This series is so much fun to read. It’s romantic and hilarious. In this book we learn more about Katrina, a succubus looking to free herself from the devil. She abstains from sex hoping he will forget about her. She now lives vicariously through other people via her dating app, Swipe Right to Bite. She notices several people have canceled their subscriptions due to a class about emotional intimacy held by none other than an incubus. Believe it or not!

The adventure begins when she decides to attend one of these classes. What a class it turned out to be! This is a classic enemies to lovers novel and a great addition to this series. It is a light hearted, cute book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

This is book two of The Shadow Chronicles and I loved it! Definitely worth staying up all night reading it. In this book we get to see more of what’s really going on in the Vampire/Lycan world and who the bad guy really is. We do get some of our questions answered from book 1 but she still leaves us wanting more. Levi is still our smoking hot alpha and Tasha is still our fierce warrior. We also get to know some of the side characters better and I have to say the Dominic and Radar are probably my favorites. I really hope we get more of them with the last book. I really wish I could give this more than 5 stars!

5 stars!

WOW! This author is truly amazing! I have never read about a character with so much description as I did with this book and with the character of Sullivan. This author had me hating Sullivan so much, I wanted to put the book down and plot the demise of a fictional character for the first time ever! The twist in this book had my jaw dropped and just all around amazed at the flow of the story. Lydia and Cam, I love them, they seem perfect for each other. At one point I was nervous I was going to be hating Lydia, but she was strong and pulled through! I highly recommend this read, it has romance, action, drama, and adventure, I seriously enjoyed this book and can’t wait to check out more by this author!

My favorite part about this series is that each book can be read as a stand-alone book. As always, the author did an excellent job of building up the characters and making them relatable. She makes me want to make friends with everyone and live in this cute little town. This one also had me hooked from beginning to end. I read all 3 back-to-back and loved every minute of it! The writing is excellent, it’s so easy to feel like you’re there and friends with everyone. Highly recommend!

The Good Lie by A.R. Torre – Review by Colleen Noyes

The Good LieThe Good Lie by A.R. Torre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I borrowed this book through Kindle Unlimited and it’s my first book by this author. This gripping psychological story will make you second guess just about everything. There is suspense, romance, lies, turmoil, and shock. Dr. Gwen is a very likeable character that you can tell feels what her patients are going through, but that seems to also be her greatest downfall. Attorney Robert is a torn and beat down man who is good at his job and has you saying to yourself what is he thinking? The only character I really could not connect to was Scott, maybe there wasn’t enough about him to really let you get to know him. I found him to be a little unrealistic and not a lot of substance. The overall story and concept we well thought out and the author has a very easy writing style. If you like a good suspense story you will enjoy this book as I did.

I highly enjoyed this book. The premise of the female lead being the child of a time traveler from the past is a new one for me. I feel like the story of her father leaving the 16th Century could be a story all on its own. You can see the author truly researched the time period to be able to bring this book to life. The world building and character progression was good. I can’t wait to read the second book.

This was an OK story for me. I like the overall plot but I had a hard time liking the main character of Lydia. She is supposed to be an independent, adventurous individual but she came across as a very needy person, following after her boyfriend, Cam, in his treks and goals of exploration. I did admire her willingness to save Cam but that’s about all I enjoyed about her. The plot was the redeeming quality to this book and did have a twist that was good. I will say this is a 3.5 star but rounding up because I feel a lot of people will like this quick read.

First let me say this is a New and Exciting author for me. So the story begins. Lydia’s boyfriend Cam has been kidnapped and she has a limited time to find him. If she does not bring the priceless ring, she may never see Cam again. She will need to go to the Casanu Jungle and fight her way to free Cam. As a strong character Lydia has the strength to do this on her own, okay with some help from her ex-boyfriend. But does Sullivan have alternative plans? Really Lydia has many struggles to work through and Sullivan should not be one of them. So let this intriguing story begin for you. This author got my attention in the first couple of pages. I had a hard time putting this book down. The rollercoaster of emotions was opened in this book. This has been quite the story to read. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author.

Holy Hell!!! This book was devilishly devine! I’ve been a book lover pretty much my whole life. I’ve read several different genres. My personal favorite is a good live story. Normally I prefer EXTRA spicy love stories if you know what I mean. This has to be one of the BEST love stories I’ve read that doesn’t have cover to cover sex. The other did a phenomenal job keeping the story between the main characters so good that I didn’t mind the mild spice. She also did such a great job describing how your body feels emotions that I swear I was feeling right along with the characters.

I have absolutely adored every one of the New Orleans Nocturnes Books but this one has to be my absolute favorite in the series so far. I laughed so hard I was in tears at one point and at others I was fanning myself from the heat pouring from the screen of my kindle. This book brings it for sure and I was completely here for it! I couldn’t get enough and my only regret came at the end when the last few chapters came so fast. I found myself reading this sucker well into the night and was up way too late but I just had to know how Katrina and Gabe’s story would work out in the end. This book is spicy and has so many elements to it for everyone that loves a good paranormal romance read with some comedic relief. You don’t have to read any of the other books in the series to enjoy this one either but they are also amazing so give them a look too! I can’t wait to see what will come next!

Who knew that I could love a book whose main character is a spider of all things?! Well written with lovable, relatable characters; I recommend this book to Sci-Fi lovers everywhere. This story is a refreshing take on finding friendship in the most unlikely places. Clever and witty, this book left me in tears. Definitely a wonderful book to start the new year off!

Master Trentino (Masters of the Consulate Book 3) by Sylvia Black – Review by Sarah King

Master TrentinoMaster Trentino by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As the overall story line continues for the Masters of the Consulate series this book focuses on Trentino and Angel’s story. As in the first two books of the series there is a BDSM theme and may be a trigger for some. While you could probably read this as a stand alone without massive amounts of confusion I would strongly recommend reading the series in order, things will just make much more sense.
In this book we have Trentino, a master vampire and Angel, the niece and sister of several higher ups in the human Syndicate as the main love interests. In a chance meeting at the beginning of their story the two have a quick but intense passing where Trentino becomes positive they will have some kind of future relationship. This almost does not come to pass as enemies try to wipe out her family. Trentino finds her with just enough time to turn her but will not do so without consent. Getting the permission of her brother Trentino starts the process. When Angel comes to she has a lot of prejudices to overcome as she was raise with vampires being the enemy Trentino and Angel continue to spark and realize that they belong together which helps Angel, along with the help of her special gift, overcome her fears quickly. The two work with the others to try and discover who is behind all the treacheries they have all been facing.
This has by far been my favorite book of the series so far. I love how all of the characters and relationships among each other continue to grow and the continuing story line continues to draw you in with each added detail. I will definitely be continuing the series as it comes.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As the overall story line continues for the Masters of the Consulate series this book focuses on Christian and Delilahs story. As in the first book of the series there is a BDSM theme and may be a trigger for some.
Master Tuscano is pure blood who feel in love with a human and the Consulate makes their unhappiness known to the two. Upon learning that she isn’t what the Consulate deems an acceptable mate for a Master, especially because she has no plans to be converted Delilah runs. While living with a witch coven she is kidnapped, once she is rescued Christian cares for her and tries to prove to her that she is what he wants regardless of the Consulates view. Delilah does not make it easy though. She runs under the pretense that she has to take care of her torturers because she does not want that on Christians head. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and Christian must turn her or lose her and he just is not willing to do that. As they work to overcome the challenges and misunderstanding between both each other and the consulate While I love Christian’s character Delilah stirs mixed feelings for me. In moments she feels too naive in the story to me but by the end I feel she has matured enough belong. Can’t wait to see how the overall story carries to the next book.

Descallia: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 1)Descallia: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Humans, the Syndicates and Vampires have learned to exist in an uneasy balance.  However, the multiple disappearances of women in Las Vegas in a way that points to the Vampires threatens to topple that balance. The Consulate of the Vampires, the ruling party for the Vampires, made up of 12 pure bloods and an Overload decide they must step in.  Overlord Salvatore Descallia is invested in finding who is kidnapping humans while trying to frame his people.  In order to shadow the investigation, Descallia heads to Vegas.   The human’s police department want to place an undercover, Clairvoyant officer before the Vampires become aware of the situation.   When Descallia addresses Officer Lucianna Denaro, she decides to work with him to reach the same goal, find the women.  Unfortunately, things just do not go as planned.   This led Descallia to offer Luce a chance at a second life, as a vampire.  The sparks that fly between the two are intense from start to finish.  Descallia expects obedience and Lucianna is just as head strong.
The characters are well developed, have depth and a connection that neither was expecting. There is a BDSM theme throughout so for some that may be a trigger. I also like that there is a larger story being laid out throughout. Can not wait to see how the how story carries through to the next book in the series.

Swipe Right to Bite is the sixth book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is a Paranormal Romance that I truly enjoyed reading. I’m a huge of this author and was very excited about this book. This is a perfect blend of Romance and comedy I found myself laughing out loud and getting the look from my three year old. Ha This will grab you from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. I got nothing else done for an afternoon of delightful reading. This being the sixth book in this series I highly recommend reading the first five books if you haven’t already. This is a wonderful series definitely going on my list of favorites and re-reads. This is Katrina and Gabes story ,she’s a Succubus who is fasting for her freedom and she runs Swipe Right to Bite which is a an hook-up app for the supernatural. He’s an incubus .These two both are after the same thing but just have different methods to achieve it. I don’t want to give to much away. If you enjoy Paranormal/Romance then this is definitely the book to read. I highly recommend reading to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for more from this Author.

Oh my word, this is one of the best romances I’ve read this year! Yes, it’s early January and this book is funny, romantic and down to earth. It kind of makes me think of a Hallmark movie (minus the octogenarians fooling around). The chemistry between CC and Brant is palpable. The supporting characters are terrific. Having read a few of the other books in the series, I love how the other carries on the story likes its just life in a small town. It can be read as a stand alone but you’ll enjoy it as a series also. The story and the characters are very relatable. Joys of small town life, a fun and quick read that you just have to give a whirl to. I highly recommend this one.

A Fangtastic five-star read. This is number six in the New Orleans Nocturns and it can be read as stand-alone, but they are best read as a series as they are just so good and all of the characters just build into a great world, you would only want to go back and find out more about everyone so do yourself a favour and start from number one. This story will have you chuckling away to yourself, honestly the way this author crafts their characters is just sublime, they feel like the crazies in your life. Who knew a succubi on a diet would be so much fun and so deep.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. It was a very action packed adventure which kept twisting and turning at every turn. You never knew who were the good guys and the bad and the final twist will surprise you most of all. I love both Cam and Lydia characters. Both of them are strong and determined people on their own but their insecurities make them feel human. One thing that you definately feel is the love between them and how strong their desire is to protect each other.

The story starts with Cam being kidnapped. He has buried a ring which is worth a load of money and now the bad guys want it. By kidnapping Cam they can then use Lydia to find this ring in exchange for Cams life. However things don’t go to plan and Lydia is left wondering who is the friend and who is the enemy. Add to this confusion an ex who is trying to worm his way back into Lydia’s life by force if necessary and Lydia has a hell of a job remaining focused on saving her love Cam.

I enjoyed this romance story that has a twist of suspense added to it. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed their writing style as well as their ability to pull me in from the first word. The author’s use of details made the story feel realistic. The twists and turns had me sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what would happen next with the characters. The characters are not only relatable but kept the story engaging. I enjoyed how they brought life to the story as well as made it easy to read. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. Lydia is determined to get her man back. She is faced with bullets and killers as she goes on her adventure through the jungle to get him. I enjoyed her character and is my favorite of the story. She is a determined, strong character who made the story entertaining to read. This is a great story that I highly recommend.

This is not my first audio by this author but it is really worth the listen too.  I enjoyed how the narrator’s tones of voice made the story engaging and left me wanting to listen to more.  They brought the characters to life and kept it engaging.  This is Slick’s story from the Satan’s Devils MC series. His story is a little sad but second chances could mean a happy ever after for him.   I loved the characters and what they brought to the story.  They are strong, steamy and connectable.   This is great audio that I highly recommend.  This is a must listen to and you don’t want to miss it.

It had been awhile since I read this ebook and of course jumped at the chance to have it read to me once again. She did an amazing job picking her narrators for this book and I literally listened to it in a little over a day including breaks.

This one came right out of the shoot tearing at my emotions, and I’m not sure those emotions ever evened out. This one kinda sorta has two storylines, one started back in book #1 and I love the way that was all handled..took me a second and I was like whoa hold on this sounds familiar then I actually went back and paid attention to the times given to me at the beginning of the chapters.

My heart is still completely broken and there’s parts of this book that will still play out later and I’m actually not looking forward to those because I know they aren’t going to be easy. Not going to go into any of that because you really just need to pick this up to appreciate all of the emotions.

Slick has absolutely positively won every ounce of respect I can muster up, I felt so bad for him because he didn’t know the whole story about Ella and what she went through and acted rashly, as well as how Ella was dealing with it all. There are alot of moving parts to this whole book, and in some ways it’s because I know what is to come down the road. This is now another of my favorites from all of these series, although I’ve read them all I still can not wait now to grab every audible going forward.

Please do yourself a favor and lose yourself in this Satan’s Devils world…it is absolutely positively no doubt about it my favorite MC of all books I’ve ever read!

This is my very first book by this author and luckily being it is book 6 in the series I did not need the previous books to enjoy this story. It was written very well and did make me smile a lot and even laugh out loud a few times. I could feel that I missed a lot though by not reading other character stories, and I normally do not do that but it did not take away from this one being a fully enjoyable standalone.

I love reading books that are set in New Orleans, there’s just a feeling that goes along with that setting. I don’t normally read this genre but have heard so many good things about this author and I’m really glad I tried it and am definitely looking forward to reading many more.

Like the rest of my brothers, I’m devastated when disaster hits the Satan’s Devils MC. Shocked and angry, there couldn’t be a worse time to be contacted by the woman I’d briefly made my old lady, only for her to run the moment things got too tough. She’d left me with no explanation, and in my book that was enough to cut her out for good. When she finds herself in trouble Prez makes me go see her and offer my help. But only on the condition she knows what was once between us will stay dead and buried. There had been no good reason for her to run, had there?
Ella
I didn’t run from Slick, I ran from his club, only to find the world outside their protection can be just as dangerous. And now, to protect my little sister, I’ve no alternative other than to ask Slick for help. It’s not good timing, the Satan’s Devils have just lost one of their own.
I understand why Slick wants to keep his distance, I ‘d hurt him when he’d put everything on the line, acting out of character and claiming me as his old lady. A gesture I’d thrown back in his face. But I’m not the same woman he first met. There are things he doesn’t know.

When ruthless Efrain kidnaps Lydia’s boyfriend Cam and demands she delivers Theodore’s Ring, a legendary artifact worth millions, Lydia races to the Casanu jungle to save her man. You go, girl!
She embarks on the journey with her ex-lover, Sullivan, (say what now?), who agrees to help her even though he wants her back and vows to make her his, whatever the cost.
Cam is toast if Lydia doesn’t deliver the ring within days, but throw in harsh terrain, three mysterious strangers, a duel with a King Cobra, and an ex who can’t keep his hands to himself, and Lydia quickly realizes saving Cam and being stuck in the jungle with no hair products is only half the battle.
