My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Crowned Hearts series but can be read as a stand-alone. This book focuses on (Prince) Fyn and Bridget.

I enjoyed the secret identity element as the secret came out and Bridget’s reaction. It’s a fun read with spice and humour, whilst also being able to play with your emotions.

The characters are incredible, well-written and entertaining. The writing flows nicely and is easy to follow. The chemistry and emotion are built nicely and well-placed making for an enjoyable experience you won’t want to put down.

I enjoy these authors separately but together they are a phenomenal team, and I cannot wait to get started on the next book in the series!

Loved this book!! Twists and turns, romance and friendship, mental health and physical damage. What more could you ask for in a book? This is Jude’s story, and I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite one thus far. I love this series!! But if you were going to read one book, read this one.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Hawke family. The chemistry between Jude and Angelina was really good and felt it was more emotionally based. Even though this is a continuation of an ongoing series, it can be read as a standalone. I look forward to seeing more development in this family and reading other books by this author.

This is the second book in the Second Generation of Hawke series. I have loved every book in this series. These romances are more than a romance. They are stories of family, friendships, danger, past traumas and the effects they have on a person.
In this story we are with Jude and Angelina. Jude was taken into the Hawke family at the age of 10 but because if his past he constantly pushed everyone away to protect himself including the one person he really wants close Angelina.
Angelina is the oldest sister to Jude’s best friend Allie. She can sense something is troubling Jude but she has never been close enough to him to find out what.
When Allie starts to go MIA, missing work, lying about where she is and who she is with it and generally just not being herself it leads Jude and Angelina to work together to figure what is going on with her. Untied in the need to help someone they care about the more time they spend together the more they realise their attraction to each other.
Both Jude and Angelina have suffered in their lives, both have built high walls of protection around themselves but what happens when those walls start to come down.
This is a story about 2 people who have been emotionally damaged but who are trying to rebuild their lives. There is also the danger of the enemy that is still trying to wrestle control and bring down the Hawke Family that puts all of them in danger but the main focus for me was how Jude started to blossom and grow the more he allowed Angelina in.
I can’t wait to see what happens next. What is Allie playing at? Who is she with and why is it such a secret?

Reticent Hawke is the second book in The Hawke Family Second Generation Series and is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance/ Forbidden Romance older best friends sister . I have to say I’m a huge fan of not only this author but this series. Holy Cow this book shredded my heart and I was expecting to be taken on a emotional rollercoaster ride but wow. My heart ached for Jude and I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next. I’ve been waiting for Jude and Angelina’s story and I must say its my favorite yet. Each book in this already amazing series just gets better and better. I’ve read every single Hawke Family book and can’t wait for the next. I don’t want to give anything away. This is a must read book I promise you won’t be disappointed in. I do suggest having kleenex near by you will definitely need them. I’m patiently waiting for the next book.

Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #1)Ruthless Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jack and Isaac are an amazing relationship to read about! Passion, fear, suspense, action, drama, intrigue, steam – this book has it all! After a graduation weekend, Isaac met “Jack” and they spent the most memorable weekend of both of their lives together. As the weekend meets its end, they go their separate ways, but neither will be forgotten by the other.

For Jack, it is especially memorable because it gave her the true love of her life – her daughter Viviana. While she does resemble Isaac, Jack never told him she was pregnant – not that she would have known how to contact him, as he didn’t give his name or information. However, while she never forgets him, she is fully capable of raising ViVi on her own.

Five years after their unforgettable weekend, Isaac is working hard as the protector of the family empire and takes his job very seriously. When an old family friend begs protection for his daughter and grandaughter, Isaac is introduced to Giacomino – aka “Jack” and Vivi. Once he sees his eyes set in Vivi’s face, his entire view on life changes. This is no longer a job to help a family friend, this is a job to protect the woman he was never able to forget and he refuses to let get away again, and their daughter.

I love the world building, the emotions are intense and passionate, it was a wild ride and the second generation sounds like it will be as great a series as the first!

Wow, Jude has been through a lot in his short life. When some of his problems were discovered while he was a kid, his best friend Alessi’s family took him in. His experiences in his early life lead to a lot for him. Agoraphobia, a passion for Alessi’s sister that he holds close to his heart, and a fear for how people may look at him if they found out.

Despite his phobia, Jude will do anything he can to be supportive of Al or Angie to share his love and appreciation however he can. When Al starts telling lies, avoiding contact, showing up late to work and going MIA, he and Angie work together to get to the bottom of what’s going on – and with Jude and Angie being together regularly, their pull starts to do what they’ve both been trying to avoid for so long – make them crave one another more and more.

This isn’t a storyline you see often, with an older woman being the object of a younger mans desire, and it was a new POV for me that I enjoyed. There were a lot of things being dangled throughout the book that basically were inconclusive, or rushed to a conclusion. The rest of the book was good enough I’d read again even though I felt a few aspects had more potential than they were given and felt like an afterthought.

The Hawke family in both generations offer captivating stories, romance, danger, intensity, familial support, love, friendship, tradition and more. The opportunities that arise in each addition to the series stay interesting and easy to read, offering intrigue and desire to see what happens next.

As with every book I have ever read by this author, this one is absolutely fantastic. It took no effort at all for me to get into this book. I was pulled in right from the start and was hooked on the characters. This story was so emotional. It was complex and heart wrenching, with complicated characters. It is exciting to read and I became invested really quickly.
This is an author that I never fail to enjoy. Her books are ones that I buy without reading the description because I know how amazing it will be. I loved the fact that this is a spin off as the original series was so good. And after reading this book I know this series is definitely going to be just as good. I would highly recommend this book.

OMG these two have done it again!!! I absolutely love these two authors individually- but put them together and magic happens!!!
With the upcoming release of the second book in this series, I thought I would do a re-read of this one in anticipation of Book #2. I adored this book the first time around and love it just as much this time.
Royally Complicated is the first book in The Crowned Hearts series by the talented duo of Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson. It is a sublime forbidden romance with a secret identity, a bad boy prince, a holiday fling, electric chemistry, plenty of hot sizzling encounters, a little suspense, a splash of angst, emotion, and more.
This is Fyn and Bridget’s story- she’s on a holiday with her best friend, a holiday that should have been her honeymoon, that’s if she hadn’t found her fiancé cheated. A holiday fling is just what she needs to get her ex out of her system. He’s the sexy surfer that snares her attention. But there’s more to him than first meets the eye. What happens when secrets are revealed? You really should read all the entertaining details for yourself- you are bound to love their as much as I have.
At this rate, I am going to have to add another wing to my fantasy book boyfriend mansion as I keep having to add more ‘residents’ to it, especially considering every one of Ms. McNamee and Ms. Anderson’s heroes (both individually and collaboratively) have been moved into my BBF Mansion, all because they are so delicious that I can’t help but want to ‘keep’ Every. Single. One. Of. them.
Now I can’t wait to devour Russian and Royally Complicated (Book #2)- the countdown has started, a couple more sleeps and it will be here!!!!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson!

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. This was an intriguing story that kept me glued to the pages. At a young age Jude had been through some horrific things. The trauma Jude has lived through has made his anxiety and panic attacks debilitating at times. Angie has always had a special place in her heart for Jude ever since the day she met him while he was sitting in the closet with her sister Allie. Jude has always felt something for Angie as well since the day they meant. There is an age difference between these two but that’s not the only obstacle, Angie is a Hawke and Jude doesn’t feel like he is good enough for them or to be with Angie. This story is an emotional read and has a lot of great characters. This is a great series and this book is another great one added to it. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend this book.

Family isn’t just blood, Al. It’s our love for each other. It’s what we’re willing to do for each other that makes us family….” Angelina

Oh this Hawke family, has my heart, even this second generation of Hawkes! I am not sure which Hawke member this title refers to more, Angelina, Jude, or Allie.

So many secrets. The additional trauma each character has gone through adds to their angst. The fear of not being accepted has all three unable to express themselves. Luckily this author doesn’t make the characters or the readers suffer for very long!

Even with the unanswered concerns relating to the family, this was a great story! Can not wait to see what this author brings in the next story!

This book is book 2 in the series, but can definitely be read as a standalone, though I don’t think you will want to. Jude had a rough childhood until he was found and adopted by the Hawke family. He slowly, but surely, learns how to be a part of a family, but still keeps the family at arm’s length. Angelina is 12 years older than Jude, and the older sister of his best friend, Allie, another Hawke family member who upon meeting him for the first time, helps him through the panic and the rough adjustment of being in their family. Then, suddenly Jude locks himself in his second story loft, and quits showing up or even going outside at all. Nobody is sure what caused the change, until he explains that one of the people whom made his young life so hard had suddenly reappeared in a place where he didn’t expect him to be and it caused him to retreat to what he felt was safety. When Angelina and Jude are forced to spend time together one-on-one due to Allie becoming unpredictable, they finally let down their guard and allow their feelings to flow, without fear of protecting themselves, the sparks fly.

This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. I can’t wait to see what happens in the second book. This is a well written story about a steamy stranger and sex on the beach. A story where there is forbidden love and opposite attraction. I enjoyed these characters. They are strong, connectable and had me coming back for more. There is great growth as well as chemistry throughout the story as well. A fast paced story that you need to find out what happens next. This is a fast paced, engaging story that is easy and entertaining as well. This is a great book which has a little bit of everything in it. Don’t miss out on this one. I highly recommend this book.

This made me think of an adult version of Cinderella. Bridget meets Fyn on his private beach. The fun and adventure starts there. She doesn’t realize he’s a Prince. I fell in love with this story because they both had to overcome so many challenges. The King and Queen were stuck on tradition and, quite frankly, were snobs. Not my favorite, but definitely antagonistic characters. I loved the storyline and how it flowed. This author does such a fabulous job with her stories that you just feel like you are there watching it. I can’t wait to read book 2.

Royally Complicated is a stand-alone forbidden romance tale with a bad boy. Who doesn’t love a bad boy story. The book is a really good read however a little cliché. But Gwyn and Christy do throw in a little turmoil and a few tough emotions that gives the story just that bit more making it a must read.
It is fun and sexy and sweet and spicy, and the writing draws you in. The chemistry between Bridget and Fyn is off the charts. When she meets Fyn, the sparks fly. One night is all they thought they would have.
It is full of complications, cheating, betrayal, royal duty, some unscrupulous family, prince charming, a kingdom in turmoil, misunderstandings and foes that you may or may not see coming.
Royally Complicated is just that and is an emotional read, filled with chaos and drama, action and heart pounding moments and some much-needed humour and love. This steamy read will leave you with all the feels.
There are a few of the characters that you will love to hate and hate to love and royal or not you will want to smack them.
Overall, the book was a really good read and this writing duo make a good team. I look forward to reading second book in the series.

Sex on the beach with a smoking hot stranger…

I blame the tequila.

And the way he rode the waves like he owned them.

And the delicious way the water trickled down over his washboard abs and the V thingy.

And the fact that I’m on the trip that was supposed to be my honeymoon until I caught the bastard cheating.

Yeah, I’m going to blame it on all that.

Because reckless behavior is so not usually me.

But surfer god Fyn is a breath of fresh air I so badly need.

A break from reality of the world around me.

One he seems to need, too.

It’s a single wild moment in my otherwise structured life that seems to be crumbling.

A perfect snapshot in time…

Until the royal guard shows up looking for him.

Turns out the king of the waves is actually a prince.

A real one next in line for the throne.

And I just banged him on the sand.

People say a one-night stand can be good for you, especially after a break-up.

I’m starting to question that advice.

Because finding my prince is only the beginning…

Things are about to get royally complicated.

Royally Complicated is a royal romance from USA Today Bestselling Authors Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson with a bad boy prince and good girl commoner, forbidden love, opposites attract, intrigue, deception, and tons of steam that will leave you wanting your own prince.

Gwyn McNamee is an attorney, writer, wife, and mother (to one human baby and one fur baby). Originally from the Midwest, Gwyn relocated to her husband’s home town of Las Vegas in 2015 and is enjoying her respite from the cold and snow.  Gwyn loves to write stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat. Christy Anderson

Writing with a whole lot of sarcasm and humor, mixed with a bit of Southern charm, Christy Anderson ain’t no sweet tea kinda storyteller. As an author of romance, Christy believes it doesn’t always have to be hearts and flowers; sometimes, it is dark and twisted, but romance nonetheless. She mixes terror, revenge, and a sliver of love and hope into stories about family, friends, struggles, blurred lines, and happily-ever-afters. Christy lives in the beautiful mountains of Eastern Tennessee with her husband and 152 cats (not really, but close), where she enjoys writing one twist at a time.

Now he’s considered a Hawke but that’s the trouble, Jude loves Angelina, a true Hawk family member. The fact that Jude lived on the streets has him keeping things to himself. But what he might really need is to face those things head on. Will anyone be there for him? The twists and turns that come up during the story kept me reading well into the night. As with the other Hawke series, this book was well written with great characters and world building.

Reticent Hawke: A Billionaire Reverse Age Gap Best Friend’s Older Sister Forbidden Romance (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 2)

I am 100% obsessed with the Hawke family and getting to know the second generation after reading their parents stories and in some cases their birth makes me feel a little more connected to them.

This one made me feel all of the emotions. I laughed and cried. Was happy and then absolutely heartbroken sometimes all on the same chapter though it felt like same page.

Angelina’s cafe is a success life is pretty good until Alessandra started acting weird and Angie had to go to Allie’s best friend, everything changed then for all of them.

I fell in love with this family from the moment I met them seven years ago and I hope I’m still reading about them in another seven years. I can’t seem to be able to get enough of the Hawke family.

Absolutely must read this book and series. There is so many connections to the previous books that you should start at the beginning and work you way through.

This is the second book in the next generation of the Hawke Family Saga. I can not get enough of these books. The way this story is written gives you so much to digest. It has amazing characters and you get to see some characters from other stories. The character development is so well done that you feel yourself going through the emotions of all the characters. While reading this you feel like you are right there along with then and going through everything that they are going through. Adding in the forbidden thoughts of your best friends sister, gives the reader just enough intrigue to see how things end up. There are some controversial topics and traumas that the characters work through. This gives the readers opportunity to get gripped into the story. This book is another page turner that you won’t be able to put down. You will want to know what is happening, who did what, etc. This book can be read as a stand alone but you won’t want to. You will want to know the other characters and their stories. You will want to know all the dirty deets with everyone else. You won’t be disappointed but starting this book and getting to know everyone and you won’t be disappointed to read the whole series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It is hard to qualify what this book really is. It is a part of the Hawke Saga. It is a story of love, family and friendship. It is also about breaking down walls within ourselves to allow the true us to be. It is about realizing that blood doesn’t make you family, feelings make you family.

Jude has more secrets than he can count. Some he shared with his best friend since they were 10, Alessi or Al. Some he has never told anyone, and he has no plans to. One secret that is bubbling to the top is his love, his obsession with the only woman he has ever had those kinds of feelings for, Angie. On the top of the list of problems of a chance at a relationship with Angie is that she is Alessi’s sister. Sure, there is a 12 year age age but that shouldn’t be an issue. The issue is that she is family.

Angelina or Angie has experienced a lot of loss in her life, starting with her father when she was 5. So to avoid that kind of feeling as an adult, Angie has blocked herself off from relationships. She has her sister, her cousins, the rest of her family and Jude. Although she avoids being around Jude because of the pull she feels towards him, Angie knows that he is always there.

Right now, Angie and Jude must come together to determine what is going on with Alessi. Alessi has been MIA several days, lying, avoiding conversations, coming in late to work and overall not being herself. As Angie and Jude band together to figure out what is going on with Alessi, the pull that they feel towards each other gets harder to resist. Is being together worth the risk of recrimination from the family and possibly losing the relationship with Alessi? Can Angie and Jude figure out what is going on with Alessi and help her?

I want a chair with my name on it at Nana’s table. This family is awesome, full of love and support. They might disagree or even argue but they are always there for each other when the coffee spills or secrets need to be buried. Beautiful. Wonderful. Steamy! I didn’t want it to end.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great 5 star read. I have really enjoyed this series and family from the first generation. I was pulled in right from the beginning with the author’s writing. I was done before I knew it. I really enjoyed the characters and their story, Jude got my heart pretty much from the start. My emotions were all over the place, I will warn that there could be some triggers for some as well. This genre is one of my favorites and it definitely does not disappoint. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. If you enjoy age gap romance with a dark side, 1-click and get started today. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another enjoyable and engaging novel in this addictive series, I love being back with the Hawke family, and as usual I was hooked from page one. The storyline focuses on Jude and Angelina, who he can’t stop thinking about and who he’s in love with, however she’s off limits as she’s his best friends older sister, and a Hawke. This story took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst Jude dealt with issues from his past, as well as being conflicted by his feelings for Angelina. Trusting anyone was difficult for Jude after years of living on the streets, and it was the Hawke’s who took him in and made him family. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the billionaires world that the Hawke’s live in. I loved both Jude and Angelina and their chemistry sizzled off the page, however I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story and enjoyed the reverse age gap, older women theme. An entertaining read, and I can’t wait to be back with the Hawke’s in the next book, hopefully soon!
