Alexa Crushed by T.R. Cupak – Review by Carrie Reed

Alexa Crushed (Alexa, #1)Alexa Crushed by T.R. Cupak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alexa Series Vol. 1 by T.R. Cupak, WOW! T.R. really did me in with this book! This story is so beautiful and heart wrenching.

I instantly fell in love with Alexa and her family. The relationship they share is so beautiful. I could definitely see the love they all shared. Alexa’s relationship with her best friend Devin is rocky at first when she moves but through the death of her parents reunited these two.

Through the whole book Alexa’s best friend Devin and the man she is crushing on, Ethan, her best door neighbor share so much hatred for each other as they are both in love with her. I love both of the guys and can see Alexa with either man, but my heart leans more towards Devin with the way he has loved Alexa his whole life, and his love and devotion to her is evident.

When Ethan’s deranged step mother enters the picture, some evil and heinous events turn everyone’s life upside down.

I can’t say too much without giving anything away but, this book is so worth everything! The tears, the love and my breaking heart. This is a 5 Star read and I don’t have enough positive wording to praise this book like it deserves. I can’t wait to read more by this amazing author! Thank you T.R. Cupak for an amazing adventure!

Falling In Love (A True Love Romance Story Book 3) by Cindee Bartholomew – Review by Jenni Bishop

Falling In Love (A True Love Romance Story Book 3)Falling In Love by Cindee Bartholomew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling In Love is the third book in the series Siri’s Saga by Cindee Bartholomew and is just as good if not better than the others. It is a continuation of the sweet and oh so sexy story of Siri and Aurei. The sinful sexy and erotic story line will have your heart pumping and your imagination engaged. I would love to see this story written in the different POV of each of the main characters in the one story. The passion these two have for each other is of the charts and I can’t wait to see where Cindee takes them next. If soul mates exists then it is these two. Cindee is definitely a writer that can make you see and believe everything she writes. The stories keep getting, hotter, sexier, steamier and make you an addicted and wanting more.

Alexa Series, Volume One by T.R. Cupak
5 Stars, but deserves so many more!
This author has snuck up on me and has me all kinds of messed up. This is my second read by her this week, and the first one about ruined me…this one has taken what was left and shattered me. I can not put my finger on what it is about this author’s writing style but it is unmatched by anyone I’ve ever read, I have favorites, and they will remain favorites, but Miss Cupak holds a new favorite spot in my heart.
This story was amazing…the twists and turns in Alexa’s life had me sitting on the edge of my seat the entire book. Her friendship with Devin was so awesomely written and I loved that it didn’t stay a perfect friendship, it had its ups and downs and time apart. I had mixed feelings about Alexa’s new neighbor Ethan, I just wasn’t sure which way his character was gonna go and the part he was going to play in Alexa’s life. The devastating events that Alexa has to endure in this book were mindblowing, losing her parents in an earthquake had me in tears, and Im having a really hard time writing this review because it’s all still so fresh and I’m so afraid I will give too much away. You have to experience this book the way I did, I did not even read the synopsis, I just knew that after reading her book Jordans Shadow that it didn’t matter what the synopsis said I was reading this. This is broke up into two books, and I keep forgetting that because I don’t even remember where the break between the two were, I just know it flowed so perfectly that it felt like one.
I do know that more characters came into play during the second, Alexas twin best friends Jessa and Becca who were completely awesome became a much bigger part of the second story and then there was Sebastian, a friend? Or business associate of her fathers? Alexa is unsure but a letter left by her father told her to trust this man known as Viper. This brought in a different twist to this story, but this man quickly became one of my favorite parts of this book, as well as Jeremy, who gets brought in to the mix by Sebastian, and his part in Alexa’s life also became one of my favorite things in this book.
I have to stop, Im rambling and going in different directions because I just don’t know what to say…This was one of the most amazing stories I’ve ever read, there’s so much going on but it is all centered around Alexa, Devin, and Ethan. I cried so hard so many times in this book, and the epilogue left me wanting so so much more, I can not wait to see how some of the twists in this book still play out.
LOVED LOVED LOVED it and am now a forever fan of this author..She is amazing!!

If We Had No Winter by D.L. Pitchford – Review by Carrie Reed

If We Had No Winter (Billie Dixon, #1)If We Had No Winter by D.L. Pitchford
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If We Had No Winter by D.L. Pitchford is just WOW! I loved this book! The story was fantastic and I never wanted it to end. This is most definitely a 5 star read!

At first, just based on the synopsis, I didn’t think I would really get into this book or even enjoy it a little, but after reading the first chapter I was hooked. The story is so intriguing and it will pull you right in. I could not put this book down; I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I thought I could anticipate some of the outcomes of the issues and relationships but I was dead wrong. The author kept me on my toes.

There is a lot going on in this story, Billie trying to rekindle a relationship with her dad, as well as dealing with school work and the boys in her life. Throughout the whole book I felt as though Billie’s relationship with Xander would have ended up to be more than it did. They become friends in the end but with the way he would pick on her and tease her I thought he had feelings for her, and I still do.

At one point Billie kind of got on my nerves because she sounded like a whiney brat and it was getting a little annoying, but I did feel bad for her on different levels relating to her relationship with her father, and how she viewed herself.
Overall a FANTASTIC book, I really really REALLY hope there is a second book, I would love to follow along with Billie’s journey through college and also hope for a relationship to happen between Xander and Billie.

No Man Left Behind (Iris Williams & Annette Toni)No Man Left Behind by R.G. Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

No Man Left Behind: An Iris Williams & Annette Toni Novel by R.G. Miller is a standalone dark psychological thriller. It is gripping graphic and violent story that is full of suspense. I love a good crime thriller and this one did not disappoint. There are so many twists and turns and action that you just need to keep on reading to find out what is going to happen. It’s like a good horror movie, if you blink you will miss out on soooo much. R.G writes a good intense story and a well thought out plot that makes you glued to the pages.
This is the first book I have read by R.G, and I enjoyed this one enough to make me want to read the others. If you are looking for a dark and twisted thriller that leaves your heart thumping, then this is one book you can not go past.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Freezing is the third book in The Melted Series by Tarrah Anders and I think her best in the series. Sadly it is the last book in the series but what a great ending. Tarrah’s writing is easy and her attention to detail is what helps make her writing flow. I enjoyed the world and the plot she created and her characters are heartfelt, lovable and so easily connectable.
This is a wonderfully beautiful story about second chances forgiveness and reconnecting with family and love.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Froze is book two in The Melted Series by Tarrah Anders and is a contemporary erotic romance story. This book is better than the first and I totally love Beth and Jacob’s story. We first saw them as minor characters in the first book Frozen Over and I am glad they got their own story. It is just as hot and steamy and as with all Tarrah’s characters, are well written and and have depth and you will fall in love with them. These two just cracked me up I laughed and laughed but also felt the angst that they went through because of the lies and betrayals.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

It is a hot and steamy fast paced read and the characters are well written and you will fall in love with them. This is the perfect start to this series and a great story to lose yourself in. I laughed along with their antics and got equally frustrated and annoyed at times.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Last Resort Motel: Room 1 by Gwyn McNamee is a short story and is a little different to your normal romance stories and is refreshing. I enjoy reading Gwyn’s writing style and the characters are very well developed. I love the depth of the characters and their quirkiness.

Aurora wonders why she stays, why she puts herself through it nut when it all comes down to it, she knows why she stays. When Mr Mysterious and Sexy walks in she wonders, how he ended up there. He isn’t your normal person to this neck of the woods. Where does he go when he leaves?

Add in the healthy dose of mystery and suspense, throw in a bit of steamy sexiness chemistry and you have a good story.

Jordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak
5 Stars

This is the first book that I have read from T.R Cupak and it won’t be the last. Oh my god, it was amazing! This story played with my emotions so much! My heart broke for Jordan and I cried my eyes out. It is definitely not a fairytale. It is a dark story about pain and suffering and addiction.

A traumatic experience happened to Jordan at the age of seventeen. It was horrible what she went through. This starts her on the dark path of addiction. She is depressed and lost. She can’t dig herself out of the hole she has fallen into. Hunter is his own type of crazy but he loves her with every breath he takes. He wants to avenge her. He wants to break all the people that have hurt her.

Things happened in this book that made me freak out and others that made me happy. Events happened that shocked the hell out of me and then I cried a lot. You have got to read this book! This story is powerful and heart wrenching.

Chains of Life – Perception #6 by Shandi Boyes – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Chains of Life - Perception #6Chains of Life – Perception #6 by Shandi Boyes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chains of Life (Perception Book 6) by Shandi Boyes is the sixth book in her Perception series. This book can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest that you read all of the books in this series. This is not my first book by this author but I think it has just become one of favorites in this series. I enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. This author’s writing style is easy flowing and kept me engaged until the last page. This story has a little bit of everything in it but be aware that there are adult situations that may offend some but it is also so much more. The characters in this book are both lovable and connectable. They will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that had me laughing in parts and angry in others. This is Cleo’s story. Cleo is a struggling journalist until one chance meeting in an elevator. She runs into the most hot, sexy man that she doesn’t realize how he will change her life forever. What will happen when she realizes that she has been assigned to investigate this same man? He wants her and will stop at nothing to have her but will he destroy her or dominate her? What will she do? Will she give in to him or will she write her story? When she is faced with betrayal, she is broken but will fate have other things in store for her? I enjoyed Cleo’s character and the choice she is faced with. She is writing the story of her career but yet she finds herself attracted to the man she is writing about. They have such great chemistry but he is kind of like forbidden fruit for her. There is no doubt that they heat up the pages! She is quite but yet determined, she has this attitude about her that makes her lovable. He on the other hand, is hot and sexy. He will steal your heart at the same time making you not like him. The secondary characters in this book help make this story flow and I wouldn’t change them, good or bad. I would highly recommend this book. You will need to see what happens when Cleo is faced with a decision that will change her life forever!

Finding Love (Siri’s Saga series) by Cindee Bartholomew – Review by Jenni Bishop

Finding Love (A Story of True Love, Book 2)Finding Love by Cindee Bartholomew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finding Love is the second book in the Siri’s Saga series by Cindee Bartholomew and is just as hot, if not hotter than the first book. You need to read the books in order as this book starts off where the first book ends. It is sensual, it is sexy, it is erotic, it is sultry and things certainly heat up as our characters dance around one another.

Maxium Aurelius Moore can’t believe his luck when he finally spots his obsession. The one thing that makes his heart beat faster. The one thing that has him all twisted up inside. The one thing that has been missing for months. Now that he has found her, what will do to her? Now that he has found her he will do whatever it takes to make her his.

Is this sexy fantasy all he has made it up to be? Is the real thing better than the fantasy? The intensity of this book is off the charts. I can’t wait to see where Cindee takes our characters next.

I just love how the author uses thing from their pasts to add to the story and how these things bring them both closer to one another. The added dramas and twists in the book make it so refreshing and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is awesome! This is the third book in this author’s The Glacial Blood Series. I highly recommend that you read all books in order to get the full enrichment of this series. I was excited to see Tyler and Teagan get thier own story! This story has a little bit of everything in, action, revenge, suspense, and of course hot romance. This story has some twists and turns that you won’t see coming and you certainly don’t want to miss them! This story is really about Teagan and her search for realizing that being different is not always bad. She is clutsy and has just taken a new job but will she regret taking it? Will the Glacial Blood Pack soon learn that there is more to her then just kindness? I totally loved her character! She is strong, has some attitude and knows what she wants. Tyler has some problems of his own but will it effect his relationship with Teagan? I highly recommen this book, I know you are going to want to see Tyler and Teagan’s story! Is it possible that there is a happy ending for them?

Flowers in December by Jane Suen – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Flowers in DecemberFlowers in December by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Flowers in December by Jane Suen tells the story of a young man, Connor, returning to the town where he grew up to bury his mother. Having spent most of his adult life working hard to keep away from the town (for reasons that become clearer towards the end of the book), he faces guilt at having not returned more frequently while his parents were alive and once again has a chance to spend some time in town as he sorts out his parents’ possessions and gets to know the people who were important to them. The change of pace also prompts him to begin to think critically about his lifestyle and the choices that he has made along the way.
It’s a charming book, with a loveable cast of characters (Tom the cat is probably my favourite, with elderly neighbour Mrs Rainer in close second). Suen approaches the theme of grief sensitively and doesn’t sugar-coat it.
Although on the shorter side, the story seems to be just the right length. I didn’t feel, like so often with shorter books, that it ended abruptly and equally it didn’t drag on.
For me, this book gets five out of five stars. I enjoyed reading it and had difficulty putting it down. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something short and satisfying with a focus on friendships (although there is also a little romance).

The writing style is easy to follow, but I did find it hard to hold my attention at times, with the overly polite conversations taking place, but Jane did a nice job of dealing with the sensitive issue death.     This book will remind you not to take others for granted in your life and suddenly finding your place in the world even through loss.

Found in Silence (A Prairie Tale #2)Found in Silence by Lisa Sorbe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Found in Silence is the second book in the A Prairie Tale series by Lisa Sorbe and it is a beautiful touching story. It made me smile and laugh and cringe in disgust and anger, as I was taken on journey of pain and rediscovery for our main character. Lisa has done a wonderful job of immersing us into a world in which she created with her writing skills, which lead to sympathy and understanding for a sad and lonely woman.

When everything she ever wanted was taken away from her, when everything she ever knew was taken away from her it turned her into a cold hearted, self-absorbed, bitter woman. When faced with a task, she doesn’t want to do, who knew it would lead her on a road, she never thought possible.

Are people bitter by nature or has something so profound happened to make them that way? Can bitter people change if given the right circumstances or do they not care enough? To discover the answers to these questions, you really really need take the plunge and read this great story, to look into the heart and soul of the one who matters.

The characters are so full of heart you want to keep reading more of their story. I hope to read and learn more of the other characters in this story from Lisa.
