Love is What you Bake of it by Effie Kammenou a five-star feast of a read. This is the first novel in the Meraki series and my first by this author, and I will be eager to read the rest of the series as this one did have a couple of dips and undercooked bits, but overall was a nice solid and sweet bake and left a lovely after reading taste. Kally was a great character, I immediately warmed to her and loved her aprons and the café, you could almost smell the coffee beans in the air. The Coffee Klatch just sounded like a great place to be, and Max well he sounded like the kind of man you could be proud of in his amazing uniform, even if he doesn’t feel like people should be proud of him. This was a great story and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into number two to see what flavour that one will be.

A Study In Spirits by Byrd Nash a five-star show stealing read. This is number two in the College Fae Magic series, and flows well from the first novel and just continues with the great story. There is something special about the characters in this story, I like how we have many of the same characters as the first story, but some new to keep it fresh, the characters have such depth to them they will surprise you. The whole premise of this story is one that brings a fresh look at the genre, this really is a great story, there are some great friendships shown despite the differences between characters, its nice to see the difference shown and overcome. I enjoyed the flashbacks in this story, they just added another layer to the story. If you enjoy a good story and a bit of fantasy, then you won’t go wrong reading this series.

Black Blade by Alexander Charalambides a cutting four-star read. This was my first read by this author and I hope it wont be the last as I enjoyed the writing style, there was action a plenty and magic and fun to keep the story going, it really did manage to keep a pace well. Its told by several POV’s and that was one thing I struggled with, as I couldn’t keep up, but to be honest it could be me and the place I am in right now, so give it a go and see what you think. The one thin I did really enjoy was fate/destiny story added something special as its always something that has attracted me. The characters are well developed, and the story is good, so dig in and enjoy.

Cade is the drummer of Default Distraction, and he is the son of a mafia boss. This complicates his life just a little bit. A.S. Roberts does an amazing job keeping this bad boy under control. Roberts’ characters all have their own little fire within themselves. That is what makes her stories attractive and keeps the reader want to keep reading to see what will be coming next. Winter is the younger sister of the lead guitarist and she doesn’t want anything to do with anyone. It is a good thing that Cade goes for what he wants and nothing gets in his way. I highly recommend this story as well as the first two books in this series. You will want to see what happens between Cade and Winter.

I enjoyed this romance book. It is a story about two people who are interested in finding out more about each other but have hidden secrets that could change things. This is a well written story that kept me turning pages to the end. I enjoyed being pulled in right from the beginning by the characters. They made the story feel real and brought the story to life. I had no problem connecting with them. I enjoyed their chemistry together which made their story easy to read. I don’t regret picking up this book and neither will you. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this dystopian romance book. It is not a book I would normally pick up but I am glad that I did. It has everything you would hope for in a good book from romance to action and set in the future. It is a well developed story that has characters that not only brought the story to life but also stick in your heart. I had no problem connecting to these characters and they certainly kept me reading to the end. Thea has balls, family and her friends to keep her days busy. But what will happen when things go bad? Is there only one person who can save things? Will she see that there is so much more to human nature than what she is used to? This is a great story that pulled me in from the beginning. I highly recommend reading this book to find out how things turn out for Thea.

This is my first book by Kaylin Peyerk. I really like the YA Paranormal Romance genre. It is one of mystery and can really be good or sadly it can be bad. High Fae Academy is great. The character building is intriguing. I found the characters were complex and individually cemented in the story. Tiana, the main female character, is a powerful half-human/half fae. She can command all the elements and each one of the guys who are trying to court her command one element. This makes it tough trying to decide which one to be with. What is a girl supposed to do? Let us not forget to mention that there is a little prophecy about Tiana. I highly recommend this book. You will want to read it to see how Tiana does with all that is going on with her.

High Fae Academy – Year One: Fae Paranormal Romance by Kaylin Peyerk is a sweet paranormal romance story that is a reverse harem. I am a fantasy paranormal lover and like them done well. Kaylin has done well with this first book but I wanted to see more character building as I couldn’t quite grasp a relationship with them and who they were/are. It also felt a little rushed in the start and did simmer down and I was able to fall into this intriguing story. Our Heroine suddenly finds her world turned upside down as she is drawn into the world of paranormal and suddenly attracted to five fae and not knowing how to deal with it all.
I look forward to reading the rest of the series as I can see Kaylin growing with it.

My goodness the tension and drama in this is just off the charts, it will keep you guessing and nicely hot all the way through, Larkin Ashford is a wonderful character, there was just this wonder about her, there is just something about her, she will surprise you, she puts her everything into business, but maybe she shouldn’t. Your heart will jump with lark her story is so palpable. I cant wait for the next story in this series.

Holding Out For You by Anna Paige a five-star read you don’t want to hold out for, you need to get reading. I have loved reading this author before, but this one just went to the next level, I was an emotional wreck after reading this one, I was so emotionally invested in this story, I felt like it was a part of the equation. Be warned that when you start this story, you will not be able to put it down for nothing, I didn’t even get up to refill my wine glass I was so into this story. Ashton Hunter and Blair Martell will make you feel their passion, heat and pain they will wring every emotion out of you and make you feel each and every word of the page. Saga and if you like a paranormal YA story then you won’t go wrong with this one, it has a little something for everyone. Miri is a great character and one that will take you along with her on her journey. What a journey that it is, after a life of secrets and reveals she will wow you with her strength. After loosing her Omama she could just give up, but she doesn’t, the silver charm keeps her stronger than she can imagine in more ways than she can imagine as well. All I can say is bring on number two, I needs more Partnership in my life.

This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first book. One of the things I enjoy about this author’s writing is how she creates details that make me feel as if I am part of the story. I have no problem connecting with the characters. If you have not read the first book, I highly suggest it as it will help get to know the characters more. The lovable Dylan is back in this story and headed to New Orleans this time. She is dealing with vampires and this time we add voodoo and curses to it. Dylan is still my favorite with the sassy attitude and humor it really just makes her a well rounded character. I highly recommend this must read book and this series.

This is a new age adult story that I loved from the beginning until the last page. This is an author that is fast becoming one of my go to when I need a good romance story This is a well written story that has characters that are full of heart and they make the story realistic. Blair’s brother’s best friend, Ashton, has been a person that she cannot stand as they were growing up. Ashton has always thought of Blair as a bratty and complicated. Now that they are adults, this could change everything for them. With hidden feelings, could the hatred for each other really be something more? I loved the banter and chemistry between them. They made the story flow into what this story is, a real page turner. I highly recommend their story, you won’t regret picking up this book.

Rune (Anna) is hiding in plain sight, after her and her husband were caught for embezzlement. Rune inherited a magical bar from her late Aunt and she hides her powers under the ruse that all spells are her late aunts doing. Then along come St Benedict and her whole world turns upside down. I truly enjoyed this story it captivated me from the beginning, such a unique tale that will have you guessing throughout. I would highly recommend.

Hail Mary kept me enthralled until the very end. It s the first book that I have read from this author and definitely won’t be the last. Hope Anika is an excellent writer who can easily weave multiple plots into one captivating story. Filled with mystery, romance and characters you’ll fall in love with, this is a romantic thriller that you don’t want to miss.
Wynn is a snarky, independent woman who, given her past, doesn’t trust anyone. She owns a farm with a boarding house. Her tenants are all elderly and she cares for them as if they were family. Trying to keep her head above water, she cares for them the best that she can.
Beau is a former DEA agent. After getting seriously injured and losing his wife, he returns to the county and becomes the new sheriff. Realizing that the bank was robbed by one of Wynn’s tenants, he meets the headstrong and beautiful woman. Sparks fly and the chemistry is electric. Meanwhile a serial killer strikes again and shoots fear into the hearts of the people. Beau has his plate full all while trying to battle his demons.
The author managed to keep me guessing until the end. It’s not often that I can’t figure out who done it. The story captivated me with its unique characters, suspense and humour. I definitely recommend this book.

This was a cute story by Effie Kammenou. Her plot line is great and she paints a picture with her descriptive details. Her characters are sound and complex. I feel like I am right there with Kally. It is funny to read about the character family members and how they are meddlers. Kally is a successful woman. Then Max comes into her bakery. Her life is a little more difficult now that Max has come into her bakery. I recommend you read this story to find out about Kally’s decision.

K.L. Montgomery always has the best plot lines and characters. I am never disappointed when I pick up her books. Her characters are complex and many layers go into their personas. They are so real and I personally feel like I am in the story with them.The plot line is one that could happen in everyday life. To be honest that is one reason why I love reading K.L. Montgomery’s books. Who can honestly say that they did not fall for a music man? Even if it was just a crush. Jack’s story is just that. He is a musician man but also a single dad. Claire is that girl. She just had a milestone birthday and has fallen for her “Music Man”. What will become of the relationship with Jack and Claire? I highly recommend you reading this story to find out.

This is the first book in this author’s new series, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I have read other books by this author but this one is my favorite. Jane and her friends went on a girl’s trip that turned out differently than what she expected. She meets Ethan who is a vampire that thinks she is his former love and he turns her. But now she is faced with figuring out how to be a vampire to get her license before it turns deadly for her. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I enjoyed these characters. They made the story feel realistic and I had no problem connecting with them. The chemistry between Jane and Ethan was great. What will happen between Jane and Ethan?

This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite. It is a sweet second chance romance that is written with lots of heart and soul. The characters are well developed and made the story feel realistic. I had no problem connecting with them and could easily see them as friends. Kally has loved and lost, now she feels she is unworthy of love until he walks into her life. Content with her business, she wonders about Max and if he is worth it all? I enjoyed watching them grow together throughout the story plus their chemistry is great. Will Kally take a risk at love again? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with them.

Effie Kammenou is a believer that it is never too late to chase your dreams, follow your heart, or change your career. She is proof of that. Instead, she worked in the optical field for 40 years while raising her two daughters.
In 2015, three years after the death of her mother from pancreatic cancer, she published her debut novel, Evanthia’s Gift, book one in a women’s fiction, multigenerational love story and family saga, inspired by her mother and her Greek heritage. Kammenou continues to pick her father’s brain for stories of his family’s life in Lesvos, Greece, and their journey to America. Her interview with him was published in the nationally circulated magazine Reminisce.
Evanthia’s Gift: Book One in The Gift Saga was a 2016 finalist in the Readers Favorite Book Awards. Waiting for Aegina: Book Two in The Gift Saga was awarded finalist status in the 2019 International Book Awards and Chasing Petalouthes, the last book in the trilogy, had also placed in the Readers Favorite Book Awards for the 2018 contest.
Her latest novel, the first book in a new contemporary romance series, is now complete. Love is What You Bake of It, follows Kally’s path to independence despite her sometimes stifling family and her tumultuous road to finding love. But it wouldn’t be a Kammenou novel without a delve into the past, or the references to mouth-watering foods.
Effie Kammenou is a first-generation Greek-American who lives on Long Island with her husband and two daughters. When she’s not writing or posting recipes on her food blog, aptly named cheffieskitchen, you can find her entertaining family and friends or traveling for ‘research.’
As an avid cook and baker, a skill she learned from watching her Athenian mother, she incorporated traditional Greek family recipes throughout the books for a little extra ‘flavor.’
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts from Hofstra University.
