This is my first Thia Finn book but it definitely will not be my last! This was so well written! I was immediately drawn in and absolutely fell in love with Emmy and Alex! Well, maybe not so much with Alex but I definitely grew to love him! LOL!
Who doesn’t dream of meeting their rock star crush??? But what happens when you do meet them, more than once, and they don’t remember you at all? You’ve spent years between meetings pining away for a guy your 16 year old self fell in love with just to find out you meant nothing to them. Just a blip on their rocker radar! This is the life of Emmy. Now hardened to men. Even when she meets a great guy, she can’t totally fall because of how devastated she was by her past.
Alex, super hot, typical rocker…a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Now he’s trying to get himself together and finds himself face to face with Emmy, who he still doesn’t remember but who he is completely drawn to. Problem now is not just that Emmy has hardened herself to him, but that she is now also taken!
This was such a great story! I loved following along through the lives of Emmy, Alex, and the rest of Alex’s band! 5 Stars for Before The Second Show! I am looking forward to more from this author!

The Jakes Wolfe series by Mark Nolan is an exciting and fast paced series that will definitely keep you reading from beginning to end. This box set includes the first three books of the series and, if you haven’t read them already, it is a great way to introduce yourself to it. The series follows Jake Wolfe, the intriguing and utterly fascinating protagonist who is sure to draw you in to the books and not let you go. Each of these books had a great story. None of them relied on one of the others to keep the pace and developed. They are all great books on their own. Once I had started this series I really struggled to put it down. The stories were all so exciting – the story lines were amazing and I love reading about Jake! For any fan of this genre I would definitely recommend giving these books ago!

I loved this book! I have been fortunate to read a few books by this author so I knew that Landing the Lawman was going to be a good read and as expected I wasn’t disappointed! It was a fantastic western romance that had me turning the pages to find out just what was going to happen next. I loved Carter and Logan – she was a fantastic female lead, independent but also with a small side to her that did want a man to sweep her off her feet and romance her! Enter Logan! He may have been married to his career but there was no doubting the instant attraction between him and Carter when they met. I know that he definitely had my heart racing a few times!!! This is the fifth book in the Hills of Texas series and can be read as a standalone but as I had read previous books I loved that characters from them popped up in this one. I would highly recommend reading all if these books! Landing the Lawman was a wonderful romantic read and one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to more from Ms Scott in the future!

Covert Threat is book 5 in the Gray Ghost Series by Amy McKinley. I have read books 1-4 and the prequel and have absolutely loved this series so far and couldn’t wait for Trev to get his own book. I was so looking forward to reading his story and seeing him succumb to a woman’s charms. Amy McKinley sure knows how to write a suspenseful, romantic thriller. As with all books in this series I was gripped by this story and did not want to put it down. In fact I stayed up until about 4am to finish it as there was no way I was putting this book down. In Covert Threat Trev Shaw is hired to shadow biochemist, infectious disease specialist Dr Jules Moretti when she comes under threat whilst working on a top-secret project. The pair met previously and Jules was convinced he was a player so wasn’t interested in him. However, as her life becomes more at risk and more strange things happen to her, she spends more time with him and becomes to know the real Trev she then realises that she misjudged him. I really loved this book. The romance is hot and steamy and the suspense and tension built up by the author is fantastic. Just when you think you might have an idea of what’s going on, then BAM, McKinley throws you a massive curveball. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who likes a romantic thriller. In fact, I would recommend this whole series. The Gray Ghost guys are an amazing bunch and I loved getting to see them again in this book. I hope that Amy McKinley will continue with this series and give the rest of the guys a HEA too.

Taming Zane is the second novel in the Almost Perfect series by Lisa Lanay. This is my first novel by this author.
While on a flight to San Francisco, all Shannon McGregor wanted is a have on her blanket and read a book while having the seat next to her empty. She was not expecting to meet Zane Taylor. Nor was she expecting to spend a night together. Could this be the start of something?
I love this novel so much. I was pulled in from the first page and could just reading. The meeting between Shannon and Zane was so funny especially she is talking to him and knows he isn’t interesting and feels she is embarrassing herself.
Zane is more focused on his career and is not one for relationships but finds himself having feelings for Shannon.
I also loved that Zane was a doctor. I don’t read many romances where one of the main characters is a doctor. I think I am going to change that now and read the first book in this series.
I hope there are more books to come.
For anyone looking for a cute romance, I recommend.

Covert Threat is the fifth book in Amy McKinley’s Gray Ghost series. It is filled with action, romance and is so fast paced that you will not even notice when you have finished it! You will be pulled in from the first chapter and you will keep thinking who why when how … Our couple of the Covert Threat are Jules Moretti, an infectious-disease specialist, and Trev Shaw, a former SEAL and the man trying to keep Jules safe … There is an unknown threat out there and Jules is in danger so Trev is brought in to protect her. There are so many little details that build a big picture that blows you away and all along you will be keeping your fingers crossed that Jules will have the happy ending she so deserves and that the secrets that have been buried deep will see the light of day and not destroy everything and everyone on their way. Even if you pick Cover Threat up as a standalone, you will find out pretty fast that you want to read the whole series! Welcome and enjoy yourself!

“Moonlight shone through my bedroom window and I felt the knowing pull toward the flute hidden in the corner. I’d sensed it a thousand times before and knew exactly what it meant. I had work to do….. As I reached for my flute, magic humming reverberated through my ears, an odd, hypnotic melody that called to me, and me alone. The silver instrument fit perfectly in my hand. It had been a long time since I took the time to admire its design. The metal, and the carvings along the side, were of artisan quality craftsmanship. It was the first gift my father had ever given me. My biological father, Ellyllon—the King of all Fae and Lord of Night.”
Chasing Starlight: Cassandra’s Story is the first book in The Daughters of Night Chronicles by Jennifer Siddoway and Matilda Reyes. I was so excited when I saw this book appear on my recommended book feed, I actually squealed. It held the promise of being a great fantasy- one with such an original premise- so I had a lot of expectation going into the book. Plus, I have read Matilda Reyes other books and have loved them- so I was intrigued by what this collaboration would produce. While the premise was exciting and new- the execution left me wanting, and fairly disappointed. I really wanted to love this book, so hard! I wanted to be swept up in a fantasy that would hold me spellbound from the moment I opened the first page! After all, the synopsis held such great potential. But, for me, there were just too many issues with this book that really detracted from what should have been an enthralling story. I really hate being critical, especially when I know what one of these authors is capable of producing- but there were so many little errors, editing issues, and missed opportunities here, that really let this down. This is definitely not the captivating polished piece I was expecting- a little more editing and a touch of revising- and this story could be amazing. Simple things like spelling mistakes/wrong words, should have been caught in the editing process- but there was also a LOT of repeated information, things we had already been told before coming up again several times through the story and being ‘introduced’ like it was new ‘information’. Then there were fact checking issues- like when Cassandra sets up a classroom (she’s a 3rd Grade teacher) with 20 desks for her students, then on the first day of school she looks out at the smiling faces of 24 students? A character’s name changes from Adam, when we are introduced to him, to Andy/Andrew later in the story- which was confusing. Cassandra has an anxiety disorder, and I applaud the authors for shining a spotlight on mental health issues. But, I felt there was too much emphasis on her anxiety- she spent so much time in her head, over analyzing everything- it became really frustrating and detracted from the story. Especially when her anxiety didn’t affect the actual storyline, or really ‘further’ the story in any way. (I hope I am making sense) The characters were interesting, but lacked the real development and depth that I expected, or experienced the ‘growth’ I thought they would, having gone through what they did. It was a little hard to connect with them. I would like to read the next book, ”Kissing Cupid”, just to see where the series is leading- and hopefully it won’t have the same issues as this book. After all, there are seven sister- so the potential for seven books. That should be exciting…. but more attention to detail (and the overall editing process) will be needed in the future, to really make this series stand out from the crowd. (My ‘Verified Purchase” review can be found on Amazon Australia)

Taming Zane by Lisa Lanay a sweet as sugar five-star read. This is number two in the Almost Perfect series and they are so sweet and loveable that you can’t help but fall for the characters. Zane and Shannon will make you want to bump some heads, but they will even warm the coldest of hearts. Sacrifices need to be made, but will they be able to sacrifice enough for each other? This is a great story and one everyone who needs a little sweetness in their lives needs.

Covert Threat by Amy McKinley a thrilling five-star read. This is number five in the Grey Ghost series and it could be read as stand-alone but honestly, I have read it as a series and loved it as such. This series has just ramped the drama and action up notch by notch. I love that Jules Moretti is such a good character, she is more than just the female lead, she is brains beyond belief and I was reading this one with all the news about an outbreak of a new flu and I was wishing that Jules was real, I am sure there are many people like her, but Jules just had a little extra something. This was a great compliment for the series and number six can’t come soon enough.

The Runaround is the sixth book in the Carolina Connections series by Sylvie Stewart. It is a fun, light-hearted romantic comedy. It may be the sixth book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. But, after reading this book, you will definitely get a taste for Ms. Stewart’s stories, so be prepared to want to go back to read the other books in the series, too. I loved the funny, flirty banter between the characters. It really made the story for me. Jax and Ari certainly give, and get, The Runaround- and I enjoyed following along for the ride. This is a sweet, steamy, funny and very entertaining story. Such a fun read!

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1) by Phoebe Alexander. This author never disappoints me, she’s definitely becoming one of my top favorite authors. Every book draws me in completely and this story was no different. From start to finish I was completely hooked. Sarah and James have a chemistry that jumps off the pages and you find yourself completely lost in their world. Both looking for short term fun times and find themselves drawn to each other. The characters are complex and well developed. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m so excited for book 2 can’t wait to be with these characters again. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

5 Star Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin Sky to Sea is the second book in Crimson Sash series by Amanda Marin. I do recommend reading this series in order as it will give you better enjoyment and help you understand what is going on. I pretty much stayed on a emotional rollercoaster ride throughout this whole book. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. This story is about Micah, and Neve who is trying to prove themselves to gain there citizenship. Something’s are not easy. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next . Find out what happens next. Do they gain there citizenship? What does their future look like? I highly recommend reading this Book and I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Beautiful cover and intriguing synopsis had me adding this to my “hurry and read” list. This author is new to me and I was eager to be introduced what I anticipated to be a highly emotional read.
All of that to say, while I enjoyed the premise and felt myself get invested quickly, I as quickly found myself frustrated with the characters much as I would a friend, wondering why they would do what they did. In that way, I applaud the author for making the characters relate to me on a level that I was invested and questioning them, not sitting removed from the plot not caring what happened next.
Overall, I found it to be intriguing and attention grabbing. I look forward to reading more in the series.

Broken by Love by MJ Masucci was an intriguing second chance romance story to read. I wasn’t sure how I would like it after the synopsis but decided to give it a try. I didn’t become as connected with this story as I have in other books, but I still really enjoyed the book. The main characters of this story are Lexi, Noah and J.C. who were interesting to learn about. The more I read I did find myself unable to put the book down. Would recommend! I am looking forward to the second book.

Jax is a guy who is in it for a good time when it comes to relationships, or in his case, hookups. He works hard and plays just as hard. He’s been hurt enough in life that the best policy is to keep up his walls, no matter what. He loves his work and has been a successful business owner for many years. He enjoys a good roll in the grass, whether it’s a quickie or sculpting! Things are great for him, but then he finds out he has a teenage daughter and everything is a game-changer. Looking for a way to connect with her on some level, he reaches out to Ari, whom he’s been hot for, for some time. He needs her to step in and help, but he doesn’t know what he’s asking for.
Ari is a woman who gets through life by being unabashedly herself. It’s easy to put up similar walls and keeping someone hanging that’s only temporary, so they can’t get settled into her life and screw up the relationships she has with those close to her. Who needs to be in love when you have music, good friends, and a good time? She isn’t afraid to let herself be free and enjoy who she is. Music is a big part of who she is and Jax knows it. She agrees to help him out, but she doesn’t know what she’s getting into either.
Together their love story goes through ups and downs, witty banter, frustrations, attitude problems, desire, laughter, and of course anger are all part of the journey. I loved that with this story there was focus on a single parent and what it takes to uproot your life, change it up and accept changes. I felt for all three of them as they navigated their roles in each other’s lives. Through it all it was incredible to see how hard they fought for each other, they didn’t just roll away and give up. It’s a beautifully written story that holds your attention for a long time!

What a brilliant introduction to this new author. This book had me utterly captivated and hooked from the very beginning. This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions, you feel for all the characters. The characters in this read are real, relatable and each have a connection to each other in a different way. You are brought along on a journey of ups and downs, secrets and betrayal, heartache & steaminess. You cannot deny how captivating this read is, you won’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to see what else this author brings and what reads are to follow!

Broken by Love was a great story! I felt like it was a little rushed in some parts, not what I was expecting from reading the synopsis. Very sweet in some parts, very frustrating in others, it also felt like a story you saw coming, with expected twists. I really enjoyed reading it however, and I can’t wait to read the second novel in the Full Circle series. I haven’t read a novel from MJ Masucci before, and I will definitely read more from her in the future.

This is book 5 of this series and is best to be read in order to get to know the family better. This is Carter’s story, the only girl in her family and how she now has her dream job after leaving a relationship and her job. She works closely with Logan and after a burned relationship he is far from wanting a commitment ever again.
I really loved these two, they balanced each other well. And loved seeing the family again even if the reason they’re all close again wasn’t a good one. I loved watching the changes and relationship bloom here and am so sad this series is now at its end. Ive enjoyed them all.

Sky to Sea (Crimson Sash Book 2) By Amanda Marin. This is the second book in this series and I really think you should read the first one to really get the story. I’m not a huge fan of this genre but I loved this book. Its the story of Neve Hall a strong, independent young woman and Micah Ward a young man that has been thru a lot. They find themselves in the New Republic and think they are home free but in reality they are having to prove themselves worthy of being citizens there. They must convince the Immigration Case Manager that they will be productive citizens to the New Republic. Neve and Micah find themselves at the center of a battle when tensions occur between the New Republic and the Nation. They are kidnapped and held hostage and until the Nation meets their demands they won’t be released and one of the demands is Micah must return! This is a wonderful book that will keep you turning the pages. Read it to find out what happens to Micah and Neve! You will love it!

I got super excited when I saw the second book in the Almost Perfect series form Lisa Lanay was available and one-clicked it instantly. Taming Zane was absolutely ‘almost perfect’ and I loved every single moment I spent with Shannon and Zane. These two were so sweet and had good souls that made them easy to relate to and adore. Shannon is not looking to change up her life but fate brings Zane into her life and makes her question everything. Zane is super surgeon who takes time to help those in need with his plastic surgery skills. These two are absolutely perfect for each other but separated by many miles and time. Will they be able to find a way to make a relationship work, even through extreme long distances? Long distance romances always make for some juicy reading in my opinion so I loved that twist we got here. This book is perfect for a lazy Sunday read and I can’t wait to see what the next one will bring us!

Jake Wolfe Series Bundle Box Set (Jake Wolfe #1-3) by Mark Nolan
4out of 5 stars
Jake Wolfe series bundle box by Mark Nolan is three books in one. This is the only series that I have read by Mr. Nolan and its great but defiantly different from my usual read. I really enjoyed reading about the main characters of Jake Wolfe and his war dog Cody.
Jake is an Attorney by day, assassin by night. He is a young lawyer who leads a secret life. He was trained by the CIA, he now wants peace and quiet, practicing law and living on a boat with his war dog, but of course this doesn’t happen. He gets pulled into all sorts of trouble will he be-able to get out of it? Will he find out who is causing the trouble, or will he still be on the hooks for said trouble? I will just tell you this buckle up for a wild ride as Jake Wolfe and his exceptionally intelligent dog, Cody, rush into action in these page-turning thrillers in Mark Nolan’s bestselling series…. I highly recommend this book/series…. Tracy @tracym

Thia Finn is a new author to me and this book couldn’t have been a better way to be introduced to her writing. I completely enjoyed reading Before the Second Show. This book is a sweet romance that will rock your socks off along the way. Emmy always loved the rockstar life and found it intriguing. Then we have Alex who is immersed in the life and a rockstar himself that has experienced the joys and the trials that come with being famous. These two will cross paths and their lives will never be the same. Will they come out on top with a happily ever after or will they end up alone? I loved how light and easy this book was to read. I found myself devouring it quickly and in pretty much one sitting. I look forward to seeing what else might be available and what will come from Thia Finn in the future.

I won’t lie this is a hard one for me to review. I loved the cover of Broken by Love. It is stunning and who wouldn’t want to know what has to happen between the covers. Other than that I went in completely blind. I have never read anything from MJ Masucci before and I didn’t even really read the reviews or synopsis. Now that I finished the book and I can see I am not the only one who struggled with this novel a tad. I sincerely wanted to love this book and could see where if it was maybe revisited and strengthened it has the potential to be a great 5 star read. As of now its a struggle for me because this is a solid three star read. What I really struggled with was the characters in this story are in desperate need of many things including help and they really none of them should be in a relationship until they do so. It is a toxic situation amongst everyone involved yet I found that the woman makes a lot of excuses for the men who do these things to her. We need more strong and resilient women to read about these days so I struggled to get into it for that main reason. I also just could not see where this book was going. It was choppy and I struggled to find that flow that comes with a good romance read.
The concept is not bad and that is evident but it just needs more. Alexa is our main female lead and we find her starting a new job with the ex from Hades as her boss. Regardless of the fact that Alexa is engaged she still engages the boss and the behavior. Or fiance is a whole other story and he too really could you some cold hard truth and help. I wanted to see these guys end up with all different people by the end of the book. I will make an effort to see if this book has rewrites at some point and to maybe check out some other novels of hers if they are available and see if they are better.

Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) by Sonya Jesus. This book is right up my alley. I love mafia, murder, all that dark dangerous stuff so when I saw this book I knew it was for me. But WOW! It even blew me away. Its all the things a Mafia book should be and more. Its the story of a woman named 327, yes a number. She ended up falling in love with one of the Mob bosses and all she was to him was another notch in his belt. After he had his way with her he ordered her murdered. Breaker the boss’s brother isn’t cut out for this world, he’s too soft, too nice so when he starts trying to help 327 he knows he could go down with her. He helps her escape even after his brother warns him about it. Lyla Vaughn is her name and she knows this is life or death. Will she make it and take down the Mob before they kill her? Read this book for a wild ride! You will love it!

I have really come to love Jacquie Biggar’s sweet romances and this one, The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is, is no exception to the rule. We got such a sweet and heartwarming, and at times also sad story with this one. I really loved the main characters and how they seemed to both remain strong and on equal ground. Holly is our main gal, and honestly super lovable. It is hard when you discover she has a life threatening illness that will send her home and away from the career she loved. Levi is our swoony male lead and once he sees Holly he is reminded of the feelings that he has always had for her but never been able to see to fruition. Will these two get a chance at love before time runs out? Watch for those subtle twists that you won’t see coming but will make perfect sense in the end. I loved this book and I can’t wait to see what will come next from Ms. Biggar!

I simply loved this collection of short and fulfilling modern and adult versions of fairy tales that I loved and adored as a child. Fairy tales are the first stories that I remember and they sparked my love for reading at an early age. It is hard to find books that can make you feel like you are in a far away and magical land, but yet also make it seem so real and vivid that anyone could swear it could happen. When I found out this was a collection of fairy tales I just knew I needed to get my hands on it.
Bryd Nash was a new author to me when I picked this up but now that I have read and loved this so much I just may be a new fangirl. Her writing takes you away to these strange worlds with all the vivid and beautiful words she uses. I absolutely felt like a child full of fascination and wonder as I read. I loved how these stories also pulled in strong women as the leads. Another bonus was the fact that these incorporated modern day times as well.
Every story is wonderful but I truly enjoyed the title story, The Wicked Wolves of Windsor, and it stuck out to me as a favorite. It was the perfect mix of dark and twisty and magical. I can’t wait to see what else is available and what will be to come from Bryd Nash!

THE RUNAROUND: A Single Dad Romantic Comedy (CAROLINA CONNECTIONS BOOK 6) By SYLVIE STEWART
5 Stars
What a perfect title for this book LOL I don’t know if Ive ever wanted to slap 2 people more than the two in this book. They made me laugh, they absolutely ticked me off, and I fell in love with both of them. This author never disappoints, I know as soon as I pick up one of her books that I need to be ready because you never know what will happen next, or what will make you crack up next.
This was an awesome story made even better with the friends and families, it’s been a long time since I read book 5 and I was a bit fuzzy on some of the characters but a lot of it came back and what didn’t, didn’t matter it was still simply amazing!
You can read this as a stand alone with no problem, but trust me when I say the books that come before it are worth every second of your time.
OMG some of the conversations in this book, and the pet names for lack of a better word literally had me dying..
I can not wait for more from all of these characters and after reading this I want to go back now and read the others all over again!
