Expect the unexpected. This story is one that grips you and doesn’t let go until you’re through. At first, I was surprised that Ravenna’s lover was a woman, but honestly, that built her character more for me. She’s relatable and a badass. Dravos is one of those people you can’t help but be curious about. I absolutely love this story, and I hope to read more soon.

The Intruders by Brett McKay is a bit of a gripping supernatural thriller. This is my first book from Mr. McKay so I was excited to see what he could do. I was immediately pulled into the story, avidly reading along to find out how things played out in the end. I was so engrossed that I ended up reading the whole book in one sitting. I didn’t need sleep. I needed answers lol. Dex Sanders is a down on his luck husband and father. Scraping by as a car salesman just to make ends meet. But what happens when strange things begin to happen? An odd package arrives. Then dangerous intruders abduct him and his family- and then try to torture information out of him? Things couldn’t get worse. Or could they? Dex will need to dig deep, and try to keep his wits about him if he has any chance of finding a way to escape to save his family and himself- oh, and the world while he’s at it. An intense story full of danger, dramatic developments, action, violence, agendas, time running out, high stakes, discovery, challenges, a powerful supernatural force, deadly & determined killers, and a whole lot of nail-biting tension…. it’s well worth the read to discover all the gripping details for yourself. Fantastic story with a few twists that you might not see coming.
Eleanor “Ellie” has been in love with Rafael for over a decade. There have always been barriers to her expressing her feelings for him, Raf is her brother’s best friend, he sees her as a little sister, and they are squarely in the friendzone. Recently Raf has been giving off mixed signals, like the longing looks but at the same time telling her she can’t wear a short skirt. Ellie has had it. She has to move on.
Rafael “Raf” is just a fisherman from the wrong side of the tracks. Despite his love for Ellie, he won’t ever be the kind of man she deserves. Not that her brother, his best friend, would ever let him date her anyway. Raf has loved Ellie as long as he can remember. It is getting harder and harder for him to fight his feelings. I wasn’t a fan. I spent most of the first half of Return of the Elf Lord utterly confused. I just didn’t understand how one thing went with another. However, I’m saying that just because the book wasn’t my forte, doesn’t mean it won’t be yours. The author gives you a story with a lot of meat. If you enjoy world war 2 and supernatural worlds this book is definitely for you. Of course there’s some time traveling tied in. And anyone who enjoys that knows that time traveling always causes a lot of chaos. So you can imagine where this all ends up going. The question being can the chaos be prevented? If not can it be repaired? Bernard was saved. However he can’t let go of the fact that he lost his family. He comes up with a plan to get them back. But unfortunately doesn’t understand the consequences that plan will cause. He’s blinded by the fact of wanting his wife and kids back. By the fact he’s gaining a power he didn’t have before that can help him in his conquest. He’s been warned to let the past remain, unfortunately he doesn’t heed that warning. Freyja and Alva are trying to stop him. Will they be too late? Alva has her own issues going on, so Bernard being selfish doesn’t help her deal with those. Her people are at wits end with leadership. Her mom is weak and perishing. But for her to be able to deal with those issues they need to prevent Bernard from rocking every world and realm. This is a story about a man who is having trouble letting go. A woman’s acceptance of who she and her people are. Does that bring them together? Balance and equality through the world & realms. Again the author put together a good story worth the read. I took a chance and struck out. Doesn’t mean it takes away from the artistry the author put on the pages. Definitely promising and I look to check another book out by this author in the future.

I enjoyed Curse of the Elf Lord way more than I enjoyed book 1. It wasn’t all over the place and confusing for me. A cohesive story that I feel was better written with more substance than the first book. We are diving deep into the supernatural world which is what drew me to this book in the first place. Though I’ve minimal Elven reference, my preference tends to stick to vampires and shifters. However, there’s more than Elves, there’s demons, gods, wolves, ect which I enjoyed. Mythology tying into books has a tendency to peak my interest as well. Especially if Hades is involved, but I digress. Emilien and Hel are at romantic odds. Estrangement is better, but what happens when they are forced to work together? Something is going on, beings in the different worlds are starting to disappear. Getting stuck in the Shadow Lands Emilien was thrown for a loop. He was also attacked too and warned to cease his quest after his brother and his wife. If it wasn’t for his connection with Hel he might not have made it back. Freyja believes it’s all tied together. Olivier and his wife’s disappearance and the missing beings from world’s that depend on them for survival. The author writes a wonderful story that pushes these two estranged characters back together. Wonderfully written she keeps you intrigued and wanting to know what happens next. I very well believe this works just as well as a stand-alone as well as a series. Now I think I need to jump into one of the authors’ other series because I’m realizing I may have another author to add to my list of favorites!

This one surprised me. I found the description of the horses, rodeo activities and western wear thorough, an important part of the story and impressive. This was my first experience with this series. I enjoyed the story.
Tori is no stranger to the rodeo. She has been helping her parents out with their rodeo camps since she was a little girl. Tori is also a champion barrel racer but that is not what drives her passion. Tori wants to be a saddle bronc rider. It is what makes her happy. Tori has a plan. Her plan starts to take an unwanted curve when her parents allow the #1 saddle bronc rider to use their spare room when he is in town for the rodeo.
Cord is the son of a saddle bronc riding legend. He is the one to watch on the circuit right now. There is nothing that can distract him from his dreams of National championship. That is until he meets Tori. For some reason, Cord just can’t get this woman out of his head. Is it the way she sees right through his charm and public persona? Is the way she doesn’t flirt or fall at his feet like so many of the other girls he meets? Is it because she just became his competition?
As Tori and Cord keep winding up in the same places, a tenuous friendship grows. Cord has protective feelings for Tori, but she quickly proves that she can handle herself with any of the cowboys that bother her. Will they decide to stop fighting the attraction?

After finishing the first book in the Kingdome of the Elf Lords Series, Return of the Elf Lord I couldn’t wait to get my hands on book 2. The author continues to build on the magnificent world of the first book, but we are now learning about Emilien Elasalor, Bernard’s Uncle. He was cursed centuries earlier by a dark fae into the upright wolf that he is. Shortly into the book it was nice to be reminded of Bernard and Alva from the first book. Emilien had helped his nephew in Washington D.C. fighting the loose undead, a result of Bernard having changed the war’s timeline. Shalendra, is the perfect combination of Elf and God, her features that of an angel. Her entire life he had taken care of her, told her he was her brother only now to have run out of time and having to tell her the one secret he has kept from her, the most important. She was not his sister but his daughter. Only before he had been given the chance Shalendra alerts him to the blue glowing figures outside the window, five large Draugar and eight wolves circling them. The elf king Ailuin had sent the group to his home, which had been hidden for centuries, for Emilien to teach the wolves how to live in their new forms, rather they wished to or not. Because of the curse done to him the wolves before him and all others like him when his children, created using the notes of the dark fae that had changed him. Once again, the originality of Heidi Vanlandingham draws me in deeper and deeper with her Norse mythology mixing with history. How will Shalendra react to learning that her entire life has been a lie. The man, or better the wolf before her was not her brother but in fact her true father. Will Hel and Emilien be able to save their only daughter and will love reunite them after so long apart. I cannot wait to see what comes in the next book about Cyran and Shalendra’s story.

I adore a good rock star romance, and this story had that and so much more behind it! This book was funny, dramatic, emotional, heartfelt, and true ode to music and the chaos behind it. Wil and El find such a strength in each other, but are also driven together by their passion for music and their drive to come into their own. Each has their own agenda and not everything is blacks and white. Like every good rock story there are secrets, lies, betrayal and the age old question of whether the show will truly go on!

I Loved You Yesterday is a contemporary romance that includes an interesting love triangle with twin brothers. This line from the book description sums up Mavis’s delima perfectly, “Caught between both men, Mavis must choose between the brother for whom she broke her own heart, and the brother who picked up the pieces.” Would it be better to rekindle a past relationship that has so much history, or to start fresh.
Forgiveness, loyalty, love, and trust are all brought into question as secrets from the past are brought to the surface. Julie Navickas has written interesting, realistic characters that are believable as they make mistakes and try to fix things from the past to make a better future. This is the first book in The Trading Heartbeats Trilogy and I must say it is off to a splendid start.

Wow. Just, wow. What a read! I’m not really a space/sci-fi reader, but holy heck did this book pull me full force and hold me down. Don’t get me wrong, I love sci-fi movies and shows, and now I think I’m addicted to this series. It really pulls you in, and keeps you entranced throughout the whole book. This author did a magnificent job with pulling in her audience. I think I busted this out in a little less than two hours. The romance, the fighting, everything was just spectacular. 5/5, can’t wait for the sequel!!

Fantasy and paranormal story from a new to me author? Yes, I took the chance to read this book even though I hadn’t read the previous books in the series. The author wrote the story in such a way to at least make me feel I needed to keep reading it and I was sucked in!
It didn’t take me long to find magic, paranormal beings, adventure, and so much more. It’s always refreshing to find a book that catches your interest similar to when you were younger and found a book that changed your favorite genre. I wish I had read the earlier books so I knew more of the characters we encountered in this book. I’m looking forward to some day getting that chance to read these books in order.

This is the first book in the Space Force Rejects Series and wow! What a start! It’s a relatively short read but this is not one you want to pass up on. With a paranormal romance and sci-fi mix, this story really steps up the game of the genre.
Ravenna is a strong female lead who answers to no one. She has found the true love of her life but when tragedy strikes, everything she knew abruptly changes. Dravos has plans to avoid prison at all costs, yet the mission turns into a life-changing moment when he finds his fated mate…who is in love with someone else. With everything turning against them, will they be able to team up and save each other, or will it all unravel before their eyes?
I love both science fiction and paranormal romance, so this was a home run for me. I am excited to see what the rest of the series brings. Pick this up for a quick peek into the beginning of this amazing world!

Can I say I wish I lived in a universe that has fated mates lmao. I think it would be awesome. I Love the pov swaps. It helps you understand Dravos and Ravenna’s feelings and what’s going through their heads.I hope the author Landra Graf writes more in this sci-fi universe. She has given us a very tantalizing, one of a kind take on an alien love story. I’m glad I took the time to read it, I only wished it was longer. This is the first book in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy, and it grabbed my attention from the beginning. A cute but dramatic who-will-she-choose story that will have you second-guessing yourself with every new piece of information.
Mavis and Joshua were high school sweethearts that felt their love was once in a lifetime. But when Mavis ended up pregnant, she kept it a secret from Josh and ran away to make sure he didn’t throw away his promising future for her. She confided in Josh’s twin brother, Austin, but things did not stay platonic as they crossed a boundary that had dire consequences. After many years of the twins being in her past, how will she overcome this love triangle without breaking hearts?
I enjoyed the flow of the story and had a hard time predicting what would happen next! I recommend picking this up for anyone who loves romances and love triangles.
This is an adorable book. It is a beautifully written story. A lesson and learning hidden in an entertaining way for children. I read it with my year old. He also loved the story. This is definitely a story I will be reading again and again.

Curse of the Elf Lord is the second book in the Kingdom of the Elf Lords series. I highly recommend reading these books in order, as there is a lot you will miss otherwise. This was a quick, but very steamy, sci-fi adventure! I thought the author did a great job of balancing the relationship between Ravenna and Dravos while adding a sense of realism to the sci-fi piece. It was full of adventure and excitement, the story definitely drew me in from the start and I couldn’t put the book down. The story had plenty of twists, right up to the end, and definitely kept me guessing what would happen next. The author did a fabulous job of creating a whole new universe that was well thought out and planned. It looks like this is book 1 to a new series and I am excited to see how it turns out and where the characters go from here.

Wow what a great read, I was totally surprised as this is a new author to me and I was not sure what to expect….I love a good Sci Fi Romance and I loved Ravenna and Dravos!!
Ravenna is just a strong, kick butt Captain who is all about finding her love after going missing on a mission aboard the Perseus. She does not hold back and bold, which I love about her. When Ravenna is on a rescue mission she also find herself in the confines of Dravos Trax. Dravos is “dangerous”…..or is he? Many people believe that Dravos and his fellow Hirudians are dangerous. Dravos is a prisoner, poked, prodded and experimented on…and was included to be on the mission with Ravenna to help find the Perseus…but what happens when Ravenna, Dravos and the team find the Perseus… Fated mates, betrayal, survival, attraction….I loved Ravenna and Dravos and this story! I am so looking forward to see what is next!

This story is so sweet, so heart breaking, and so full of love. The main characters Joshua and Mavis, young sweethearts faced with life altering situations, making life changing decisions. Except those decisions are only made by Mavis. After being separated for years, these two come back together and secrets are shared. Secrets that could destroy Joshua and everything he ever loved, including Mavis.
I love this story. I love the way it is written. The author sure didn’t hold anything back. I love that second chance romances exists.

When Jemma tries to bring down the Freemasons on the misguided belief that they had something to do with the death of her father, she crosses paths with the leader of the local lodge, Dominic. This is really a very interesting book. The second in the series,it will take you back into the center world on another unknown adventure with our travelers. Travel to a place of mystery, a little adventure, a bit of solitude and a lot of sand. Maybe you’ll run into AI? I found the story to be engaging in spots yet a little dry in others. I enjoyed reading about the travels into the unknown world. At other times, I sort of felt like it was some type of video game. It also felt like maybe, a warning. Could we face this on our Earth? Fiction or could there also be a little message in the story. It left me thinking about what i read, which is good. I can’t wait for the next adventure.

This is the first book I have read by Heidi Vanlandingham, and I was not disappointed. The way the author mixes Norse Mythology, with American History captures the reader from the first page. Bernard is a World War two veteran that lost everything in the beginning of the war that he loved, his wife and young children. Alva is a Huldra that was cast out along with her sisters when she was young.
Bernard thinks of only one thing when Freyja brings him back to life, why was he brought back and how can he get his family back. When he questions Freyja on why he has been brought back she tells him that his dear friends initially asked but that she had the final choice. He had not completed his true purpose, she questions him about his family, parents, siblings. Something about him seemed familiar but she couldn’t place it but vowed she always figures it out eventually. Alva was taken in by her father after her mother the Queen of the Huldra kicked her and her younger sisters out when she found new love. Now an adult Alva goes to visit her mother but is captured by the fiercest of her cousins, Maya. With the wrong actions but a worthy purpose Alva is held captive by her cousin for nine days before she is rescued by Freyja and her partner. For years the Huldra have been withering away due to lack of their primary source of energy, the life-force from males. Bernard can’t explain it but when he looks at his spy partner Alva, she helps him feel lighter, happier touching her cheek for a moment without thinking before disappearing after her rescue. Bernard set on bringing his family back to life puts odds between him and Heimdall. Alva is the voice of reason within the Huldra castle searching for peace amongst her family. Two actions set a new history in motion, with an outcome no one would have predicted, and why does Bernard see Alva’s face the moment he starts the new path. This book had me craving more, the mixture seemliest meddling together into something amazing. Heidi builds an amazing world and the characters equally amazing. I cannot wait to read the next book Curse of the Elf Lord.

Years later Josh gets divorced and decides he wants Mavis back. Then he finds out his twin brother knows where Mavis is and known for years. The message of this book is no matter how much time has passed or what has been done true love doesn’t judge and forgives.
This was my first book by Landra Graf so I really didn’t know to expect. It was short but full of adventure. The characters are well developed and the world was very thought out. The bond between Ravenna and Dravos made me hope for the best for them. I will definitely be continuing to read this series!

This book really brought on the wow factor as well as the blow your mind factors as well! I was intrigued all the way through! The story had a mix of everything, I cant say it was one specific genre. And those specific words made this book all more appealing. I simply must say I was amazed and fascinated as I read!
The writing was spot on, and the author knew how to draw the reader in and hold them there to the final word on the final page. The horror side of this story really appealed to me, but then we got into some sci-fi elements, and my mind was blown. Personally the author notes of thoughts after each conclusion of a chapter, was a welcoming touch. I enjoyed reading the author’s thoughts as to why it was written how it was. The characters were great, realistic, and certainly had strong character development, but Dex really was well written. Family man, supports his family, but when danger strikes, he steps up and does whatever he must. The book was a tornado of events and emotions! I could not put this one down Freaking loved it!
I cannot say good enough things about this book or the talented author. You must experience my recommendation for yourself. Highly recommend. A must read for sure-to both the author and book!

I enjoyed reading this fantasy story. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. I enjoy her writing style as well as her attention to details that make her stories realistic. This book is no different. This is a well written story about finding a mate but the problem is the mate is in love with someone else. Now facing the problem of trying to convince the mate that you are their destiny. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. There is a little bit of everything in this book and you don’t want to miss it. The characters are connectable and made the story for me. They have great growth as well as the growth of the plot throughout the story. An engaging story that I highly recommend. Find out if the two mates get their happy ending.
