Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance, by Alexa Summers, is the first book in the Big Apple Series. This sports romance was instantly fun to read. I thought the feisty personality and go-getter attitude from Lexi was right on point and enjoyed the back and forth banter that occurred between her and Brett. Lexi may like the male physique more that a normal woman may admit, but she takes charge and knows her stuff despite her filter not working properly at all times. This story made me laugh, and I enjoyed the growth in the characters as the story progresses. There is definitely some animosity between some co-workers, but it adds to the charm of the story, giving some additional dynamic and drama. The way the author finishes the story was perfect and an ending that was in tune with the characters.

Lee Kilraine’s Give and Take is the second installment of the Thorne Brothers series. Each of the books within this series features one of the Thorne brothers; Give and Take is Wyatt’s story. I liked Wyatt’s character from the beginning. He may be a little OCD, but he definitely gives everything his all and then some. When it comes to his family, nothing comes before that. Let’s add Rhia to the story and this book enters a whole new playing field. The attraction is evident, the personalities conflict and it’s about to get truly hot and steamy just around the corner. I loved the secondary characters, they added a lot of laughs and what the heck moments in the story making it fun to read. Lee Kilraine is a gifted author that can create a work of art that is hilarious, but serious at the same time.

The Boss Man, by Teddy Hester is the fourth book in the Manly Series. This romantic suspense novel was a pleasure to read. The premise of the book was fun and the way the author laid out the story and introduced the characters felt well thought out. Jack DePaul is a man that knows what his goals are and what he is willing to do to meet those vs distractions he attempts to avoid. Jillian Vickers is a strong feminine character with a similar personality. I liked how the author paired these two characters and the immediate sparks that have the potential to be explosive. The suspense added in was a perfect touch and gave the story that bit more to make it a compelling read and entertaining through the end.

The first book in the Sound series, The Sound of Love, by Maria Watts is more than just a teenage romance. It is loaded with a roller coaster of events that make life anything but simple. Maria Watts exhibits powerful writing talent within the few several chapters. She has created characters that are in the midst of emerging and working to find themselves. The story starts innocently and from there the story begins to build upon itself making thing more in depth and not necessarily straight forward
I wasn’t ready for this story to end, wanting more and to know what was coming on the horison. Maria Watts has created a series/book worthy of reading not only for the journey, but the emotional tie that will come with it

Neverland, by Melissa Jane, is a dark psychological suspense/thriller novel. This author never fails to deliver a memorable or climatic novel. In Neverland, beware of what lies ahead as this story will cut wide open and leave you wide open, you won’t expect it! This book was beyond what I anticipated when I read the synopsis. I found the characters well written, full of depth and insanely off the charts in regards to the psychological edge that is there. This author has talent in weaving an dark and crazy cast of characters along with unexpected results. This story was addictive and I could not put it down! A must read!

Marks of the Mazza, by Blake Blessing, is the first book in the Mazza series. This is a reverse harem story intermixed with a paranormal theme. The author captured my attention with this unique story telling. One woman, four men, danger, suspense/mystery, longing, distress overlap throughout this story. There is not one slow minute in Marks of the Mazza. Blake Blessing did an outstanding job of delivering within the first chapters, igniting character interest and the start of story as the character(s) will embark on more than they anticipated. I am not usually one for harem themed stories, but Blake Blessing did this in a way that it just a small piece of the story and not the main focal point. I felt this was a tastefully done story and am anxiously awaiting the next book of this series.

Michelle Sullivan’s Our Unexpected Hope is a contemporary romance that centers on Quinn and Noah, their lives, including the highs and lows. This book read well and it was seamless in its transition from chapter to chapter, introduction of new characters and how they interested to other characters. I immediately liked Quinn’s character. Her thoughts, feelings and choices felt realistic, to include how she reacted to events that occur within her life. The dynamic between Quinn and her family was amazing, well done and brilliant. Moving on to Noah, his character was magnetic, something drawing you straight to him, so you can imagine the appeal that he puts off without trying. This story was an emotional read and Michelle Sullivan showcases her talent in the way she had the characters’ handle the events, choices and aftermath from the decisions made. This is a story I took pleasure in reading, one that touched me emotionally, and that I highly recommend.

Transformations, by Cari Schaeffer, is the first volume in the Shifter series. This is a paranormal/fantasy that is engrossing and easily addictive within the elements combined within it’s pages. Growth is a steady part of this novel both in character development and as the story gains steam and builds upon itself. The author does a commendable job in her creativity, depth, originality and talent that is evident with the suspense, drama, intrigue that flows from the pages. Being the first book in the series, Cari Schaeffer set the bar on how the series will flow and it’s one that will have the reader impatiently waiting to read the next book as it pulls you within the dynamic of the story being shared.

Rebecca has set values in her life that set her apart from others, ones she holds true to despite how others look at her or how they think about her decisions. With her life in a tailspin she finds something she didn’t plan on nor anticipate but could it be what she truly needs? Add in one handsome and caring southern male and this story has all the makings for a possible fairy tale. This was an extremely sweet and inspirational romance that was touching, warm, and true to the main characters beliefs.

Necie Navone’s The Only One is the first in The Brothers of Camelot series. This is a contemporary romantic suspense that focuses on Fitz/Drake and Isabella. Along with them there is a colorful cast of supporting characters with strong and crazy and unique personalities that set them each apart that are within the Brother of Camelot family. I found this story full of laughter within scenes while others drew more seriousness. The author did a great job of capturing those emotional responses in just the right ways. Being the first book within the series it did a great job combining a lot of base information on characters while portraying the main story at the same time. After reading The Only One, I cannot wait to see what is coming ahead in future book(s) in The Brothers of Camelot series.

The author immediately jumps in with this story, creating an appealing story with dynamically different characters. As I continued through the story, I enjoyed the thoroughness the author had in parts of the book, setting it apart from similar books in this genre. This novel is full of suspense and drama, along with the dark moments that are within it. I have read other novels by this author and India Kells is very talented with her character creation, story development and enough intrigue.

The first book in The Order of the Senary series, Releasing the Demons, by L.D. Rose is a paranormal romance that starts the story right in the midst and instantly has you addicted into the story. This story is full throttled, high speed that I couldn’t leave the story or else I felt I would miss something – it was that brilliant!! From the characters to the story line, L.D. Rose is right on their game and delivers beyond expectation. From start to finish, the author keeps the reader fully involved in the story. I loved Blaze’s character, definitely one of my favorites within this genre. Not only are there amazing main characters, but the L.D. Rose also has outstanding secondary characters waiting on the sidelines to shine on their own. This is going to be an amazing series.

Via Mari’s first book in the Prestian series is Degrees of Innocence. Being the first novel read by the author, I always look for something solid that sets up that story to be great, whether it’s the characters, the story line or the detail that is written in. In Degrees of Innocence, Via Mari captures all of that and more. This book is tastefully written to include the intriguing suspense that tugs and pulls throughout. The erotic undertones are ever present, but tame where needed and emotionally burning right where it should. The author has exceeded in sharing a story/series that is cleanly written with amazing characters, a challenging story line.

That Voodoo That You Do, by Jolie St. Amant, is the first of the Chateau Rouge book set. This features stories of three different women and how their lives are changed once they come to Chateau Rouge. This is an author and series that I highly recommend. I have read two stories that are a part That Voodoo That You Do which feature Hannah and Chloe.

Hard Hearted Hannah, by Jolie St. Amant, is the second story in the Chateau Rouge series. This is a paranormal romance novella. This story instantly caught my interest and is the first story I have read by this author. The plot within this short story was unique, yet tied into the theme expertly well. The two main characters, Hannah and Julien, were well paired and their navigation through the story was fun, creative and suspenseful. Add in the cast of supporting characters, there is much mystery lingering in this series and its amazingly done. I have not read the first book of the series and didn’t feel it took away from this story. Jolie St. Amant is certainly a talented author and it is clearly shown in this short story.

Jolie St. Amant’s A Kiss to Build a Dream On is the third book in the That Voodoo That You Do series. This may be a novella with limited pages, but don’t let that deter you. Each of the stories within this series overlap each other in one way or another and the way it is done is seamless and perfectly done. I have previously read the two other books prior to A Kiss to Build a Dream On and enjoyed those. A Kiss to Build a Dream on was fun, light with a hint of paranormal energy with is a solid theme within this series. I really liked Chloe’s character is this book and how she came into her own. This author is quickly growing on me with each new book I read within this series.

Casstiel; Born of Lightning: Dragon Shifter (Dragonkind ~ 52 Realms) is a paranormal romance by Sheri-Lynn Marean. Upon starting this novel, I quickly found it wasn’t just a simple paranormal romance, but much more. Interwoven in this story is suspense and drama, as well as, some of those paranormal aspects we see as a signature item in soul mate romances. This story can be read as a standalone, but I felt that there were some items I would have understood and followed more easily if I had read the novel prior to this one within the series. The story is highly creative pushing imagination to the edges of reality and tipping slightly over. The chemistry and character interactions were well written driving a captivating storyline for the main characters.

This science fiction themed novel is that dares to shift what we know to a complete different realm than what we believe to be ahead of us. It pushes to apocalyptic events that create a hallowing view of how lives must be fought for and the difficult paths being embarked. The main character, Sandal, is one that must make unimaginable decisions to survive and how to proceed as new people come in/out of her life as she is on her journey to survive. This novel captures your mind as you’re reading and pulls you into the story. It was very well written and addictive to finish.

Each book within this series can be read as a standalone, but by reading them sequentially in order, the reader will learn more about the characters as they overlap into subsequent books with each book featuring a different set of main characters. In Beneath a Blue Moon, the author adds more to the paranormal aspects of this story giving it additional depth and appeal. Chase is one brooding werewolf that is more than just a member of the pack. It’s that allure that Rain is unable to deny despite how much she tries. Other forces are at work within this story that makes things less than easy between Chase and Rain – an adventure with suspense and danger lurking plus some serious chemistry!

Mimi Barbour’s Special Agent Charli is the sixth book in the Undercover FBI series. This is the first book that I have read within this suspense series and it was a page-turner. The story immediately dives in and captures your full focus. The author does a firm job of detailing the characters from their personalities, traits and distinct characteristics. Charli is a take charge woman on the verge of something and her world does a 180 degree turn taking her out of her comfort zone and placing her on a path she’s unsure she can handle or control. Adding Blake into the dynamic, all bets are off as personalities clash, emotions flair and chemistry leaks loose. This story fully engulfed me as I read through the chapters – one of those novels that just won’t let go until you finish.

Yet, how can you deny something that feels right and keeps coming back? A Summer Fling was a well written story with likable characters that were real and flawed in their own individual ways; adding in a bit of drama with a dash of spice over the summer and who knows what is about to come out! Tarrah Anders keeps the reader on their toes and the story is anything but boring. I found the characters creative, fun and a joy to read as their stories unfolded.

Just Exes by Charity Ferrell is a contemporary new adult/college romance. This story was rife with hilarious banter, hi-jinks and more – the laughter was hard to control. The author wrote a terrific story that had highly entertaining characters with a mix of drama, adventure and some growth all tied together. Despite the fun of this story, there are serious moments involved and Charity Ferrell did an excellent job of combining those making them flow without effort making a truly rounded story. Truly loved this story and quickly read the story as it was so easily devoured.

Laura A. Barnes’ Rescued by the Scot is the third novel in the Romancing the Spies series. This historical romance was a reading pleasure to include the historical depictions, character development and the level of detail that went into this story that made it feel complete & full. I have read the previous two books within this series and the each hold their own, as well as, complimenting each other as part of the series. Zane and Skye were wonderfully paired in Rescued by the Scot – taking in their fiery connection and all the adventure that follows. Any fan of historical novels or those within a series should grab this book, an excellent read.

Phoenix Rising, the seventh book in the Fortis Security series by Maddie Wade, is a military themed romance that follows characters that have been introduced throughout this series with each feature a specific set of individuals with overlapping secondary characters that support the characters. The overall theme that carries through this series is very well written, but each story could be read separately noting how well the author has laid out the book(s). I do recommend reading each story that is a part of this series, as it creates a very in depth and involved story to follow with great character development, suspense and, of course, romance that falls into the characters’ lives. In Phoenix Rising, the author immediately dives into the suspense and drama – Daniel and Megan are thrown together under less than ideal circumstances, but the sparks are undeniable. I found that Maddie Wade handle the ups/downs of this story/series with finesse and expertly carries the reader through the story. A great novel and series for those who love action tied in with suspense and romance.

Kathryn Berla’s The Kitty Committee: A Novel of Suspense is a thrilling mystery. The author does a firm job of nailing the suspense and mystery within this story. The scenes in the story are well told and the method in which the author uses to progress from now versus then is done seamlessly as if it was yourself in the present and recalling memories of the past. It’s not always easy for an author to handle storytelling within the past/present without providing too many or too few details, that was not a problem. The story easily maintained my interest and I found this to be a good read.

Georgia Clay, by K.G. Fletcher, is the first book of the Southern Promises series. The setting is a class reunion and the question always comes what could possible happen?! Two classmates reunite and sparks abound and the journey begins. The story had a true southern feel to it throughout the novel. You could feel the accents running off the characters and the behaviors evident in their actions. I could not put this story down and read it start to finish in one setting. I really enjoyed the characters and the obstacles they each had to overcome. The author didn’t force the story and you could feel it noting the flow stayed consistent. Beautifully written and looking forward to seeing what’s next in this series.

Linda’s character was a riot and the antics that go on the Green Room cannot compare to any other story I’ve read. Thoroughly enjoyed this book/series.

Laura A. Barnes’ Rescued by the Spy is the second book in the Romancing the Spies series; this historical romance follows secondary characters introduced earlier in the series: Raina and Charles. This story provides excellently written suspense and adventure while including a steady mix of tension, attraction and romance. The author sets the stage with scenes that grip your imagination, pulling you into the past as you embark on the journey these characters are trailing upon. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a historical novel that captured my interest as well as this novel/series has. Laura A. Barnes is a talented author and does an incredible job in adding the historical elements to make the story have that realistic aspect to it. Overall, a great story!

Branches of Healing: Tales of Unsung Heroes is a collection of stories by eight talented authors. This romantic anthology is full of emotionally charged, raw and well written stories; these stories are truly one of the best set of roller coaster fueled stories that I have had the pleasure of reading. A couple of my favorite are: The Last Letter Home and Finding Us. Mixing these with the military undertones, I found the stories full of depth, creativity, growth, and romance in the most unexpected of places. Adding in the thought behind these stories and the benefit their purchase will have for others is truly wonderful. This anthology is worthwhile for any romance lover!

The House that Adelia Built, by Mya O’Malley, was a reading pleasure. This story has elements of the past/present intertwined together. The layout of this story was solidly written with the right mix of descriptive detail. Add in the bit of ghostly features, the author has created an in depth story that will capture your imagination and thoughts as you proceed in both the present and what has already passed. The lighthouse that is the center of this story is definitely the main drawing point of this story. What is truly going on? Why are these events occurring? What is laying ahead for each of these characters? The pace and style of writing, by Mya O’Malley, was on point and provided a thorough and well written story.

This story immediately takes you into the suspense the author has added and builds upon it throughout the book. Luke and Macey are characters that are drawn towards one another despite their stances to handle differently. The dynamic the author has created between these two and even how it impacts other characters was steadily handled within the story. I felt the pace was consistent, not rushed or too slow, but just the right speed to keep me engaged from start to end. This was a good start to kick off the series while introducing some interesting secondary characters I hope to read in subsequent stories.

Won’t Let You Down, by Bree Kraemer, is the eighth book in the Cedarville Novel series. This contemporary romance is the story of Joy and Flynn, how their lives overlap and how they each feel about the other. This series is well written and this latest novel is no exception. I really like how the author carries over the characters from previous stories into the others, it creates a full world that is all connected in these unique ways. The dual POV within this story was perfectly written and I loved knowing and learning what each of the main characters were thinking as they interacted with others and each other. This story was full of laughs and the banter was beyond perfect. Joy is certainly one of my favorite heroine characters in regards to her quick comebacks and feedback.
