Covert Threat (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 5) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Covert Threat is book 5 in the Gray Ghost Series by Amy McKinley. I have read books 1-4 and the prequel and have absolutely loved this series so far and couldn’t wait for Trev to get his own book. I was so looking forward to reading his story and seeing him succumb to a woman’s charms.
Amy McKinley sure knows how to write a suspenseful, romantic thriller. As with all books in this series I was gripped by this story and did not want to put it down. In fact I stayed up until about 4am to finish it as there was no way I was putting this book down.
In Covert Threat Trev Shaw is hired to shadow biochemist, infectious disease specialist Dr Jules Moretti when she comes under threat whilst working on a top-secret project. The pair met previously and Jules was convinced he was a player so wasn’t interested in him. However, as her life becomes more at risk and more strange things happen to her, she spends more time with him and becomes to know the real Trev she then realises that she misjudged him.
I really loved this book. The romance is hot and steamy and the suspense and tension built up by the author is fantastic. Just when you think you might have an idea of what’s going on, then BAM, McKinley throws you a massive curveball.
I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who likes a romantic thriller. In fact, I would recommend this whole series. The Gray Ghost guys are an amazing bunch and I loved getting to see them again in this book. I hope that Amy McKinley will continue with this series and give the rest of the guys a HEA too.
