Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book 2 in the Gray Ghost series, kept me on the edge of my seat. Chris and Mari are an unlikely pair and the way they are brought together is intriguing. This story has things happening that you never see coming and you don’t know whether to root for Mari, want to smack her, or be hurt for her. I felt their connection and their disconnect which left me tossing and turning while reading. This author always brings it all home and you can count on a great storyline.

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost Series #1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Colleen Noyes

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost, #1)Broken Circle by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Broken Circle by Amy McKinley is an easy four-star read. This book immediately has love, action, murder and Mayham. Liv and Alex seem to be living their best life and being very much in love. When Liv is surprised by a life-changing event she has no idea that it’s about to throw everything she knows and everything she cares about into complete turmoil that will eventually end in lots of bloodshed. I can only imagine how being in love with someone and finding out all these devastating secrets could affect you. As everything that Amy McKinley writes in this genre you will be on the edge of your toes waiting to see what happens next. I really enjoyed how each character is introduced I can’t wait to see where this series goes. If you enjoy an action filled romantic suspense then I recommend grabbing this book.

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was to read Hawk’s story. I have read every book in the Gray Ghost series thus far and just when you think they can’t get any better, Amy McKinley out does herself once again.

Vantage Point has everything I’ve come to love and expect from Amy McKinley’s writing, action, suspense, romance wrapped into a fast paced story you don’t want to put down.

I highly recommend this book, this author and this series, it has been the most memorable set of books I’ve read in a long time.

Vantage Point by Amy McKinley is the 4th book in the Gray Ghost series and my favorite so far! Having read every book of the series I would suggest reading it in proper sequence in order to get the backstory and character introductions out of the way and this way nothing is left out.

I have been looking forward to Hawk’s story since his first appearance as he’s such an intriguing character. His story did not disappoint! Hawk and Stella are the perfect match and I loved everything about their story, it was intense, action-packed, detailed, twisted, unexpected and so captivating. I would love to read more about them in the future!

I would absolutely recommend this book and series to anyone looking for their next read!

Okay, I thought the last Gray Ghost book was my favorite, but no. Vantage Point is the best one yet! Hawk is the quiet one of the bunch and becomes concerned about all the fighting he hears in his neighbors apartment. His neighbor, Stella, and her brother are constantly fighting over his gambling issues. Hawk’s instincts are correct as Stella is swept up in her brother’s latest. There is suspense, action, a feisty strong female lead and a hot alpha male. This book was just so good!!! I read it in one sitting. I’m hoping Keegan’s story is next!

As with the others this book is fast paced and intense. Each page was a thrilling turn . Hawk has to be my favourite character of this series so far. I loved the connection between him and Stella. They just seemed to pop entirely off the page. And the story the author created with this book was just brilliant. I enjoyed every part of it. This one has easily just become my favourite of the series.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface, the third book in the Gray Ghost series, by Amy McKinley is a thrilling military romance suspense. Continuing within the theme of the Gray Ghost novels, this story features Hannah and Jack. This story was complex with layers and layers of mystery, deceit and lies just boiling to break free. Amy McKinley is truly creative in her story line creation along with the sequences that unfolded within. I quickly fell within the pages of the story and pushed through chapter after chapter to see where the author was next taking the characters. These were strong and driven characters in the story, each one standing apart from the next. I couldn’t get enough of Hannah’s drive against Jack’s stance on protecting what he felt needed to be done. Captivating and another great novel by Amy McKinley!!

Beneath the Surface
By Amy McKinley

Ok so Beneath the Surface is the third book in the Gray Ghost series by Amy McKinley. I have had the pleasure of reading all the books so far. I honestly have to say I have yet to be disappointed. While the books can be read as a standalone, there is no reason why you shouldn’t start at the beginning. If you start reading this series, you are not going to want to stop until you have finished. As with the other books in this series we still have the action and romance. There is no way I could pick a favourite out of this series as all three books are as good as each other. Amy has given us an awesome series, I just love her storyline plots and the way she writes the characters. So here are the books so far in this series Book one Broken Circle, book two Eye of the Storm, book three Beneath the Surface and let’s not forget Moments that Define Us (Prequel Book 0). So, either just read Beneath the Surface or do yourself a favour and read all the books.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface is book three in the Gray Ghost Series by Amy McKinley. This series is gripping, edgy, tense dramatics that delivers 5 star quality with every title. A mesmirising and dangerous dance into the dismal oits of society. It is also a delving into the minds, bodies and souls of Hannah and Jack. They are thrown together, and as an agent, had to endure a lot. A strong willed beauty, Hannah and Jack clash when thrown together, creating sparks heat  and passion galore.

Amy McKinley has produced another tantalising tale of love filled with danger, decadence and delight. The characters were bewitching, and they intertwine effortlessly with previous characters. Always easy to get list in, and never easy to put down. Beneath the Surface is a five star read that is best enjoyed after reading the first two books in the series. The only bad thing is when you reach the end and there are no more words, which then commences the nail biting intense wait for the next instalment.

5-stars

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley is book 3 in her Gray Ghost series, an intense and intriguing series that will keep you on your toes! I would highly recommend reading this series in order as each book has interconnected characters, so reading it in order will really enhance your reading experience.

Hannah and Jack’s story is my favorite of the series so far, it’s dark, twisted, intense, action-packed and highly entertaining! I was kept on my toes the whole way through as I tried to piece everything together and not once did I have it properly figured out, and it made this book much more enjoyable. Hannah was such an intriguing character with her tortured past and I really enjoyed being able to read her story.

I would absolutely recommend this book and series to anyone looking for their next romance read that has a side of danger and suspense!

Beneath the Surface is the third book in the Gray Ghost series. It can be read as a standalone. This book didn’t hook me quite as quickly as the first two did, but it was still a good read overall. I liked that Hannah’s strength and ability was not overshadowed by Jack. I found the switches between Hannah’s past and the present well done. It was easy to follow and added depth to her character. Although I had pretty much figured out the mystery by the middle of the book, it still played out in an entertaining way.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“We all have our own secrets to bear, our demons in the past”……

Beneath the Surface is the third book in the Gray Ghosts series by Amy McKinley. It is a fantastic, adrenaline fueled, and action packed romantic suspense. It has a second-chances aspect to the story- with drama, violence, bloody battle scenes, secrets, lies, promises, twists, special forces, espionage, Guerrilla’s, intrigue, danger, gripping situations, and plenty of emotion. The characters are superb, and OMG!- Ms. McKinley certainly puts them through the wringer. I was on tenterhook’s, holding my breath, catapulted from one intense moment right into the next- all the while trying to figure out what would happen next. But, as expected, Ms. McKinley kept me guessing the whole way through.
The story is set against the backdrop of Washington DC, and the deadly environment of the Colombian jungle. The story swallowed me up (in a great way), as I became totally immersed in all the espionage, action, thrills and danger. There was nowhere to turn, the story has me firmly in its grip, and I loved it. I adored “Eye of the Storm” (Book #2) and it was easily my favourite of the series, until this book came along- and now I am having a hard time choosing which one I love more. I guess because this story is set in the same time frame, and the storyline runs parallel with Book #2 (Chris and Mari’s story) is why I love it so much. It has the same feel and intensity, but with its own powerful identity. This could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the rest of the series to get all the backstories, character information, and other pertinent details. As well as the other books being fantastic stories in their own rights! You can’t go wrong with Ms. McKinley at the wheel!
Can’t wait to see what she does next!!!!

Thank you, Ms. McKinley!

Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book 3) By Amy McKinley. This story had my complete attention from page one. I knew I’d be in for a long night when I started it. It’s filled with mystery and suspense that definitely had me on the edge of my seat trying to read faster so I could know what would happen. The only downside to this story for me was that it had to come to an end. Hannah and Jack are characters I won’t be forgetting anytime soon, they worked really well together and it was fun watching them throughout the story. You can read this as a standalone without any confusion but I have faith that you’ll want to read the rest also! The author does a wonderful job of of keeping readers guessing and completely drawn into the story. It’s well written and paced nicely with characters you can definitely connect with. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it. Can’t wait for more from this author.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath the Surface is the third book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series. In the center of the series is a group of mainly ex-military people who take on dangerous assignments. Beneath the Surface takes place round the same time as the previous book, simply focusing on different characters. You can read the story as a standalone but it is much more enjoyable having had read the series in the order as you are already aware of some of the characters and events!
For me, Beneath the Surface is the story of trust … we have a Russian sleeper agent Hannah who works for CIA and hoping one day to avenge her sister and her parents, and then we have Jack, Hannah’s ex and a member of the Gray Ghost team. When Hannah’s past comes back to haunt her, she has to decide if she can trust Jack in the midst of the craziness where so much is at stake! I loved how the story moved between the past and the present and it added layers to the story! This story is full on action filled with danger and passion and deception and … survival and hope for love! I have to say that I have gotten more and more into Amy’s writing with each book and I cannot wait to see who and what comes next!

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley is the third book in the Gray Ghost series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the other books in the series. This story follows the characters Hannah Miller and Jack Davis. This story is action packed with mystery and suspense. I really enjoyed reading it and was disappointed when I got to the end. The characters are interesting and the women are strong. I liked the story with romance and suspense thrown in. I really look forward to reading more from Amy McKinley in the future.

Moments that Define Us (A Gray Ghost Prequel book 0) by Amy McKinley – Review by Ashleigh Harrington

Moments That Define Us (Gray Ghost #0.5)Moments That Define Us by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments that Define Us by Amy McKinley is the first story, a prequel if you will, to her Gray Ghost Series and what a great little backstory for her readers. Following the stories of Jack and Jenni as well as the five other men that are featured in their own books. While this is a prequel it is very fast paced and gives a great look at all the characters and where they all started out. Getting to see where all these characters started out as, getting to see them before each of them grow into their own full bodied character was great to see. McKinley is fantastic author, giving her stories a full bodied series to grow with and characters that her readers can get attached to. Having read most of the series prior to this I enjoyed getting to see all of the characters in such a well written and amazing series. I highly recommend reading this series in order, but each book can be read as a stand-alone. I can’t wait to see what McKinley brings to her readers in the future!

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost #1)Broken Circle by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Broken Circle, by Amy McKinley, is the first book of the Gray Ghost series. This romantic suspense is a great lead in to the series and what to expect from this author with these books. In Broken Circle, Olivia and Alex are the main/feature characters of this novel. The suspense and intrigue are well drawn on throughout the story and I felt tied to the characters as the story unfolded, from Olivia’s emotional state, questions as the come, and curiosity of what lays ahead for both Olivia and Alex. Amy McKinley is a talented author and it shines in the Gray Ghost series, from the character development, the story lines and the anticipation that is built within the stories – it all perfectly comes together in this book/series.

Eye of the Storm, by Amy McKinley, is the second book of the Gray Ghost series. This novel was a pager turner; the author has found the right mix of ingredients to deliver in this novel and do it well. Delving into organized crime and how that impacts actions of the characters within the story were laid out and seamlessly fell into the story. Chris and Mari were elementally aligned here, how they navigate around each other, around others, who they can or cannot trust, along with determining what they do and do not value. This story involved but emotional and physical journeys of survival. Both lead characters were strong. The Gray Ghost series is an unforgettable read!!

Amy McKinley’s Moments That Define Us is a Gray Ghost series prequel. The author sets the stage in this short novella introducing the characters and the events that started what’s potentially to come in subsequent books within the series. I found this story of Jack and his family enlightening, well written and insightful. Amy McKinley shares characters that are flawed, somewhat broken in their own unique ways as they fight to put their mark on the world and find their place. Even with the limited pages of this story, the author packed a lot in and it was done without feeling rushed or over done.

Moments That Define Us (A Gray Ghost Prequel) by Amy McKinley. I’ve read all the Gray Ghost books and I love them. This one was no different. I loved reading about how they came together in the beginning. This is the story of Jack & Jenni, Jack is living in an abandoned building with his “crew”. Jack is trying to protect his neighborhood from Jenni’s brother Rex, the local drug dealer, and keep his friends from falling into Rex’s evil ways. Rex already hates Jack because he is dating his sister. When weapons are brought into the fight it could be the end of them all. These kids have all had a rough upbringing and it was really cool to see where they came from. I love this series and hope there are more.

Moments That Define Us is the prelude (Book #0.5) to Gray Ghost Series by Amy McKinley. I have read all of Ms. McKinley’s books and have loved every single one. She is a fantastic writer who is able to weave a captivating story that hook me every time. I have loved the Gray Ghost series and so I was quite intrigued by what this prelude would contain. To say I am blown away would be an understatement! I already loved the characters- but after reading this and seeing where they came from and some of what they have been through, makes me admire and love them even more!
The story is quite intense and emotional. There are scenes that made my heart ache- but the main thing I got from this book was a whole lot more respect and admiration for the team, because having been through what they had, it would have been easy for them to give up, or to take the easy road- but they didn’t, and that takes massive strength of character to rise above and fight for what you believe in. The sense of duty, honour, loyalty, camaraderie, and tight-knit team work was apparent right from their early years- and has only gotten stronger as they got older. I love how this book really sets the stage for the rest of the series and gives such an amazing insight into the characters beginnings.
This may be a small story (novella), but still manages to pack a punch. Ms. McKinley fits a lot into a small space, making the whole thing seem like a much bigger book- in a great way!
I am so looking forward to the next Gray Ghost book!

Thank you, Ms. McKinley!

Moments That Define Us (Gray Ghost #0.5)Moments That Define Us by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments that Define Us by Amy McKinley is a Gray Ghost prequel, and WOW after already reading the first two books I wish I had read this beforehand. It really set things in my mind about what I had already read with the full books. This is a short read, but I will state that this book REALLY packs a punch and so many emotions in this story. This really shows that life isn’t always a bowl of cherries. This is the story of Jack and Jenni.
Five homeless guys living in abandoned building have become family and decide to protect the community in which they call home. When Jack isn’t protecting his home and community he spends his time with Jenni, who happens to be the sister of a local drug dealer. Now Jenni is caught in the middle, between her love of Jack and her love of her brother.
This book is POWERFUL and action packed, I recommend it to those that have already read the first two books in this series or to anyone wanting to dive into an amazing series. Amy McKinley really set the stage for a great read and a great series. I cannot wait to read MORE!

Moments That Define Us (Gray Ghost #0.5)Moments That Define Us by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments That Define Us by Amy McKinley is a heart-breaking prelude to her Gray Ghost series. I wish I had read it before I read the first and second books in the series … She was right, it totally set the stage for the rest of the series and explains so much that I did not fully grasp when reading the ‘full’ books.
It is a short story but it is crazily intense – the writer has to pack a punch, she is setting this group of teenage boys on to the road to become paramilitary protecting the abused and the week and they start with it already when they are still young and suffering themselves … it would be so easy to closer their eyes and just think of themselves and their close band of future modern day Robin Hoods but there is something in their DNA or maybe it is simply that thanks to having each other they are tapping into the deep well of humanity that is in each and every one of us but they are different… their stories are not for the feint hearted and I have to admit, I cried and cried and when I closed the book, I wished for each of them to find their happiness when the writer gives them their own story …
The focal point of the beginning is the story of Jack and Jenni and please, be forewarned, it will break your heart as their story is real and unfortunately the real life is painful …
I am impatiently waiting for the stories of the rest of the guys!

This is the prequel to the Gray Ghost series. I actually read the first two books in the series before this novella. I am loving this series. This story tells about the Gray Ghost characters when they were kids and what lead them to the choices they are making as adults.

This story is hard to read in that the kids are homeless and the ones that do have a home are being abused. The story flows and you can almost tell that something bad is going to happen, but you just aren’t sure until it does happen. Little do they realize that the bad will lead to the one opportunity they need to be great.

I recommend this story before you start the Gray Ghost series or at any time during it. Looking forward to reading more about these characters.

Broken Circle (Gray Ghost #1)Broken Circle by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Broken Circle by Amy McKinley is the first book in her Gray Ghost series! It is also the first book I have read by this writer so I was very curious about her story telling ways when I picked it up! I have to say that I had nothing to be concerned about! I absolutely loved it! I loved it so much that I also picked up the ‘prelude’ to the series that I had somehow missed AND also the second book of the series! (Reviews to come!)
I loved Amy’s writing style – it was flowing and smooth like molasses AND it kept me at the edge of my seat until I came to the last page! There are twists and turns in this story and I tell you, every single character has their purpose and you cannot take anyone away! It is a story of betrayal and ‘illusion’ – you think that something is going on but you do not actually see what truly is going on under the surface …
I loved Olivia, I loved how she grew throughout the story and found her strength (and stubbornness)! And when her blinders come off … be prepared for fireworks!

Eye of the Storm is the second book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series! I dived straight into it after finishing the first book as I had fallen in love with Amy’s storytelling ways! Even though the stories can be read as standalone, do yourself a favour and read the first book as well as you will enjoy Eye of the Storm even more once you have done it.
Amy continues with her smooth storytelling and emotional rollercoaster, there are twists and turns that you do not see coming and just imagine, it is all happening in the wilderness of Colombian jungle! The writer is so meticulous with how she describes the jungle, how her characters come across and boy, the secrets … they are like a cherry on top of the cream! I loved how Amy gave us two strong and independent (and stubborn) characters (Mari and Chris) that make the story unforgettable! How can you give the story a cold shoulder when there is action, emotion and …. Secrets … but I already said that! So, pick up a copy and run away to the jungle with Marie and Chris and maybe, just maybe, you will return in one piece!

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I adored the first book in The Gray Ghost series, Broken Circle, so I had high hopes for this next novel, Eye of the Storm. Amy McKinley did not disappoint. I was hooked from the very first chapter to the last word of the last page. I sincerely wish that I could give this a few bonus stars but since I can’t the max of five will have to do. I don’t believe that it is necessary to read the first book, but why not?

In Eye of the Storm we have the story of Mari Dias. Mari is one heck of a strong woman. She has had to learn how to be for a long time. Her life was anything but easy. Growing up in the way that she did and the environment has taught her a lot. But her time in the Columbian Jungle will not be as easy as she thought it would be. In fact this will be the catalyst of big changes for Mari.

Chris Shaw also finds himself in the Columbian Jungle under duress. First major problem is that he is hanging, literally in a tree, wrapped in his shredded parachute. Secondly, he has no idea who he is. Not even so much as his name. He does eventually notice in his moments of awareness that there is a beautiful woman, Mari that is trying to help him the best that she can. Will Chris be able to trust that she is safe? Especially since he can sense that something about her isn’t as it seems. Will these two find a romance and a future together during their time in the jungle? Or will this be the end of everything for the both of them?
