This book opened with a banger!! To be kissed like a stranger how she was kissed??? I totally get why she struggled not to be attracted to her best friend’s boyfriend…. If your best friend was the epitome of a mean girl. This book is like a late 90/early 2000s chick flick. The pining, the drama, the long wait for characters to get their act together. I really did enjoy reading this and watching Jasmine find her groove was beautiful. Can I get a movie please?!

What a brilliant dark romance by an author who never fails to impress. I never know what I am going to get when I pick up one of her books as she has done such an amazing job at making sure they are all different. For me, this book had a real intensity about it that I hadn’t been expecting. It drew me into the characters and the story going on around them. I found that this book lingered with me when I wasn’t reading it. I kept thinking about what might happen and found myself making excuses to be able to pick the book up again. This author really does know how to write an amazing book. This has strong characters and a great plot to support them. This book is definitely worth your time!

Dominic Larussio is the underboss, the second in command within the Larussio family and that honour comes with a lot of responsibilities, he is the right hand man of the boss and is as loyal as they come, not to mention ruthless, he takes no prisoners, ever. Emelia De Rosa is a Mafia princess within a ruthless family, but like a lot of the other women in these families, she is kept out of the loop and doesn’t know much about the family business, but it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know how to protect herself.
Revenge and retaliation are the hallmarks of the Larussio name and anyone caught in the crossfire has to know which side they are on, but as Dominic hunts down a Mafia princess in her own home, he has a plan in mind to find her and get the information he is after. However, when he finds Emelia in a secret passage, she is more to handle than he expects, she fights for her life and doesn’t give in no matter what situation she finds herself in. In the end, Dominic has to make a decision whether to hand her over to the boss, or keep her safe and away from the bloodshed surrounding her, especially when she sees it first hand.
As soon as their eyes lock, Dominic and Emelia know that something in their world will change and Dominic decides her safety is the most important thing and Emelia, knowing what it will cost cannot keep her mind or hands off of him. Things are never smooth sailing in the world of the Mafia, so when further revenge is sought and new hands are played, a dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues, but unbeknownst to Emelia, what she thought she saw turned out to be a lie, so as soon as she is able, she runs, but what will the consequences of her actions be?
Will Dominic be able to put his plan into action before all hell breaks loose, or will the princess shove a spanner in the works and being everything he has worked towards crashing down around them? This is a dark Mafia romance with plenty of action throughout, it is suspenseful and spicy, with more than a hint of tenacity included and a story which will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Chatroom with a View is an edge-of-your-seat creepy story. The story is fast-paced, keeping the story moving along. After reading the blurb, I was intrigued by what the story would hold. What would change if there is a genetic predisposition to killing found? Troy comes from an extremely dysfunctional family and possesses the killer gene. Drawn in yet? I was and wasn’t disappointed. I will warn you that this is dark and super creepy. There are twists and turns down a dark path. Be warned this is a read that will keep you reading late into the night and then keep you awake because of what you read. I will keep a look out for more books by this author in the future.

History, history and more history!! Throw in a some romance, curiosity, fun, responsibility, humor, drama, comedy and emotion and you have a great story. While I found it starts very slow (this being the reason for the four out of five stars) once you get into it the story grabs you and takes you along in a great journey. You will laugh out loud, yell at some of the characters and find you truly care what happens to our heroine. I definitely recommend reading this book.

I love these books by this author. Especially when she gives you a treat with an activity you can do with your kids after reading the book. In this story we learn about bees and their importance. The author makes it clear that we don’t fear bees but we do need them. In the back of this book is detailed instructions on how to make a bee home for your yard with your littles. This is definitely worth the purchase. Your kids will love it.
This is the second book in this series and it is just as addictive as the first. I enjoyed the playfulness of the characters and the strong storyline. These two main characters have such a connection it was wonderful to watch them navigate their togetherness and lives. I was kept on the edge of my seat once the suspense started.
I enjoyed this one immensely and look forward to more from this author and in this series. This has a nice flow, suspense and many happy times.

This is the first book I’ve picked up by this author, and I loved it. Historical Fictions are one of my reading weaknesses, and this truly is a good story. It is obvious that this author is skilled in their trade. I greatly appreciate the characters, Rhia and Emerys, and how they developed throughout the story. It was so easy to jump right in and speed-read to the end. It was a quick and enjoyable read for me. I will admit I was not too keen on an arranged-marriage romance, but I’m glad I gave this book a chance because it was well-written and very easy to fall into. I will be pursuing other works by this author. 5 out of 5 stars!

Not going to lie, I judged this book on its cover because for me it’s lacking; but the book itself is great. I fell in love with it instantly. Rhia is the mayor’s daughter but she’s not written as a spoiled child like other books. She helps the town, she’s out digging in dirt to farm, even the mayor did those things. They have to do these things because they are a poor town, but they still could have made the townsfolk do it all instead. There is great character growth for all of the characters. Rhia and Emerys didn’t have an instant love, but you could still feel the chemistry between them, even as Rhia was trying to fight against the whole thing. I do wish there was more about the town coming together and rebuilding and the Wildmen involvement, but I still enjoyed the story overall. I recommend this book to any and all YA lovers. Also, the book kept making me laugh, my favorite quote is “To be honest your majesty, your wife terrifies me.”

This is book 2 in the Sicilian God’s series. I am completely in love with these books. There is so much going in the stories that you feel like your holding your breath to find out what happens. There are so many twists and turns that always keep you guessing. There is danger and action as we learn about the war between Mafia families and their need for revenge and retribution. As well as all this we have the passion and desire we get from our main couple in the stories in this case it’s Dom and Emelia.
Emelia is the daughter of the De Rosa family. She was born and raised a Mafia princess. Dominic calls her a wildcat and he is not wrong. She isn’t the meek and mild princess people think. She has guts and can handle herself and she won’t let nothing or no one stop her from protecting her family. Even the enemy.
Dominic was never ment to fall in love with her. She’s the enemy after all. Nothing good can come from it but there is no denying the attraction and feelings between them. Dominic is prepared to risk it all, even disobeying his own family to be with Emelia. No matter the cost she is his.
What unravels is a whirlwind of a tail where deceit and secrets start to unravel, enemies are everywhere and you don’t know who you can trust. Will Dominic and Emelia’s forbidden relationship stand any chance of survival? Or will the waring families end it before it begins?

The fight that Emelia has within her is outstanding. The trauma she has endured and still to be strong enough to push herself is inspiring. As a mafia bosses daughter, she is used to death and deceit, but I do not think she was prepared for the havoc she had to endure after watching her family die before her eyes. I cannot express enough the jealousy I have of the fight she has within her. THEN, you get into this romance that comes in like a wrecking ball. To be able to love and trust after everything Emelia has gone through is even more inspiring.
Now about Dominic.. who would not be attracted to the strength that Emelia has? It is really no surprise that he falls in love with her. The strong and rather possessive soldier that Dominic is makes the enemies to lovers fantasy that much more enjoyable. From the characters to the plot, from beginning to end, this book is fantastic. You do not need to read the first book to understand the second, but I plan on going back and devouring the first!

Luke is a determined, independent woman who has struggled through life and had to look after herself from a young age, until she met Nikolai. He has the power to see through the layers she has built up into her heart but when he declares his love to her, she bolts and runs away from his declaration as she is falling also but is scared to love him back.
Nikolai is deadly, powerful, and not someone to mess with, part of the biggest Mafia family his reputation proceeds him but when he met Lu his world has been spinning off the axis. One night when he strikes up the courage to put his feelings out on the table, she slips away.
Lu has moved on with her life until one night she witnesses something to put her in danger but who comes in like a knight, but Nikolai and he is not going to let her go this time.
This is not the first book I have read by this author and all her books are brilliant and full of thrilling intrigue and twists. Luke or Lu as she likes to be called is a strong independent woman who has looked after herself for years, but I loved the way the character of Nikolai is strong enough to let her have her space but demands the alpha male when needed. The story is fast paced and will have you at the edge of your seat.
The chemistry between the two main characters comes of the pages in waves and the intermit scenes are full of steam and passion. I really enjoyed reading this book and will definitely read more in the future.

Saving the Bellydancer is the third book in the Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII series by Debra Parmley. It is an interesting military romantic suspense with SEALs, intrigue, danger, tension, chemistry, sizzle, emotion, action, belly dancing, protective Alpha-type hero, and drama. This is another novella length story which makes it a very quick, and easy read. And as I have mentioned with some of Ms. Parmley’s other books, though this story is complete, and an interesting read, I would have liked to have read a longer, more detailed, and ‘meatier’ version of the story… because who doesn’t want to spend a longer time between the covers with a hot and hunky SEAL? That being said, I thought it was an interesting read and am curious to see what comes next. Happy Reading!

Bees In Loretta’s Bonnet is the second book in the Loretta’s Insects series by Lois Wickstrom. It is an interesting, educational, and entertaining illustrated children’s storybook, with an engaging story that even has a project step-by-step guide to building a bee nest, to attract wild bees to your garden, at the end. This is a fun story, and we get to learn all about wild bees along the way. The story is cute, while inspiring children to learn while they read. I enjoyed reading the story with my grandson, but the illustrations weren’t up to the standard of most of her other books that we’ve read, so they didn’t hold his attention like others have. Still, an interesting read, though. Happy reading!

Hit On You by Brooke May is her first dark romance- a contemporary romantic suspense with danger, intrigue, chemistry, sizzle, drama, emotion, tension, intensity, and intrigue. This is s standalone story that had me completely invested right from the get-go. As I have mentioned before, Brooke May has a real talent for crafting captivating stories that pull you in and keep you hooked. As her first dark romance I thought she nailed the tension and suspense while still casting interesting, likeable, completely developed characters who have their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. It was so easy to connect with them and invest in their story. I started reading this book just before bedtime, thinking I would read a few chapters as a wind-down before bed…..But, instead, I ended up reading well past my bedtime, hooked by the story, reading avidly just so I could find out how it all played out in the end. Looking forward to more dark romance from Ms. May! Happy Reading!

This is book 2 in the series, and I loved it just as much as thee first if not more. So much happening that keeps you hooked and guessing what happens next. I think you should read book 1 before this one so that you get the full story. It was easy going from book 1 to book 2 and I am so glad I got to read them back to back and didn’t need to wait. Jasmine and her best friend started Divine Events, so all her time is split between organizing events and keeping her best friend happy. She has nothing to complain about until James Conner and throws her world into a frenzy. Only to turn around to announce his engagement to her best friend…
The Conner family is old money and full of success, but James has a past that is a bit different. With a string of poor choices behind him, drinking and business decisions alike, he’s determined to fix things up. Unfortunately, that means marrying Cadence to get the money to start his new business and then followed by a divorce both are happy to move forward with.
Jasmine, however, wasn’t part of the plan. He can’t keep her out of his mind and wants nothing more than to be with her. Can he convince her that she has his heart while Cadence has his last name? This shot book has so much potential. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters are beautifully done. There were several errors that were hard to get past, though, and I wish we could’ve had a bit more detail on the relationship with Cadence and Jasmine.
Overall, I enjoyed this and found it to be a fairly quick read. I’d definitely read more like it.

I really enjoyed this book! I love sports romances so this called my name from the cover alone. I felt a connection to Peyton as she was down to earth, told it like it was and still showed her emotions and stuck up for herself when needed. Ryan isn’t like other pro baseball stars, he keeps himself in check and doesn’t care for the limelight he’s all about the team.
These two had sparks flying from hello and when their flame ignited it was hard to cool that down. They went through real relatable situations and that made me love them even more as it made them seem more real, so kudos to the author for your gift of word building to elicit those emotions. Can’t wait for more!

Jasmine and Cadence are best friends. Cadence is marrying James, who maintains a weirdly flirty demeanor with Jasmine in private, especially for someone who recently got engaged. Jasmine has a long time boyfriend, Bryan, but neither seem all that invested in each other or the relationship. Cadence is the typical spoiled rich girl who always wants all the attention and uses and abuses the people around her to get what she wants. She treats Jasmine like a door mat and everyone can see it except Jasmine, who just wants to be loved by someone. Throw in some business dealings and shady behavior, and it’s a twisty tale of deceit and letting go of the thorns that looked like roses. All in all, I didn’t hate the book, but I also didn’t love it. This book just had a couple of themes that play into stories I don’t particularly care for: lead female is a weak, predictable character in an overplayed trope; and a “nice/good” person wears their kindness like some martyr badge, sacrificing themselves and their happiness while making themselves the underdog in their own story.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet by her. One of the things I enjoy about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories with ease. They are romance mixed with some suspense and just hard to put down. This book is no different. It is a fast paced, well written story about a bellydancer, her ex and a Navy Seal. They each bring something different to the story which makes it entertaining to read. I enjoyed the suspense aspect of this story as well. There is great chemistry and growth throughout the story. I enjoyed how the characters made me feel as if I was part of the story. For me, they brought the story to life and just added so much to the story. I really enjoyed this story and I think you will as well. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book and I never hesitate to pick up. Her books are hot romance with characters that pop off the pages. I enjoyed reading this new book by this author. It is a hot romance story that is fast paced and hard to put down. Luke and Nikolai are such great characters. They have strong, great chemistry and growth throughout the story. I enjoyed how they pulled me into the story and made me feel as if I was part of the story. They had me hoping that they would find their happiness. A story where one night changes everything. There is also a suspense part of the story that is added to the plot. This is a great story that I highly recommend.

Boss’s Vendetta (Sicilian Gods Book 1) by Via Mari 4 Stars
Vegas is a playground where anything goes. A war is brewing between the De Rosas and the Larussios for domination of this desert oasis. It’s no holds bar after the latest De Rosa attack. The Larussio family are taking no prisoners. With the Don temporarily out of service, it’s up to Salvatore to step up and take care of the family. He’s more than ready. He’s been groomed for this role his whole life. He’s cold and ruthless. Can a fair haired doctor melt the ice around his heart?
This story is dark and delicious. Salvatore is magnificent and hot as hell. Adrianna is sexy even after a twelve hour shift in her scrubs. I fell in love with this couple. The chemistry between the two was electrifying. This series is off to a great start. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I love this book! It was such a fast read with a beautiful love story. I loved Cutter and Zarifah. The way that Cutter worked to prove to Zarifah that all men are not the same. He made it his mission to prove to her how a woman should be treated. I loved Zarifah and definitely understood why she was not ready for a relationship with anyone. Cutter made her see that the right one is worth taking a chance on. I have to say that the Green Brotherhood books have been amazing so far and I cannot wait to read more!

The story of Luke and Nickolai is one of the best love stories I’ve ever read. I kept wanting to read more and lost sleep reading this one. Watching how they both processed the past baggage of their relationship was absolutely fascinating. But also watching the trepidation with which they approached one another was amazing. I loved the character of Luke. I thought that she definitely was someone with a past that they were trying to hide. Nickolai was complex in his own way. I definitely recommend reading this one!

An enjoyable and engaging romantic suspense story which had me hooked from start to finish. Navy SEAL Tony “Cutter” Cuttino seems to have a thing for strippers, much to his Grandma’s annoyance, but Cutter says that it’s all about their grace and athleticism for him. However, until American belly dancer and ex competitive gymnast Zarifah comes along no woman has held his attention. Zarifah, or Edith, is running away from an abusive ex who is in prison for turning violent when she wouldn’t give up her dancing. Neither Cutter or Zarifah can ignore the sizzling chemistry between them, and Zarifah loves how supportive Cutter is of her belly dancing. Even Cutter’s Grandma is keen to meet Zarifah. Things turn deadly when her ex storms one of her performances with a loaded weapon, but luckily not only is there a Navy SEAL in the building, but one who will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he loves. This is a heartwarming romance with plenty of drama and suspense to keep you gripped throughout. The chemistry between the main characters came across in the narrative, and I also loved Cutter’s Grandma’s character. An entertaining read.

There is always excitement on the nights when we have a Lois Wickstrom book to read in our house. And I think this one has to be one of our favourites. It had a slightly slower start than some of her others and normally that would cause my two children to lose interest straight away. However, the fact that they not only kept reading but were actively engaged is testament to how much they love this author! The story was fantastic, as always. It was engaging, lively and fun. We all seemed to connect with it and we have already read this book multiple times. My daughter is looking forward to when we have time to follow the craft instructions provided at the end. Yet another hit but a brilliant author. I can’t wait to see what is next.
