Broken Chains by Karina Kantas – Review by Jennifer Reimer

Broken ChainsBroken Chains by Karina Kantas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing, I really enjoyed so much. At first, I was really trying to figure out what was going on and thought for a second the book was going to go in a different direction then what it did. The way it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and wanting to know what happened next, I just couldn’t put it down. There is a lot of abuse and sexual contact, so there very well could be triggers for someone that has been thou this, especially for a woman. But the way Liz handles herself and fights thou all that she is put thou and finds out with her family, she is such a strong and amazing woman. Macros love for her thou really shows her that she can overcome anything that happens or will happen to her. I’m so glad I picked this book and read it. The twists and turns the action and love story all in one. I so enjoyed this book and the story it told.

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C. L. Schneider – Review by Jennifer Reimer

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing, it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, I could not put it down. It is well written and full of interesting, well rounded characters. It involves love, passion, lies and deception. It has action-packed, mystery and dragons, who doesn’t like a book with dragons.
Dahlia Nite is a century-old lyrriken (dragon/human hybrid) with powers of empathy related to grief and trauma. she is a kick-ass fighter and protector of the human world from the various creatures that go bump in the night, she is a very strong heroness is a butt-kicking assassin with attitude that I absolutely fell in love with. yet she has some insecurities and mistakes that make her very relatable and likable. There are so many fight scenes that are written so vividly that it felt like you were really there watching then. This book is amazing with great world-building, lifelike characters and epic battles you will not forget.
I can’t wait to read what comes next

A Spell of RowansA Spell of Rowans by Byrd Nash
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. I think I grabbed this book having high expectations with it, I read a lot of fantasy, magic, supernatural so I think maybe I was thinking it would be different then what it really was. Don’t get me wrong the book itself was very good, the plot line is just as good and really fits the characters the conflicts made me really think and wonder what was going to happen. I was intrigued by the characters in this novel. With a wonderful mix of personalities, how amazing of friends and family that they all seem to be. The characters in the book you can’t not enjoy, trying to fix issues that came up, problem solving, and how they all got along as good friends and family. The flow and the way you can easily read this book, it was a very short read for me. I really thought there was going to be more magic and supernatural not a book about black mail and murder. It was an enjoyable book on a low-key kind of way.

The Elements of the Crown (The Elements of Kamdaria, #1)The Elements of the Crown by Kay L. Moody
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I actually really enjoyed this, and I’m intrigued enough to want to pick up the next part of the series. This book is amazing! I didn’t even notice that it is 4 novellas in one, the story flows seamlessly and all together. This young fantasy reads quickly. It contains everything from, mild romance, a female lead, magic, an exciting story and it has multiple conflicts which keeps you reading. This is a story with a strong female lead. We follow Talise as she grows from a young 7-year-old child all the way to becoming a 17-year-old young woman. Talise comes from an area called The Storm, which is like the dower class. But she is determined to win the coveted title of Master Shaper so that she can escape poverty for good. Her powers are to shape the elements – Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Aaden, another new student, is just as equal to her abilities, and so they are tested together for the right to stay in The Crown. These two gave the story life and it was fun and easy to read. Lots of twists and turns in this book that pulled me in and kept me hooked till the end. You don’t want to miss what happens in this story and to these amazing characters. This is a great story to pick up and I highly recommend it.

Born to Fall (Can’t Resist You – Book 2) by Brittany Anne – Review by Jennifer Reimer

Born to Fall (Can't Resist You, #2)Born to Fall by Brittany Anne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was another incredible book by Brittany Anne’s Can’t resist you series. I though ally enjoyed the first one so when I seen there was a book 2, I was super excited to read this one, and I was not disappointed. This book starts off after book 2, the characters are well written and the main points of who they are, are set. There was a lot at stake for both characters, Derek and Julia. This was so well written that It was like I could actually feel the feelings that were being written about. How scared or unsure about something, the sadness but the joy, it gave me all the feelings. I was hooked in with this book right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. I really can’t wait for more adventures from this series. Amazing read, and page turner for sure.

I honestly have to say I wasn’t expecting what I did when I was going to read this book, I did read book one and have to say this book 2 is nothing like this one. I enjoyed it so much more and was very surprised on how much I did enjoy it. this book very doesn’t do much with space which is something I was very surprised by but had a lot of time travel in it to try and fix things that are coming up in the future to correct with civilization. It was a page turner and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen next. I honestly would read another book in this series if there will be. Very impressed and very happy that I picked this one, was not disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing, I loved it. I couldn’t put it down. The way this book was written it almost makes you feel like you are standing there and watching everything happen. Trying to make the world a better place for everyone and trying to get the kingdom out from the control of his parents, was just amazing. Nix is an amazing character and is so well written, that he is the hero if the story. The control his parents have over everyone is such a fear base that no one was standing up, but betrayed from his own family, Nix tries to make it right. I really hope that there will be more to this story. I enjoyed it and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

This Book was very entertaining to read. I believe the book did go faster then what it should have been, I do feel like there should have been a little more detail in certain scenes or situations, I felt like it was moving very fast. A woman that has to take care of a little baby girl that is wanted for what she is and this woman has to protect her and take care of her, gets into some situations. She keeps her safe and still learning to care for a baby. It was a very enjoyable short read, and do recommend it, a good start to a series can’t wait for the next book.

Another amazing book. I liked how this one was more in the court room and what she listens too and hears and dose. Merissa Racine so knowable about what happens in the court room that it makes you really feel like you’re really sitting there. The way Lauren gets into every situation really has you on your seat wondering what is going to happen. I couldn’t put this book down just like the first one. It was very enjoyable, and I can’t wait for if there will be another one. Also, if you haven’t read the first one that’s ok you can still read this one and understand the plot and everything that goes on without knowing what happened in the first book. Recommend and enjoyed this book very much.

The Girl and The Demon (The Girl and The Raven, #3)The Girl and The Demon by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great book in this series. The problems that arise and how Lucy is able to figure it out and solve is so amazing. Lucy a very smart strong welled girl that doesn’t let anything or anyone stand in her way. I love how Lucy can work thou a problem and figure out how to solve it. This book was filled with demons, backstabbing, butyral, and heart ache. But it also is filled with love from her uncles and friends, good ending, friendship, compassion, and understanding. These books feel so much like your back in high school, the way everyone is, friendships, relationships and how things will work out. How Lucy needs to learn to control herself without having to tell anyone what she can do and what she is, you can almost feel the pain that if she does if she would loss everything, but when it does her friends are so helpful and understanding that this friendship will be strong to come. I really hope there will be more to this series and the problems and fun that Lucy will bring in her next adventures.

This was a really good book to a start to a series. It is a little slow but its really building into a series that I know will be great. The issues that happen in the book are really telling a story that will be amazing. A guardian to a artifact that is century’s old and to protect it his grandpa goes missing. People showing up that want to find his grandpa too. And finding out what this artifact does was a great build up. Can’t wait for book two.

I was very impressed with this book. I really enjoyed it. I took a bit for me to understand what was going on at first, but it all gets explained in the end which was really awesome. The way the world has started to be taken over and a rebellion like group to save them all, well right now just a girl at first. The way the characters really know how to fight is very well written. Then know what they ant and how to stand up for what they want. And they’ll fight for it. So enjoyed this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t know if I can put into words how amazing this book is, not only were the first two amazing this one really put this series over the edge. The issues that come up with what Vanessa has to go thou and then trying to figure out how to do it is just totally wonderful. Grey’s mother really hates having Vanessa there because now she doesn’t have a hold on Grey to make him do what she wants her too, and Vanessa has pretty much put a stop to it. I would honestly call her a monster-in-law, if you know what I mean. Once again, the romance and love in this book just pours off the pages. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one.

This book was incredible! This book kept me on the edge on my seat. If you love crime and mysteries, you will not be disappointed with reading this book. This started out as the wrong place at the wrong time right at the beginning which catches you right away and takes hold and doesn’t let go and when your done your wanting more. There were so many twists and turns that leave you guessing ever time about what is going to happen. A crime with a number of suspects kept me guessing, a girl caught in the middle and no way out. Its we’ll written and really put together. The amount of detail to the foreshadowing left me to my own imagination. The way the author understands the courtroom and procedure is very well written. And finally, a great ending that tied everything together that explained it all. A very suspenseful and wonderful read, I highly recommend this one! I really loved this book. I’m anxiously waiting for more from this new author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I didn’t think I would really enjoy this book like I did and became engrossed in Tricia’s magical world of the Fae realm in Middle Earth. This book is a plot twisting action packed page-turner of a book. It is well plot written, with lots of action, excitement, danger, intrigue, infatuation love, conspiracy, and doubled by plotting, and backstabbing. Titania is a smart, strong willed and caring. She had to grow up fast in her position and become very brave and to learn to stand up for herself to prove herself over and over to show that she can do this, even thou she is only 15 years old. Dealing with panic attacks, she is a well written character. I recommend this book; it was an excellent read.

I loved the first book in this series, I was excited for the second one as well and it did not disappoint. This book starts off right before Donovan and Shirley are about to get married. But Shirley finds out she is pregnant. Unfortunately, the Coalition is mad about this and the couple has to go on the run to protect their unborn child.
This book was so well put together, from literally everything and anything that happened it was amazing from start to finish. It was a great read. it is a little bit lower key than the previous one in the series.
It is an amazing read and written perfectly. If you enjoyed the first one, I truly think that you need to read this one too! I highly recommend this book, well worth a read! Seelie Kay is an amazing author and did an amazing job on this series.

This book was an interesting and fun read. I really enjoyed the twist it did with the issues that come up trying to find out who was killing lawyers and finding out that one of these lawyers was a vampire. Not only is he protruded as a good lawyer, top bachelor and all-around good-looking guy. This guy was very thorough on finding out who did this to him. He’s love and the romance with and for his girlfriend was so well written and passionate that I actually enjoyed reading about the steamy parts when they were together. This is a short fun read that is a must.

This book was well written, and the writing style pulls you into the story right away and holds on till you can’t stop reading. The characters of the story mother and son were interesting to read about, and very real like it makes you wonder if this was a book really written about someone. There was a good originality to these characters and story. This story is twisted and complex which wrote a vividly detailed about how there is a dark side to religion. Between the nun’s ability to hurt you with their thoughts and Gabriel and his wife’s vision, it was a rollercoaster of a read as it kept me guessing till the end. There are moments when I felt chills about what I was reading, and I was on the edge more then once.

It was so well written I really thought that what I was reading is what happened, but boy was I wrong. This book was so good I really want to more, that I will be looking into other books that she has written. Such and amazing suspenseful, twisted book that I loved. Raven’s Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber – Review by Jennifer Reimer

Raven Woman's TavernRaven Woman’s Tavern by Laura Koerber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is set 10 years into the future, it painted a dark bleak picture of what humanity has done to the earth, and what it would look like if we kept on the same path as we do now. The Raven Woman is a shapeshifting tavern owner who cares and looks out for her community, while watching humans destroy her habitat. An interesting group come into town accusing the people here of something they apparently did, the town stands together and these people leave, they end up lost and not knowing where they were going, while one guy leaves to make it on his own, he comes across some disturbing things that make you wonder if what he’s seeing is real or if he is imagining it all. the viewpoint of the story changed from so many different characters; it took me a bit to get a handle on who was who. but It is a well-written and thought-out story that I enjoyed and was worth sticking with it till the end. This book had lots of twists and turns. I am not fully sure if I understood what was real and what was illusion, I am not sure if that was the author’s intention, but it made for an interesting story.

Scarlet Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Jennifer Reimer

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was such a fun book to read. Princess Rowan is most likely the black sheep of the family who has the right amount of sass and is an out-spoken, strong willed, independent princess who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble with her cousin Davin usually by her side. She falls in love with Lord Theodore who is everything a backwards Socairan Lord should be but finds a soft spot for the fairy Princess.
Scarlet Princess is a romantic, high fantasy adventure that I enjoyed so much that I could not put down. The writing and editing are great, allowing the story to be truly immersive. The twist and turns that this book took was incredible and always made you guess as to what was going to happen next.
This book leaves you on a cliff hanger and you will be wanting more. It was an amazing read, and so very easy to get sucked into the story line and get lost in. I love how the story was written, which is what captivated me into it. The writing and technique truly spoke for itself and I anxiously am awaiting to see what unfolds in the next book in this amazing series! I would recommend this book and look forward to the next.

I really enjoyed the little activities and information that was in the book about children being scared and what to do, as an early learning childhood educator this really made the book even better. Learning these things with your child is something that can help then with everything in life. An all-around great children’s book.
