I truly love a great fantasy story and this was definitely one. This YA Fantasy is something that will appeal to all ages and anyone who loves a good elven adventure. Yarissa was a strong and amazing character, and I felt a connection from chapter 1. As she ventures into the Night Realm she becomes everything she did not think she could be doing things she did not believe she could do. She will be taken upon an amazing magical adventure with plenty of laughter, action, excitement, and life lessons attached. This tale brought to life is not one that should be missed!

Twilight Realm has easily become one of my top three fantasy universes. This is my 2nd book by the this author and in the series and I was not disappointed. The writing in this book is so descriptive I can seriously see the scenes playing out as I read. I love that there isn’t any difficult language to understand even though this is fantasy. I like how easy to read, get entertaining this book was!

This second book of this series was fantastic and I highly recommend to read this series in order. If you are a lover of YA Fantasy like I am definitely take a leap and dive in to this story of magic, elves and adventure!

Yarissa wants to a be a warrior and finished up her training and wants to become one of the Elites, but ends up being a spy and on a mission to find a missing princess. Her journey, though not easy, but finds herself trapped in the Night Realm. Yarissa is a fighter, has to use her magic in ways and I loved that about her character… strong and a survivor. Will Yarissa survive the Night Realm while trying to find a missing princess?

I cannot wait to see how this series continues!! Totally Enjoyable!

This book is in a series, kind of a bridge between books one and two. While it works as a stand alone, I highly recommend reading the first book as it answers some questions and is in the same realm. I loved reading about Yarissa almost as much as I loved being back in this series. She is strong, playful, and sassy which made her very appealing. She is relatable that she thinks she has her life planned out and then discovers life doesn’t always work the way we plan. This was another great book, and I really enjoyed it!

This next installment to this series was even better then the first. Full of a quest, dragons, elves, emotions, drama, and more I just simply couldn’t not put this fantasy book down. Once again the word building is original, and our author certainly stops at nothing to bring her characters, and story to life. I know personally I can’t wait to see what happens in this terrific series next.

The author did a fantastic job of creating her own world. The elves rule five realms, this one takes place in the Twilight Realm. It is a fantasy adventure filled with magic, dragons and fantastical creatures. Phoenix is only thirteen when his parents, the king and queen are murdered. He goes into hiding for his own safety. When the time is right, he will step up and become the king that he was meant to be. Zoe has no love loss for her parents who experimented on her as if she was a lab rat. She manages to escape and stays hidden for many years. Fate brings these two together and with the help of some friends, they attempt to rid the realm of the evil that has spread. I think this is a great start to this series. A very entertaining story.

This is a wonderful young adult adventure filled with elves, dragons and magic. Yarissa is a spy that’s sent to the Night Realm to get word to the king. This realm has its own dangers and doesn’t take kindly to outsiders. After tragedy hits, she is left on her own to finish the assignment. Yarissa discovers many things about herself and her growth is amazing. She is strong and determined which is great qualities in a female lead character. Although the story is short and ends on a cliffhanger, it fits perfectly between book one and two of the series. It’s a captivating and interesting story.

I forgot how much I loved the first book until I read this one.(Book 1.5). This book hooked me from the first line. Yarissa’s is a young elf hellbent on joining the elite branch after finishing her training. She believes that’s the best way to prevent the events of the first book (if you haven’t read it yet please do) from happening again. Through a mission asked of her by the king of Twilight himself, she learns that there may be others ways to serve and protect the kingdom. She learns more about her power, strength, and herself as the story unfolds. It’s action packed with a hint of romance. Definitely a good read. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out.

This author did not disappoint! I definitely recommend reading the first book so you have some back story to the realms. The stories are well written so you can picture everything as you are reading. Yarissa is a fierce character especially after she realizes her strength. In the beginning she thinks she knows where she belongs but goes on a mission only to realize she may have been wrong. This story has some new characters that you aren’t sure if Yarissa should trust. She’s still young by elf standards and does a lot of growing throughout the story. I’m really glad the author did this in between story. I can’t wait to read book 2 to see where the story goes for the Twilight Realm!

This book is part of a young adult series that I fell in love with after reading the first book. This is technically book two but is called book one and a half. This book helps answer some of the questions I was left with following the first book. I loved how the author managed to make this into a short story but can fill in so many missing details. I laughed, I cried, and at times I was downright angry with some characters. But when it was complete I felt like this book achieved a lot in the small amount of story that we were given. However, it did just make me want to know more. I highly suggest reading the first book before picking this one up. Otherwise, you will be a little confused. If you like, or love as I do, young adult books please pick up these stories.

Twilight’s Spy is a amazing YA/ Fantasy story that is fast paced and hard to put down once you start. I love that this author is giving us this story which is in-between books one and two. This introduces us to new characters and gives back story which I love. I highly recommend reading the first book if you haven’t already as its just as good as this one. This is a fairly new author to me but I’m a fan already. This story is packed with adventure, action, magic, drama and so much more. Yarissa just finished her training and wants to be apart of the Elites. What happens when she’s sent out on a spy mission to the Night Realm? Being a spy really isn’t what she wants to be but the amazing friends she meets along the way . She really wants to keep her people safe. I highly recommend reading this fast-paced story to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

This is book 1.5 of the Twilight realm trilogy and I was not disappointed. I fell in love with the first book and now I’m in love with the second. I love this authors way of writing. The way she can bring the plot alive and write the characters beautifully. It’s like you are right next to the characters, experiencing everything the same way they are in that moment. This book is for you if you like strong female leads who aren’t afraid to face impossible opponents.
I’m excited to see how the author continues this trilogy in the near future.

Twilight’s Spy (Twilight Realm Trilogy Book 1.5) by K.M. Wray – Review by Santana Hicks

Twilight's SpyTwilight’s Spy by K.M. Wray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Yarissa never wanted to be a spy. Her plan was to complete her training and then join the elites, which is a group of warriors. On her last assignment as a trainee, she was to get information on how to cross the Haltiya Ravine. She succeeded when no other elf did. That put her in the eyes of the King and he personally asked her to continue her spy work into the night realm. As much as she didn’t want to go this path, she couldn’t say no to the king. Yarissa’s plan was to complete the mission and return with the favour of the king. The only obstacle is survival and inexperience. A bad combination indeed.

This book was a great short background story of Yarissa, fitting nicely in between book one and two of this series. My only issue with it is that it was kind of repetitive. It felt like the author was just filling in space to make the story longer.

I LOVE the way this author writes! I was completely immersed into the story from the beginning. The fable flows along nicely and nothing seems forced which make it enjoyable to the reader. I can just fall into the story and let the author take me on the journey.

I enjoyed meeting Brie and following her on her path. She changed a lot over the course of the story. She had doubts but eventually did research and believed then all the good came. Her interaction with others is what bolstered her confidence after getting over the fear. I really liked the humor that was brought to this book as the story drew to a close.

Overall this is the second book I have read by this author in this series. I liked thins one as much as the previous. As stated before its the building of the story and its characters along with her fluidity that makes this such an entertaining story.

Twilight’s Spy was good! I do like this series and am really looking forward to book 2. I couldn’t believe the cliffhanger this one was left on. I was thinking it may not be a completed mission while reading it, but definitely thought it would’ve gotten further than that!
Now that the Twilight Realm has been reclaimed by the royal family, who they thought parished years before, King Phoenix is looking to bring his sister home. Taken and hidden in the Night Realm the night of the attack that killed his parents, King Phoenix has been doing what he can to get word to the Night Realm King for her return. To no avail.
Yarissa just finished her last trainee assignment as a spy, looking to join the Elites has been summoned. Due to their success on their spy mission Yarissa and Tagreth have been asked to enter the Night Realm to personally get word to the king. Although King Phoenix implies to Yarissa the mission won’t be complete without the return of Princess Zyanna.
Unfortunately early on the mission is soured by great tragedy, leaving Yarissa to complete it on her own. Assisted along by Logon and Sahina is Yarissa successful? The Night Realm doesn’t take kindly to outsiders, does this make her mission more difficult? Are there higher powers at play?
I’m starting to wonder if regents, who took hold in the Twilight Realm are ingrained and controlling the others as well. Especially the Night Realm!
The author presents a wonderful fantasy world that has me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for more!

I enjoyed this fantasy story. This book is part of the Twilight Realm series which if you haven’t read the previous book then I highly suggest it is just as great as this one. This is a great series that I have enjoyed reading. One of the things I enjoyed about this book is how the author was able to bring it to life with their writing skills and attention to details. This is a story that is fast paced and engaging. A well written story where the characters pull you in from the beginning. I found them to be connectable, strong and supportive of each other. They really made the story for me. This is a story about survival or death. Which one the character chooses you don’t want to miss. A story that is full of action and just hard to put down. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

Yarissa thinks she can complete her spy training and then become a part of the Elite squad to protect the Twilight realm from ever being taken over again. However, her plans don’t go quite as planned when she is asked by King Pheonix to help with a mission that no elf has ever come back from… find Princess Zyanna in the Night realm where she was secreted away to for protection. Can Yarissa come to terms with her magic that she sees as useless in a fight? Will she be able to locate the princess before her cover is blown?

This is a quick, fun read! Yarissa has a lot of doubt in herself and her future. I enjoyed reading about how she slowly comes to terms with her magic and uses it to her advantage. As she gains confidence in herself, she becomes more self-assured and finds help in places she wasn’t expecting to find help. This seems to be a perfect gap book for the second book in this series. I am looking forward to reading the next book!!

I really enjoyed this book! This author has this way of writing that makes it seem like we’re traveling on the journey with Yarissa, seeing the way she thinks things through – or doesn’t think things through, as the case may be. I adore the world she’s weaved, and wish I could walk through it with Yarissa. I appreciate the way that her superiors have this faith in her and see her potential in a way that she doesn’t, because it mimics what real life seems like. So many times, it’s the people around us who see our true potential and give us hints as to what our next steps should be, and that is beautifully illustrated in this book. I truly enjoy watching Yarissa grow throughout her journey and look forward to reading more by this author!

This was a fantastic start to a magical new series! We start by meeting Phoenix, the crown prince of the Twilight Realm. Unfortunately his parents are murdered in a coup and he and his sister are separated and he is raised in obscurity until he is old enough to take back his crown. We then meet a young Zoe, a virtual prisoner in her parents’ castle, and she is desperate to escape. She begins to realize how her magic can work for her and she is determined to keep it a secret from those who would use it to harm others. The book bounces back and forth between the two characters and from when they are younger until the present time for them. I loved seeing how the story unfolded and the characters grew and matured. Both Zoe and Nix want so badly to feel love and be needed, but they are so scared of being hurt that they keep their guards up. It was so sweet to see how they get to know each other while working to try and save a Kingdom! It was an awesome book to read and I can’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy!

This was a great bridge story between Book 1 and Book 2 of the Twilight Realm Series. We get to meet Yarissa, a young adult elf who thinks she has everything planned out and then bam! Everything starts to spiral out of control. At the start of the book, she is on a spy mission that she has to complete for her training and the mission starts to go sideways, but thanks to her quick thinking, she is able to complete the mission. This sets off a series changes she didn’t expect or plan for. As we progress through the book we see her start to grow as an elf and start to believe in herself. She begins to make new friends and slowly lets herself start to trust again. She has been entrusted in an important mission by King Phoenix to find his missing sister and she is determined to complete her mission. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and made me even more excited for book 2.

This is book 1.5 in The Twilight Realm Trilogy. This is a young adult story however it was thrilling enough to keep me entertained and captivated. The author’s world building is amazing and our main character I loved. She is so fiesty and determined that nothing will stop her from completing her assignment.
Yarissa didn’t want to be a spy. She was completing her training and wanted to join the Elites to protect her Realm. However fate and the king had other plans for her.

Now she finds herself sent on a mission to find the whereabouts of the missing princess. She starts her journey with 3 other people but ends up on her own. Now she needs to find a way to complete this assignment on her own.
However things don’t go sailing and when she finds herself captured she needs to use all her skills as a fighter and a spy to save herself.

This story is full of magic and adventure. It’s a story about learning to trust and also trusting yourself and your own ability. I can’t wait to see how the story progresses

Twilight’s Spy is book #1.5 in The Twilight Realm Trilogy by K.M. Wray. It is a YA fantasy adventure story with elves, dragons, magic, action, adventure, emotion, a quest, great world creation, and drama.
In this instalment we follow Yarissa on a spy mission, but things don’t quite go according to plan and get more complicated when she finds herself trapped in the Night Realm, fighting to survive… things seem quite dire. What happens makes for an exciting read.
Again, the world building is really original, and Ms. Wray has done a good job of bringing her ‘world’, characters, and story to life. It was a fun story to read- and I look forward to more.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, K.M Wray!

This book certainly brought on its own level of intrigue and wonder! The author wrote a wonderful story, with a very good visual aspect as well. I loved reading of the Realm and its inhabitants of the creature that resided there. The story had its own magic, and great character depth and development as well!

What I loved most was the flow of the story. It was at a good pace where you got to know the characters that you met and came across. Yarissa was a wonderful character. Her sense of determination was very admirable, but when she goes on the quest that is assigned to her, though it was against her preference, she grows so much, and finds things deep from within her. I found that remarkable and realistic at the same time. I really valued the author put that character growth such as that in there. I was hooked all the way through, the book certainly kept me interested. I need the next book right now, as per how it ended, I must seriously learn rather quick how things turned out! The writing was magical! Loved this book!

Truly a wonderful book, that is full of magic and adventure. I highly am recommending this book to be read with no doubt at all! The author is very highly recommended as well. Both are a must read!

I really liked the first book in this series and was excited to see a new book come out! This book was written to bridge the gap between the first and second book and give us insight and the backstory for a character in the second book. The main character is smart and stubborn and really easy to like. Yarissa has just finished her training and can’t wait to become part of the Elites, but first she is sent as a spy into the Night Realm. She doesn’t want to be a spy and really just wants to help keep her people safe, but she learns a lot about herself, the fighters, and her training during the mission. She makes friends and tries to fit in while in the Night Realm, which is hard with her blond hair and sun kissed darker skin. The description of the realms is detailed and I am so excited for the next book in the series!

A novella that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat wanting to know what happens next. Toss in some romance, a bit of action, a little adventure and suspense. I didn’t see that cliffhanger coming. I will eagerly be awaiting the next book.
