This book was absolutely amazing. I loved every line I read. Well until the end but you’ll need to read it to find out for yourself. Hawke and Jack are two of the best characters I have had a pleasure of being introduced to. He just graduated law school and has a major responsibility lying on his shoulders and she is obligated to do as her family says.

They spend the night together but it’s not enough. It wouldn’t be enough for me either really. The two of them have a sense of chemistry and understanding of one another and their need to not face the reality of the next day. Everything has to come to an end though. How will this play out?

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a hot and steamy roller coaster ride from start to finish. It starts how any typical one night stand goes with two strangers meeting across a crowded bar. Both looking to lose themselves and their responsibilities in one night of passion. However, when the morning comes Hawke realizes one night is not enough. He still has another day before accepting the crushing weight of future responsibilities and lucky for him the redhead who called herself Jack decides to see where another night might take them. Two nights is still not enough for Hawke and he realizes he must know her real name to contact her to see where this could lead. After all she is the first woman he has been able to see a future with but what if she’s not on the same page. Can Hawke find his mystery woman that fled his bed with no number or calling card? Or is he doomed to pine over the one woman that could have been his everything?

There are so many emotions tied into these characters as they try to escape the paths already destined for each of them. One seemingly has more control whereas the other is at the mercy of her family. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series to find what happened next. As soon as this one was finished, on a cliffhanger of course, I went and looked for the next book only to find it won’t be released until later this month. Now I wait with bated breath to find out if Hawke will ever find his mystery woman or if the past is best left in the past!

Isaac is just finishing up Law School destine to work in the family business with his dad back in New Orleans but when he goes to a bar with his brother to celebrate before leaving he sees her.

When he runs into the most beautiful girl and they decide to have the greatest night together, but Isaac can’t just have one night so he convinces her to spend the weekend but in the morning she vanishes without a word. Isaac has found his soul mate but can he find her again.

I loved the Hawke Family and getting to read about the next generation is brilliant and can’t wait for the full series. This is a great insight into the next generation and will be just as good as the first, I can’t wait to read the full story of Isaac and the rest of the second generation.

Extremely hot
This novella had me fanning. This is the prequel to The Hawke Family Second Generation series and it was such a tease. I thoroughly enjoyed the first series, The Hawke Family, and I just know that this series will have me just as engaged. The writing is brilliant, the characters relatable and the storyline captivating (and steamy). I can’t wait to delve into this series. Highly recommend.

This book was such a quick and enticing read! I’ve just recently read the Hawke Family series and knew I had to give this one a go as well! This story centers on a chance meeting of two young individuals with strong family dynamics that control their lives. They each arrive at a bar with other friends before spotting one another. A moment to leave the real you at the door and truly enjoy the pleasures of life with a stranger. So intense that it makes you feel what they are experiencing. McNamee has a way with her words that make you feel what the characters are going through. Definitely worth it!

Vanessa Estrada rated a book it was amazing

This is the first book in this world/series that I’ve read, and I love it. Will definitely continue this series and am considering reading the original series as well. This is a very short story, a very quick fun read. The writing was good, the characters were witty and interesting. I got a little annoyed with the back and forth but I was rooting for them the whole time.

The Night Hawke by Gwen McNamee is the second generation Hawke Family Prequel. Though it’s a prequel, reading the first series isn’t truly necessary. This is a very short, very spicy story that starts off with Isaac celebrating. There’s not really any background as Isaac and his redheaded weekend companion do other things besides talking. So many other things! The pair agree to one night but it turns into the weekend. She was perfect, everything he wants. By the time he realizes he needs and wants more time with her she’s gone. The chemistry was palpable and I was shocked at how this hooked me in. I cannot wait to read this series. If it’s anything like the first generation, it’s going to be amazing.

The Hawke Family Complete CollectionThe Hawke Family Complete Collection by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m a sucker for a series with individual stories about each family member, so the idea of having more than one at my fingertips was more than enough motivation for me. Of course the added bonus is that this series is great. World and character building is well done, stories are fleshed out and don’t leave you hanging without having a clue, good heat and nice chemistry between characters. I always think I can’t possibly like any books in a series like this more than the one I had just read, and then I can never choose a favorite.

SAVAGE COLLISION is about Savage Hawke and meeting his match in Investigative Reporter Danika Eriksson when she busts in looking for answers from the sleazeball employing her little sister in a strip club. While Savage DOES own a gentlemans club and closely guards his secrets (and himself), he is hardly the sleaze Dani anticipated him to be. He is intrigued by her guts and her fearlessness and is wildly attracted to her.

Dani wants to hate Savage. She wants to dig in and uncover his secrets and help her sister get free from a career she looks down on – but she can’t get beyond how incredibly attractive and charismatic he is. She WANTS to hate him, but will she succeed?

TORTURED SKYE focuses on Skye and Gabe. You meet them in book 1. Gabe is Savage’s right hand man and best friend. Skye is his sister and has harbored a crush on Gabe for a long time. When they’re celebrating at a wedding reception Skye gets caught up in the romance and kisses him. Gabe is totally thrown off, totally interested and knows Skye is totally off limits. They both have many struggles they are working through and finding it difficult to add the feelings they realize they hold for one another to the mix. As you can imagine, a relationship budding between them causes lots of stormy relationship dealings. Will they heal and take a chance on one another, or stay too damaged and afraid?

STONE SOBER is deeper, darker, and more…thrilling? than the first 2. It tells a darker story and leans into a different type of heat.

Stone is the youngest Hawke sibling and has returned home. He’s not so sure it’s the right thing, though. He has a secret that just eats at him, and he has gone through all sorts of vices to push it away from his mind. He didn’t know he’d find his favorite vice in one of the families clubs. First he watches from afar, but will it end up being enough?

Nora is Dani’s younger sister. She is brilliant. She is gorgeous. She had a wonderful career that she left behind. No one knows her secret as to why she chose to strip instead of following the path she had worked so hard to set up, but she is exactly where she wants to be and finally feels free. When she finds out the dark stranger in the corner is Stone Hawke, she can’t help but feel compelled to learn more.

Where will these strangers with their dark secrets end up? Will they even be able to stay away from one another, or will their new obsessions overwhelm their needs to stay private and hidden?

BUILDING STORM is another more deep and dark addition to the series, and is chock full of heart stopping emotions. So much crying while reading this one! Storm is grieving. Will she ever get over her broken heart? Will she trust anyone to be her safe haven again? Will she be able to build herself back up? She knows everyone is trying to bring her back and make her ok again, but is she too far gone? A stranger turns out to be the stepping stones she needs to find her way back.

Landon is on the run. He is full of regrets, guilt, despair…until he sees Storm. Her emotionless beauty speaks to him, and upon speaking they decide to just enjoy the moment and have a dance. To both of their surprise, those moments are the happiest they’ve both had in a long time. So many emotions and so much growing through them in this one. Have tissues ready!

TAINTED SAINT is a shorter read, but no less engaging, entertaining or well written. Saint is a bouncer at one of the clubs, so you know his build is just right for his position. He’s pleased with his job, it keeps him busy with all of their businesses – and he’s good at protecting the family and keeping people in line. Until the fire at the club. Now he’s unsure of where he stands – so he just keeps working and staying busy. He’s admired a family friend from afar for ages and just so happens to bump into her at a masquerade ball where she thinks her mask keeps her identity a secret – but Saint knows who she is. He just wants to take advantage of a perfect opportunity so he plays along. Caroline feeling anonymous makes her much more willing to step out of her comfort zone, and since her identity is “secret” – she is feeling VERY feisty.

While this story is shorter than the rest, it is engaging and HOT.

STEELE RESOLVE is the final book in the series and is a M/M romance. Byron runs one of the family clubs. Luca Abello (STEELE) has been gone since he was a young boy, but has come back to town to take over for his father…which makes him the enemy. However, when Byron and Luca are introduced to one another, they each realize the other is the hot one night stand they had a couple of weeks ago, and have been unable to stop thinking of. With one being a mob leader and the other being a member of the Hawke family, there’s a lot of danger and tension at all times – and now passion of another kind. Will the enemies to lovers aspect let their attraction survive? Will the Hawke’s accept Luca as a partner to Byron? Will they be able to survive? This was such a great ending to the series, I can’t wait for the second generation to be released!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well written, keeps you invested, has nice world building, some good sweaty scenes AND a killer cliffhanger. This was my first read by this author but I’m definitely in love. This was a hot and quick read to introduce you to the 2nd generation of the Hawke family. I hadn’t read the first ones before reading this, but it was no problem. It only served to make me even more interested in digging deeper into this family.

While out celebrating with his brother in a city bar, Isaac eyes a smoking hot redhead at the bar who appears just as interested in the rest of his night as he is in hers. As the night goes on, they agree to no names, no details and no strings for the night…which morphs into 2. And the two strangers walk away. But do they forget?

You got just enough information to get a vague idea of their lives. You get invested in their stellar chemistry. Great heat. Great characters. Great beginning to a new series!

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a short prequel to the series about the second generation of the Hawke family. In it we meet two strong personalities. The attraction that the two have is off the charts but each one is hiding their own secrets. They agree to only one night together no real names and no information so there is not a lot of character development. The two burn up the sheets and emotions begin to become a problem, especially for “Jack”. She cannot let her heart lead her astray even for this one man who could be the world for her. As hot as this story is I am sorry to say that these characters did not pull me in. I need a little more depth to the characters to want to see what happens to them next. This story is mostly about their sexual connection and the need to keep everything secret but I think that if you are a big fan of the Hawke family series this might have you eager to see what happens to these characters from the second generation.

The prequel for the Hawke series packs a PUNCH. Jack has the air of mystery surrounding her and Isaac is not some nerdy graduate ready to enter the big boys club. This book had me blushing, heart racing and devouring it whole. I honestly think this ranks as one of my favourites of the Hawkes and I will definitely be reading this again. Such a wild ride and one I happily would have stayed on as it went round and round! Gwyn is a queen and I thank the stars i found her books often!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Gwyn McNamee. I was first interested in the title and then the mystery of the synopsis pulled me in good. The book is a dual perspective between two strangers that have a chance meeting in a local Chicago bar one night. Both looking for an escape of what the next day could bring but so entranced in the moment they accept whatever consequences may come.
His entire life has been planned for him for as long as he can remember. She is a mystery; her actions are that of a strong independent force to be reckoned with. Only her words leave him coming up short and struggling to keep to the deal of no real talk just a fun night with a stranger. Her entire life has been controlled by her parents, worry plagues her mind and what they will do just to find her if she doesn’t come home one night. What’s the worst that can happen when two strangers have a chance meeting?
This is an amazing and steamy introduction into the second generation of the Hawke Family series. I have never read any of the books from the original series but had no trouble understanding the book or references. With the first official book to the 2nd Gen series, Ruthless Hawke, coming out February 23rd, I plan to read the original series soon. The world and characters the author creates makes you feel like you know them.

When two people who are trying to forget about life for a night meet in a bar, sparks fly. They both have secrets but mums the word. One night of per unadulterated unforgettable sex. No names and no personal information. They are to walk away with no questions asked the next day.
They both have regrets that one night will never be enough and end up spending two.

This prequel leaves you wondering what secrets they both have and how those secrets will come to bite them in the bud.

Jaw drop!
Before I get into details about this book. I would first like to mention this is not a young person book. It is for mature adults.
Back to the book.
Love this book. Its dirty in the perfect ways. First chapter gives you the main character(a man) point of view. I mean first chapter alone gives you everything you need. Once you start, can’t stop. It makes your heart race and it is exciting to read. Then once it goes into the woman’s side (main character) it gets even better because now you have both of their points of view.

This is a prequel to the Hawke Family books. Warning- it is a very steamy book…wow! We meet Issac, who has just graduated from law school and will join the family business in New Orleans and the beautiful red head named “Jack.” They meet up at a bar and go spend two nights in the throws of steamy escapades… they are both sad to leave each other in the end. If you like books with lots of sex and action, this book is for you. While this type of genre is not my go to read, I kind of want to read on in the series to see how their relationship grows.

They didn’t plan to have anything beyond their couple of days together but things quickly changed. Issac can’t get her out of his mind. Will he be able to convince her to give their connection a try? Will it delay his obligations to his family? I loved this prequel, enjoyed seeing how these two get started and look forward to reading more from them. Wow!! Where does one start? You should know that this ends on a big ol’honkin’ cliffhanger! But it is so worth it. The chemistry between “Nolan” and Jack is straight up dripping off every page. They bring the heat and the steam. I can only imagine what it will be like when these two meet in some future boardroom or courtroom and the action between them is just as hot as the “action” between them. Can everyone see my eyebrows going up and down when I say that? Since this is just the beginning, I know that this series is going to be a helluva ride! Can’t wait!! What a great start to the Hawke Family Second Generation. Isaac Hawke has finished college, so before he leaves. He takes the weekend to have a little fun. Jack is out for a night of uncontrolled fun as well. Her night goes deeper than one night, it goes for the whole weekend. She has to return home before the family hunts her down. Two people, two fake names, two opposite ideas come together as a weekend of absolute hotness. This is a second generation series. You can start this one without reading the first generation. To be honest, start with the first series. But… Read this prequel to see where you end up. I for one had already finished the first series. Second generation picks up where Night Hawke left off. This Author has written her books with readers in mind. Her books grab you at the very beginning and keep you there. The hotness of the characters is extremely steamy. Everyday college students are about to make it into the adult world. So I will give you no Spoilers…. This is a must read short story into a series of The Hawke family.

This is the collection that is worth every page. When you begin each book, it’s impossible to put it down. Every story has its place within the series and adds a much needed element tying everything together. If you want drama, action, romance, suspense, and unpredictability it’s all there. There is someone for everyone and once your engrossed you will question how you waited so long.

This second collection of the series blew me away! I was more invested , involved, and edge every time I picked up my book.
Stone Sober was my absolute favorite. Sexy, intense, and erotic. Stone and Nora take you to unbelievable places.

Building Storm was emotional and heartfelt. I felt everything all in one with this emotional ride. As with her first collection it all tied in perfect.

Collection 3 I wanted to go on forever. I enjoyed every moment of my journey to the ending but did not want it to end. I felt each characters happiness, frustration, determination, adrenaline, and more. These characters became like family and the author deserves and applause for the amazing story she wove.

Night Hawke is a prequel to the Hawke Family Second Generation series. I have not read any of the others and it didn’t seem to matter. The author did a really good job of giving you just enough information to draw you in and keep you wanting more. The book was a little steamy for my liking. While I want to say that I won’t read anymore, that’s probably a lie. I’m pretty drawn in and want to know who these characters really are. So I will likely skim over those particular scenes, so I can continue the story. Both characters use fake names and very little detail is given about their lives. It is hinted at them both coming from pretty important families, and I want to know more about “Jack.” In reading the description of the next book, it makes me want to know that much more!

This entire collection is a really great series to read! You start with learning a bit about the main characters in this family, the lust that drives them, and SO many crazy secrets! If there is one thing each member of each story is known for it is the secrets they fail to keep! The author does her job of making the reader invest in the lives of each character in the series, but within each book drawing a focus on the leads. It makes for interesting reading time, and the ending of the collection will have you shocked and ready for more!
