Love’s Full Circle by Cherry Christensen – Review by Karyn Taylor

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a sweet, clean, Christian romance novel. It’s quite a short book, so is good for a nice relaxing afternoon read. This author was new to me so I was unsure what to expect from this book.
It is a second chance romance. Kayden and Liam were high school sweethearts who split up when Liam kept pushing to move their relationship on to a more intimate level which Kayden did not want.
Years Later and Liam has walked into Kayden’s life again and this time wants to win her over but Kayden doesn’t want her heart broken by Liam again.
Teenage Liam, I wanted to slap but I’m sure he’s just a typical horny teenager who wants a more intimate relationship. Adult Liam I really liked. He knew he’s done wrong as was willing to di anything to make things work. Kayden, I just couldn’t connect with at all. She really exasperated me on so many levels, making me struggle to enjoy this book as much as I could have.
I like a second chance romance but struggled with this one. I liked the author’s writing style and the story flowed well but Kayden spoiled my enjoyment.

The story begins with broken-hearted teen romance, giving the background on what went wrong for Liam and Kayden. I enjoyed following the characters as they rekindled their connection and experienced the ups and downs that come with learning to trust again. I wasn’t expecting the religious tilt but it’s easy to breeze through if that isn’t your thing. Overall it was a typical romance, predictable but a reliable quick and heart felt read.

Juliet’s Journey to Love is the first book in the Great Smoky Mountain Getaways series by Elsie Davis. I would classify this as Christian woman’s fiction/Christian romance- with spiritual beliefs, Christian values, drama, challenges, trusting in God’s plan, emotion, love, loss, discovering where you belong, and finding love unexpectedly.
Juliet takes the opportunity to lead a faith group on a hike through the Appalachian mountain trail, in the hopes of getting closer to God and finding direction in her life. But when she falls ill days into the journey her companions need to call for a rescue. It’s when her unexpected rescuer turns up that things get interesting, and Juliet finds that maybe God had a plan for her all along.
This is a faith filled sweet story that should have ticked a lot of boxes for me- but unfortunately Juliet frustrated and annoyed me- and I found it difficult to connect with her- which in turn, made connecting to the story quite difficult too. Also, it felt rushed in places which also didn’t allow me to ‘settle’ into the story or to ‘lose’ myself in the story like I had hoped to. I think if we could have ‘heard’ from Jake more, it would have given the story more balance and depth.

Thank you, Elsie Davis!

Loves Full Circle was a sweet, contemporary, clean second chance romance. Kayden and Liam were high school sweethearts. Kayden wanted to save herself for marriage and wore a purity bracelet. Liam did not want the same and was a jerk about it. He gave her an ultimatum and she walked away. 15 years later he runs into her again and he wants another chance. Kayden has always been the one that got away and he always regretted how he treated her. She is pretty set in her ways and doesn’t really trust him, for good reason. Will she give him a chance? You will have to read to find out. I hope we will get an update on them. This was a great read!

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #1)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Juliet and her friends are on a journey together to spend more time outside and grow closer to the Lord. What they didn’t anticipate was Juliet becoming ill and their travel plans being thwarted! When the grizzly man Jake arrives on his 4-wheeler, it’s obvious very quickly to the group that he’s only concerned with nursing Juliet back to health and nothing else.

Jake is the all-around bachelor grizzly bear. He’s a loner in a cabin in the woods. However, he knows what needs to be done to take care of Juliet. However, he’s severely annoyed by these travel companions and their prayer meetings.

Time comes for the group to get back on to their hike once Juliet heals up, but then Jake falls ill. Good thing Juliet is a nurse and knows what to do. Besides, she owes him for treating her while she was ill! She parts from the group and nurses Jake back to health. Then she learns of a job opening at a local clinic. Can she leave her secure job and family to live out her dreams?

This book is the first I’ve read by this author but I’m already looking into other books by this author and in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it!! It included adventure and romance, plus has a medical slant, which I love!

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #4)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming and inspirational sweet romance. The novel is set in the Great Smoky Mountains and along the Appalachian Trail, and the authors wonderfully detailed descriptive narrative brings this setting vividly to life, making me feel as though I was actually there alongside Juliet. Juliet is the leader of the Freedom and Faith group, but isn’t sure of God’s plan for her. She jumps at the chance to lead two other women on a journey to hike sections of the Appalachian Trail, hoping that by getting back to nature she will grow closer to God. Unfortunately, Juliet becomes ill whilst days away from their planned exit point, and so her friends call 911. Loner Jake comes to Juliet’s rescue, but she thinks he looks more like a grizzly bear.
However, when she’s ready to leave Jake then becomes ill and needs Juliet to help him. Getting to know Jake better she realises that he’s a man with a heart and a past. When there is a opening at the medical clinic in Hollow Creek Juliet applies, with the thought that it will give her time to help Jake get his life back on track. When Jake finds out the truth, his walls start to tumble down and the pair try to put the past and their own issues aside in order to work out their differences. I liked the main characters, Juliet and Jake and I enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout the story. The storyline flowed well, and this was an enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend.

Kayden and Liam made me fall in love! It was a beautiful second chance romance. It rang out true that real/true love conquerors all and for these 2 it did. They had to work through many issues and Liam had to prove that he was a new man, but they were able to overcome it all. Its truly a great story wrapped in a pretty package, and it will stick with you. Love, drama, and forgiveness at its best!

Sometimes I read such heavy books and need a sweet romance to clear my mind. That’s exactly what I got with this book. Kayden and Liam truly stole my heart. This story is about giving first love a second Chance. It’s everything you could possibly want from a sweet second Chance romance. You can’t help but feel every emotion the author brings into the story. You also can’t help but root for Liam and Kayden, the draw you in so easily. It’s a sweet story that’s well written and paced nicely! Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

A lovely sweet contemporary romance with a second chance at love theme, which kept me happily turning the pages. Kayden James and Liam had a relationship when they were younger which ended badly, having both moved on and achieved great things career wise, neither of them have met ‘the one’. Successful marriage and family therapist, Kayden thought she had put the past behind her until, Liam, the man who broke her heart turns up years later, claiming he’s changed. Liam’s one regret was letting Kayden slip through his fingers, and he’s determined to prove to her that he’s changed, and that she can trust him, but she’s not making it easy for him. I liked both Kayden and Liam’s characters and could feel the chemistry between them, but could also understand Kayden’s reluctance at giving Liam a second chance. However, I was cheering them on hoping they would both get their HEA. This was a fairly quick read, but an enjoyable and engaging one with a heartwarming storyline and likeable characters.

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #4)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Juliet’s escape to the Great Smokey Mountains isn’t at all what she planned. She isn’t sure about her plans for her life, so she and two other women go on a hike of the Appalachian Trail. She leads her group through the trail so that they may get closer to nature and grow closer to God, but Juliet becomes ill a few days before the hike is due to end. Her friends must call for help and when said help arrives they aren’t sure what to make of their grizzly bear rescuer Jake. Jake doesn’t want them around. He doesn’t want anyone around. He helps Juliet but then in turn he falls ill. Not at all what was planned in deed! As a nurse, now it’s Juliet’s turn to help grizzly Jake. She is determined to help Jake weather he wants her to or not. She accepts a part time job to be closer to him and pushes him in ways that makes him want to run. When the truth comes out about some of her methods things get a bit murky. Can they get past their pasts and issues? Can they get over some fundamental beliefs and come to an understanding? Juliet has a life back home that waits for her, as she wades through waves of uncertainty and trust issues. Will she come to realize God’s purpose for her life or will her whole trip be a waste of time? Who knew that getting sick would upend her and Jake’s lives completely? Such a great book. Not my typical read, but glad I took a chance on it. Read to find out more about these two. I personally can’t wait to read the others in the set!

This book was a very good depiction of how to handle situations that aren’t easy, and are emotionally painful, when you are trying to forgive someone for inflicting pain with their carelessness. I found the characters relatable and well formed, as well as the scenery and the storyline. This book is very good, and Cherry Christensen is a gifted author with much insight. I liked that there wasn’t a ton of unnecessary drama, but enough to keep the storyline moving and keep the characters growing and maturing while working toward rekindling their romance of days past, without a full walk down memory lane. I was engaged and interested from the moment I picked it up, and fell asleep while trying to finish because I was too close not to and didn’t want to put it down. I would highly recommend this book.

Juliet's Journey to Love (Great Smoky Mountain Getaways, #4)Juliet’s Journey to Love by Elsie Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is a clean romance and can be very inspirational.

Take a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Juliet isn’t sure what God’s plan for her life is, but the opportunity to head the Freedom and Faith small group gives her a sense of purpose and belonging. The group intends to trek parts of the Appalachian Trail in order to become closer to God through a back-to-nature approach. Juliet accompanies two other ladies on a trip, determined to succeed, but when she becomes unwell and they’re days away from their destination, her companions must dial 911. She’s compelled to accept aid from a man who looks more like a grizzly bear than a savior. Jake, the loner, wants them to go.

Except that just as Juliet and her friends are about to leave, Jake succumbs to the sickness, and Juliet must once again save the day. She meets a man with a heart and a history in the process. Her inability to lead the group inspires her to redouble her attempts to be needed, and she’s eager to assist Jake in more ways than one. When she hears about an opening at the medical clinic in Hollow Creek, she applies, knowing it will offer her a reason to stay in town and allow her to assist Jake with his life back. Her tactics aren’t always spotless, but she has the correct intentions. The walls come crumbling down when Jake discovers the truth. Can they sort out their differences by mucking through the past and their own issues?

I loved this story. I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is my first book from this author and I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Juliet’s Journey to Love is the first book in the Great Smoky Mountain Getaways Series. This is a Contemporary Romance/ Christian/ Inspirational clean Romance that I absolutely loved reading. This is just what I needed with all the chaos life has thrown at me lately. I was able to sit and relax for a few hours. This had my emotions all over the place and it was a very heart-felt read. This is a fairly new author and I can say she’s got a new fan. I’ve already recommended it to my mom This is a story about Juliet and Jake. She is a leader of a group through the church that is hiking a small portion of the Appalachian Trail. She finds herself becoming ill and needing to get some medical attention but what she wasn’t expecting was the grizzly mountain man Jake. He nurse her back to health only to fall ill with the same thing she had. Now it’s her turn to nurse him back. What happens next I highly recommend reading this book to find out. I don’t want to give to much away. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Faithful in Love is the first book in the Cliff Walk Cousins Series. This is a Historical Romance/Christian  book that I absolutely loved reading. This is a fairly new author to me but I’ve already looked to see what other books she has. Im definitely going to check them out.  I’m a huge fan of Historical Romance/Christian Romance and this book definitely checked all the boxes. I was pulled in from the beginning and had a terrible time putting it down. I caught myself saying one more chapter several times. This is a story about Faith and Nico. Faith finds herself starting to fall for her uncle’s apprentice who just happens to be Nico. He’s extremely happy with his apprenticeship for his uncle. but what will happen when  their friendship  turns more romantic? I loved these two especially Faith. I found myself a little emotional at times . I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author. I’m very excited about this series.

This was a very thought-provoking read for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the anticipation I felt as the story of Juliet and Jake unfolded. While there were some aspects of Juliet’s character that frustrated me, I know it was a necessary part of the story to demonstrate the progress she was making in her own personal growth.

I chose this book, knowing it was not the type of book I would typically read. And I do not have a single regret. It helped me to reflect on how many of us always want to fix things, especially people we care about. We want our loved ones to be happy, so we try to pressure them into doing the things we do, or did, to find our own joy. But not everyones journey to happiness is identical. And not everyone needs to be fixed. I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful story!

I really enjoyed this beautiful romance story. It was really nice reading Juliet’s story. Following her on the journey to find what her heart desires love and the possibility of a family. Throughout this journey Juliet struggles with her faith and her ability to remain confident in God’s plan for her when everything seems so far out of her reach. However god works in mysterious ways and if we keep our faith he will surprise us when we least expect it.

Juliet’s surprise comes in the form of Jake. When Juliet becomes ill Jake helps her out and even though at first they seem to be so incompatable as their feelings grow and progress you know they are the perfect fit for each other.

This is a beautiful clean romance with a lot of reference to religion and keeping faith in God’s plan for you.

I found this story to be amazing. It might be short, but the characters have plenty of time to develop and the story line has plenty of time to develop as well (which is amazing). I love how Kayden sticks to what she wants, which inspires me because it is hard to stay true to yourself. She defiantly has a surprise when Liam shows up though. I love how they give their love another chance.

A sweet historic romance between wealthy Faith and from the city Nico. As the story begins it is clear that Faith and her cousin Thomas are very close and you might expect the budding romance to be between them as Thomas is adopted. But then Nico comes to help her uncle with a project and they both seem to be very interested in one another. As events take place it becomes clear that Faith must trust in hers to make it through each occurrence. By the end of the story, she has developed quite a lot from a very naïve and innocent young lady to one who is starting to fully understand the bad and ugly that is around her.

I enjoy a nice historical romance once in a while and this certainly was just that. I liked the fact that this was a clean romance. It made quite a change from the norm and was very well written. The characters are realistic and quickly draw in the reader.

I really enjoyed the escape into this world along with the balance of romance and just the right amount of drama. I found that the book was a breath of fresh air. Faith, a very strong, emotional female lead. I absolutely love this book. The historical aspect of the romance and the fact that it is centered on such a strong, loving family is beyond awesome. I appreciate the fact that this romantic novel was written so sweetly and that all the characters are such strong in their faith and love of God. When vital information comes up missing, boy, I was so wrong as to who my accused was. The characters came to life in my head, and I could picture myself in the era of the book. My favorite character must be Evie though, since all she seems to care about are books, I can relate to her so well! A great read full of intrigue, mystery, faith, and romance. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series. I just love how the family sticks together to help a friend and that it is done in such an innocent and pure form of love. A must read! I just love the fact that old-fashioned courting was taking place. Who doesn’t like a good romance that is clean and pure and perfect?

I loved reading this book. The feelings between Nico and Faith was pulling on my heartstrings. Family means so much to these two it almost nips things in the bud. Being in historical 1900’s was a great look into the world that was so long ago and the mannerisms and culture. Nico’s background of not having much hit close to home. I felt for him because i know what it’s like. Having a relatable character is huge for me. It makes the story more real. The pacing in this book was well paced out, it didn’t take too long or drug it out at a slow pace. The writing was phenomenal. It felt like I was right there being a background character watching these events between Nico and Faith happen. I cant wait to read the next books in this series!
