My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was fast, fun and kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s another that pulled me in from the beginning. The plot had enough action and intrigue to keep the reader wanting to stay to see what happens next. Our two main characters were feisty enough and had such chemistry that I couldn’t help snickering at some of the interactions. Man, they have some challenges to get through. You’ll have to check out the book to see if they made it through. This is really a terrific book. I can recommend the whole series. Come on, you know you want a new series to try. Take a chance. I recommend it!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I did not know what to expect when I began to read this amazing book, it was full of so much more than I ever could have anticipated! It had wonder, intrigue, suspense! I highly recommend this book and this author off the bat, they really graphed a wonderful story, and I shall be reading their previous work for sure!

For me the sci fi component of this story hooked me right from the start. I did not expect to be sucked in as much as I was while reading. The characters and their development literally left me breathless. I was literally flipping the pages as I read to see what engagements of the story and characters would happen next! The author did a wonderful job on the WOW factor and wrote an amazing book!

Another thing I truly loved was the visual affects that were put into my mind, creatures, other worlds of living, and overall just the characters and the people or creatures they met. The story was mind blowing in one way. I was so sad when this story came to an end, I wanted to continue and be intrigued so much more. I just loved it that much! The author defiantly has a new stalker haha! Loved this book!

Wonderful and as well, wonderful writing by a truly gifted author. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book to anyone who is to read it, or try out this new author as I did, certainly a treat and a very brilliant mesmerizing read! Highly recommend this amazing book and amazing author!

5 Stars

King of Pain is the fifth book in the Interstellar Rescue Series by Donna S. Frelick. This is a fantastic sci-fi romance- a bit of an enemies to lovers’ story with plenty of action, adventure, danger, corruption, rivalry, race wars, political manoeuvring, hidden agendas, sinister forces, drama, intrigue, spaceships, fight scenes, alien shifters, enhanced abilities, emotion, chemistry, and brilliant world building. I have said this a few times now, am so addicted to this series, and Ms. Frelick’s writing- I eagerly await each new release to get my ‘fix’.
I can always count on this talented author to deliver a riveting story, and this book definitely didn’t disappoint on any level. But, as expected, Ms. Frelick crafted some tense scenes that had me on the edge of my seat devouring the pages to discover how things would play out. Her clever mind was always several steps ahead, crafting plenty of dramatic twists and unexpected developments that kept me guessing and glued to the pages.
The story is told from multiple points of view, which made the story even more intriguing, and I loved that I not only got to meet some very interesting new characters, but also got to spend time with some characters we have met (and loved) in previous instalments.
Can’t get enough of this series! A must read! Just brilliant! Highly recommended!

Thank you, Donna S. Frelick!

King of Pain (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 5)King of Pain by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 5 in the Interstellar Rescue Series. I have loved the stories in this series and this one was just as good as the previous ones. I’m not a big sci-fi reader however this author and this series had definately made me fall in love with sci-fi.
These stories are so enjoyable. You are gripped from the beginning. The stories are fast paced which means you are captured from the first page. I love that both characters in this story are very strong determined people but with pasts that allow them to be vulnerable and human.

As well as the sci-first aspect there is also a romance. This romance is strong. When Trevyn  meets Lael on a ship he is sent to stop as it carries weapons for slave traders he is surprised to see her at the helm. However things aren’t what they seem. Lael  is the leader of Uprising against the people who killed her father.
Because of a crime she was supposed to have committed she is sentenced to death. But Trevyn doesn’t understand why.
Trevyn  decides he needs to find the truth which leads him back to his home, a place he never wanted to return. Between them can they solve the mystery and save Lael? What they find out will shock them both as their pasts are closer than they even realise.

This story is full of questions, conspiracy and danger. Both of our main characters have their hearts broken by the past, so can they heal each others pain or will the past come back to hurt them both in ways they don’t realise?

King of Pain (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 5)King of Pain by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow it’s been a while since I have read a book from this author, and we are already up to book 5 and so much has happened along the way. This Sci Fi thriller romance is a just as compelling as the others. This author has made me more of a sci fi reader. I mean I love watching it, but reading was another thing. Yeah, I don’t know why either.
Anywho, the story is told from multiple POV’s which always gives the story a lot more depth and information. Conspiracy, two broken hearts, old wounds, uprising, slavery, smuggling, shapeshifters, and being hunted is just some of what to expect that makes this a great read.
It is an amazing tale full of suspense and adventure, intrigue and mystery and creatures from other worlds. I was thoroughly engrossed from start to finish and love that we revisit with old characters. I love the way this author cleverly weaves a complex story with many moving parts. This sizzling series is really Sci Fi at its best.

I enjoyed this scientific fantasy story. This is not my first book by this author and it is just as great if not better than the previous books I have read. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. I enjoyed how the characters are connectable and kept the story engaging. This is a fast paced story that is full of action and just a great story. This is a story about broken love and finding it again. Two pasts that are full of pain, two worlds and how fate will step in to change things. I enjoyed the growth and chemistry between the characters. They brought the story to life and made it entertaining to read. This is a great pick up which I highly recommend.

One planet, two worlds. And only Fate could unite them.
Trevyn Dar was once a Hunter of Thrane, feared throughout the galaxy as the son of the Butcher of Four Systems. But he clawed his way free of that bloody legacy to find his true path, as captain of a ship serving the anti-slavery goals of the Interstellar Council of Abolition and Rescue.
Lael Saphora is Hinarr, shapeshifter, sharing her skin with a snow cat Companion, but, like all her people, hunted, and oppressed because she lacks the telepathic skills of the genetic Thranes of her home planet. Since she witnessed the brutal death of her father as a child, Lael has been fighting for her people. She leads the Uprising against the iron grip of the Thrane Ruling Houses.
When Trevyn receives unusual orders from Rescue to seize a ship smuggling weapons for slavers, he discovers the darkly compelling Lael at the helm—no slaver, but a political prisoner, whose extradition to Thrane means torture and death. His journey to uncover what’s behind her false arrest takes him back to a home planet he had hoped to never see again, reveals an ugly conspiracy at the heart of Rescue, and rips open old wounds. Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s difficult to say what I like best about this book. It resonated with me because our hero, Rafe, in this story is dealing with a real life situation as best he can. It’s a situation that I myself am experiencing at this time . It’s difficult emotionally to care for an aging parent and it was quite refreshing to see this addressed in a good science fiction story. I could identify with him and it made the story comforting and made my own burden seem somewhat lighter. In Not Fade Away, once again Donna S. Frelick gives us a strong hero and heroine. Charlie is very confident and sure of herself. She, like all good caregivers, knows there’s more than one patient. It was such a good story I’m pretty sure I will be reading it again.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Donna S. Frelick has done it again with her fourth book in the Interstellar Rescue Series; Not Fade Away. I’m going to have to say that this book was my favorite out of the series, and although it is technically the last book, it can defiantly be read as a stand-alone. Donna has such an elegant way of writing character descriptions and bringing a great story plot to life. Her writing in this book was flawless as usual and I felt as if I really connected to the characters that she portrays so well in this story.
Rafe Gordon is and has always been an agent with Rescue. Although he is human, he grew up on a different planet and was raised by his parents, who were both agents of rescue. Rafe is very focused on his job and cares more about his work then finding the love of a woman for more than one night. His father, Del, has been diagnosed with a form of dementia that has taken over much of his brain and personality. Despite being debilitated with this disease he becomes the target of alien assassins and they are forced to relocate to a safer place. Rescue figures the safest place for Del and Rafe to hide for a while is on Earth were Del was born, Masey, North Carolina. After being transported to their new home on the mountains, Del is assigned a home health nurse.
Charlie McIntyre is the home health nurse assigned to Dels case. After her very first visit with her therapy dog, Happy in tow, she realizes there is something entirely different about this particular case. Del frequently has spells of occurrences that are inconsistent with his form of dementia diagnosis. These episodes are really otherworldly and the more time she spends around Del and his dangerously attractive son the more she begins to question not only his diagnosis but also the “story” of who they are. Even if Rafe cares for her, more than he tries to let on, he keeps her at a safe distance. Charlie could never know the secrets that he and Del are keeping. Charlie works at breaking down the barrier of secrets as the assassin closes in. Secrets are exposed as the truth behind the questions of why Del was set as a target in the first place, are revealed. What they are up against is not just an assassin who is on their tails but also a machine that is made to kill and conquer all other planets in orbit.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not Fade Away is an exciting science fiction book by Donna S. Frelick, the fourth in her Interstellar Rescue Series. It focuses on the characters of Del, a retired hero whose limited mobility and dementia means he needs to be cared for by his son, Rescue agent Rafe, and Charlie, a home care nurse in the American town Del and Rafe are hiding in. On the periphery are characters who have been the focus of earlier books, including Gabriel, Lana, Rayna and Sam.
I like how the Interstellar Rescue Series juxtaposes alien worlds and spaceships with normal, everyday Earth. The focus on dementia in this book is particularly poignant and works well within the plot. We get glimpses into Del’s past in the form of flashbacks that leave him disoriented and saying things that Charlie can’t quite make sense of.
Charlie has a dog, Happy, who is a wonderful addition to the cast! Happy and Del develop a very special relationship and Happy comes into his own warning Charlie and Rafe when they are in danger. Space, romance AND a dog – what more could you ask for?
I’ve been enjoying this series so far. The stories kind of work independently but it’s worth starting with the first book, Unchained Memory, to get more of the world-building and start meeting the characters. For me, this is a five star read which I would recommend to sci fi fans who enjoy stories with alien abductions and other interactions between the terrestrial and extraterrestrial.

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

This is the 4th book in the Interstellar Rescue Series. Again, and again the books in this series keep getting better and better to me. This story is full of romance, action, suspense and danger, which all nicely fit together to make for a wonderful book.

Charlie is a compassionate and loving woman with a rough history in the love department. She is assigned to a man called Del with dementia, when she meets his son Rafe. She falls in love at first sight but will continuously push him away.

Rafe is a Interstellar Rescue agent and he brings his father to earth to get care as, they are being targeted by assassins. Rafe also falls in love with Charlie at first sight but, wants to stay away in order to protect their secrets. Charlie starts digging a little too deep into their lives and soon discovers what they have been hiding. When danger reaches them it is up to Rafe to protect his father and the woman he loves.

I am fully invested at this point with this series. Each book sucks me into the story every time. Each book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend the full series.

I loved this book just as much as the other three in this series. This book as well as the others in this series can be read as a standalone without feeling lost. I suggest that you read all of them because they are great reads and you do get introduced to some characters that are in other books. This story is full of action, adventure, sci fi, romance, and danger. The author does a wonderful job blending all these aspects of the story so well. There are wonderful characters in this book and Charlie and Rafe had chemistry from the start. I read this book in one sitting because it intrigued me so much and I needed to know what happens. You must read to find out where this adventure will take you. I highly recommend this book.

5-Star

Not Fade Away (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4) by Donna S. Frelick was an excellent 5-star read. It is a wonderful addition to this series. I loved the various characters including Rafe, Charlie, Del, and Happy. The author did very well with their development and backstory. It was easy to fall in love with them. There were several other characters carried over from previous novels that I was very excited to see in this book as well.

The storyline was full of action and Romance. It was easy to follow and get lost in. The author was very organized when alternating between past occurrences and present. I appreciated how the sections had a break before each. This story had an exciting climax and the author pulls everything together well at the end of her story. I highly recommend this book and the series itself.

I give Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick, 4 stars.

Rafe’s father, although a well-know military man, has been in failing health. Now it seems like there is someone out to kill him. So they decide to hide him on Earth. That where he is from and he has been asking to go there for a while now. They end up in a cabin in a small town in North America. It is unlike anything Rafe has experienced before, but it is quite peaceful. He cannot manage his father alone though so they decide to hire a visiting nurse. The woman who shows up is not what the expected. Claire and her dog come in to provide aid to his father. But Rafe cannot stop thinking about her. His father is in danger though, he does not have time for a love interest. Plus he cannot divulge where the really are from. Humans don’t know about how much is really out there. But how can he say no to this woman?

This is a great addition to the series. The main characters are so different from previous couples in the series, which adds another layer to a great story. There is so much going on, action, suspense, romance — you feel so much for these people. Oh and Happy is a wonderful addition!

This is a well written science fiction romance that weaves a wonderful world you will fall into and not stop reading until the book is done.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fools Rush In is the third book in Donna S. Frelick’s Interstellar Rescue Series. It’s got more of a classic sci-fi feel than the previous two books which I really enjoyed.
A prequel to the previous two books, Fools Rush In gives us the backstories of Sam and Rayna who we’ve encountered before as secondary characters. It’s great to understand more of their motivations and to see them getting to know each other when we already have an idea how things will end up.
I have enjoyed all of the series so far, but Fools Rush In has definitely been my favourite. I felt that the story was more focused, and I could really get absorbed in it. The space ship setting gave it a decidedly Star Trek feel, with enough originality that it has its own character. There are space pirates (space pirates! Pirates! In space!) and plenty of action and mystery to balance out the romance.
For me, this is a five star book. It works as a stand-alone and is an excellent addition to the series. I’d recommend starting at the beginning with Unchained Memory to enter Frelick’s exciting universe from a mundane and relatable Earth, but if you’re after a stand-alone space romance then this is a great choice!

Fools Rush In: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3 by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

This is the 3rd book in the Interstellar Rescue Series. Another wonderful book by Donna S. Frelick. Like the first 2 books in the series, the 3rd one does a great job of pulling you right in from the start.

In this story we meet Rayna who is part of the Interstellar Rescue Service and she is on a mission to save slaves from slave ships. She runs into Sam, a space pirate that captures the slave ship she is undercover on and, gets him to work with her on her mission.

Rayna is a strong and independent woman, and I really enjoyed reading her character and seeing how she faced all the challenges she was put up against. The romance between her and Sam was very nice, and I really enjoyed them as a couple. The other aspect I found made the story more intriguing was the fact that the story for the most part took place on spaceships.

I would definitely recommend this series to any romantic sci-fi lover. It can be read a standalone, but the series is excellent so far when read in order.

by Donna S. Frelick

This was an enjoyable read, and I’m glad I got to know some of the characters from the other books better. I have read the first two books in this series and they were a great read as well so I suggest reading them but you don’t have to read them to enjoy and follow this one. This book is more of a prequel to the other 2 books. It is full of action and adventure, there also some steamy moments. The author is very detailed and makes you feel as though you can picture these places in your mind. I like this author’s writing style, the story flows so well and there are wonderful characters. This series as a whole has been an entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this book and this series.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Cassi Rogers

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick is listed as book number 3 in the Interstellar Rescue Series, however this storyline takes place before what was written in book 2. Although it made me feel a bit out of sorts, I don’t feel as if you would need to read the first two books in the series to understand these characters or the plot of the novel. I feel like this book could be read as a stand-alone. Overall I really enjoyed the development of this story and Donnas’ writing is brilliant, as usual. The character descriptions were flawless and there was a perfect balance between steamy scenes and action packed battles!
Rayna Carver is an agent for Rescue. Her job is to go undercover on slave ships and rescue those who have been stolen into slavery. She is on the job, undercover, when the ship she is on is attacked and hijacked by pirates. Once aboard the pirate ship, known as the Shadowhawk, she meets Captain Sam Murphy. At first Rayna isn’t too fond of Murphy, whom she refers to as Captain Snark, but at the same time she is attracted to him.
Captain Sam Murphy meets Rayna Carver feels frustration, tension, and arousal? She comes to him with questions and demands, after all she still has a job to do. When things start going wrong with the ship they have to pair up to figure out what is going on and how to put an end to it. There is also the fact that there are two spies, working for a government, set on sabotaging the arms factory that Rayna is working at. There are so many twist and turns in this story. It will keep you on your toes and at the edge of your seat.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Liz Vrchota

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Usually not one for sci-fi novels, I tend to make an exception for Donna S. Frelick. I have really enjoyed the Interstellar Rescue Series and have always been left rapt for more. Fools Rush In is the third in the series, but could be read as its own novel. It really is actually a prequel more than anything so this may even be a good place to start if you want to meet the characters and have some more detailed back story. I’m sure after reading it you will be hooked on the series either way.

I love the characters Agent Rayna Carver and Pirate Sam Murphy. Both of them are great but together they are dynamite. I truly enjoy the equal grounding they both have as leads and as characters. The story is action-packed, literally straight out the gate, and it doesn’t slow down past lightning speed until the very end. The subtle romance was a nice touch to add depth of emotion as you read. I look forward to seeing what will come in the following books.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Chantelle Smith

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fools Rush In is Book #3 in the Interstellar Rescue series. Each book that Donna S. Frelick writes brings an amazing level of adventure, romance and edge of the seat action. Book 3 is definitely my favourite one of this series, and also two of my favourite characters. I loved following their journey in this read, the author has given us a well developed and descriptive storyline that is mentally visual to all that reads it. I was totally hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down till the end. I must say even though these books can be read as a stand-alone, but for the extra depth and weaving of characters and storylines, I highly recommend reading all these books together, I know for a fact that you wouldn’t be disappointed.

I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series takes us and what else this author has to offer, but I’m excited to find out! Until then do not miss this read!

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick- Review by Tausha Treadway

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick. This is the 3rd book in this series but it’s actually a prequel so it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed this book. Its the story of Interstellar Rescue “conductor” Rayna Carver who is deep undercover on a slave ship in space. Captain Sam Murphy is a space pirate with a love for saving slaver ships. Rayna has to try to convince Sam to help her continue her mission. When they meet sparks fly and chemistry is hot! This book is set mainly in Space where the others in this series are mainly on Earth which gives a whole new spin on things. Rayna is a very independent woman and has trouble asking for or taking help. There are tons of battles with both Rayna and Sam getting beat up but they seem to always help each other. Will Rayna and Sam save people from being taken from Earth to be used as Slaves in Space or will they end up battling each other to the point of losing the war. Will they take their relationship to the next level? Read Fools Rush In to find out!

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Jenni Bishop

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fools Rush In: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3 by Donna S. Frelick is the third book in this Sci Fi romance series and is really a prequel to the other two books. It takes us to the beginning of Agent Rayna Carver and Captain Sam Murphy, who you would know from books one and two. It is a quick and easy read and this book mainly centres around being on spaceships and the dangers of other beings trying to take over. takes place on starships and occasional dingy and dangerous ports. As battles ensue and fights for lives romance blossoms in the toughest of them all. There is plenty of action and battles, plots and murder and much more that will keep you turning the pages. The characters are endearing and are easy to like. This is actually my favourite book in the series.

Rayna is an agent sent on missions to help bring prisoners home after being abducted from all over the universe. She is one sassy, strong and take no prisoners type of gal and she has just met her match. Will she be able to survive the ordeal or will she fail in her mission?

Sam is a space pirate and he hates the creatures who abduct beings. He is also wanted by the same agency that employs the woman who won’t leave his mind. With a fight against time will he survive and be able to help the woman he loves?

I am not a sci fi lover but I did enjoy this series. If you enjoy science fiction then this series is for you.

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3) by Donna S. Frelick – Review by Erin Wolf

Fools Rush In (Interstellar Rescue, #3)Fools Rush In by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Fools Rush In: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3 by Donna S. Frelick, 4 stars.

Rayna is undercover on a slave ship. She knows what her mission is and readily plays the role she needs to get inside. But things don’t go as planned. The slave ship is rescued by a pirate ship. While this is wonderful for the slaves aboard, it ruins everything for Rayna. Even more so when she has to explain what is really going on. Is there any way she can convince the captain to let her finish her mission? Or will his hatred for slavery ruin it all? What will it cost them? What of the attraction these two feel for each other?

This is my favorite book so far of the series. The story was so enthralling to me. I absolutely loved all the characters, the are all so different, but yet so real. The story is creative and new to me. Not to mention it kept twisting and turning on me to keep me on my toes. I could not put this book down, I was dying to see what happened next.

This can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading all of the books in the series since they are so good. If you are a fan of science fiction romance/action, this book is for you.

Fools Rush In: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 3 By Donna S. Frelick. Once again I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I’ve come to love this series not because there’s anything wrong with it , I’m just not use to liking this genre. This author however is quickly changing my mind. Each book is quite the adventure of sci-fi and romance, which I think the author does a wonderful job of mixing together. Each character in this story is well thought out and relatable, each bringing something unique to the storyline. From page one I was hooked and ready to be reading for a while. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it. Excited to see where the author takes readers next.
