Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels Series) by Amy Kaybach – Review by Jules Herbert

Blurring the Lines & Extras (The Blind Rebels)Blurring the Lines & Extras by Amy Kaybach
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In a nut shell this book is the Prequel to the Blind Rebels series and it contains some extras goodies as well. I have not read the Blind Rebels series so I found the prequel part was a great introduction to both the series and this wonderful author and her talented writing which has now made me want to read the series! The “extras” while fantastically written, they didn’t have the impact on me that I am sure they would if I had read the other books. So I will come back to this once I have read the series.

This author is a talented writer who presents her readers with great wholesome romances that should be read and enjoyed if you love cowboys and western/small town themes. This particular book is a clean, slow burn romance and an age gap story featuring a grumpy thorny cowboy and a light and sunshine younger kindergarten teacher. Both have things in their past that have effected them and that helps shape their stories.

Moonlight Drive by A.R. Hadley – Review by Jules Herbert

Moonlight DriveMoonlight Drive by A.R. Hadley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have to be honest and admit I am conflicted in what to say about this book. This is the story of Dani and Nick and while the author takes us readers on a very emotional and complex journey full of heartbreak, jealousy, pain, addiction, the hardships involved in making it in the music industry and a lot more, I truly struggled at times to feel a true connection to the characters . This made it difficult for me to truly embrace the book and the world the author was portraying. However I must insist that just because I had a disconnect this time it does not mean you will nor does it mean I won’t read this author again because I definitely will!

This book offers its readers both an interesting storyline and interesting characters that you will enjoy reading about. The leading lady, Elinor Chalamet, is a little on the snarky side (I think that is the word I am looking for) and that is a side of her I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a great start to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When writing a review I find myself often saying if characters draw me into their stories and lives because for me if while I am reading I can be made to truly see what’s going on in the characters lives in my minds eye and can feel what they are going through then to me that’s a damn amazing book and an extremely talented author. This book and author had me doing that and more right from the very start. I was connected with and cared about both Barbara and Sebastian right away. They’ve had such very different lives but their inner core of striving for Justice is very much the same. There is so much emotion, pain, drama, steamy moments and even laughter that will have you turning page after page as that need to know what’s going to happen takes you over. Get reading now you won’t be disappointed!!!

I had so much fun reading this book. Everett and Abigail are such great fun to read about with beautiful hearts these characters draw you in and keep you turning page after page. They are in many ways very different and truly put the saying opposites attract to the test but in their hearts is where they truly connect. I loved the small town setting, the storyline and of course the wonderful characters. I didn’t realise until after I had read this book that it is part of a series and given how much I obviously loved this book, you can tell having not read the other books definitely did not hinder my reading experience. I will be finding the rest of the series though for sure and reading those now.
