This is a pretty enjoyable short story. It is quite a quick paced book due to its length but it was easy enough to get in to. The boom lacked a little bit of depth, which at times I felt could have easily been added without losing the novel feel to it, however it soon picked back up again. The characters were easy to connect with and fit with the story well. I liked that we got to see things from the dual perspective and for me that made the book. This is a quick and easy read that is enjoyable from staff to finish.

This was a good read. It was an engaging YA with a good balance of love, angst as well as heartache. Nathan was a good character and some of the tones were relatable. It connects from a teen perspective in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this book.

This book is written by an author that I am very familiar with as I have read several of her books. I always know I will not be disappointed, and this was no different. She writes for young adults in a way that keeps adults mesmerized with not only the storyline but the characters as well. You feel like you know them. At least I do. The main male protagonist reminds me of so many males that I went to school with that at times I was so enraged thinking back to my high school years. I highly recommend that you read this story. Or if you have young adult readers in your home you encourage them to read it. They will thoroughly enjoy it just as much as you do.
Dark, Deep, Emotional roller coaster. This book was amazing, just like all of you I have been dying to read Jonas’s story. Jonas’s and Mackenzie’s story has a lot of history and is very dark. Jonas is your typical bad boy, who has made questionable decisions in life and in the bedroom. Jonas Mackenzie were falling in love, or so she thought. He had made his intentions clear about Mackenzie to everyone in high school, once Mackenzie caught wind of what has been said about her behind her back it had changed everything.
Later down the road these two meet again, not in the manner Mackenzie prefers as her chef dreams come true and land this huge contract she now has to work for Jonas. The man who hurt her all those years ago, secrets unfold and the past catches up to them.
I don’t want to give any spoilers so I will leave it at that, but this book is definitely worth the read and actually probably my favorite book out of this series so far.

Full disclaimer – I loved fantasy books when I was growing up. Flame and Crystal Thorns by Kay L. Moody offers SO much to the reader! The main character Chloe is a renowned apothecary in the human world, and is quite content with her new life. One day an old “friend” visits her and asks her to help save Faerie, a world she swore to never return to. Through a series of plot twists, Chloe has to decide what is most important to her. This book is packed with Fantasy, Romance, Adventure, and so much more! I really loved the real relationship between Chloe and Quintus and I can’t wait to see where Kay L. Moody takes this story in the remainder of the series. This may be my first Kay L. Moody book, but it sure will not be my last!

The Mastermind is the first book in the WaterFyre series by Nadia Han. This is also her debut title, which is pretty impressive! As someone who has been actively exploring the romance genre, I really appreciated this story! The story centers around Audri Wu and one of her brother’s best friends, Remington (Remi). Remi not only brings the sexy, but he also brings a lot of dark, dangerous and suspenseful vibes to the story as Audri tries to navigate one of the oldest taboos…don’t mess with your brother’s best friend! Definitely recommend this title as it’s a nice mixture of suspense and sexy. Looking forward to more of this series!

This is a new author for me. I was not sure how I would feel about this story. This is a story about PTSD, and how it affects each person differently, and honestly it was a story that hit close to home. Jacob Paul Patchen had a unique, detailed way of telling this story. The attention to detail was outstanding, and it made me feel as if I was part of the story as well. His characters are realistic, raw and by no means did the story feel as is if it were a made up tale. The main character and his struggles will leave you asking yourself multiple questions, what would you do if you were in his shoes? Would you be able to live with yourself afterwards, the list of questions goes on and on. Through the rollercoaster of emotions, I can honestly say that you will find this is a book that is an enjoyable page turner!

But when illness brings his Beckett back to town the last thing Ellawyn expects is her carefully constructed walls to begin to fall down.
I was instantly drawn into the cozy small-town of Quimby Grove and into the lives of Ellawyn, Benji, Beckett, and his best friend Max. From their individual stories and hardships to the trials they faced together and everything in between this was such a well-written whirlwind of a ride.
I was entirely invested in this story from beginning to end and felt myself connecting to each character and resonating with them in different ways.
It was an amazing read and the characters were only a portion of it. I felt myself enjoying the storyline, the pacing, the details, and the times I did have to pull myself away from reading I couldn’t wait to return and dive deeper into this world.
Definitely am hopeful for a next book and to see what will happen and if it will continue to follow the story of Ellawyn or if we will be introduced to a new set of loving characters either way I have found an author to add to my list and I am excited to be captivated by her future stories!!

This story touches on the devastating trigger points of miscarriage and infertility. Like the previous member of the Titans (Caspian) Anton is foot loose and fancy free, money is no object and fame has brought him notoriety. His money cannot but happiness without heartache. He meets his match in Elsa Fitzgerald who is a career orientated strong woman. We follow their relationship and observe it grow, love is amazing, everyone is happy. Until they are not: Pregnancy is never easy especially when your husband is married to his career. Things are thrown off of kilter when Elsa loses her baby then fights after to find like many do that it is an infertility issue, stress and emotions run high in this book. Relationship stress and the emotional rollercoaster take you on the ups and downs that many of us face. An emotional read that may not suit everyone but rest assured they get their Happy Ever After.

This book was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the chemistry between Levi and Brynn, their introduction is not smooth sailing and it was riddled with humor. Brynn is feisty and the banter she has with the other characters is hilarious. Levi is the broody one and he owns it throughout the book. Wonderful start to a new series.

An entertaining YA contemporary romance, which had me hooked from start to finish. Nathan, is a liar, he lies to protect himself, because he has a secret, and by lying he gets to keep his secret. One which he believes will destroy everything in his life if it were to be discovered. Nathan is also one of the popular guys at school, and together they terrorise the unpopular kids. When new girl Holly joins the school she becomes Nathan’s unwilling lab partner, she hates him because of who he’s become. However, only Nathan knows that he’s only bullying others to keep anyone getting too close to him and discovering his secret. Then Holly does find out Nathan’s secret, and he’s determined to do whatever he has to in order to keep her quiet, but he soon learns that the most damaging lie is the one he’s been telling himself. This is an intriguing story, set in a high school and has all the angst you would expect amongst teenagers, the setting and characters are brought to life through the descriptive narrative, and I felt as though I was back at school! The storyline has an added twist to it with Nathan’s lie, and the consequences of the choices he makes to keep it hidden, especially in terms of his relationship with Holly. This was an enjoyable and engaging different take on first love and it took me on a rollercoaster of emotions whilst I was reading it.

Anton Kingston has the life that most dream of. He is handsome, wealthy, and a very famous actor. But he wants more, a wife and children. She wants the same thing as Anton, but will they be able to achieve it or will their struggles keep them from obtaining their dreams. This book was wonderful, and the characters were great. The story, although full of love, was focused on the hardships that couples endure; this made the book relatable even though their lives are much different than most people I know. The author, Anise, illustrated rough times can happen to people who look like they have it all, going to show that you don’t know what happens behind the scenes.
Ryhann Ward’s only dream was to be a professional dancer. She finally get accepted into her dream school everything is going according to her plans. Her best friend and roommate, Allie, is the complete opposite, she loves the glitz and glams, and doesn’t need a job but convinces Ryhann to join her at the hottest nightclub in the city. The girls dance there as strippers on the weekend. Ryhann, so she can make ends meet, and Allie does it just for the fun. The only problem is their boss, Mason Steele. Mason is a Titan and the owner of “The Vault.” He never sleeps with his employees but he had slept with Ryhann just before she came to interview for the job. He is determined to not cross the boundary he had set for himself, but something about her makes him want more. Will the lines blur between business and pleasure, or will they just have to avoid one another as much as possible? This book was steamy, sexy, and fun. A great read and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
Pilot Who Knows the Water (The Lord Hani Mysteries Book 6) by N.L. Holmes – Review by Maryn Belling In the mystery-style of Alexander McCall Smith and thickly set prose of Gabriel García Márquez, N.L. Holm again transports us to Egypt for a 6th time.
In addition to continuing the literary detail of earlier texts, Book 6 has a cast of characters and glossary at the beginning of the text. Resultantly, the reader is more at ease than when they first met Lord Hani. In addition, those tools allow newcomers to familiarize themselves with the persons, places, and political constructs of 1335 BCE without prerequisite reading.
Readers of previous Lord Hani mysteries will find resolutions of unanswered wonderings in previous tales. In a deft work of authorship, however, those elements are not obstructive to first-time visitors to ancient Egypt. Rather those silver-threads of continuity provide a thrall of entrez-nous to visit other adventures.
Beyond the story’s overt purpose (Lord Hani’s journey to find a husband for the queen), readers may choose to consider similarities and differences in their own lives. Whether in lived experiences, observations, hamartia, devotions, or epistemologies history (even in novel form) grants us a portal to introspection.
Interestingly enough, and almost as a direct indicator of the diplomatic dexterity of our hero, we seem to have shed nearly all of the euphemistic vulgarities of Lord Hani’s internal dialogue and those of his companions.

Holly is the new kid, having moved to a new city with her father, a sheriff, after the passing of her mother. Like every high school student, she’s dreading going to a new school and is hoping to fit in with the right people. Nathan is the classic jock – handsome, fit, popular, and a jerk. When it quickly becomes apparent Holly isn’t going to fit in with the popular crowd, she finds friends that become her tribe. Still slightly intrigued by Nathan, but also recognizing him for the jerk he is, she’s equally drawn to him and disgusted by his behavior. After an incident where he helped embarrass a classmate, she confronts him; then, everything changes. She discovers Nathan has a secret he’s been keeping from nearly everyone around him for the past couple of years. He panics and waits for the fallout of Holly telling everyone, but when she doesn’t, his brother convinces him he should sweeten her up a bit to make sure she doesn’t change her mind. After holding onto his burden for so long alone, Nathan finds Holly to be a caring confidante, and the two start dating. All’s well until another girl who’s been pining for Nathan for years, outs Nathan’s other secret – that he only started talking to Holly to keep her quiet. While the overall story was good, and I found the book to be very informative about Nathan’s secret, I wasn’t as impressed with the cliched high school tropes; I also felt like the main characters could have had a bit more depth beyond Nathan’s secret and Holly’s caring (and borderline codependent) nature towards him.
The first book in the series Titans of Manhattan, we meet Caspian Archer, one of the four most eligible bachelors of the area. After a very sad and abusive early childhood is taken in by his uncle and moved into the upper echelons of the Manhattan society. Rich and wanting for nothing he is told to marry (for a year and a day) or loose it all. He literally bumps into his childhood friend Paisley, who herself is struggling to pay for her mother’s hospital care on top of rent and life itself. There seems no way out until she is literally knocked backwards. Can they work it together so they both have a marriage of convenience for a set period of time? We follow their rekindling friendship as it moves to a relationship that they did not see or want ot admit happening. Fast paced and complicated relationship, a really good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance which was an intriguing mix of romance, drama, adventure and Greek mythology and myths, such as Atlantis, all of which had me hooked. The story is told from multiple points of view, which made me feel engaged with each of the main characters. Kasper, is on a quest to travel the world and swim to the deepest depths, as he has been told that in Greek mythology, there is a water healer under the zodiac sign of Aquarius, who he hopes can heal his dying brother. Maris, has found out her fiancé, the man her father wants her to marry, is cheating on her, and is now unsure whether to go against her father. Maris knows that fighting for her opinion to be heard will not change anything, but maybe running away will. Meanwhile, her best friend Pasha is living with the knowledge that the man she loves is intended for her friend. She has to decide whether to sacrifice her own happiness for theirs, knowing that a future of following rules will make her miserable. Then there is Ryn, in line to be king, but only if he marries someone he doesn’t love gives up the one he does. He has to decide if making it work is worthwhile, especially as the princess he’s to marry seems to be destined for more than he can offer her, but maybe he could help her. This is an immersive read, with the wonderfully descriptive narrative bringing the setting and the characters vividly to life. It’s an original storyline which flows well and had me gripped from start to finish. An enjoyable and entertaining read, which I definitely recommend.

Jonas is one of those men who is more than comfortable in his own skin and the options of others of him don’t really phase him . While his friends are settling down and finding love he’s more interested in building his empire ! More often than not men like this have loved before and they loved hard and that’s why they hurt hard and then they build an attic cave around their hearts but there’s an ice queen out there that’s the perfect match and will get through all those layers ….
Mackenzie , the preachers daughter lost her heart and paid the price , she need to let go of the baggage and the hurt and resentment and live .
Mackenzie has the chance of a lifetime to realise her dreams but there’s a few hurdles to get over first , the biggest being coming face to face with her past ….
The thing with unresolved history is that it’s like a smouldering fire , the embers can very quickly flare up again , very much like it it did with my people , yes I’ve claimed them as mine , again 🤷♀️🤦♀️❣️📕

The Lie That Binds by Amy Argent. This is such a good young adult romance. Its the typical new girl at school not fitting in. Holly is the new girl and of course she doesn’t fit in with the popular kids. Nathan is one of the popular kids but he has a secret and he will do anything to protect that secret. When he and Holly become lab partners not happily I might add, Holly develops a crush on Nathan. Holly is tormented by all the cool kids so Nathan is devastated that he has to be her partner. When she accidentally finds out his secret he will do whatever it takes for her to keep it. They decided to act like they are dating and as they spend more time together Nathan realizes he really likes her. Holly’s brother also helps them with this secret. Remembering how things like this secret could be devastating to a high schooler makes this book seem so real. Will Holly keep Nathan’s secret or will he end up just telling everyone. Really good standalone read! I feel like it could be required reading in high school! Good lesson!
This book had twists and turns throughout! The main character, Ellawyn, leaves an abusive relationship and escapes to the quaint small town of Quimby Grove. The small town and town square are written so well, the benches surrounding, the marquee on the theater lit up, the window fronts, it all sounds like such a cute town. Ellawyn is brave and trying to start a new life that she has control over. She finds the bookstore and the man who runs it to be a place to feel comfortable and starts to open up. Benji knows she has a dark past or is running from something, but he takes her in and she becomes part of his family. Benji always has a smile to give and runs Starlight Books by himself. Benji’s grandson, Beckett, returns to town to help run the bookstore and cafe and take care of Benji as his health is dwindling. Ellawyn and Beckett slowly get to know each other and the trust builds into more. Then you get hit with a twist, Ellawyn has a stalker. This book was good and I didn’t want to put it down so I could find out what happened. I do have a few unanswered questions about some of the story but it was still a great read.

This was an incredibly challenging book to read! There are quite a few levels to the book, understanding the scenery, characters, etc, which makes for a super interesting, original story! I am interested in finding out more about book one and filling in the background of the story. Great development and interesting characters in the book. This is one book that would be amazing to see on screen!

The Lie That Binds is a book that could have really happened in the “real world”. The attention to detail is what makes this book interesting. The ability of this author to present her work in such a real way is a treat. It has been a long time since I have read a book that I felt like I was really in the book with the characters. Speaking of the characters, they are fully developed and complicated. This story is told from Nathan’s perspective. He is a “popular boy”. He does not like to close to anyone because they will see the truth about him. Holly does just that. What happens because she does know the truth? I highly recommend this book to find out what happens to Nathan and Holly.

This is a were wolves alpha paranormal romance. The author does a great job of world building and the characters are really well written. I felt so sorry for Nolan. He has always been overlooked and bullied for not being the next Alpha of the pack. It isn’t until his brother passes that anyone pays attention to him. He now has to fight for his life to prove he is worthy of being the pack Alpha. Along his journey he has many obstacles and fights to go against to prove himself. As well as revenge his brothers death and finding his fated mate. Can Nolan finally step out of his brothers shadow and prove himself a strong alpha or will he fail and remain seen as the runt of the little who isn’t fit to lead the pack.
This addition of the Agneson Clan adventures doesn’t disappoint! The Vikings are called together to defend their way of life. Agne and his oldest son, Cub, are called to battle and thus leave the family homestead. Gurid is left to defend the homestead with Kara and Sorven in her husband’s absence. Thorfinn has left with his Uncle Karl to fulfill his uncle’s oath to return for his men. As the men prepare for battle, Cub learns the ins and outs of battle. A blood feud comes to the homestead and the family is forced to flee to extended family for protection. Thorfinn finds himself dealing with a mast troll, a kelp man, and a dark elf that feeds the were-bear man his uncle must fight. Can the family survive the many trials before them? Will the Vikings succeed in their push for life to stay the same? Can Gurid get her family to safety before the blood feud catches up to them?
This is an exciting book! I did not want to put it down until I found out how things turned out. So many things are happening all at once that I couldn’t help but be sucked into the year 878 and feel immersed in Danelaw England’s struggles. I really like this series!

What an amazing story! This took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. I hated, then liked and then felt honored to read this full tale. While reading I was shocked and surprised more than once at what happens, the cast’s reactions and actions. The characters all have wonderful traits that add or detract from the overall book. Some I loved and felt empathy for and others I could do without but realize their necessity for the storyline. I loved the growth that not only the two main personalities had but a lot of the secondary ones too.
This is my first book by this author. I felt it may be a little long at times but the weaving of it is perfect. I became entranced by Holly and Mr Gorgeous as we learned their feelings and secrets (good and bad unfiltered) as they struggle to survive and try to hold their place in high school.
That epilogue was wonderfully done! I loved learning how everything was navigated at the end.

This book was well written. The book was romantic, sweet, adorable, and cute. Not only was the Romance in this book heart warming, the stories were really good. They have three different sweet romances. All adorable and good. I love that they tie in with each other in some way. If you’re looking for a good story about couples, this is your book!

This was a hard read for me and there were a few triggers that one should be aware of . It was a real and real read and I almost don’t want to share their story and all they’ve been through . I cried hard but loved even harder ❣️
