Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts, #1)Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher was this wonderful second chance romance about two childhood friends. Thomas “Cappy” Capshaw and Emeline “Em” Fischer spent every summer together before Cappy left for college. After year apart, Cappy has returned to Sanderville Beach to close up his grandfather’s gallery, what he didn’t expect to run into Em after all this time. Will Em forgive Cappy for never keeping in touch and why does Em feel like home more than New York?

Cappy and Em story pulled at all the right heartstring for me. I loved that even after his death Lawrence Capshaw was playing matchmaker with these two. I really wanted to hate Fiona but I ended up feeling sorry for her and looking forward to a book for her to get a HEA. Just like Kelly’s last series, she hooked me from the first chapter and has me wanting more of these characters.

Hate to Love You (Baker’s Bunch Book 1) by Lily Ryan – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Hate to Love You (Baker's Bunch Book 1)Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hate to Love You by Lily Ryan was a good introduction to this author for me. This new adult forbidden best friend’s little sister romance, kept me turning the paper to find out what was going to happen next. Cole and Samantha have been in each other’s life for about 8 years, but the day Samantha’s brother over-dozed is when things changed for them. It’s the unforgettable question of will they or won’t they start a relationship? Are they going to hide or tell the brother?

Young love can be so confusing and insecurities can make you do some stupid things. Cole and Samantha had a lot of ups and downs throughout this book that can make your head spin but once things were out in the open, things came together in a good way. I would love to see some of the secondary characters get a book and get updates on Cole and Samantha. This could be a good start to a college romance series.

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1) by Shae Banks – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Things We Lost (Loving Locksley Book 1)Things We Lost by Shae Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Things We Lost by Shae Banks is the first book in the Loving Locksley series and as my first read by this author, I was surprised how fast I was attached to Nathalie and Jason’s story. After thirteen years of never knowing the real reason as to why Jason “ghosted” Nathalie, can she forgive him? And will Nathalie give their relationship a second chance?

This couple had a lot of cute moments leading up to the first coffee date. Jason won me over just by everything he did or said to prove that Nathalie could trust him with her heart. I would agree with some reviewers that some parts of the book were predictable, but I read a lot of romance books. I see certain things and I think I know how things are going to playing out but that didn’t stop me from really liking this story and wanting more from these characters and author. I really want a book about Nathalie’s best friend Haylie.

P.S. I loved the British slang in this book.

Rewind by Rowan Shaw – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Rewind (Rewind #1)Rewind by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rewind is the debut novel by Rowan Shaw. This M/M romance was something a little different then I have read before. Rowan’s writing was so truthful and emotional that I wanted to fight alongside these characters.

We all know there are still people in the world that don’t understand the LGBT community or the hearing imparted but they need to learn to shut their mouths about things they don’t understand. But this book is more than that, it about LOVE. LOVE is LOVE no matter what or who you are. Love is also more than hearing or being deaf.

Florian and Enzo are two men looking for a second chance at love and this was a beautiful journey of that love. It broke my heart to read what happened to this couple while they were still in High School. And how their own family treated them, is something no children should have to go through. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Rafferty (Default Distraction #2)Rafferty by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rafferty is the second book in the Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. This second chance rock-star romance was emotional from the first chapter to the last. It had a great build-up and kept you turning the pages.

As teenagers, Rafferty walked away from Lauren without a reason. After seventeen years apart, can Rafferty and Lauren have a second chance at love or are some things hard to forgive?

Rafferty and Lauren’s love is that “Forever & Always” type of love, one that consumes you and makes you want to find that special one in your life. It was great to see the other members of the band and I need to know who the next member is that will find his love.

The Protector: MAC (Cover Six Security, Book 1) by Lisa B. Kamps – Review by Jessica Leombruno

The Protector: MAC (Cover Six Security, #1)The Protector: MAC by Lisa B. Kamps
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Protector: MAC is the first full novel in the Cover Six Security series by Lisa B. Kamps as well as my first book by this author. Let’s just say I was little lost at first because the first scene started with Tabitha “TR” drowning and talking about her date with Mac. So of course, I thought I was missing something (there is novella before this book), but Lisa explains more about how the couples meet as I kept reading. That’s when the book just kept me on my toes with the suspense and the heat between TR and Mac. It was yummy and lit my kindle on fire. The secondary characters were also interesting and Hot Alphas, I need to know more about the boys of Cover Six Security – Daryl is up next and I can’t wait.

His First Lady by Avery Scott – Review by Jessica Leombruno

His First LadyHis First Lady by Avery Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

His First Lady by Avery Scott was a sassy political fake relationship romance. I have been on a fake relationship trope lately but I wasn’t too sure on the political part of this book. But Avery’s writing had me glued to my kindle; I even read at the dinner table because I needed to keep reading.

Michael Reese is a 2-time divorcé who is running for president and according to his campaign manager (who I wanted to punch a few times) is in need of a girlfriend. Looking over the staff meeting table Michael lays eyes on his speech-writer Kendall. These two had amazing chemistry and could flirt with the best. The only problem I had with them is that they needed better communication but I would add that as a learning curve. Could Kendall really be his First Lady?

If you’re looking for a funny fake relationship romance with a little bit of politics mixed in, you will like this book.

Back in the Ring (The Predator Series Book 4) by Brooke May – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Back in the RingBack in the Ring by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Back in the Ring by Brooke May was my first book this author, it might be the fourth book in the Predator series but you don’t need to read the other to fall in love with this wonderful second chance romance. Bijou Augustine is a young widow who’s struggling to keep her husband youth center running while raising her “tween” daughter. Everyone in her small town is telling Bijou to sell the center but she is very determined to keep her husband’s dream alive. Can a stranger willing to help out at the center, be the second chance Bijou needs?

From the prologue to the epilogue you will go through some many emotions and feel everything Bijou and Noah go through. I am always a little nervous reading a new author because you don’t know what their writing style is like. But I can honestly say this Brooke’s writing flowed easily and kept me flipping the pages. I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Claimed RoyaltyClaimed Royalty by Betty Shreffler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Betty Shreffer is becoming one of my favorite authors to read; every one of her books just pulls me in and leaves me wanting more. Claimed Royalty was an amazing forbidden romance with a side of great steamy moments. To me this was a different take on a royal story, instead of the guy trying to find a queen; we have a princess. Fiora is looking to become Queen but first, she has to go through trials to prove that she is strong, brave and a quick thinker, all along with finding her King. One major problem she doesn’t want any of the royals children, she only has eyes for childhood friend/Arms Man, Matheas.

So many good/bad things happened in this book that I don’t want to spoil them. I can’t wait for Twice Claimed I have to know what is going to happen next.

COMING HOME (Flowers in December, #2)COMING HOME by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen was a sweet fast-paced novella. Coming Home was told from multiple points of view and I recommend that you read Flowers in December to get a better understanding of what’s happening.

It has been four months since Connor’s mother’s death and he has decided to come home for his first Christmas without her. He runs into an old face and someone he has thought about for months but has that person moved on?

This was a wonderfully written novella. But I need more, you left me wanting to know what is going to happen next.

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Claimed is book 3 in The Torzial Affair by Via Mari might have been the best in the series. Just a far waring this book has some intense BDSM scenes in it. With one of Jenny’s problems dealt with now, they just have to figure out how to deal with the mafia. All I’m going to say is – Matt to the rescue this time. I think Brian and Jenny were their hottest in this book and Brian’s dirty mouth was even dirtier –YUM!

Via what can I say about your writing that hasn’t been said yet. Great characters, twist/action and of course great steamy panty melting moments. After reading this series, I am definitely going to go back and read Chase and Kate’s story – I just need to know how everything started.

Rules of Engagement by Mika Jolie was the perfect mix of a single dad, friends to lovers, best friend’s sister fake relationship romance. Boy, that a lot of troupes in one book but I have been looking forward to this story since I read The Boy Friend.

Lucas and Kate have been friends for decades but when Lucas’s ex is trying to take his daughter to France full time; Kate decides to play his fiancée to try and keep his daughter. We all know this plan will backfire on them but it was sexy hot reading about them trying to just keep thing as friends.

Elliot wants to get a girl in his office to notice him so he goes to his best friend Fe for help. Fe takes on the task of changing Elliot from a nice nerdy guy into a hot alpha male. But will the plan backfire on them and spark something between Fe and Elliot?

This was hilarious sweet friends to loves book. I laugh from the beginning to the end of this book; Fe and Elliott were sweet and lovable. I can’t wait to see if there is going to be more books in this series. If you’re looking for a good romantic comedy, you need to pick up this book.

I mean who wouldn’t want to go to movie premieres and Hollywood parties with a sexy man candy. And don’t get me started on the steaminess that goes on in the bedroom. With everything Evie has going on with Jake, she still has a “Fan” lurking in the shadows. Pamela’s writing is unique and kept you guessing with the twists. Her secondary characters are enjoyable and I want more of them. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I didn’t think I could fall any more in love with Brian and Jenny. I love the way Jenny still knows how to push Brian buttons.

Shattered is the first book in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari and I absolutely loved it. This dark, gritty and sexy book is something I have been looking to read for some time. It’s a little Fifty Shades mixed with a dark mafia romance. Even if you have never read Via’s books before (like me); it was easy to understand what happened in the last series where you first met Jenny to now with her and Brian.

Via’s writing style will grip you, pull you in and having you begging for this next book. Everywhere you turned there was a twist or shocking information coming at you. Then you get some sexy, panty dropping scenes with just Jenny and Brian that will have you needing a very cold shower. I can’t wait to dive into Bound and see what is waiting for Jenny and Brian next.

Besides having everything we love about second chance romances, we also get some of Tarrah’s “You Dirty Girl!” writing, while is so yummy. I loved how Tarrah had to add her favorite item of men’s clothing somewhere in this book, LOL!

Beats of the Heart by Charli B. Rose is a Rockstar romance that ends on a cliffhanger but I still say you need to read it. I have read a lot to Rockstar romance but this story was a little different – Izzy and Dawson are already a couple, they are childhood friends turn lovers for about 3 years now. I’m so used to the boy meets girl, fall in love type book, this was a nice change. Izzy and Dawson are perfect for each other; supportive of the others dreams and do everything to make this long-distance relationship work.

Must Be Crazy is the third book in the Darling Cove series by Deborah Garland, this can be read as a standalone but recommend you read the first two books. I have been waiting for Skye’s book since Must Love Fashion; there was just something about her character that I connected with. But it was Must Have Faith that had me really wanting Edward and Skye together. They had this instant connection with one another. So when I started Must Be Crazy, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to put this book down. Besides the great love story of Edward and Skye, there was DRAMA from someone’s ex.

I always have a full heart and tears in my eye when I read about men or women taking on a stepchild like they are their own. It was great catching up with the rest of this family, at one point they were all living under one roof – sorry that is just too many people in one house. But when Greg, Gwen, and Skye are all together you know there will be laughing. This book had everything you will love – it was sweet, funny, emotional and sexy.
