoyle.
That being said this book has a lot.of dark content and the books are mostly insta love/lust and they are definitely spicy sometimes to the point id say they are short Erotica stories with a shifter focus. The trigger warnings is pretty vague but it means business with some pretty dark themes so just be careful if that kind of content isn’t your thing.
Overall this was something completely different and enjoyable.

This was a brilliant start to the Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns series, and I am already looking forward to the next book! It was also my first book from this author, but they quickly made it to my watch list. I am a huge fan of anything fantasy related, and this was a great addition to my YA fantasy collection. I loved the ability the author displayed as they painted each scene for readers to experience instead of just observing. This story focuses on Dane and Amelia and is told from multiple points of view, which is also a quick way to my heart. The flow of the story is magnificent and at least part of the reason why I devoured this book in one sitting. If you enjoy wolves, dragons, and fae along with an action-filled storyline that keeps you guessing, don’t wait any longer because this is your book!

This was a really cute collection of shifter love stories. I enjoy paranormal stories of all kinds and this collection with its variety of shifters was just right. It included not just the normal wolf shifters but had stories about dragons, gargoyles, and hellhounds. The happy ending for each was nice. If you like shifter romance, I recommend this book to you.

This was a short read, but I liked the premise. I found the main character, Selene, relatable in the sense that she’s a bit socially unlucky. The only thing I would have enjoyed more is if there had been a little bit more build-up to the big reveal. Otherwise, this is a great little jaunt into the land of steamy imagination.

I love this short story by one of my favourite authors. It was so easy to connect with the story and be swept away by everything taking place. I hadn’t read the blurb before starting the book, so hadn’t expected the RH element. However, that really just added to the story.
This author has truly become one of my favourites over the last couple of years and I am always so excited to get my hands on another of her books. This one was absolutely brilliant. My only complaint is that I wish it were longer!

This is a collection of 6 short shifter romances. Each one of them is unique and we have shifters of all kinds from werewolves, and cats to a shark which was a first and very unique story for me.
I am a real lover of paranormal romances and I love the dymantic between the dominant shifter and their fated mate. All the stories are fated mate stories however none of them are straight forward or easy.
The author does an amazing job of captivating the reader and each story is unique and different which I loved. I also loved how the fated mates to these powerful, handsome, breathtaking men were just normal woman with curves and insecurities. It made you feel it could happen to you. The only little thing for me is the stories even though they felt complete and finished with me being greedy I wanted so much much.
I really enjoyed this collection and I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Curse of the Forbidden Island by C.A. King – Review by Darla Yocom

Curse of Forbidden IslandCurse of Forbidden Island by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Selene, the main character, immediately finds herself in a position where she has no place to live and no job. She thinks she always puts 100% effort into her jobs, yet she continuously finds herself let go. So much so, the local job finding business refuses to help her. This doesn’t stop her from asking for something, anything they can offer. Thankfully someone takes pity on her and conveniently walks away so she can preview any job listings their office received. This is when her life forever changes.

Selene thinks she’s found a cushy job in paradise and after speaking with one of the owners, finds that her room and board would be covered if she takes the position to live on the island while completing her job. The details were a bit sketchy, but she rolls with it. When she first arrives, she isn’t bothered by the fact that she will be the only employee who stays overnight on the island other than the owners and the visitors staying at the establishment. Then she is informed that if she ventures outside after dusk, she must wear a mask at all times.

She immediately finds the mysterious island exciting, intriguing and a tiny bit dangerous.

The author created yet another paranormal romance plot that is a bit outlandish, but still satisfying for those who enjoy a bit of steaminess. Selene is a bit annoying at first, but you will soon grow to love her. While the book is a quick read, I felt it was missing a bit more details to fully reach its potential. I think overall readers will enjoy it, but it leaves you wanting to know more. Maybe a good start to a series for this character/location? Either way, I cannot wait to read the author’s next book.

I love this story. Curse of the Forbidden Island is a supernatural fantasy story with a mix of intrigue, myths and definitely some steam. Although the story was short, it really packed a punch. I loved the premise of the storyline and I could not put this down until the very end…..

What can possibly happen when you are down on your luck looking for the next job….Selene finds out when she find a job that could good to be true. Imagining the perfect job on a beautiful island with all amenities included! When talk about the island and the myths linger….Selene is still all in. When pieces of the puzzle come together….what is the Curse of this island…..

Definitely read and find out, I do not want to give any spoilers away…..and the ending!!! Another great story by this author….

I really liked the premise of this short story and I really hope/wish/want/plead with C.A. King to do a more in-depth telling of this story. The Curse of the Forbidden Island is a paranormal/horror/reverse harem/romance that definitely has the potential to be a fantastic book. My biggest issue with it is that I felt rushed throughout and there were some plot holes and parts of the plot that I wish were more developed. I also really wanted the characters to be more developed. I felt that the information we were given was just dumped on the reader (sometimes seemingly at random) and it could have been more developed. I also recognize that this short story is only 52 pages long and there’s only so much time which is why I’d really love to see this developed into a longer story. The plot is there and I think King has the ability and wherewithal to do it. This is a super quick 20-30 minute read (depending on how many distractions you have ;)) and it’s spicy in all the right ways. Like I said, I enjoyed it but I’d just like to see more character development and some of the plot holes filled in and more plot development as well.

I loved this one. What a cool PNR read. It was fascinating from the start. Looking for that fresh start, she ends up at a resort that most employees don’t stay on at night. I laughed at the story. I had unfog my glasses because there’s a bit of steamy romance. It’s a story that will catch you right from the start. You won’t want to put it down. You’ll want to if the island is cursed or not and th author won’t tell you early. I love the writing of the book. She’ll make you wait till towards the end. Really fun characters that make the story with their personalities. I found the story made a dull evening quite entertaining. It’s a quick read that’s well worth it.

Nothing anyone said in the daylight was going to change a thing. The fact remained: what happened at night was real enough to change things forever.
It was always the same: a warm night, a scream of desire on the wind, the pounding of the ocean waves. Yeah, about as cliché as it got. Knowing that didn’t make it any less real. When there was a mystery afoot, she was there searching for answers.
They weren’t fooling anyone. It was obvious the six owners of the resort were masquerading as Casanovas. That was the reason for all her snooping around: she was going to figure out exactly what was happening on the island, if she had to rip one mask off of them at a time.
In retrospect, maybe she wanted to keep her job instead of playing detective.

About C.A. King

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.

Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.

To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.

People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.

I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.

I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

Fast forward to today…

Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns – Wolf (Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns Series) by R. C. Reigh – Review by Donya Pedigo

Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: WolfKingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf by R.C. Reigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am completely enamored by this book and these fantastic characters. When I read (GOT and LOTR meet Pride and Prejudice as book one of the Kingdom of Seven Sovereigns series follows four noble teens into their inaugural year at the Bastion academy), in the description I knew I had to read this book and wow am I glad I did. R. C. Reigh has created such an amazing world within these pages that you won’t want to leave! You are pulled into the story even more as you get the first-person perspective and really get to see and know what the characters are feeling and experiencing.

Will the fragile peace of these seven kingdoms be able to remain intact or will the 500 years of war start up again? Amelia, the Princess of Avonlee, wants to keep the peace, but she wants her freedom as well. That means her finding anyway to be released from the marriage part of the treaty that her parent’s setup with the wolf king of Carpathia, Prince Danes’ father. The arrogant Prince Dane, who is reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice Mr. Darcy will have you both loving and hating him! While other characters like Kessara, the necromancer’s daughter, will leave you trying to guess what she will do next to disrupt the school and everyone in it. This school, which is the first of its kind, has taken several years to make to ensure the safety of all the seven kingdoms’ royal descendants along with other students, so that they can come together and learn from and about one another. Will they make friends or are they destined to be enemies despite the treaty of peace? I honestly can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Bastian Academy is a school for the 7 different sovereigns which consist of different species. Wolves, humans, fae, and more! This book mostly focuses on a human princess, Amelia, and a wolf prince, Dane.

When the duo were just mere children, they were betrothed due to a treaty between the two kingdoms. Amelia wants out of her arranged marriage especially since her heart belongs to another but once Dane meets her, he decides then and there that she is his whether she likes it or not.

Amelia will stop at nothing to try to end her engagement, including potential treason. Dane wants to be the best fighter on campus but having Amelia around is proving to be a distraction for him.

This being the first time that the 7 kingdoms are together, not all goes peacefully and Amelia and Dane have to put their differences aside to save not only themselves but others as well.

The book is written from multiple point of views giving you a glimpse into the budding romance of the main characters but also some outside plot. I really liked Dane’s character and was rooting for these enemies to become lovers from day one.

After this intriguing introduction to the series, I will most likely look into the rest of the series!

Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: WolfKingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf by R.C. Reigh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the series called Wolf. It is going to be a great series I can tell already. Each book will focus on a different couple and this couple is Princess Amelia of Avonlee and Prince Dane a wolf shifter. They are all in an academy where people from the Seven Kingdom have all joined together. Once enemies of each other are they really going to live peacefully now or is something sinister happening underneath the surface.

Amelia and Dane have been promised to each other as a way to keep the alliance between the wolfshifters and the Avonlee people secure. However Amelia has her sights set else where and is planning on changing Prince Danes mind about the whole arranged marriage.
Dane however has no intention of ending the agreement when as soon as he meets her he knows she is his fated mate. Now he is more determined than ever to show her that despite their arrangement they are actually fated mates. Amelia however is very stubborn and determined to push Dane away at every turn.
Will Amelia realised the truth or will her constant refusal lead to a breakdown between Amelia’s family and Dane’s pack?

The author does an incredible job of weaving this story full of adventure and magic. There are so many creative characters from wolf’s to dragons and witches to Fae. Each character is unique and I can’t wait to see and learn more about them as the series progresses.

A fun book full of short stories of different shifter types, they love they find and the hurdles they have to overcome. My favorite of the short stories was House of Harlots, I loved the heartbreak Ivy goes through and the way her and Jax come together. Along with all the drama with his pack in between. Cat and Mouse was another favorite, Rowan loves Elorah, but Elorah just isn’t getting it. Their story is sweet and I am glad he never gives up on going after her. After I finished Release the Hellhound, I was left wondering what was coming next, it seemed to end abruptly but we get an ending for Ezekiel and Lorna at the beginning of A Mate for Draco. I like how the these two stories flowed one right after the other. Gargoyle Mine was a fun and interesting read, I have never read a shifter romance with a gargoyle and it was interesting how Bryant or Ekkom came to be with Terra.

Shifter Shorts by TK Lawyer is a mix of Paranormal/ Fantasy / Shifter Romance stories that are short stories each focuses on different characters. My only complaint is I wish they were just a bit longer. Couple of the stories felt a bit rushed in spots. This collection contains a mix of shifter romance, dark romance and paranormal fantasy. My favorite of the collection would have to be Gargoyle Mine. I was definitely surprised by the shark shifter story as I’ve not read one before. I will say there may be some content that may be a trigger for some. I enjoyed reading this book and highly suggest reading it. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

First the cover caught my eye then the synopsis piqued my interest. By the end of the first chapter I was fully hooked. I could not put the book down. It started as just one more chapter before bed and ended with finishing the book a few hours past when I should have been asleep. There is adventure, rivals, academy setting, and a unique cast of characters. Bonus, enemies to rivals trope.

I am definitely a fan of this series and cannot wait to get lost in the next book in the series.

The short stories cover multiple shifters, from Big Cats to Gargoyles and everything in between.
WE start with Elorah and Rowan, we meet Terra and Bryant,Ezekiel and Lorena to name a few.
Many of the stories could easily continue on to a full length book, and there were certainly 2 that I feel I need to know what happens.
Really fully immersive YA fantasy romance, that I hope follows through in the following books in this series. This one, the start takes us along the enemy to lovers, arranged marriage path. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
The world building and character development is really good. I found it hard to put down,
The 7 sovereigns of the country are at the Bastian, the magical academy. Where we are introduced to multiple characters and their backgrounds are touched on. It is told in multiple POV which gives a better take on all the characters and their backstory.
Fated Mates, Arrangements, Werewolves,Dragon shifters, Fae, Witches, Necromancers and Royalty all in one place.
In this book we meet and follow Princess Amelia and Prince Dane as they navigate their relationship. Amelia is trying to finally make her own decisions, which means trying to get out of the arrangements her father has made and make her own choices. And Dane fighting the need to continue the job of alpha without allowing his tether to his fated mate control him. Will they be happy ever after?
5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf is Book 1 in this series and can I say I LOVED this story. I was first drawn the beautiful cover and intrigued by the story-line….this gave me all that I love with a
Fantasy YA Romance story. This is a new author to me and I am feeling already invested to see where this series of magic, shifters, fated mates, drama, angst, hidden agendas and some romance will take me. This story has multiple POVs , and this really brought the story together.

What are the chances of a strong princess in Amelia and a wolf shifter, Dane could be fated mates? It is true and Amelia at first wants no parts of having an arrangement of marriage that serves value to her people…she wants to make her own choices. Prince Dane of Carpathia is trying with is every being to accept what his fate is with a treaty that his father has in store for him and also a marriage arrangement with Princess Amelia. Prince Dane is trying to get to know Amelia slowly, especially through Amelia’s cousin, Cora…but his patience is wearing thin to where it is very frustrating. With a necromancer’s daughter, Kessera, with a mist of chaos and her own agenda, Prince Dane and Princess Amelia must try to work together for the greater good…but with vampires, goblins and attacks happening at the castle…will Prince Dane be able to be there for Princess Amelia……….and will the princess finally be able to break down her wall around her heart and give Prince Dane a chance….

Definitely read and find out. I cannot say enough about this story…it is truly fantastic…I am already looking forward to the next book with dragons…

Didn’t realize these were a bunch of shorts stories but I still enjoyed them. Not my typical reads but it definitely had my attention. Loved the diversity of all the characters! Shifters and all that, is something I’m rather new too but nothing I’m against. If you want some hot shifters and a quick read, pick this one up.

In these series of stories, you have 6 different couples. I loved reading these stories, but definitely do not let the lighthearted cover fool you. I thought it was going to be a lighthearted series of stories that would get my feel goods going. Boy was I wrong. The hellhound story threw me off because I was not expecting something that I would normally read with such a lighthearted cover. Once I got over the hurdle that my brain was processing over the cover vs what I was reading, I got to fully enjoy the stories. They were as the cover says short. Each was a quick read with it’s own good story. A lot of steam in each story as well. My only complaint would be a little better detailed content warning simply because the hellhound story is a little darker than the rest of the stories.
