The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar was a good 4 star read.
Roy is a hockey player who needs a little help. During a game his crazy ex made a scene that is causing issues for him on the ice. When his GM tells him to take a break for a couple of weeks he meets Patience, his new PA.
Patience is looking to be a partner and helping Roy could get her what she’s wanted for a long time. She is very sassy and something about her calls to Roy. When she goes with Roy to his cabin they grow closer and they find a new furry friend.
Things take a dangerous twist when Roy’s ex shows up. Can they find her before she does anything to harm them?
Overall this was a good read, I really like Patience and her sassiness. Roy was a hot hockey player. You won’t get any hot and steamy scenes but you can feel their attraction coming off the pages. I wouldn’t mind seeing more from these two as they move forward in their lives. If you are looking for a clean fun romance this is the book for you. 1-click and get started today.

This is a good story that Involves hockey, a feral cat and a crazy ex. All of those elements make for some fun times. I enjoyed Patience she is unsure of herself but doesn’t project that. She appears confident. The connection between these two was extra warm. Those kisses could really have went somewhere if not for that cat. The drama with the psycho ex was scary at how true it could be.
I liked this but I wish there was more. More in-depth characters, more banter with the team and more run ins with her brothers/family.

The Player by Jacquie Biggar is the second book in the Men of Warhawks series. This book is a stand-alone. This book is a highly entertaining book!! More than once I found myself smiling as I was reading about this book. There was just something about the characters that put me in a great mood. I loved reading about them and following them in their journey. The story was well developed and fun. I always enjoy this authors writing style, she has a way of creating a story that has a little bit of everything. I have very much enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Player by Jacquie Biggar a winning five-star read. I adored this story, Jacquie Biggar just pulls it out of the bag, this is number two in the Men of WarHawks series and they can be read as stand-alone as I haven’t read the first, but I will be going back to read it. This was a great red, it was funny, sassy and filled with anticipative drama and just made me smile so much. Roy was someone I warmed to, his psycho ex just pushed me to grow to like him and in the end the way he falls for a certain someone just warmed me up. Patience was someone I warmed to immediately and her family were just the icing on the cake. This is one of those stories that will warm you from the inside and make you smile.

The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar, is the story of Roy who made a bad decision in the female department and now it is affecting his game when this stalker won’t leave him alone. Patience who is a PR person and is hired to make Roy look good after a crazy ex tries to get him back but destroying his game in the process. What neither of them expect is the lengths she will go to and what they find with each other. I really enjoyed this story and would have loved more.

“Celebrate the season of love”. These romantic stories range from fun and flirty to semi-sweet and suspenseful. I enjoyed all the stories in this anthology and was introduced to some new authors as well as some old favourites. I particularly liked ‘Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance’ by Tamara Ferguson, Eve Loughlin and Harry Giordano are teenage survivors and are drawn to each other from the first time they meet. The chemistry between Eve and Harry sizzled off the page. I fell in love with the characters and liked how they had overcome obstacles and survived. Sadly their careers separated them but the love they shared was strong, can they find their way back to their hearts? Although the story touches on some sensitive issues it is all about love and hope and does have a HEA. No spoilers, I recommend the story to find out. The other story which stood out was by Jacquie Biggar, ‘The Player’, this is book 2 of Biggar’s, ‘ Men of Warhawkes’ series about a successful NHL Hockey team. Defenceman Roy Donaldson lives and breathes hockey so when an ex girlfriend turned stalker causes trouble for the team he is not happy. He’s even less impressed when he gets benched and so turns to PA Patience Kennedy for help. In order for Patience to receive a junior partnership she must restore Roy’s reputation, however she thinks Roy is moody and annoying, oh, and very attractive. Roy thinks Patience is sexy but sassy. The chemistry between them shows from their first meeting and grows each time they are together resulting in some steamy scenes. I loved the characters and the storyline flowed nicely. ‘A Little Change of Plans’ by Suzanne Jenkins had lovely characters and a great storyline, Jake falls in love at first sight when he meets rookie firefighter Geri. ‘All Night Long’ by Cynthia Cooke had a unique storyline featuring a Valentine’s party, a fake engagement and a St. Bernard coming to the rescue on a snowy mountain, ending in romance. Susan Jean Ricci’s ‘First Class Flirtation’ features two strangers during a cross-country flight and a argument which leads to a passionate infatuation. I could go on as I enjoyed all the stories as each one was so different and unique it made this anthology as a whole a fascinating read and gave me hours of entertainment reading the stories. I definitely recommend this book.

This anthology series offers the reader eight beautiful and steamy stories. These stories will be fun, charming, flirty and grips the reader. In this witty, whimsical page-turner, it’s filled with wonderful characters. It’s so romantic and some may be tear jerking stories. These stories are original and steamy scenes that’ll peak your interest. Inspirational and unpredictable, this book will have you encouraged and motivated all at the same time. In the first story, we meet two characters drifted apart by the raptures of their lives trials and tribulations. The second story follows the next two characters as they attempt to break down walls and one invites the other in. The third is about a love at first sight story between two other characters. Follow this book as you explore each story in delight as love unfolds in each. This book is like a short film where the characters are all connected but not really connected. This book will have you believing in love and romance all over again.
The Player was a short book/story that I thought would be the same old story of a girl seeing a really cute hockey player then dating but after getting further into it, I loved it. It involved around the world of a hockey player his PR person and a stalker. Roy and Patience are gonna be a great couple and the connection that had from the start, ooo. But overall great read. Can’t wait to read more by Jacquie Biggar.

Two hearts reconnaissance was a great read. And I loved how after everything Harry and Eve had been through in their lives that they were able to find themselves and each other throughout this book. Amy and Issy were so adorable. The relationship between Harry and Eve was amazing with their connection and the hardships they had to face over the years. I couldn’t picture what happened to them happening to me or my siblings but I loved this so much. And it’s all thanks to Tamara Ferguson. I can’t wait to read more.

IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3) this is one of my favorite ways to find new to me authors. I love when they come together and share their love of writing for us readers. Each of these stories brings something unique to the collection I found myself completely lost in each individual story world the authors created. Each one has something different to offer readers and as a whole they all had me completely hooked. The characters are complex and relatable and each storyline is incredible. I love when I can read several short stories that still pack a punch. Each author did a wonderful job of writing stories involving romance and all that we enjoy about it. I did have a few favorites such as Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance, The Player and Unexpected Packages each of these stories captured a piece of my heart. That’s not to ignore all the other great stories because I truly loved each one for different reasons. I’m giving this set a big five star review and highly recommend it. Irresistible Valentine was a great 5 start compilation of nine Valentine Romance stories and the third installment in the Irresistible Romance series.
Two Hearts Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson is about Eve and Harry. We get another great story written around Crystal Rock where these two grew up together. We go past to present as we get the back story. Can these two find their love again now that they are back in Crystal Rock?
The Player by Jacquie Biggar tells Roy’s story. Roy is a hockey player that has someone stalking him and causing bad PR for him. Patience is introduced into the story as a PR person, she is hired to help Roy. As these two spend more time together the closer they become. Will these two end up together and get a HEA? I would love more from these two.
Overall I really enjoyed all of the stories in the series. I was introduced to a couple of new authors and plan to read more from them. This collection has something for everyone to enjoy. You can read a story here and there without having to commit to reading the whole book in one sitting. Thank you to all the great authors for all the stories, I suggest 1-clicking and getting started today.
Irresistible Valentine (Irresistible Romance Book 3). This is an anthology written by nine amazing authors!! I love these types of books!! You get to enjoy different stories and have a chance to find new authors. Two of my favorite books in this anthology were:
Two Hearts Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson. I have read mostly all of Ms. Ferguson’s books and I have loved them all!!! I absolutely love second chance romances. And that is just what Eve and Harry’s book is. This was an emotional story, very good friends, lose touch and years later find their way back to each other. You can’t help but hope for Eve and Harry to find their happiness.
The Player by Jaquie Biggar. I love sports romance stories, so this one was right up my alley. A sexy, hockey player, a crazy, ex-girlfriend and a PR agent….. will his career be saved or will the ex get her way? This one is sure to keep you interested.
IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3) Anthology. This is an amazing box set. Its got tons of sweet love stories and it is well worth your time reading them all. The story Two Heart’s Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson is the story of Eve Loughlin & Harry Giordano who became close friends as teenagers. They have dealt with being in Foster Care and overcome a ton of obstacles. As they grew up they grew apart because of different career paths. They are now back in their old home town, will they be able to reconnect on the level they had before? In The Player by Jacquie Biggar. Irresistible Valentine filled with five-star reads. I love Anthology’s like these as they bring so many great authors together, so you can read old favourites and then find new authors as well. Each story will show you something to make you smile, each one brings something special to the collection. My favourite’s are Tamara Ferguson with Two Hearts Reconnaissance and I adore this one as even though its teenagers, I remember what that was like, she shows us expertly how you fear life will end if you don’t see the other part of your soul immediately. Alicia Street with Never Lovers, a great story with a fabulous twist that will keep you on your toes and then finally Jacquie Bigger who brings us The Player and this one, well this one had that extra special sauce to it and just had a little extra sparkle as it involves a player in more ways than one. If you are in the mood for some great reads then pick this collection up.
The Player is the 2nd book in the Men Of WarHawks series by Jacquie Biggar. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book before reading this although I had read other work by this author. I will be going back to read the first book now as I really enjoyed this one. Roy Donaldson is a top NHL player whose career has taken a bit of a dive due to a psycho ex-girlfriend spreading lies about him. To help his career, his team bring in sassy PA Patience Kennedy to sort him out. Just what he wants, another woman trying to organise him! This book flows quickly and keeps you gripped to the story by adding elements of humour, romance, drama etc. The very first meeting between Roy and Patience in the locker room, when he thinks she’s a reported looking for a story, is particularly funny. The book was much more dramatic than I had anticipated. Jacquie Biggar does a fantastic job of writing the dramatic scenes with the psycho ex as everything comes to a dramatic conclusion. Added to the drama is the attraction between Roy and Patience. She is the total opposite of everything he’s ever looked for in a woman but he can’t help his growing attraction and feelings towards her, some of which adds to the humorous element of the story, particularly when Patience’s older brothers are added to the fun and games. I’d definitely recommend this book to others.

The Player is the second book in the Men of WarHawks series by Jacquie Biggar. This was such an enjoyable read. It had a little bit of everything- it was fun, sexy, and sweet. Then sprinkled with some drama, suspense, tension, and mystery that had me turning the pages, avidly reading, just to see how everything would play out. This is such a well woven story about finding love unexpectedly. It is a quick and easy read that hooked me right from the get-go. When a crazy, stalker ex gets Roy sidelined from his beloved NHL- the only way to get back in the game is to allow sexy PA, Patience Kennedy, to help. With her PR know-how she’ll have him back in the game in no time. Right? I really did love this story- and as always, I can count on Ms. Biggar to deliver the goods! Definitely well worth the read! Can’t wait to see what Ms. Biggar has in store for us next!

The Player by Jacquie Biggar was a great short story! I loved the writing, and the starting relationship dynamic between Patience and Roy. Their chemistry flew off the pages! Full of more suspense than I expected, I couldn’t put this story down! I also found some pretty funny humor to be between the pages as well. I loved reading this story, this was the second I’ve read from Biggar and I wasn’t disappointed! I highly recommend and can’t wait to read more from her!

IRRESISTIBLE VALENTINE (Irresistible Romance Book 3)
Anthology
This is a wonderful anthology full of great stories by amazing authors. Each of these stories give you something different from sweet romance to suspenseful romance, there is something for everyone in this collection. One of my favorite stories is Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson. I was captivated by this story. Harry and Eve met as teenagers and these two had already been put through so much that all I wanted for them is to be happy. This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster. To find out if these two can find their way back to each other after their careers took them on different paths. then this is a must read.
The Player by Jacquie Biggar is another one of my favorites. As a professional hockey player Roy was used to having his pick of women, but then one of those women turns into a stalker. Now he needs help cleaning up his image. Will he settle down and forget his bachelor ways? This story had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen. All of these books have something special to offer. I highly recommend this box set.
The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2) By Jacquie Biggar 5 out of 5 stars
I enjoyed reading The Player (Men of WarHawks Book 2) by Jacquie Biggar. It is a story that will pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Roy Donaldson and Patience Kennedy. Roy is a man who loves the game of hockey. He has been put on hold because of the actions of his ex-girlfriend turned stalker. What is his next move? It is up to Patience to be Roy’s personal assistant and to help him smooth out his image. It is a job she is good at. What could go wrong? As Patience sets out how they will repair Roy’s reputation she starts to have other feelings for Roy. What does the future hold for Roy and Patience? Will there be more trouble from Roy’s ex? Will Patience remake Roy’s image? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me smiling, laughing out loud, and also wondering what was going to happen next. The push and pull between Roy and Patience start almost immediately and is entertaining. They are both characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. I also enjoyed many of the other characters that were introduced and how they interacted with Roy and Patience. This is a story that had me wishing for a few more chapters. Highly recommended reading.

This is the second book in this series and the best yet. This is an author I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are well developed stories that have something for every one and this one is no different. The characters bring the story to life and they pulled me in right from the beginning. Hockey is one of my favorite sports and I love reading about it plus romance is a great plus. In this book we have Roy who is a NFL player that has a stalker that causes some problems for him so he gets benched. It is Patience’s job to restore his image. Patience is determined to fix Roy’s image to get her partnership. What happens with them, you will have to read about. You don’t want to miss it. I highly recommend their story.

I only read two stories out of this anthology, Irresistible Valentine, and they were Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson and The Player by Jacquie Biggar. I was completely blown away by Ferguson’s short story! It was very emotional and dramatic and left you wanting a lot more than what you got! It was very fast paced as well, and super sweet. The Player was amazing as well! I loved the drama, and the chemistry, and I even laughed a little as well! Both of these stories were extremely well written, with some very dramatic occurrences that I wasn’t expecting at all from a romance anthology. I highly recommend this, both stories I read were absolutely incredible!
My two favorite stories are by Tamara Ferguson and Jacquie Biggar
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance: Tamara Ferguson
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson is one of my favorite stories in this anthology. Ferguson wrote about a teenage couple Eve and Harry. They became close friends and it grew into a loving relationship. Now they had to split ways because they had different careers. Do you remember your high school sweetheart? Can you think about parting ways only to find your way back to them? Will Eve and Harry be able to rekindle their story? This story has a roller coaster ride of emotions. Enjoy Eve and Harry and their special story.
The Player by Jacquie Biggar
This love story is about Roy and Patience. Roy is a NHL player and he had a stalker. Now he was not able to play because of them. There was PA Patience, who helped him with his PR. All Roy wants is to play hockey. There was something innocent about Patience that peaked Roy’s interest. Can there be romance in the PA Patience and NHL Roy? Will Roy allow himself to love Patience? This is a short story but it is well written and captured my attention throughout the whole story.
This anthology is one to warm your heart and just in time for Valentines! I loved each of the stories and felt they all fit nicely in the anthology. My two favorites were the selections from Biggar and Ferguson. But all of them just were truly fantastic stories that I enjoyed immensely. If you love love and love a good love story, this anthology is a must read.
Irresistible Valentine is pages and pages and hours upon hours of goodness aka it is the third instalment in the Irresistible Romance anthology series and is filled with Valentine stories by nine amazing writers – Tamara Ferguson, Natalie Ann, Suzanne Jenkins, Cynthia Cooke, Alicia Street, Jacquie Bigger, Stacy Eaton, Susan Jean Ricci and Patrice Wilton. I love anthologies as they give you a sample of multiple writers so it is a great way of discovering new writers! This is how I had already found quite a few of the writers who contributed to this anthology. I will share my review for Tamara Ferguson’s Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance – she is my absolute favorite writer out of all nine writers here! I think I have read every single story she has written and I have not encountered anything that I would not love! Two Hearts’’ Reconnaissance is part of her Two Hearts Wounded Warrior romance series and it is the 13th!!!!!! instalment! (can you just imagine all the goodness you have to look forward to if this is your first encounter with her!) As you can imagine from the title of the series then the stories have a very serious subject matter but I promise you, they are filled with hope and we always get our happy ending! Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance gives us Eva Loughlin and Harry Giordano who has survived a lot! (Have a box of tissues at hand! You will need it from the start!) There is this amazing connection between them since the moment they met when they were just kids! Life takes them into different directions and as it is with living, there are ups and downs and thorough it all we keep our fingers crossed for a chance for them to find a way back to each other! I also loved learning more about some of the characters that I have read about in the other stories. There were three writers in the anthology that were new for me and it was Jacquie Biggar’s story the Player that took the cherry! I love sports stories (especially hockey ones) and Jacquie gives us Roy who gets sidelined from NHL thanks to his stalker ex so he ends up needing some little help from a PA Patience … so you can imagine the good laughs and antics and aww moments she mixed up for us and to be frank, I think the story would have deserved to be longer! I for sure will keep my eyes open for more by Jacquie!
Yet again another wonderful anthology filled with some amazing stories! I think I have read something by all of these authors previously so it was great to read their work again! I love anthologies as they always have a little bit of something for everyone in them, all different but full of wonderful romance!
Two Hearts Reconnaissance by Tamara Ferguson I loved this story! Tamara Ferguson is one of my favourite authors and I have read almost every single one of her books. Eve and Harry’s story was a great read about second chance romance, close friends who lost touch and found their way back to each other. The story was quite emotional at times and as always the author made me feel like I was right there with the characters. With both characters having had such hard childhoods I was rooting for them to both find their happily ever after the hole way through!
The Player by Jacquie Biggar I’ve read work by Jacquie Biggar before and I love her writing style, I am easily transported in to her story and the lives of her characters. This story definitely had me laughing my way through it! The banter between Roy and Patience certainly kept me entertained from beginning to end; they definitely knew how to rub each other up the wrong way!!
Along with these two stories were some other really great reads and this anthology is definitely one that I would recommend!
Irresistible Valentine is the third instalment in the Irresistible Romance Anthology series. It is a fantastic collection of stories from nine very talented, best-selling, and award-winning authors. The stories were so romantic and very enjoyable- each one individual to its author- but all revolve around the same theme- which is “Irresistible Valentine”- celebrating everything we love about romance. The stories range from delightful and sweet, to spicy and suspenseful. With plenty to capture and hold your attention, the stories are:
Two Hearts’ Reconnaissance By: Tamara Ferguson Meet Eve Loughlin and Harry Giordano who have both overcome adversity. These two have a connection that cemented from the moment they met. But life takes them in different directions, tearing them apart. Will love find a way to bring them back together again? Tamara Ferguson delivers yet another wonderful story- packing a lot into a small package and delivering a romantic and captivating read.
Cupid’s Quest (Paradise Place) By: Natalie Ann Two damaged souls finding each other. She’s walked away from her past and built a life for herself, becoming a successful realtor. His past experience brought him so much heartache, grief, fear, and loneliness- which inevitably led him to becoming a police investigator. What happens when she becomes his realtor? This is well worth the read to find out! Will Cupid find a way to their hearts? Such a great read and definitely one of my favourites of this collection.
A Little Change of Plans (The Saints of San Diego) By: Suzanne Jenkins I love the Saint’s, so getting to read another story in the series is always a winner in my eyes. This follows second youngest brother, Jake Saint- and I loved following along for the ride. He and Geri were so great together- and the clever way Ms. Jenkins wove her story certainly had me hook, line and sinker! Sublime!
All Night Long (Kiss the Bride Book 2) By: Cynthia Cooke A wonderful ‘fake fiancé’ romance, with lots of snow, a picturesque ski village, a loveable Saint Bernard, a snowy rescue, and plenty of fun- making this a memorable read. Beau hatches a plan to secure his future- he just needs a ‘fiancée’ to seal the deal- and he think Phoebe is just the right girl to pull it off. A funny, light-hearted, and engaging story. So much fun to read.
Never Lovers (The Rocklyns) By: Alicia Street A bit of a “Runaway Bride” vibe to this story- with a bit of a twist. Emotive and very romantic- true love always finds a way! A great little read!
The Player (Men of Warhawks Book 2) By: Jacquie Biggar This is about finding love unexpectedly. When a crazy, stalker ex gets Roy sidelined from his beloved NHL- the only way to get back in the game is to allow sexy PA, Patience Kennedy, to help. With her PR know-how she’ll have him back in the game in no time. Right? I really loved this story- and would have loved an even longer version of it, so I could really immerse myself in the story. I can always count on Ms. Biggar to deliver the goods!
Unexpected Packages (The Unexpected Series Book 1) By: Stacy Eaton After a parcel mix up brings Alex to Lexi’s doorstep- things are about to get interesting! This one snuck under my skin much more than I had anticipated. I loved how well this was written, and the wonderful ‘feel-good’ vibe that I got from the story. The characters were very endearing- and I would love to read more of their story
First Class Flirtation By: Susan Jean Ricci Melissa had been looking forward to having some extra room on her first class flight. But her plans go awry when she’s forced to share her seats with a complete stranger, a grouchy one at that. But it doesn’t take long for chemistry to bubble, and sparks fly. But things are about to get quite complicated- what does the future hold for these two? Will love find a way?
Serendipity Falls By: Patrice Wilton This is the first book in a new romantic comedy series- and if this story is anything to go by, the series is set to be great! What happens when a pastry chef and an Olympic Skier connect in the romantic, small town of Serendipity? You really should read this enjoyable story and find out for yourself! It’s well worth your time!
