THE HUSBAND (21ST Century Courtesan #4) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Jessica Leombruno

HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4)HUSBAND by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s been a while since I read a book in the 21st Century Courtesan series, I forgot how my emotions will be all over the place. The Husband was a little darker than the other 3 books and boy, was I on the edge of my seat most of the time. I’m not a thriller/suspense reader but Pamela’s writing has me enjoying Evie’s journey. So happy there will be another book and that we won’t have to want too long to see how Evie’s story will end. Highly recommend reading this series from the beginning to understand and appreciate the writing.

Relentless: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 4) by Via Mari – Review by Jessica Leombruno

RelentlessRelentless by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Suspense, dominance, chemistry with a sassy dancer are the words that come to mind when I think about Relentless by Via Mari. Dereck and Layla’s story continued in a world that we were introduced to in Auctioned, highly recommend you read that book first (well, every book by Via). Will Dereck be able to protect Layla from the underworld? And I bet you wouldn’t see that twist coming either.

I’m not surprised about how this book consumed my afternoon/night of reading because every book by this author has me blocking out the world, wanting to read her words. I’m so ready for the Billionaire Bodyguards series to continue with Elusive.

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait book 1)is my first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett.

Quinn Winters is looking for a change and she is going to try her hand at singing. She couldn’t ask for someone to help better than the next King of Country Music – Tucker McGinnis. But Tucker gets a little more than is expected when Quinn’s past crashes into her present.

The emotions and development of the characters were good in this book. But I felt there were times that things moved a little too slow, that it had me setting the book down and coming back to it.

The Inheritance, The Story of an Unlikely Submissive AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Jessica Leombruno

This isn’t my first book by India Kells but this is my first audiobook and let me tell you Antonio Turner‘s voice in this book was spot on.

Lani is a struggling artist wanting to make it on her own. When she hears of the news of her uncle’s passing and her name is mentioned in his will, she thought this might be her chance to get her studio. What she didn’t expect was that she would have tasks given to her by a stranger to full fill before getting her inheritance. What would you do for ten million dollars?

Even though this book is less than 3 hours long, India knows how to grip her readers with some steamy scenes.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jessica Leombruno

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie and my first book by this author. I loved that this book is set in Nashville and this was a good start to this family-oriented series.

Zach was determined to be with Regan and Regan wasn’t too sure she wanted a relationship with her boss. So not your typical office romance this one had a hint of suspense. Even the secondary characters were interesting. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Loyalty & Lies is the sixth book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This series also seems to bring some sexiness to each couple.

Calvin and Paisley are going on Babycation – vacation before their first baby. Calvin’s surprising his wife with a trip to Spicetopia (an adult theme park) for a sexy good time, And why not add a little interesting adventure to that list. I didn’t see that twist coming.

I like how Phoebe adds some past couples in her books to keep us updated. I always enjoy my trips to this sexy island.

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Auctioned is the third book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. I have to stop being surprised by how much I love Via Mari writing. Every book I read always seems to keep me hanging on the edge till the last word. Damian and Bryanna’s story was nail-biting and super sexy that I want more from them.

Damian is hired to find Jenny’s niece, Bryanna but what he wasn’t expecting was mixing business with pleasure. And Bryanna will do anything to save her family even being auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Like every story, there were characters that I can’t wait to get a closer look at and returning ones that I needed an update on. I need more info on Bryanna’s brother (please!).

Best of my LoveBest of my Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Best of My Love by N.D. Jackson, started slow for me but then sent me on a roller coaster of emotions. Dre and Erik had been through a lot with their years together and apart but can they give it a second chance at love. Yes, Erik did a horrible thing to Dre years ago, but he was a young, stupid kid who did learn from his mistakes but I don’t think I could forgive something like that. The author’s writing of these characters was strong and powerful but there are just some unforgivable things. I also felt that the ending was missing something.

I love a good second chance romance and this book has everything that I love about them. Seconds by Cam Johns is part of the Internet Famous series. This retelling of Rapunzel with a dark twist will have karma biting back. I wasn’t expecting this book to have me so intrigued and have me wanting more. Braxton Knight has a dark backstory that will break your heart but watching him fight to pull his life together was heartwarming.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Just thinking about this book is bring tears to my eyes. Learning to Live by Kira Adams was emotional, beautiful, and unexpected. As this was a new author to me, I didn’t know what to expect but I can tell you that what I just read was not it. Ciera and Topher were two people that should have never been friends but they were what the other needed.

Kira brought me to a full emotional state reading this story. Her writing made me feel like I was alongside these characters and feeling everything they were going through. I was an ugly crying mess after reading that ending.

Nobody KnowsNobody Knows by Kyra Lennon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nobody Knows by Kyra Lennon is my first book by this author. This rockstar friends-to-lovers romance has me wanting more from these characters.

Ellie, Drew, and Jason have been friends since childhood, but what will happen when two of them start having more than friend feelings for one another? Oh did I forget to mention that Drew and Jason are brothers and in a band together. Intense emotions between Ellie, Drew, and Jason. Ellie trying to play the peacekeeper between the brothers but her feelings for Drew always put her in a difficult position.

Knowing that I don’t have to wait that long to read Jason’s book is great, I can’t wait to see him get his HEA.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

At All by Mindy McKinley is the final book in the Adams Brothers series. We all have been waiting to see Seb fall in love because he swore he would never settle down. And boy did Seb not see Maelie coming (literally!).

This was another great story, that has an instant attraction with the slow love/hate burn that will set your e-reader on fire. With, of course, the other Adams brothers giving Seb a hard time about finding the right girl.

I highly recommend this family connected series with lots of laughs and great romantic chemistry.

Askew Ever After: A Limited Edition Romance Collection has a wide variety of novellas written in different troupes. This review is for Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne.

Paper Love is a “do I risk heart again for love” romance. The way Ben used origami to woo Joss was pretty original. Ben and Joss’s story is something I normally wouldn’t read (being a little too sweet) but I enjoyed this change. Aubrey’s writing was great and easy to love these characters. I would read another book by this author in the future.

We already saw Dom find his love in Lula, now it’s Mason’s turn. Mason and Gabi are just too cute together, they have great chemistry, and the build-up to them getting together was full of sparks. Perrie and Ash have a past that I felt like I was missing something but I was intrigued to see where this story would go. And I’m glad I stuck with them. Fighting For Us by Bella Emy is the first book in the Love is Worth Fighting For series and a first for me by this author. This fast-paced, sweet single parent romance with have you wanting more.

Carissa has given up on men until she saw a picture of an MMA fighter that had “Guns” for days. One night Carissa’s ex was giving her a hard time and here comes Lorenzo to the recuse. Spicetopia Boxed Set (Books #1-4)Spicetopia Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spicetopia Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander is book 1-4 in the worlds of Spicetopia – a remote island in the Caribbean where all your wildest, sexy dreams come true. I highly recommend this series my naughty BookNerds.

Sugar & Spice

Sugar & Spice doesn’t even begin to describe this book. Cy has never had a “REAL” job and his family has him going uncover in the family theme park. When Cy first lays eyes on Red Velvet Queen “Jolie” he has to know more about this beautiful woman. But will this single mother be able to forgive Cy when/if she finds out who he is? All the characters were wonderful but there was just something about Cy and Jolie chemistry that made them click.

Virtue & Vice

Moon and Katja have been asked to move and help start this adult-only theme park with Cy and Jolie who they just meet, will they take the offer Cy has given them? I thought the first book was HOT but Phoebe stepped up her game in this book. These characters are great; I went into this book not knowing what was going to happen between these couples but I’m glad everything is working out between them.

Fire & Ice

Enya and Neve are not big fans of one another but when they get stuck together for work, can they make their new relationship work while working together. This sizzling fast-paced suspense will have you turning the pages and not wanting it to end. If you are like me and like your romances with side kinkiness then you need to read this series.

Naughty & Nice

It’s the wedding that we have been waiting for at Spiceopia. Natalie Roux is feeling the pressure to put on the first big event which just happens to be her boss’s wedding. But it’s the officiate Micah Greene that will have Natalie thinking naughty and not so nice thoughts. Each book in this series has brought something different but Natalie and Micah might be my favorite. There was just something about them that I couldn’t put this book down. I can’t wait to see if there will be more books for this series.

Love On The Ropes (Love in Action, #1)Love On The Ropes by Aviva Vaughn

Love on the Ropes is a super cute slow burn co-worker frenemy rom-com. This was as enjoyable as Aviva Vaughn’s last series. Clint Davenport and Erin Hung work for the same morning drive-time radio show Wake Up America “Woo-Ah”. Clint and Erin’s relationship was a little rocky in the beginning with her friendship with Fern and Clint with his awkward nervous talk.

But the laughs are what made their story lovable from the bantering to the random names instead of curse words. But it Avia’s attention to details that makes me feel like I’m right there in the book with her characters. I can’t wait for more of Clint and Erin and to see other co-workers (Fern Haddad)from this series find their HEA.
