A contemporary romance which had me hooked from the beginning to the very last page. Written from both of the main characters, Malerie and Ace’s point of view this was an enjoyable and engaging read. Malerie has unluckily faced death twice but has luckily also escaped death twice. Once at the age of seven when she was left an orphan but was the only survivor of a bombing and then on her eighteenth birthday when her much loved guardian was killed by a crazed gunman. Now someone is out to kill Malerie and she suspects that there may be more to her previous survival than just luck. Bodyguard Ace is being paid to guard Malerie however she soon turns out to be more than just another client to him and he vows to protect her. Ace is surprised when the feisty girl he has to protect actually ignites feelings in him that he did not know existed but he soon fears that although he will do anything to protect her he might loose his heart to her. Malerie knows that although Ace is her first love he might also be her last if the unknown person out to kill her succeeds.
I loved Malerie and Ace as they were both well defined characters who were realistic and relatable. The chemistry between them really came across and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. The author has a way of making the reader care about the characters through her detailed descriptions of both them and their feelings. The storyline flowed easily and the plot has plenty of action and suspense in it along with the romance. I found this to be a fairly fast paced story and the narrative took me on an emotional rollercoaster as I found myself immersed in Malerie and Ace’s world. A five star read and one which I found hard to put down!

The Lies Between Us: A Psychic Romantic Suspense by Cynthia Cooke is the fourth book in the Deafly Secrets series. This is a fast paced and exciting book that really keeps the pages turning. I found that once I had started this book I had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order to get the full build up however it can be read as a stand-alone. The chemistry between Cat and Tom was great to see – especially given they had been married for so long. I thought they made a strong couple and made the story even better. This is a great book and one that I definitely enjoyed reading!

Key to Tirumfall is the exciting, emotional and gripping third and final book in Brumbaugh’s ‘The Tirumfall Trilogy’. The three books do need to be read in series order to gain the most understanding and enjoyment from them. This is another epic fantasy adventure by J Drew Brumbaugh which is set in a fantasy world “of wizards and dragons, swords and demons, and power and war amidst love, friendship, and family loyalty”. Isabella has always been told that she is the child of prophecy by the demon lord who has raised her but she’s not! Gwen is the real child of prophecy, however she does not know that she is. Gwen has grown up with her adoptive parents and brother Seth and has been taught the art of wizardry. Both Gwen and Isabella set off on separate adventures which lead them both to the Tower at Tirumfall, a mysterious tower that is said to hold the secrets of the greatest wizards, and towards each other. Both of their journeys are dangerous and fraught with setbacks that will threaten their lives and test their relationships. The big question throughout the book is who will be able to unlock the mysterious Tower at Tirumfall which has been sealed for thousands of years and if it’s open will it solve anything or make things worse. If its Gwen who gains access to the ultimate magic which is inside how will all that power affect her and the people she loves. This is the mystery which kept me gripped as I read this classic fantasy adventure. I felt totally engaged and immersed in this story due to the authors wonderful world building. I loved the main characters as they are all fascinating and well defined and all bring something different to the story. Brumbaugh’s detailed descriptions and wonderful narrative really make this novel and the trilogy as a whole come alive. Once again the plot is action packed and full of mystery, drama, and suspense which had me hooked from start to finish. A great conclusion to the ‘Tirumfall Trilogy’.

Book Review: Kismet Heart Author: Brinda Berry Four STARS This book is definately something else. Malerie is trying to figure out why bad things keep happening to those around her and now that she is 18 and a legal adult, she doesn’t know what to do. She has been protected and coddled since she was a little girl and now, what happens now. Ace has been hired to increase the security and help protect the naive Malerie. This job is well paying but proving to be a mystery and a dangerous one at that. This book will keep you guessing and wondering what is going on. Good read. KLH

This was a great fast paced story that keeps you gripped from beginning to end.

I loved reading the book The Opposite of Addie: A Novel (Friendship & Secrets) by Julie C. Gardner. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. I loved the characters of Addie and Jake. The story tells the tale of two people who have secrets that are revealed. Will those secrets keep them apart forever? What does the future hold for Addie and Jake? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about Addie and Jake with each chapter that I read. This is a story that has heartbreaking as well as heartwarming moments. Some moments touched my heart and I found myself thinking about the book even after I had finished the final page. The story is brilliantly written, and the author does a wonderful job in making the characters come alive. Shattered Snow by Rachel Huffmire a captivating five-star read. When I read the description of how the author came up with this story, it intrigued me and made me wonder, then I read the story and it made me wonder so much more. The descriptions are so good, you can depict everything, nothing is left out. It cold have been so crazy and not clear when you encompass a fairy-tale and time travel but the author has done a great job of pulling all of the characters together and the settings together and having them bob and weave together creating a story that just captures your imagination. It can get a little confusing if you are easily distracted, but if you keep going with it, it is such a great story.

Kismet Heart by Brinda Berry a fantastic five-star read. This is number one in the Surviving Love series and I can’t wait to survive more. Malerie could have come across so differently, but Brinda Berry made her feel so real, you could feel her pain, her confusion and her loss. But despite all that she has this way about her that sucks you in and shows you her strength and spark, shows you that she is a woman not the child that tragedy happened too, she may enjoy her own company and shy away from others but who wouldn’t give her circumstances, but will she be able to open up to the right people? Ace brings something extra to the story as well, he shows us a different side of strength and adds more mystery to the story, this was a great romance and one that will keep you on your toes.

I loved reading the book Key to Tirumfall (The Tirumfall Trilogy Book 3) by J Drew Brumbaugh. It is an exciting and entertaining story that had me hooked from the very beginning. This book is part of a series and I believe should be read in order so that you can fully understand what is happening. I loved reading about the characters of Isabella and Gwen. Isabella is someone who has been told she is something she is not. She is a girl who is intelligent and when up against conflict does her best to survive. Gwen is a girl who is confident, intelligent and independent. What does the future hold for Gwen and Isabella? The Tower of Tirumfall is said to hold great magic. It has always remained sealed. What will happen if it is unlocked? This is a story that had me turning pages wondering what will happen next. It is a fantasy story that takes you on an amazing journey. There are wizards, soldiers, magic, action, and danger. I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. Many of the characters have been brought forward from the first two books and I enjoyed reading more about them. This is an author who knows how to write an amazing story that comes alive. Don’t miss out on reading this book. I highly recommend it.

The History of the Universe by Stuart Ledwith a mystifying five-star read. This popped up on my feed after a friend read it, and I have read the author previously so even though I don’t normally read any novels about religion I decided to give it a go as I enjoyed the concept and the thought provoking aspect as I always like to learn and discover new things, and I really do feel that I did that with this one. It may not be your typical read, but if you are after a change of pace, maybe a palate cleanser book, pick this up and expand your mind, its given me thought especially right now and that was something I was missing at the moment. The authors style is well put together and you can tell that they have checked the pace and flow of the story, there isn’t the issues I normally find with this type of story. Overall definitely one I will be recommending to many.

Thunder on the Moor by Andrea Matthews a far-away four-star read. This was my first read by this author and I would like to try them again as I enjoyed the descriptiveness of the story so much, but at times the actual story left me cold. It was very much all or nothing, I was so encapsulated for a couple of chapters and then a chapter that didn’t hold me and took me so long to read, then back to eagerly turning the page, if it was one chapter I would think it was me, but it happened later as well, I felt like if I could chop a couple of bits it would have been five-stars.

Excellent box set. I really enjoyed these different stories and that there were many authors that contributed. I had three top favorites, One Night With A Knight by Aidy Award, 44th & Blue by Jodi Payne and Courtney by Jayce Ellis. The first book because I enjoy a curvy woman finding her true love, and the second two because I drool for MM romance.
In One Night With A Knight, I love that the story is about a plus sized woman Camila, who is a cook and she meets her love from high school again as an adult. Hudson never got over his first love and with a chance meeting with her again at a club, he will not let her go this time. The story shows Camila struggling at a one point with someone calling her big and how her man came to her defense, my heart broke for her but Hudson was there and is all for the curve!
44th & Blue, After meeting Ben, Cole wants nobody else, he can’t stop thinking about Ben. Ben feels the same way but when Ben moves to his new office and realizes Cole is the one working on the offices, he is terrified of mixing business with pleasure. At one point my heart fell thinking Ben was about to be a big jerk and leave Cole, but he bounced back with a nice apology and finally toughened up and realized he wanted Cole in his life.
Courtney, It is so cute that both men in this book have “female names”. This one touched a little on how Courtney was away from his family for a long time because his dad could not accept that he was gay, showing that his dad finally came around. It is sweet that Tracey hasn’t full come to terms with his sexuality and a push from his brother’s boyfriend and the insistence of a date from Courtney opens that door wide open for him.
I have to say, this is my fav so far from CA King. I was immediately drawn into Super Sorry. From the gorgeous and eye catching cover to the fantasy world within that comes alive off the pages as you read. This is one of those you will wanna set aside a few hours so you can read this in one fell swoop. If you like it half as much as I did that will be too easy to do. I loved the way this book layered fantasy with real life in a way that makes the lessons easy to catch but still interesting and fun to read. Sarah is one awesome main character and she was fun to watch grow throughout the story. We find her as she discovers that she has abilities that she has no idea how to use. The journey she takes will have you laughing and cheering for her as she finds her way in this new and magical world. I can’t wait to see what we will get next from CA King!
Shattered Reality (Summoned Book 1) by C.A. King. This is a wonderful fantasy read. It is basically the retelling of the old fable Medusa & Perseus. Medusa Black is a very successful psychiatrist who has left her estranged family behind her to move to Knollville and her families aging rundown mansion. While in Knollville Medusa meets Perry P a private investigator who is handsome and a bit strange. Medusa doesn’t have great memories of growing up in this mansion because her family believed in all sorts of magic and creepy stuff. The house has always been something she never wanted any part of after leaving. But after her parents death she is here. Perry P is hired by a a mysterious client and he figures he should help Medusa figure out the secrets of the old mansion because it could help them both. The chemistry between them is not expected by either. This book is full of secrets, magic and suspense. Such a page turner. Do yourself a favor and read Shattered Reality today!
I absolutely love to read about fae and shifters. When I read this book, Mira and Cadoc had this energy that I just wanted to keep reading. Cadoc, knowing what his wolf is telling him. Wondering if they will be able to save their kingdoms and be together as true mates. This book has romance, shifters, fae, drama, steamy true love, and of course an exciting adventure that is just waiting for you to dive in.

Shattered Reality is the first book in the Summoned Series. I absolutely loved, loved , loved this book. I’ve read other books by this author but I must say this is my favorite yet . From the moment I started reading till the end I was lost in the pages. This author gives us a completely new spin of Medusa and Perseus. Her attention to detail makes you feel like you are part of the story. Get ready to be taken on quite the ride. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say I highly recommend reading this book and you wont be disappointed. I can’t wait for what’s next.

The Fire God Tour (Moore Family Saga #3) by Michele Sims was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
Miles is a hip hop mogul known as “Ari” and at the top of his career. Bella works in marketing for Miles. The more that they work together the more they start to notice each other and their attraction to each other. Bella is very good at her job and impresses Miles even if he gave her the nickname Ice Queen.
Can these two have more than a working relationship? Will Miles help Bella get over her fear of fire?.
Overall I really enjoyed this read. Bella was great, she is smart and determined with the exception of being afraid of fire. Miles (Ari) pulled me right in and I really liked him. The author pulls you in with her writing and you feel like you’re right there with the characters. If you’re looking for a great romance read with a hot rocker than 1-click and get started today.

This is the first book by King that I’ve read. It won’t be my last as I loved this book. If you like paranormal and romance then this is for you.

Quinn has been given the editor job within a World Tripping Magazine and maybe this is the role he has been looking for, until on his first day in walks the girl who he has not been able to stop thinking about since the chance meeting on the train, the only problem is he is the one is bitter towards for taking her job.
As the story continues through you get to see the relationship between they and what can blossom into beautiful partnership. The story is well developed story with brilliantly characters. I love the way the story takes its turns and from enemy to lovers is always a great story.
The chemistry builds and will have you turning the page to see what happens, although it is a bit predictable in the narrative it is a great story.

I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. There was something that grabbed me and I’m glad it did. Ms. Anders is a new to me author, so I wasn’t sure what her writing style was and was happy from the very beginning with her style. I tend to lean towards the funny and sarcastic characters and Sydney was definitely one of those.
I loved the way Sydney and Quinlan meet, there is something charming and sort of realistic about the scenario. I think of all of the supporting characters Kady was my favorite. I mean who could not love someone who is in the Marvel.
I look forward to browsing through Ms. Anders other books and reading more by her. If any are half as enjoyable as this one i know I will enjoy every moment

This is the first book I’ve read by Anders. I’ve got to say this was a great read. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book within a setting. It was hard to put down.
Sidney, aka Sid, is a designer who doesn’t get the time to present her presentation. She gets it all off her chest after a few drinks. Then they get a new boss. The quote I chose for Sidney is: “And then, our new Editor in Chief steps out on stage and it’s Prince F***ing Charming!”

Love Surreptitiously by Tarrah Anders was a wonderfully sexy and fun contemporary romance. I always enjoy Ms. Ander’s books, and this one was no different- it is definitely one of my favourite reads by her. From an unexpected encounter on a train, as Sydney vented about her job to a handsome stranger- Sydney and Quinn could have never predicted how their worlds were about to collide. Secret and steam. This is an office romance with all ingredients to make a fun read. Looking forward to more from Ms. Anders in the near future…

Can not believe that this series is coming to an end. I think back to all the stories I can remember and it gets a little confusing along the way. I read them out of order and although each is a standalone I would highly recommend starting at the beginning.
This is not my chosen genre but found myself interested enough to complete each one, this one might have been my favorite of all of them and I think it’s because I could relate to Clíodhna more being a Mom and even though different time frames in history, I could feel the strength that she had to pull from to make some of the choices she was forced to make. I can’t imagine.
This was an awesome end to this series, and I do hope someday to go back and read them again from the start. This author’s ability to describe the scenes and the scenery many times had me feeling like I was there, and made me want to visit these places.
I can imagine if this is your chosen genre that this series would absolutely be sitting at the top. I can say that this author has an amazing way of telling a story and I will continue to follow her and her future writings.

I thought this book was an awesome one. It was my first book by this author but it will not be my last. I thought it was well written and it pulled me in from page one. The main charcters are what made this story really good for me. They were relatable, awesome and hot hot hot! This book had some twists and turns and that just make me like it even more and kept me turning page after page. All of the romance and mystery and magic came together in this awesome story and I cannot wait to read more by this author! I would recommend this to a friend! Happy Reading!
This book was a quick read for me. I found the story to be fun and romantic. Sidney decides to go have a few drinks after having a really bad day. She finds herself telling all her woes to a stranger she meets on the train. Quinlan is Sidney’s new boss and as it turns out is the same man she met on the train when she was drunk. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. There are some hurdles for these two that they have to overcome in order for their relationship to work. I enjoyed this story and read it in one sitting. I recommend this book if you want to find out what happens between these two wonderful characters.

Reading Shattered Reality was quick and enjoyable. C.A. King takes you to a place that gives the mind a little shake. Making you question your reality. Could everything really be as it is or is it a mirrored image of a different reality. I really liked the spin with the mirrors and magic. The fact that Mudesa didn’t believe in any of it gave the story a kick. I really enjoyed the plot. The story had a really nice flow and no sidetracking. I did find it annoying that she didn’t believe magic for so long with everything happening around her. Perry is a creepy character for me. The way he appeared through the story. Then you find out why and the pieces fall into place. I also like that I couldn’t figure out the story line from the start. Like I said it’s a good read with a little magic.
