I must say that I love reading biographies and memoirs. You truly get to learn so much about an individual by picking them up. This was a person I had never heard of but a relative recommended I read it and I’m so glad that I did. This is a beautifully written retelling of her story, although at times extremely difficult to read because you feel so much sadness for her enduring the things that she did. I felt that at times I wanted to take her back in time and give her such a different lifestyle with another family. But the ending had me feeling like truly there was a purpose behind all that she went through and that it happened for a reason. She truly was on a ride of life and no matter the twists, turns, stumbles, and falls that she experienced she came out a winner in my eye. Highly recommended book to read for males and females and I believe it would be a great book club read.

Gregory – Review by Karen Pearman
Isabella makes a promise to her dying father that she will return his ashes to his homeland, Russia. Isabella tells Tom that she must go even though this trip could have dire consequences for her. After defecting from the Organisation, she has not returned to Russia. She knows that there is a chance that she will be caught and returned to the leader.
Unfortunately for Tom and Isabella, there is a traitor who has their sights set on making quick money. Instead of a quick trip with them being undetected, the Organisation is aware of their movements from the start. While at her childhood home, Isabella runs into a former friend and neighbor. Tom’s gut says “don’t trust him”, but Isabella sees a friend.
Can they trust Isabella’s childhood friends? Will they be able to escape from Russia since the Organisation has eyes everywhere?
Motherland is a brilliantly written story filled with passion, regret, and murder. Samantha Adair has created a wonderful plot that challenges the characters as they fight against the past and present.

If you like dark thrillers you will love this book! It was pretty interesting getting a look into the mind of an arsonist. Getting to see what made him the way he was and why he was drawn to fire was intriguing. The two different view points kept the story entertaining. There were a lot of plot twists to keep me hooked. It was fun trying to figure out what would happen next.
Shield & Shade is the first book by Misty Hayes that I’ve read and it did not disappoint at all!!! The main characters are awesome- engaging and so interesting! The villains are the bad guys you love to hate and hate that you love em’! Intense action makes this a page turner that I did not want to put down (and often did not until very very late). I’ll be back for the next installment and will definitely be reading her first trilogy series!!

Loved getting lost in this world of danger, violence, bikers, adrenaline, romance, and spice! The writing is totally immersive, and the characters are so well developed that it will have you caring for them and even fearing for their safety! Sophie’s growth is sad and beautiful to witness and the plot twists were unexpected, thrilling and sometimes sad. This book also had me laughing on more than one occasion. If you found yourself enjoying shows like Sons of Anarchy, then you will love this book! The book also addresses some pretty serious issues, and trigger warnings (thought not too many) should be checked. Honestly super excited to read the other books in this series!

Wow! Third book in the series, and I happened to read them all in succession. This one was, by far, my favorite! So much edge-of-your-seat action and suspense, along with romance and enough backstory to bring the whole book together. I was internally screaming through parts of this book and totally anxious in other parts. I love when a book can captivate you from the beginning and immerse you into the story so that you feel a little lost after you finish it. This book hit that sweet spot for me. I cannot wait to read more from Amy McKinley and would love to see more from this group of characters!

I really enjoyed this young adult paranormal story. It is full of action and adventure and danger around every turn. The author does an amazing job with her characters. Her descriptions of the characters and their world is so detailed that it really brings them to life. The story is one that keeps you in suspense and gripped from beginning to end. I love the fight between good and evil and how they overcome adversity.
There are lots of secrets and deception which all unravel and make this story even better. People aren’t who they appear to be and romance springs up in the most unlikely of places.
This book is a spin off from The Blood Dagger triology and even though I haven’t read those I was still able to enjoy and follow the story. However I feel if that series is read first then some of the characters would make more sense.

Haunting and disturbing tale of a young woman who learns that all is not as it seems. Molly has lived her life in a dysfunctional household with a father who’s a jerk, a mom suffering from dementia and she has a brother who is twice her age. She is stuck trying to keep things together. She sees a missing poster of a young woman, Lucy, who looks so much like her. There is mystery, drama, twists, crime, and so many other things that grab you from the first page that you just can’t put this book down once you start. This book is the type I love. The author grabs your attention with such well-written characters. The book feels like a case ripped from the headlines. The plot was so good with the action that kept flowing. There wasn’t a dull moment. Great book.

The Rise Of Manifesto The Great: A Sci Fi Comedy Where Women Wear The Trousers (Planet Hy Man) by Kerrie Noor is quite the interesting read. It is a sci-fi romantic comedy and is full of the three S’s, satire and sarcasm and sexism. Whilst I don’t mind a good laugh and I did, I felt it was a bit over the top and fell short of its intended mark. A new planet, a new world, a new start only the start is not what they all thought.

This book was absolutely amazing! It has to be one of the top books I have read this year, and I did not want it to end. The amount of action, suspense, mystery and intrigue will keep you reading late into the night and on the edge of your bed. Hunter is a former US Marshal who lost his career due to a situation which was no fault of his own, and now he is trying to navigate the next phase of his life with little sense of purpose. When Paige calls upon him to help her with kidnappers who are after her children not once, but twice now he knows he has to do it. This book will keep you guessing each step of the way each chapter gives us intricate plot twists, torture, kidnapping, gore/violence, and even a love spark of old flames. Wine and popcorn are definitely a need for this page turner.

Sirena Van Schaik was born in British Columbia, Canada; the youngest of 4: 2 brothers and a sister. Growing up in the wilds of BC, she discovered her love of nature, adventure and appreciated those quiet moments at the end of a busy day when she could bury her nose in a book.
From there, Sirena discovered writing and spent as much time as she could in the written word…either by dancing through the worlds created by her favorite authors or creating her own worlds.
At 18, she moved to Ontario, where she continues to reside with her husband, two children and beloved family pets. You can find her enjoying her passion as a writer when she isn’t spending time with her family.

This story is full of intrigue and suspense, centered around a daughter’s promise to her father on the deathbed that she will bury him in his motherland. Isabella is determined to fulfill the promise at all costs. She asks for Tom’s help, and both of them tread on a dangerous mission which puts their lives in danger. This was an enjoyable suspenseful ride, it kept me on the edge of my seat from the first page. The characters are engaging and the plot quite gripping. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a good suspense action packed read.

Not surprising at all that Amy McKinley yet again blew my mind with this breathtaking story of love and a little bit of suspense and intrigue. This Author just has a way of describing the scenery of the book that you don’t see every day. You can feel her heart and soul in her writing. And Moonlit Kiss is yet again a great example of Amy’s amazing work. Moonlit Kiss is the story of Gianna and Sergio and it takes place in the beautiful world of Venice.

This is such a sweet children’s book with nice illustrations. This is a story most children will relate to, especially those who are interested in the animals. There are many endangered species in this world and Mornin, the super bird realizes that he does not want to go extinct. He wants his friends and family to thrive and flourish. So he sets out with a staunch determination to keep the animals, and the nature from extinction and he passes on his learnings to the other birds and also to the young readers. It is a very captivating read, I enjoyed it thoroughly and I would give it to my boys to read it.

Motherland: A Tom Grant Novel (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair is a fast-paced action thriller story that had me turning page after page. I was unable to guess what was coming next and that to me is when you know the writer has great writing skills. It is packed with danger and adventure and so much more. I love Tom. Fulling a promise has never been so hard when Isabella finds herself facing against the odds, but failure is not an option and Tom is helping her even though he may have bit off more than he can chew.

So, this was the first book by Misty Hayes that I’ve read. She currently has 4 books out, 3 are a trilogy and Shield and Shade are the start of a new series. It’s the story of a girl who’s life gets turned absolutely upside down- and shattered by family secrets. It’s full of so much action, and it’s such a page turner! I seriously cannot WAIT to see what the next book’s going to be about- and I’ll be reading her trilogy here soon! I can’t tell too much of what happened in the book without giving any spoilers, but if you’re someone who LOVES plot twists- this is definitely the book for you, and you will NOT regret it!!!!!

Moonlit Kiss pulled me in instantly and I didn’t want to put it down. I really want to go to Venice after reading this book.
Gianna gets a dream job in Venice. As she starts to learn more about the city she starts to feel like she’s home, why does she feel like she has been here before? Fate steps in and Gianna ends up meeting Sergio. There is an instant connection between these two. They decide to see each other while Gianna is in Venice. Will they have more or will it be a short romance? Will fate step in again?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get suspense, mystery and so much more. The author does a great job with her writing, it feels like you are right there with the characters. We get twists and turns that added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great read, 1-click and get started today on this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

A new take on Angels versus Demons. This book is a spinoff of the Blood Dagger Trilogy. Having not read that trilogy, I would still say this is a very good beginning to this part of the story. Zoey, a 15 year old high school student is just trying to get high grades and thinks of the day she can leave home. Having always suffered horrible nightmares and not knowing why it all starts to become clear when she learns about her family’s true nature.
Cruz is a 17 year old boy who divides his time between school, working at an ice cream shop and caring for his ill mother. When he and Zoey meet he is soon embroiled in things that are way over his head.
This book had solid world building and writing that keeps the reader engaged and wanting to know what else could possibly go wrong!

Can I just say…………FANTASTIC, GREAT READ!! This book had me hook since page 1. I love the characters that are introduced in this story to protect 2 teenage children from kidnapper’s, whom have their own agenda. The twists, turns and kick butt scenes, Hunter Divine and his team take no nonsense to protect the children. This is my first book from Author R. Weir but definitely will not be my last. If you love action, mystery and a great thriller, definitely check this book out, it is truly fantastic!!

I love, love, love! Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett! When I saw that this book was about Niran I was so excited. Niran is one of those characters from earlier books that I wanted to learn more about. Niran’s need to help and befriend Saffie, who he meets by chance when he goes to an appointment with Mary, just shows how awesome he is. You will have a hard time putting the book down at times.
A word of caution, the parts about Saffie’s past are hard to get through and might be a trigger for some people. It is a key part of the story of Niran & Saffie so I felt a warning was needed.

Of Fire and Bone is the third book in the Of Magic and Scales series by Natalina Reis. This is the final book in the series featuring Aiden and Naël, although I did see a blurb about a fourth book. This series should be read in order because they build on each other and you may miss some vital backstory if you miss a book. Aiden and Naël gather friends and family in this final battle. This book is filled with mystery, action, magical characters and a great romance. If you like MM or just great romance and adventure, I highly recommend this series. Natalina Reis is one of my one-click authors. I love how all of her books are different and exceptionally written.

Here you have an audiobook by L.M Mountford and narrated by Tia Johnson. This is just under 8 hours listening time and contains 7 short stories. These stories are Broken, Just Once, Valentine, Misadventures, Together in Sydney, Training Tracey, Blood Lust, and Sweet Temptations. Side note: Not for under 18 years of age. I would not recommend listening to this on speaker. These are all great stories and HOT! The author did a fantastic job writing these and the narrator did an equally fantastic job narrating. It was not hard to get into the stories. This author and these stories will give you everything you are looking for in sexy reading.

Hunter Divine is an ex US Marshall with a past full of the good, the bad and the ugly, but thanks to a mistake and a boss who threw him under the bus and blamed him for it, his career ended and now he is job and bed hopping to get by and to keep the memories of that tragic time away, but he isn’t succeeding as well as he hoped, that is until he gets a call from an ex who is in a spot of trouble and need his help. Paige Hawkins is the CEO of a green energy company, with a loving husband and two kids, however, recently, those kids are in danger, there have been two attempts at kidnapping them, each more risky than the last and in which the security detail she had hired were injured. This is why she feels that Hunter is the only one who will be able to protect her kids from this unknown threat. Despite their past history and how it finished, she knows he is the right man for the job, so she asks him to come to see her and see what he can do.
Hunter arrives in Colorado Springs and heads to see Paige and her husband to get more details about the previous abduction attempts and is shocked to hear how they have escalated and after having a minor interrogation of his own, he leaves it up to them to decide whether he is hired to do the job or not, after they have agreed to, he speaks to the Detective in charge of the case to see if he can enlighten him on any other details before contacting the members he wants on his team and going to collect them. As expense is no option for the Hawkins, he uses their private jet so they can speed up the process and it is a good job they do when a third attempt is made at the family’s home. Fortunately, one of the team had already arrived and the Detective as well as another cop were on the scene, although they were taken down, Hunter and two other members of the team arrive and stop the kidnapping in progress.
The next day the final team member arrives and a plan is put into place, Hunter asks for a list of the parents possible enemies and has a member of his team on each member of the family while he investigates possible leads both with and without the Detective, although some of his methods are not the policeman’s preferred ones. As the days pass and more leads are followed, will Hunter and his team be able to work out who is behind the kidnapping attempts and why, or will the past repeat itself and Hunter find himself in another lose-lose situation? As the lines between good and bad blur the Divine Devils race against time to stop the kidnapper with endless resources using plenty of teamwork and making the hard decisions, but whether they are positive or negative remains to be seen. This is a thrilling mystery which is full of action as the investigation proceeds and suspects are run down, which will keep you reading to find out how it ends.
This was a really sweet story about faith and keeping you faith in really tough, trying times.i was unsure about how the story would work with the virgin birth coming from a male. But it worked really well. When the world was destroyed a miracle occurs when a 17 year old boy becomes pregnant. Is it all a figment of the boys imagination or did he really get impregnated by the Virgin Mary? As a non believer Leslie doesn’t know what to think. Is this really a miracle or is it something that was caused by the same thing that destroyed everything in its way. Will the outcome be enough to change her view and show her that God exists?

Twists and turns at every page. This is the first book I’ve read from this writer. I am definitely looking up their other works! I will definitely say you will be at the edge of your seat. You won’t regret reading this!!
Motherland (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair. This is the 3rd book in the Tom Grant Series and I loved it. I have loved them all but this one is my favorite so far. Its the continuing story of Isabella who has enlisted Tom’s help to get back into Russia so that she can bury her father’s ashes. It was his final wish. Since she defected several years ago its very dangerous for her to be back in Russia but she must follow thru with her dad’s wishes. When Isabella runs into a childhood friend her cover is blown and she has already stayed longer than she should. Tom will do whatever he has to in order to protect Isabella from anything and everything because he has fallen in love with her. The action in this read is red hot as is the romance! Do yourself a favor and read this book today!

Deliciously Sinful Liaisons Audio Book by L.M. Mountford is a great collection of snapshots into future books by this author that I already cannot wait to read. Each and everyone one left me wanting more. I loved how all of these were different and yet had the distinct markers of this author. I love how engaged you can become with each of these books even though they are so short. They were great to be able to put one on to listen to in free moments because of this, it never felt like I had to refresh myself in what had happened to get back into the story.
This is a great way to introduce yourself to this author and to add even more books to your TBR list.

Wow! I still haven’t recovered from the book hangover from reading Avenging Devil Part One by Manda Mellett. I knew the book had a cliffhanger before I read it but I just wasn’t prepared for how emotional this book would make me feel and how much I wanted to throw my kindle away when I reached the end and realised that there wasn’t any more…for now! I have been a huge fan of Manda Mellett for a couple of years now and absolutely adore the Satan’s Devil MC books. I swear that they get better and better each book I read. I don’t know how she has the imagination to continually bring new fresh stories about this wonderful group of men and the women who ensnare them. She’s not afraid to tackle difficult issues and this book tackles the heartbreaking topic of pregnancy troubles (I wont say any more then that). In this book we get the start of Niran and Saffie’s amazing story and we get an update on Grumbler and Mary from the last book. Saffie’s story is dark and heartbreaking. You are dragged through every emotion possible reading about her life previous to meeting Niran. I was totally hooked on this story and did not want to put it down. Why do we have to work to earn a living? It totally gets in the way of reading time and I did not want to take any breaks from this book. It’s definitely what’s described as a page turner. If you really hate a cliffhanger so much then wait a few weeks for part 2 to come out but please read this book. You will not be disappointed.

A note of caution! This set of books are not for those under 18. Due to steamy adult themes. Please remember to listen through earbuds when out and about. Some things are not for everybody.
The stories listed are
Broken
Just Once
Valentine Misadventures
Together in Sydney
Training Tracy
Blood Lust
Sweet Temptations
This is a collection of 7 short stories. Two of which are left in cliffhangers. You are safe to assume I will be getting those stories to finish reading. These stories have 7 steamy men looking to have fun. Even though some are short, they fit in perfectly when you have a small time frame to fill. Just be careful, you may heat up while reading.
L.M. Mountford has written this collection of stories. Each one has so many details, nothing is left out. They all read well and keep you entertained. Because the stories are short, just means you get right to the good stuff. Be assured I will be looking for more stories from this New To Me author. Well Done L.M. Mountford! Well Done!
House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall is an incredible mystery story that just pulls you straight into its pages and does not let go at all! I knew from the minute I read the blurb for this book that I absolutely had to read it and that I had to do so immediately. I already wanted to know about the woman in the picture. I always enjoy the books that I read by this author and yet this book really blew me away. I was hooked from the moment I started reading. I loved how the story unfolded and I found that I was really invested in what happened. This author has created a thrilling mystery that was just begging to be solved. I would highly recommend reading this book and even go as far as to say move it to the top of your TBR list.
