Told from multiple points of view the past and present mix to make an incredible picture of this dystopian world. I enjoyed the complexities of the story and the way the author presented the information about it to the readers. The story flowed in such a way that you get pieces of the larger puzzle slowly and keeps you intrigued throughout. I found that I didn’t immediately love each of the characters, for various reasons, but came to understand their circumstances. The idea of a caste system and fantastical elements of powers gave more to the story than I’d originally hoped and definitely held my attention and kept me engaged in the story.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites for sure. I found this fantasy story easy and entertaining to read. It is a well written story about how far and what are you willing to risk to save someone. What has instore for these characters you don’t want to miss. This is a hard to put down fantasy story that is fast paced and engaging. The characters pull you into their world with ease and kept my attention throughout. They are strong, relatable and creative characters that add so much to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry throughout the story. This is a story that you don’t want to miss. It took me on an adventure of romance and survival. I highly recommend this book.

Starting off, I didn’t think I would get into the story as much as I did. This book really had me feeling many different emotions. I was angry at everyone for keeping things from Tally, sad that Jophiel seemed to be giving her the cold shoulder and heartbroken that she was hurting so much when she lost something so important. Miyu really got my blood boiling with the her sneaking around, and the way she treats Yoshi and Tally. In the end I understand she was honestly just lost. Lost in her family’s history. Reading of Miyu’s grandmother’s story at the beginning of each chapter was prefect. We get a glimpse of why things ended the way they did for Miyu and her grandmother. Learning of some Japanese traditions, and different cultural things was very interesting and really makes me want to visit Japan.

Wow! This is a fantastic paranormal romance. Cressida and Caravahl have a romance to remember. She’s thrust into an arranged marriage in a strange land. Caravahl has to risk it all to save his land and Cressida. The characters are very well-written. This is a love for the ages. So beautiful. The plot runs so smooth. I am amazed at how well the story flows. The chemistry sparks as the romance develops. This is flat-out a must read of this year.

Wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book. It is a more modern take on Sleeping Beauty. When I say modern, I mean it in the form of the love interests in this book and the updated surroundings. The reason I wasn’t sure what to expect is because whether we want to admit it or not we all have preconceived notions when it comes to a retelling or even to using the same plot lines just enough to draw reference. There is magic, love, friendship, and fantasy. This version allows for you to take what you thought you knew about a Sleeping beauty story and have it recreated in your mind to the possibility of what it would have been like if the main characters were both males. This story builds and builds which shows character depth and world building scenarios. The magic that is involved isn’t done to where you need a glossary of terms to understand. This made the book enjoyable for me to read. It was classically done with an amazing twist. I highly suggest reading this book to allow yourself the opportunity to reimagine what Sleeping Beauty could be like. This was so much fun to have my son read to me; we’re working on reading skills, and he did really well with it. He loved the book and can’t wait for more. We haven’t read this author before, but based off this book we need to check out any others! I loved how easily it kept my son engaged, with a little suspense to it. This is an interesting retelling of a fairytale sleeping beauty. I enjoyed meeting Ayo and Yi and getting to be along for their journey. Magic and Eastern kingdoms take center stage in this story. It was nice to see Asian main characters. Yi and Ayo are both strong characters and must fight hard to find their happy ever after. Their story is a sweet romance filled with a nice mix of cation and emotions. Not only do we get the main story but many of the supporting characters have their say. The plot is good but does drag in some places. The author does a nice job of bringing a new twist to an old tale.

Sleeping Love is a fantasy, MM romance bringing a fresh take to the Cinderella fairy tale. I was wondering if I would fall for this book because it is difficult to bring a fresh take to a tried and true story. This author took the story and added so many unique elements to make it her own. One element I enjoyed was the Eastern influences on the characters, setting, and world-building. Ayo and Yi are a fascinating match. One is royalty, and the other a pauper. I was rooting for them to break barriers and become so much more than friends and not be torn apart by their circumstances. If you love fairy tales, Eastern mythology, fantasy, and more, this book will not be left on your to-be-read pile long. I look forward to reading more from this author soon.

I found this book to be unique and interesting. This author is new to me and I found the writing to be very detailed and descriptive. I was taken on an adventure in this dystopian world and the author pulled into the story and kept me reading. There is quite a bit going on in this story with many different characters and going back and forth in the timeline but don’t let that deter you because it isn’t hard to follow. There is great character growth and action, family, friends and so much more in this book. This isn’t my usual genre but I’m glad I decided to pick it up and read it because I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I have some favorite characters and when you read this you will find which ones are yours. I look forward to reading what the next book will have in store for us. I felt this was a very good read.

This is an entertaining story right from the start. The twins were brilliant characters. I loved their dynamic and the connections they built with the the other characters. They were engaging and easy to connect with. The story itself was well written and fast paced. It was an exciting story that would appeal to all ages. I also really liked the cover of the book. It has a light hearted feel, which is unusual for this genre Book. This is a great story that is thoroughly enjoyable.

This is a beautiful MM friends to lovers romance. It is also a twist on the story of Sleeping beauty where the spell is only broken my true loves kiss. The author does an amazing job of creating the world and it is full of magic, danger, and longing love. This story has characters that you want to succeed in the form of Ayo and then characters you can stand such as the king.
Ayo had grown up beside the Prince but once his magic start to show the king banished him to an island and took away his magic. Now Ayo is forced to live along and struggle to survive, he is also banned from seeing his friend Prince Yi. That is until a curse is placed over the kingdom and the only person who can save Prince Yi is Ayo. But that is just the beginning. Once Yi is awoken from the curse the pair move forward looking to get Ayo’s powers back. Together they must overcome enemies old and new while fighting for each other. Bit as secrets and past actions start to come alight will the pair be able to hold on to their new found love or will the past destroy their only chance of happiness I really enjoyed this story. I felt every struggle and fight that Ayo has had to endure from losing his parents, to being stripped of his magic and exiled away from the one person he loves. I do love how strong and determined his is to fight for his love no matter the consequences or the obstacles in front of them.

As the story goes on, you are drawn in more and more and root for them until the last page. The supporting characters and descriptive text bring the story to life in front of your eyes! Definitely a great for those young readers who are into magic and lore or older readers who want a fun shorter read!

I was excited to hear that there was another book in the series following Ian and Jarryd! This one starts off with them on a ship sailing to find the Wandering Isles. It starts raining red and they are met by people made from mist wanting to trade. Ian is transported to the island and a fight against an enemy he thinks is dead and Jarryd is transported back to his cell. They have to fight against all their fears: past, present, and future, but the imagery is so real and lifelike that Ian and Jarryd have to remind themselves what is real and what is not. I was sucked into the novella in the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. I love the trilogy and this one is set after the last book. I felt like I got to know Ian and Jarryd even better in this book and can’t wait to see what the author does next!

Don’t let the “novella” label fool you! The Wandering Isles is the length of a regular book. But, for The Crown of Stones Series, this book is considerably shorter than the others. Although reading the rest of the series can enhance the reading of this book, it is not necessary to its understanding. C. L. Schneider brings the same wonderful, realistic, flawed characters and amazing world building that is in the other books. I felt so many emotions in this book; confusion, fear, helplessness. I felt like The Wandering Isles added more of a psychological element to the fantasy world, and I absolutely loved it! What’s more terrifying than the thoughts and fears of your own mind? How do you escape that which is inside you? C. L. Schneider; wonderful job on this book!

I did have the opportunity to read the crown of stones trilogy before this one. You could read this on its own without reading the trilogy the back story is detailed enough that you wouldn’t feel lost or confused but I think it was benefit reading the trilogy first for a better understanding, with that being said. This was an incredible book. It was a very action-packed fantasy, filled with adventure, magic, drama, worldbuilding, captivating, creative story and worlds. We see the two characters Jarrod and Ian tested in ways that make you wonder if they are going to either get out of it or figure it out. This book kept my ADHD attention till the very end, I couldn’t put it down till I found out what happened in the end and can’t wait to see when we will have more stories with Jarrod and Ian. Such an amazing read and very intriguing story.

Hope and Lies is the first book in The Abredea Series and is a Dystopian Fantasy that will pull you into their world and makes it hard to put down. I did nothing for a day and a half but read this book. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is a new author to me and I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed characters make for a epic ride. Get ready for quite the ride that is emotional at times in this book about finding yourself and how far one will go to make new friends while looking for family. I highly recommend reading this to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

A little bit of a Harry Potter feel to it has the reader diving into the story of Jon and Frank Reed. They are twins with some pretty cool special abilities. When they are sent away to school to refine these abilities, they come across some interesting people who are like them in some ways. The school has regular academic coursework, along with classes for each special gift.
Jon is a bit of an enigma as they’ve not seen his gift in many years. Could that gift become his downfall, his curse? He gets to have exposure to the Guardian of Whispers but then it does missing and everyone automatically blames him. Can Frank help him out in any way? Frank hears voices so maybe Jon can get a message to him before it’s too late.
This is a super fun middle school fantasy book. I look forward to reading about the next adventures of the Reed brothers!

I loved this! I read the first 2 in this series and this one didn’t disappoint! Lots of twists and turns that I didn’t expect. I love Wilf’s and Myra’s characters. Both have been on journeys of self discovery and in this book they discover a lot about themselves. It’s a fantastic book; well written and can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us.

I like the covers on all the books in the series but this feels a little different , like the magic is possessing Ian and after reading , even more so 💥
This is the end of the trilogy and be sure to have read the other books otherwise you’ll feel totally lost , I’ll be honest I was exhausted as I binge read but that in no way reflects on the book ❣️📚 what I would recommend is take a breather in between each one that way you will take more in and do the series justice 🥰
The fate of an entire race lays at Ian’s feet and sacrifices have to be made and again it seems like it all falls on Ian . Everything comes together and there’s action , love , drama and quite a bit of action , so a few boxes have been ticked 😉

To me , it feels like Ian is seen as the saviour of the Shinree but at what cost ? A sequel can either be better than the first book or it can go the other way and disappoint you , this did neither, that’s not a bad thing though , it keeps your interest , it makes you wonder and question and there was a little more spice this time round 😉

The Shinree are a suppressed nation and “bred” as slaves and to serve and wait upon others ( this really saddens me )
Ian is a Shinree and cones from a family of warriors so it’s pretty much expected that he’s pulled into the ongoing war with the Langorians ….
Ian has a good heart but at times it felt like his goodness was being taken for granted and what’s a good story if there’s not a dash of romance 😍 all in all a magical welcome back into a world of fantasy 🍄

This is a new series and a new author to me. The author does a wonderful job of world building this dystopian novel that pulls you into the world of Pangaea. Living in a caste society to keep everyone in peace and order. The story takes place in two different eras, one from 70 years ago and now, helping us understand how the characters feel, what they are trying to change and so much more. The story line is woven in such a way to keep us reading and wanting to know more. The fact that we see these characters grow and strengthen within the book helped keep my attention too. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
