King of Pain (Interstellar Rescue Series Book 5)King of Pain by Donna S. Frelick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book 5 in the Interstellar Rescue Series. I have loved the stories in this series and this one was just as good as the previous ones. I’m not a big sci-fi reader however this author and this series had definately made me fall in love with sci-fi.
These stories are so enjoyable. You are gripped from the beginning. The stories are fast paced which means you are captured from the first page. I love that both characters in this story are very strong determined people but with pasts that allow them to be vulnerable and human.

As well as the sci-first aspect there is also a romance. This romance is strong. When Trevyn  meets Lael on a ship he is sent to stop as it carries weapons for slave traders he is surprised to see her at the helm. However things aren’t what they seem. Lael  is the leader of Uprising against the people who killed her father.
Because of a crime she was supposed to have committed she is sentenced to death. But Trevyn doesn’t understand why.
Trevyn  decides he needs to find the truth which leads him back to his home, a place he never wanted to return. Between them can they solve the mystery and save Lael? What they find out will shock them both as their pasts are closer than they even realise.

This story is full of questions, conspiracy and danger. Both of our main characters have their hearts broken by the past, so can they heal each others pain or will the past come back to hurt them both in ways they don’t realise?
