Journeys Through TimeSpaceJourneys Through TimeSpace by James Talisman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m blown away by Mr. Talisman’s ability to create a world and characters that are out of this world. (Pun intended) hehe.
The name of the book says it all. You will be taken on a JOURNEY, THROUGH TIMESPACE with these wonderfully unique and exciting characters.
Please read the first book before you read this one to completely understand the complexity of this magical world that James has created.

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Jenique Bornman

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Have you ever been so frustrated, overtired and filled with so much RAGE that only one little thing will push you over the edge….. Well this is where Marcy finds herself. One nightmare has driven her to the brink of uncomfortable RAGE. She’s alienated everyone close to her. And now to make matters worse the man she loves has given her an ultimatum, she has to get help or it’s over (what an ass).
Just when she thinks life can’t get any worse she gets held at gunpoint…. that’s when it happens, that’s the point where her RAGE gets pushed over the edge of no return.
But as luck will have it, that’s when she meets the one person that might just be able to get her back from the brink of disaster.

This is a, on the edge of your seat, nail bitting, page turning kind of book.
Linda Burson knows how to hook you into a book coma. Marcy is a very well thought out character. The storyline definitely leaves you wondering. Don’t blink or you will miss something and believe me you will not want to miss anything.
Great start to a great series.

And what makes this even better is you het the first 3 books in 1!!!!
That’s a bonus because believe my you’re not gonna want to stop after the first book

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Jenique Bornman

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Usually when I get to the 4th book in a series I’m kind of just reading it because my OCD about finishing things is compelling me to….. BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH CURSED TOUCH. Renee does it again. She takes two characters and a story line and just propels it out of this world with her creativity.
Even though this isn’t my favorite of the Broderick Brothers I was still extremely invested in this story.
Who would have thought that your neighbor’s bad luck could end up being your *right place at the right time*.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance)Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance by Jae Dawson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jae Dawson…… bravo!!
This was such a good story, definitely my new favorite out of the series.
Blake and Holly shows us that even when life gives you lemons you can make lemonade.
This book is about two people who come from two different very tragic pasts and how by finding each other they heal.
I absolutely loved that the book wasn’t just sad and filled with drama, the humor in the book definitely gave it an extra layer.
Stunning book

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Jenique Bornman

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1)Unlikely in Love by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s impossible for two broken people to be in a relationship, or is it.

Wyatt James Holloway did three tours overseas and he’s seen the worst of the worst. He doesn’t really believe that there’s allot of good left in the world.
He really struggles with PTSD and the scar on his face is a constant reminder of the stuff he just wants to put in his past.

Annabelle Cleaver just lost the person she loved the most in the entire world. Granny was the one who took her in when even her mother didn’t want her and now, now that person is gone and she has to pick herself up and through her Granny the craziest “Life Celebration”. Even with all the planning she can’t help but feel lost.

In steps Mr. Hot Army Muscles, Wyatt Holloway, her old high school crush and he wants a job, and what does Annie do? She gives him one of course.

The sexual tension can be cut with a knife and the more the work together the more they start to feel for each other. Will these two broken people be able to heal each other or will old scars and relationships break them?

The reason I gave this book a five star rating was purely because of the way it was written and the way the story flows. The story progresses at a nice slow and easy pace. They don’t just jump into bed the first time they see each other. As the story flows you think that this relationship is moving perfectly and just when you think everything is perfect Olivia surprises us and throws us a curve ball. (and makes me stay up past two in the morning just to finish it.)

Definitely found a new author to follow.

Awakening (The Journals Trilogy Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. Earl – Review by Jenique Bornman

Awakening Book # Three (The Journals Trilogy 3)Awakening Book # Three by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first time I read the ending (yes first, this is my 4th time reading this book but first listen) I was completely blown away by the talent D.M. Earl possess. And now add to that the amazing narration Torii Alaniz does and it just brings it to a whole new level.

D.M. Earl wrapped up the story in an expertly crafted way that satisfies readers and crazy fans like myself.
If you’re interested in this book and you haven’t read the first two I would highly recommend you read those first. But be warned…… grab onto your seat you’re in for a wild ride.

Kingdom of War (Kingdom Journals Volume 4) AUDIO BOOK by Tricia Copeland – Review by Jenique Bornman

Kingdom of War (Kingdom Journals #4)Kingdom of War by Tricia Copeland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Witches and Vampires have been at it forever and I thought that I have read all there is to this trope but then Tricia Copeland comes out of nowhere and surprises me with this gem of a series.
Kingdom of war is the 4th book in the series and I do recommend that you start this series from the beginning.
This is Hunter’s story and Tricia took us on an epic adventure with Hunter as he lives up to his vow of protecting the witch lines.
The character development is great and the storyline is well thought out. There was one or two places where I got a bit confused but it didn’t take away from the story.
The narrator also did a great job (not the voice I would fit with Hunter but still he did an amazing job)

Just when you think an Author is heading one way BAM she surprises you with an epic twist in a story that you thought you knew everything about. These characters had to work their asses of to reach their HEA
Dakota Willink did a superb job with wrapping up this amazing trilogy.
In the end I’ve grown to like the female narrator more.

After the exciting end of the first book I just had to jump into the second book and I’m really happy to say that I love it more than the first.
the characters have definitely grown from the first book and their relationship is soooooo complicated but in a good way.
Well done Dakota!!!
The narrator has grown on me from the first.

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance) (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley – Review by Jenique Bornman

Moonlit Kiss : A Venice Romance (Moonlit Destination Series)Moonlit Kiss : A Venice Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not surprising at all that Amy McKinley yet again blew my mind with this breathtaking story of love and a little bit of suspense and intrigue.
This Author just has a way of describing the scenery of the book that you don’t see every day.
You can feel her heart and soul in her writing.
And Moonlit Kiss is yet again a great example of Amy’s amazing work.
Moonlit Kiss is the story of Gianna and Sergio and it takes place in the beautiful world of Venice.

Awwww this was such a sweet book. I really had fun reading this to my son. It isn’t just a storybook but a great lesson to teach your kids. The illustration is also absolutely amazing.
Mornin takes notice that animals and birds are going extinct and then decides to start a campaign to bring this global crisis to everyone’s attention.

Miss Understanding (The Miss Series Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Aubrey Bondurant – Review by Jenique Bornman

Miss Understanding (Miss, #1)Miss Understanding by Aubrey Bondurant
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, well, well…….. I definitely need a cold shower after this!!!
Miss Aubrey Bondurant you just made yourself a new fan!! Some tropes have been done A LOT, enemies to lovers are one of them BUT Miss Understanding is sooooo freaking good I didn’t mind it at all.
And don’t get me started on the Narration, both these narrators are new to me and I’m definitely going to look for more books by them.
The characters are AMAZING but I have to admit that I was screaming at Liam a couple of times and I might have called him a few bad names. That just shows you how good the writing is….. when you have emotional outbursts towards a character!!!

Heart of Stone (The Stone Series Volume 1) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Jenique Bornman

Heart of Stone (The Stone Series #1)Heart of Stone by Dakota Willink
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I definitely got some Fifty Shades of Gray vibes from this book. BUT it is also different Kristina is a much more complex character with some depth and layers.
Alexander is yummmmm with a capital YUM.

What I loved most about this is that Kristina isn’t the sweet innocent character you would expect, she also has a complicated past.

My only critique is that I struggled with the female narrator’s voice when she did the other characters. But it doesn’t take anything away from the story.

BRINK OF DENIAL (SONS OF SINDICATO BOOK 2) by SONYA JESUS AND CAM JOHNS – Review by Jenique Bornman

Brink of Denial (Sons of Sindicato #1)Brink of Denial by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The dynamic duo is back at it with the next book in the Sons of Sindicato series.
This time we follow the love story of Mila and Dane who are both Mafia royalty.
Again Johns and Jesus exceeded all my expectations with this book.
Dare I say, but I might JUST A LITTLE love these characters more than Braelynn and Seth.
The character development is absolutely amazing and the storyline is great with the will they won’t they feel. I always say that there’s nothing wrong with a little hate sex (wink)

The Earl's Scandalous WagerThe Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not completely what I expected…… IN A GOOD WAY!!!
The mystery and suspense of “Who” could be targetting them was an excellent plot twist. It definitely brought something different to the story.
Used as collateral Emily definitely didn’t see her night going from a normal outing to ending up married, did she….
Woodson is a new Author to me and writes historical Romance in the more traditional way (the way I like) I’m definitely checking out more of her books

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Jenique Bornman

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I had to go back and double check that this book was only 108 pages.
I truly think that it takes a huge amount of talent to put so much “story” into just 108 pages.
From the very first uncomfortable moment in Wexler’s office through all the tuff times and ooooo so sexy parts this book had me hooked.
Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus make one dynamic duo of talent. The flow of the book is AMAZING.
I’m extremely excited to see how these two continue their co-writing.

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven Series Book 3) by AJ Renee – Review by Jenique Bornman

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Whispers is the 3rd book in the Broderick Coven series but it’s the first one I’ve read. So it can be read as a standalone.
The doctor dolittle vibes and the cover drew me to this book. I love the authors writing stile so I’m definitely checking out the first 2 books after this.
I never would have thought that a male witch could be so sexy. But this kindhearted man with his protective personality just gave me all the feels and was exactly what and who Claudia needs.
I absolutely loved it and I’m excited to read how this coven started.

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss Book 1) by Carmen Richter – Review by Jenique Bornman

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss #1)My Lips Are Sealed by Carmen Richter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Not what I was expecting when I read the synopsis. BUT not in a bad way.
Did not expect all the emotional ups and downs. WOW so many feelings. I would say that this book is a mashup of a taboo romance and coming of age book and added to that there’s also some mystery sprinkled in there with it all. So basically an ice cream sundae kind of book.
I really loved the storyline of the book, the only negative aspect is that I found it a bit “wordy”, some of the parts were a bit repetitive. But it doesn’t take away from the story.
I’m definitely getting book 2 and I’m excited to see there’s already 10 books in the series.

Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 2) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Jenique Bornman

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love has this way of finding us in the most unexpected places and in the strangest times.
Eye of the Storm is an excellent example of this.
Amy McKinley blew me away yet again with her amazing talent at world building and storytelling. Who would have thought that a soldier with amnesia and a woman on the run could have so much chemistry.
Some of the parts in the book were a bit out of the realm of possibility BUT that’s why it’s fiction, and it doesn’t take away from the story. It works
This is the second book of the series but can be read completely as a standalone.
Regan Brown is an excellent narrator and this book proves it yet again.
Excellent, action packed listen.

I’ve fallen in love with these characters and it feels like I’ve been with them on their journey through all their ups and all their downs.
This is yet again a nail biting, suspenseful installment of the love storie between Lucca (the wear’s his heart on his sleeve, dominant) and Lexi (the broken but Survivor). If you’re looking for a page turner this is it!!!

Flowers in December AUDIO BOOK by Jane Suen – Review by Jenique Bornman

I read Flowers in December back in 2018. Now listening to it and rereading my previous review, I can see how much I have grown. Back in 2018 I hadn’t gone through the heartache of losing someone.
So today 3 years later I look at this story with new eyes and understanding. It really touched me on a whole new level.
Add to that the smooth calming tone of the narrator, this time around I really have a greater appreciation for the book.
Thank you for this.

Exhale and Move On AUDIO BOOK by K.L. Shandwick – Review by Jenique Bornman

Exhale and Move OnExhale and Move On by K.L. Shandwick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

K.L. Shandwick yet again surpasses my expectations.
In this unexpected dare I say inner struggle with his sexuality the rock star changes my mind about him.
I developed a love hate relationship early on with these characters and I’m still undecided. BUT that’s a good thing, it shows how extremely well developed K.L. Shandwick’s characters are. They are multilayered with complex emotions that jump of the pages.
Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

The narrator is new to me, I struggled a bit to get used to his voice, but maybe it’s just because it’s the first book I’ve listened to from him.

READY FOR FLYNN, PART 1 (READY FOR FLYNN SERIES) AUDIO BOOK by K.L. SHANDWICK – Review by Jenique Bornman

Ready For Flynn, Part 1 (Ready For Flynn #1)Ready For Flynn, Part 1 by K.L. Shandwick
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

K.L. Shandwick is fast becoming one of my go-to authors.
Ready for Flynn is an AMAZING coming of age story with lots of emotional ups and downs. K.L. Shandwick takes you on a superbly crafted emotional ride with young Valerie’s love story.
The character development is perfect, as the book takes you from a young puppy crush  to love without borders.
I especially appreciated the development of Valerie. The way she changes from a you naive girl into a strong independent young woman, but she her heart doesn’t harden after all the turmoil she’s gone through.

Anne Marie also did an amazing job with the narration. Her transition between characters is flawless.

One of my favorites of this year.

My Sweet GI AUDIO BOOK by T.L Wainwright – Review by Jenique Bornman

My Sweet GIMy Sweet GI by T.L. Wainwright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First I want to applaud the narrator, Rooke did a superb job with the narration of this book. The switch between characters and accents is some of the best I’ve heard. Excellent work.

Now time to give praise to T.L Wainwright for this amazing story. I would never have imagined that such a sweet and sexy story could take part during World War two. Love is the last thing you associate with World War two.
Wainwright’s characters come to life and I found that while listening to the book the scenes played out in my imagination like a film. Especially Jenny, her innocence comes across strong in the beginning of the book and she definitely grew into a perfect MC.

Great book!!!!

Maggie (Maggie Trilogy Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Mya O’Malley – Review by Jenique Bornman

MaggieMaggie by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I read the synopsis of this book I pictured it a certain way….. Well that will teach me to never judge a book by its synopsis, hahaha. Mya took me on a very unexpected journey with this intriguing story about two ladies who kind of experienced the same kind of troubling relationship.
Mya kept me guessing the whole time and believe me I had A LOT of theories.

Emily also does a good job with the narration but some places I had to do a double take to make sure which character was speaking.

All and All an AMAZING first book from a new Author to me.

OMW I absolutely fell in love with Layla!!! She has so much spunk and sass. Poor Dereck had his hands full with her (and not just figuratively).
Relentless is my first book by this Author and also the first one of this series that I’ve read. So it can be read as a standalone but I’m definitely going to read the first 3 books because the characters overlap in the books.
This was a perfect introduction to a new Author for me!! She has an amazing writing style (which I hope transfers to her other books)
The drama, action and sexiness of this story shines through the characters.
I’m really excited that to dive into the other books

Fake Fiancé (A Second Chance Office Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Jenique Bornman

I read this book a while back but when I saw that it was on audible  I just had to get it, and i was not disappointed

Regan Brown did an excellent job with the narration!!
Here is my original review on the story

WOW what a rollercoaster ride…. the push and pull between these two was off the charts, chemistry out of this world.
I can’t believe how much Amy McKinley was able to put into only 158 pages. She put a jampacked story into a Novella. The character development is superb and the storyline great.
This was my first read by this Author but I’m definitely going back for more

Well knock me down with that ending why don’t you miss Brandy.
I did not see that one coming. Brandy has an intriguing writing style…. I was scared when it started with the twists and turns that I might get lost but with the way she writes I could follow along perfectly.
The only critique I have is that the first bit of the book needs a bit of editing work BUT it doesn’t take anything away from the story.
