Book 5, Lake of Flowers is the last book in the series in The Lord Hani Mysteries by N.L. Holmes is set in Ancient Egypt where NL’s passion lies. This series is not just a story they are also a lesson in history. Lord Hani is once again thrust into the thick of things that always sets himself and family into trouble and worry as he sets about to discover who is behind this latest mystery. Only this time it may all prove too much and possibly divide loyalties. I have said before and it is just as true with this book and that is that NL paints a vivid narrative, and her writing invites you into the journey and brings the characters to life. I absolutely love this author! This is the second book that I have read by her and she just absolutely brings my favourite genre to life as I’m reading. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough; I was hooked from beginning to end. The detailed writing allowed me to imagine exactly what was going on in the story and I adored the characters Isabel and Matthew – Isabel may have been a damsel in distress but she could certainly hold her own. I loved Matthew – who doesn’t love a sexy yet arrogant Viscount?!? I loved the twist in the story too! A fantastic read – I cannot wait to read more from Ms Woodson again in the future.

Mr. Nice Guy was a really great read – I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve read books by this author previously and was impressed with her work so I jumped at the chance when I saw this book. It was a fun romcom read with a nice storyline and great characters. I liked Chelsea and Tom, they had a great connection with each other, their time together made me laugh out and I found myself rooting for them the whole way through. They may only have been fake dating but it definitely felt real at times and certainly genuine between them. I really enjoyed this light hearted read and I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This is a follow up to the previous book by this author and I must say that it is another great YA read. As much as I loved the first one, I think I fell in love with the characters even more in this book. It picked up right where the previous one left off so I would highly encourage you read them in order. The characters in these books are so relatable to my own teenage angst years of high school friends and foes. It’s amazing how true to life it seems that even in a book they are trying to figure out who their real friends are and who they can and cannot trust. I think this book is great for preteens and teens. Not to mention adults that like to read young adult genre books.

This is my third audible in this series which I loved listening to. I highly suggest listening to this series in order to help your enhancement of this series. The narrator brought the story to life by using different tones of voices and made me want to listen to more. This is a story about dark pasts and a determination to survive. A story of healing and learning to trust again. The characters take suspense to a new level and a conclusion to an awesome story. I won’t say too much about the plot as I think you need to listen to this series as it is that awesome. I am very glad I picked up this audible and I was so excited to listen to it. I highly recommend this audible.

The best psychological thriller I have read so far this year! The suspense was intense because you had three arsonists telling there story and the tales of revenge just caught you up and never let you out. The collateral damage and tragedy fit right in. The characters were so creepy and well-written as psychos. The arsonist rules sadly sounded like they could exist, and probably do. I find myself taking deep breaths because I was holding my breath reading the book. Disturbing, yet like a train wreck, you have to look!
This is my first book by this author, I got into it pretty quickly and could hardly put it down. The build up throughout had me going crazy wondering how this was all going to end. The writing style was a bit different than I’m used to but caught on pretty quick and then it flowed smoothly.
My feelings towards all the characters were a roller coaster ride. I was never sure whether I liked any of them or even understood them and what they were feeling. Then on the other hand I could find I liked them and then did understand sometimes. It was in all honesty the definition of a hot mess.
I had figured out part of what was happening before the end but the other part was shocking, and totally threw my thoughts of one of the characters totally upside down. I think I wanted more from the ending. Not sure why, I can’t explain it but I felt a little let down for some reason. I guess I wanted that jaw dropping twist that just never seemed to come for me.
In saying all of that, I truly did enjoy this story and will absolutely read more from this author!
Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett is just WOW!! And one book you do not want to miss. The only downside is that it ends on a cliff hanger, but it is Part one. Part two can’t come quick enough. There are some triggers that are extremely emotionally intense so tread carefully. This gripping ride is what I have come to expect from Manda and this series, and they just keep getting better and better. This raw and heartfelt story had me on the edge of the seat and my heart broke for Saffie. My anger made me want to exact revenge on her behalf.

Competing with the Star by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second story in the Star Series. Since this book follows right after the first story line, you should read them in order.
Krysten was once again able to capture the teenage feelings and emotions in this tale. As someone who has been out of school for a while, it can be hard to remember the issues we all faced in our younger years. It’s a crucial time in our lives and unfortunately, a time that normally gets blocked out because of how hard it is. I have a young teen daughter I wish would read this series so she knows she isn’t alone.
You can get lost in the story and feel as though you are back in school dealing with these same issues. I never once had to remind myself where I was or who I was reading about. I was caught up in the story the whole time.

This was definitely a quick read. I enjoyed the banter between Tanner and Poppy and the dual POV. Being a short story this allowed me to connect to both the characters. A bit of steam and a HEA for two people from different walks of life. A well written romance escape book.

I didn’t mind the book. It was action packed right from the get go. I found it a little young for my taste, but other than that there was great character development, lots of intriguing action and it does leave you wanting more!

I give The Divine Devils: Mystery Suspense Crime Thriller: Book 1 by R. Weir, 5 stars.
I am a huge fan of the Jarvis Mann series by this author and I could not wait to see what this new series had to offer. It is completely different from the Mann series but the author yet again has another hit series on his hands. Less PI and more “do whatever it takes to get the job done,” Hunter Devine reminds me of that certain movie character from the 70s. You know, the one that’s a bad mother- (shut your mouth!), but brought into a more modern time. I also enjoy that the characters in this book are older, they are experienced and have been molded by their pasts, both good and bad. The team Hunter has is spectacular. I really hope to see them highlighted more in future books.
The story itself is intriguing; dangerous, sad at times, shocking, and keeps you on your toes. You are constantly wondering what will happen next and will they all make it out alive. The author weaves such a wonderful world, taking us many places in the US and beyond. I anxiously await the next book to see what the next adventure is. I hope this series lasts quite a while.

Even though this book is just a selection of short stories, I so enjoyed each and every one. The first story of “Grits Girl” just totally made me smile over a girl who her grits and got a happy ending. The second story of “The Accident” was heartfelt. Adeline taking care of her after an accident. The third story of “In the end of summer” was fantastic. A young man hitch hiking a ride to Virginia and meets another man and his son. The story was heartfelt over a carnival and how Mike comes to terms to have a conversation with his son about his mother. The Bonus story of “Pick Me” totally made me smile from beginning to end and and at the end you find out what was “picked”. All these short stories were fantastic. This is an easy read and just wonderful! Well done Author Jane Suen!

I really loved this witchy read from Denise D. Young! Tangled Roots is the first book in the Witches of Willow Creek: Tangled Magic Series, and it is a great kick off. I loved Cassie and Nick, and the supporting characters as well. This is full of magic and adventure that keeps the story flowing so that you never find yourself bored. In fact I read this one in one short sitting because I had to know how it would end before I put it down. I was impressed that the time jump part did not get confusing because I often find those to be a tad confusing in paranormal or sci fi books so that made me even more happy. I am excited to see how this series will unfold and progress!

WOW! This book was so gripping! I have never read anything by Sirena Van Schaik before but after seeing the cover and blurb I just had to dive in and see what this story was all about. I am so glad that I did because this book brought the thriller ride and the twists and turns that had me going woah the whole time I read. This is told from the murderer’s point of view and it is one that we don’t often get to really dissect quite in the way that Sirena Van Schaik does. I will for sure be going back to see what else is available and what will be coming from her in the future. This is the kind of book you get mad when it is over so I may be re-reading this one sooner rather than later #NOTSORRY.

Jaru and Larkspur’s story felt like the most action packed one yet. I came away feeling that I knew the two characters better. Seeing Jaru develop confidence in himself was enlightening. Being an imp, he’s used to following other’s orders. Larkspur totally knocked it out of the park with developing into so much more. That was truly delightul. He went from fun and games to trying to be responsible and sure of themself. The author always makes such enjoyable books to read because there is one plot with several little subplots that all line up. I love the twists and turns. The little ending was the BOMB!! Another one out of the park!

I fully enjoyed this story through and through! I loved how the author pulled me in right from the get go, I was intrigued and so captivated.
I loved the dual POV of both Jameson and Pete, it made for a really entertaining read as I got to dive into each of their worlds. I felt as if I had all kinds of suspicions and I enjoyed trying to piece everything together.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author in the future and would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next thriller read.

Niran and Saffie were… I have no words, they are lost after that cliffhanger. Avenging Devil Part 1 was emotionally heart-stopping and I NEED part 2 now.
Niran and Saffie’s story started slow and growing trust was key, with everything Saffie has been through. But I felt like every step forward was a big step back at every turn.

I enjoyed this book so much. I am a huge fan of historical romance and this one was amazing. I loved how there were multiple elements going on inside the story. The Murders of Lillian Rose is a story within a story. This author is new to me and I will be looking up other stories from her as well. The plotline is interesting because it captivates me from the first page until the last page. The characters are realistic and believable. It is an amazing feat to write a murder thriller but to have a true murder mystery within the story is awesome. There were clues to both mysteries that I didn’t see coming down the pike, There were twists and turns that I didn’t see coming around every corner. I highly recommend this story especially if you love murder thrillers.

This is an engrossing read. Makayla, much to her chagrin, is accepted into the Gravediggers Academy as a witch. As she starts schooling, and learns about potions, magic, and stopping the dead from rising, I was reminded of Harry and Ron’s first days at Hogwarts. There is much to see and learn, and Makayla seems to be an unnaturally talented witch, despite her lackluster academic past. Lots of action in this story, and I was so involved in it that it was over before I knew it. Definitely looking forward to another book in this series to see how everything plays out for Makayla and her pals.

I was not prepared at all. This book gripped my heart the entire time. Have you ever had a book where you make yourself stop reading ,but end up staring at the book till you pick it back up. This was that book for me. There are definite moments where you are covering your mouth wondering if that moment just happened. Niran is a beautiful man with an equally beautiful soul. He never hesitated to support this random troubled woman. Saffie is seriously one of the strongest women. My heart hurts for her. Things she went through just had me in tears. This is definitely a hard read emotionally at points, but is beyond worth it. What I felt was my favorite part is Niran was never out for more than just to be her friend and help her. That just shows so much of his heart beyond the intimidating biker image . I need their HEA to happen. I’m so ready for the second book.

Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
I usually write my reviews just after I finish a book so it’s fresh on my mind. This particular review is being written a bit after I finished the book. I need some time to let everything soak in before I felt I was ready to share my thoughts.
I have read most of the Satan’s Devils books, stumbled on this series back when it was only the Arizona chapter and was hooked from the beginning. Now we have Colorado, Utah and San Diego with Las Vegas coming soon.
With all that being said, I need to spill my guts on this book and I’m going start at the end. Why didn’t I wait to read this book until closer to when part two comes out? I have to wait a month to find out what happens! I knew this going in but holy cow.
The book grabs you from the beginning and twists your guts up, chews you up and spits you out as a crying mess. I have no idea how Saffie has survived going through more pain than anyone should ever.
I have theories on why this first book ended the way it did and if it’s true I’m going to be livid for Saffie and Niran.

I enjoyed this story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. This is a well written story about a motorcycle club with a paranormal twist. The characters brought the story to life and are relatable. They pulled me into the story from the beginning. Lance is someone who just wants to spend life with his love but the king of the realm has something different in mind. Both are on a hunt for an ancient realm and a claim to the throne. What will happen between these two? I enjoyed all the characters and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

This is a series I have enjoyed from the first book. This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous three books which I would highly suggest reading. This is a well written story that pulled me in from the first chapter. The characters give the story a realistic feel and I had no problems connecting with them. This is a story about friendships and how far a person is willing to go for those they love. Freyja and Cam are feeling safe and secure until someone from the past shows up. Now they leave the security in search of answers to their questions. I enjoyed these two characters, they really made the story for me and it was fun to read. I highly recommend seeing what happens next with these two.

Grave digger academy is a fun YA book. Makayla is a spunky and likeable character. The other characters have good depth and are interesting as well. The plot was fast paced and had some twists. The details of the academy made it seem real. I like the world that the author created.

King – Review by Nikita Lesperance
Jameson Wills is a kid who has grown up in a family where his only company has been his mum after his dad left, he is the kid who sits at the back of the classroom minding his own business and keeping to himself, he is the forgotten one, the ignored one, but he keeps up his grade and is working on his sketches so he can get into a good college, but all he has really ever wanted is to know about his dad, who he was and why he left. Pete Andrews has it all, the job, the house, the car, the wife and the kid he always thought he wanted, but he felt that it was never enough and he then started searching for things in the wrong places.
Jameson is just going through the motions like he does everyday, he isn’t too close to his mum because of all the hours she works at her two jobs and when she is at home, they barely communicate, but on this day, he goes into the attic to get his hockey stick, but instead, he finds a journal and as he reads through it, he realises that it is his fathers and it is not what he expected to read, but it rings true to him in a strange way. Meanwhile, Pete is having breakfast with his wife as she rocks their son, but it isn’t the amicable conversation it used to be, the atmosphere is icy and the distance is palpable, but as she makes sure everything is ready for her business trip but eh way she does it frustrates him and so he decides that he needs some kind of release, so he arranges for someone to look after his kid for a few hours so he can find it. However, when he is finally ready to return home, he finds that he has many missed calls and voicemails from his wife, because this isn’t the norm, he is worried and calls her back, btu when she starts screaming incoherently down the phone at him, demanding to know where he is, he has a feeling that something is definitely wrong.
Pete’s suspicions are confirmed when he returns home to find that there isn’t a home to return to, it is just a smoldering pile of ashes, there are fire crews, ambulances and the police there, but all he can do is try to breathe, hoping that his mind is working overtime and that the worst hasn’t happened, but as he sees the woman who was babysitting his son approach him and burst into tears, his worst fear is realised, his son was in the house and is now dead. As he tries to come to terms with what has happened, he takes the blame upon himself and his wife does the same, she demands to know where he was and why he wasn’t there to save their son, the police want to know the same thing, but he cannot bring himself to say it.
As Jameson reads more of the journal, the days turn into weeks and he begins to realise that his father was an arsonist and as he watches the news, basks in the knowledge that he has come back, but he also feels like he has met with his destiny and that maybe if the same blood runs through his veins as his father, will he be able to something to finally get his attention? As the investigation continues and arson is confirmed, Pete vows to find the arsonist and get his revenge, but will his chequered past come back to haunt him before he can find the one he is searching for? This is a thrilling story with plenty of action, revelations and a lot of fire as the hunt for the arsonist progresses, emotions blaze and walls come crashing down as you are drawn deeper into the arsonists handbook until a fiery conclusion is reached.
