Twilight's SpyTwilight’s Spy by K.M. Wray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The adventure continues with Twilight’s Spy which is a unique YA fantasy story. It is book 1.5 in the Twilight Realm Trilogy. It is a quick read but there is lots going on. There are plenty of magical beings in this story elves and dragons and more to entice the reader. The story and characters are well developed. The fantasy land KM has created is intriguing and visually pleasant. There is action, mystery, love, deceit, pain, and betrayal.

A warrior assigned to play spy. She has to go where no Elf has come back from, the Night Realm. If only she could get her magic to work. Our main character is strong, determined and sassy and vows to complete her mission.

Although this is a young adult fiction, the characters and vivid world building really suck you in. There is great character developments and a page turning plot.

Depending on your reading speed this is a novel that can be enjoyed in a day; it is face paced and as a majority of it takes place over only a couple of days, it is hard to put down.

Looking forward to the next book in the trilogy, I need to know what comes next!!!

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twilight’s Curse is an exciting fantasy novel, suitable for teen and YA readers but also perfectly enjoyable for adults. It is the first book in the Twilight Realm trilogy, set in a world of elves, brownies and magic.

It’s a wonderful, original world with loads of cool details. I particularly like Zoe’s magic tattoos – given to her against her will, but proving too have power beyond what her parents could have guessed. And the tree houses – bigger on the inside and brimming with nature magic.

The narration is first person, switching between Nix and Zoe’s perspectives. The story jumps around in time a bit, filling in the gaps between the initial tragedy that sets off the events of the book and the present day where Nix and Zoe come into their destinies. It’s always made clear whose perspective we’re getting, and where each section fits in the timeline.

This story gets five stars from me, and I would recommend it to fantasy lovers looking for something a bit different! Plenty of magic and adventure to be found here.

This is a classic YA fantasy novel – it has the character and world building, the magic, everything. It took me a few days to get into, but it is a very good page-turning, easy read once you do. There is a bit of time-jumping, but it is important for building a backstory, and it is done in a way that makes sense, it isn’t jarring or anything. Once you get past that part, the story develops beautifully. If you enjoy fantasy books, definitely give this one a shot!

Seeing your mother killed and your dad sacrificed himself in front of you can really be traumatizing. Then being royalty and having to hide identity for fear of being killed can take a toll. Then it’s time to take back your kingdom back and proclaim yourself king. What an eventful story.

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray

Nix is an orphaned prince of the Twilight Realm who has to gone into hiding. Zoe, the daughter of the usurpers, ran away from her parents after years of abuse. Both are searching for a way to end the tyranny and set everything back to rights. As their lives and similar missions become intertwined, can they work together or will they let their differences come between them?

This was a fantastic YA read. The characters were well written and the plot moved quickly. My attention was captured from the very beginning and I was rooting for Zoe and Nix to overcome their fears and work together. It saddened me to read of the abuse (not explicitly written) that Zoe had undergone and the trauma that Nix experienced. However, I appreciated that despite these awful experiences, neither character let it define who they were or keep them from doing/seeing the good in others.

I would recommend this book!

Zoe has parents that are up to no good as she knows with experience and pain. Nix’s parents are killed in front of him and he hides for over a decade even though it may seem long isn’t for his nightmare each night. 14 years later Zoe and Nix meet and that will either decide fate to help each other or avoid each other to help take over the kingdom from the wrong hands. I truly enjoyed this book. It came with so many stories and relationships in this first book in the series. I’m ready to pick up the second book!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The story and plot was good! The detail in the emotions and the way the author shows you the weight on Nix and Zoe’s shoulders was really good! I can’t give this 5 stars because of the writing style. I am such a stickler for writing style, but there are so many of them and many people prefer completely different styles than me. The short sentences don’t always get me, but when they are more common in a book it makes it harder to read (I have dyslexia and small punctuation like commas and periods tend to mess with me).

All in all, the plot was amazing and the story came alive around me. I absolutely will be recommending this book to friends!!

Twilight’s Curse, book 1 in the Twilight Realm Series was very well written. The book is a YA fantasy story with adventure that includes elves, magic and lots of action, emotions and some drama too.
The character building is great and really keeps the reader’s attention and makes them want to keep on reading.
Zoe and Nix are great main characters, and the author has done a great job of portraying how each of these characters feels throughout the book not only about each other, but their families and other adults or role models in their lives.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy fantasy and YA novels as you will not be disappointed! I cannot wait until I can read the second book.

Twilight’s Curse: Book 1 Twilight Realm Trilogy by K.M. Wray – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Zoe and Nix are elves from the Twilight Realm, both of them have their secrets and a past which haunts them every day, Nix in particular has the same dream where he relives the deaths of his parents, the King and Queen of the Twilight Realm at the hands of Elves from another Realm. He watched them being killed because he wouldn’t come out of hiding at the killer’s request, but now his dreams have changed and he is wondering if now is the time he has been dreading all the years since the event happened. He has been living with this dread for years and has been trained by the elf who helped him to escape and to blend in with the elves living around them so that he wouldn’t be found and killed himself, however reluctant he is to take on the mantle of King when he is older.

Zoe has been experimented on from a young age by her parents when they discovered that she had strong magic running through her veins, but not just any magic, living magic and so they used tattoos to try and subdue and control her, however, their plan didn’t work, or at least not in the way they expected, instead, they have become living things all of their own who help Zoe to deal with the experiments. The last time she was brought in for her mother to complete one of her procedures, something went wrong and now Zoe feels like her magic has been fractured, but the last straw comes when she sees that they are starting to experiment on another young elf like her, so she gathers her things and the child and escapes.

After Zoe escapes from the fortress she grew up in, she comes across a tree which doesn’t look like any other she has ever seen and inside she is welcomed by an old elf who offers her food and a bed to rest in, he appears kind and both her and the elven child are exhausted so she accepts his offer. As the time passes, she stays with the old hermit and helps to rescue street children and give them a home and a new life, but still she is drawn back to her old home despite the dread it instils in her.

One day, Zoe and Nix meet accidentally while listening to an announcement in a local town square, the contents of which shock Nix into a realisation that he will have to confront his past, but while starting on this process, bumps into Zoe again and they get in each others way, however, when they help each other on another night, it leads to them having an open and honest conversation, however, this is interrupted with news that Zoe’s home has been attacked and the children taken back to the fortress. This is where their paths align, but will Nix be able to convince Zoe that they could make a powerful team and that their goals are the same, or will their combined secrets lead to them failing the Realm and its inhabitants in their hour of need? This is a fantasy adventure full of magic and secrets which pulls you into a different world where nothing is as it seems and danger lurks around every corner as futures are fought for while pasts are revealed.

I absolutely loved this book! The world that K.M. Wray weaves in this first book Twilight’s Curse is, for lack of a better word, fantastical! There are so many elements of this world, and all seem so magical and enchanting. While the individual pieces of K.M. Wray’s Twilight Realm are magical, the story still has some darkness to it. The characters are well-written and still have some realism to their emotions and thoughts, which helps connect the reader to them. There are many characters in the story, but their connections to one another are explained to the reader, which I really enjoyed. I have read many Young Adult fantasies before and Twilight’s Curse ranks among one of the more interesting I have read. I cannot wait for the rest of the Trilogy!

Oh my goodness! I am in love with all the elven characters in this boo, well most of them anyway! From page one, I entered the Elven Realm and never looked back. I am so hooked on fantasy stories and this book is just perfect! The Elves, Brownies and other cute creatures made such a huge impact in this story. I love, love, love Nix and his advisor and mentor Nate. A coming-of-age story when one must grow up before he thinks he is ready set in the fantastical realm of elves and other magical creatures. I touch very tree that I am near in hopes that their secrets will be revealed to me. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in the series. This author captured my heart and the whimsy of those we cannot see unless we are willing to accept that magic exists. My blood boiled when I read about Sirina not being a very nice mother/person and the cruelties she applied to those weaker than her. The moving tattoos are just so amazing to read about and really could picture them splitting off from their person and becoming helpers. I could feel their warmth and compassion as described by the author. Such a great book. The characters are so well written and fun to get to know. A must read for all!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I couldn’t put this book down; literally read it in one day between pesky tasks like work and preparing food for sustenance.

The book builds a wonderfully magical world of elves and other mystical creatures. Starting out with the murder of the elven king and queen of the Twilight Realm, the book follows the young Prince Phoenix into hiding with his father’s advisor.

With both changing their names for safety, Nix and Nate live quietly until the time is right for the prince to take back his rightful throne. In that time, Nix continues his education and learns to blend with locals.

Meanwhile, a young girl, Zoe, is trapped in a fortress as the daughter and captor of her parents, the regents who are responsible for the royal deaths. As her mother’s personal lab rat, Zoe endures torture by receiving tattoos infused with dark magic. Possessing the magic to give life, Zoe discovers she can control the tattoos and use them to her advantage, but the latest one is darker than all the others and she becomes desperate to escape.

Fate brings Nix and Zoe together, and they must battle both their own fears and doubts and Zoe’s parents together if the Twilight Realm can heal and be restored.

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nix is the Crown Prince, but only one other elf and the brownies from his palace know. He’s in hiding after the brutal death of his parents at the hands of the current regents in charge of the Twilight Realm.

Zoe grew up being poked and prodded by her mother to see just what her magic could do. Eventually, she escaped and is now living with an elf in the woods trying her best to heal herself and other children her parents have hurt.

Both Zoe and Nix have a plan to break into the fortress. Nix to save his sister from the regents; Zoe to save the children from her parents. It’s when they’re planning that they realize just who the other is and where they come from. Will this effect how they work together? Can they trust each other?

Twilight’s Curse is absolutely magical. I struggled a little getting into it, but I think that mainly is because I don’t typically fall into this style of fantasy when reading. It turned into a fun, entertaining read that made me laugh out loud in several places while also keeping me in suspense during others.

Nix is a young elf trying so hard to find out how to be the best king for his people but also keep himself alive while he finds his sister. Zoe is determined to right so many of her parents wrongs and save the children from the pain she was handed. Their chemistry and frustration towards one another is palpable and fun to read.

I look forward to seeing what K. M. Wray has in store for these two and all of the Twilight Realm.

Twilight Curse is a great start to the Twilight Realm Series. There is alot of great descriptive work in this book. One of the first things that attracted me to this book is the blur and the cover as its extremely attractive. Zoe magic is very unique and I like the way it is explain an how she uses it. I hate her parents they are genuinely horrible people who would do that. Having all the magical mystical fantasy character made me feel so alive. The world bulding in this book is fantastic. I am looking forward to the next books in the trilogy.

I do not know how to start this review, the truth is that I have always loved fantasy books but honestly I had never ventured to read a book with magical creatures and only magical creatures. but the truth is that it has made me open up one more space in my mind and I decided to give it a 100% chance
The story is quite good and the truth is that not everything is happiness and super epic adventures but there is also a dark and quite dense side but I think that makes it an even more special book.
The author did a pretty impressive job in creating the world and best of all, he has been able to create it so realistically and has invited us to live in it.

Twilight’s Curse is about a young elf, named Nix, who was in line for the throne of the Twilight Realm. When Nix was young, his parents the King and Queen were murdered before his eyes by the Dions. The Royal Advisor, Nate, took Nix into hiding until it was his time to come back and take up the throne.

The other main character is another young elf by the name of Zoe. She is unique with life giving magic. Her parents, the Dions, experimented on her by giving Zoe magical tattoos. Zoe is able to bring her tattoos to life and use them to her advantage. One night she couldn’t handle it anymore and ran away from home. Zoe ran until she comes to a tree inhabited by Nate who then takes her in.

The Book is mostly set years after the initial falling of the Royals, Nix is older now and has no intention of going back to his childhood home. When Nix has a dream that forsaw him meeting Zoe, everything changes. The next day he sees Zoe. They have a common enemy but can they put their differences aside to come together to take down the Dions? Elves, magic, dragons… what’s not to love! I recommend this book highly!

However, I am SO happy that I decided to give Twilight’s Curse a chance! The storyline, the characters, the world-building, EVERYTHING was wonderful. This is the first book I have read by K.M. Any world with Elves in it is where I want to be!! K.M. Wray has captured full attention with this wonderful story, and its truly fantasy written at its finest. The author created this unique realm inhabited by the most amazing magical beings that made you feel as if you were there on the adventure with them.

Zoe and Nix are the main characters and they are entangled together by a dark and dramatic set of events. Nix who is actually Prince Phoenix had to endure watching his parents be murdered as they sacrificed their lives for him and his sister. Zoe’s parents are the ones who killed the King and Queen and doing everything they can to bring her into the darkness.
Zoe and Nix must come together to save the realm and stop her parents from their plans. As the story progresses we get the full back story of their lives, and a glimpse of the foreseeable future that is prophesized.
The story is full of action, suspense, and dramatic twists that only enhance the story more.

Twilight's CurseTwilight’s Curse by K.M. Wray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twilight’s Curse is the first book in the Twilight Realm series by K.M. Wray. This book is a Young Adult fantasy story with dragons, elves, magic, adventures, and a good story about coming to age and responsibility. The story is told in a split POV. We are experiencing the story right alongside Nix, a young child-adult, who has witnessed his parents’ death at the hand of a former ally and been forced to go into hiding to protect not just himself but his entire kingdom. We also get to follow Zoe’s journey, a young elf with magical abilities who is tormented and experimented on by her mother when those abilities are discovered. Along the journey towards saving their kingdom, we meet other fascinating characters.

K.M. Wray has created such a magical universe with characters that we can fall in love with as well as despise. The story flows effortlessly as though it truly was just a diary of someone’s life. The way the story is written adds both complexities to the characters as well as simplicity as the story naturally unfolds. It was an easy read and a story that kept my attention and didn’t add extra fluff to make it enjoyable. The language was easy to understand where I feel my 10 year old could easily read and enjoy the book, but my husband and I also enjoyed the story. By the time I finished this book, I was very eager to start the next book in the series. The continuation of the story of the Twilight Realm is set to be an amazing adventure and I can’t wait for more.

Twilight’s Cure is a YA-young adult Fantasy book. I love the fact that this is a story about elves, dragons, magic, action, and drama. It is refreshing reading a book that had something other than vampires in the YA department. K. M. Wray is a newer author and so far I am loving her world-building story. It has captured my attention from the first paragraph to the final word of the book. The characters are outstanding and I love the adventure I went on with them. This is a story about Zoe and Nix. Zoe is an elf with her magic broken. Nix is the elf that is trying to help Zoe but she needs to stop throwing daggers at him and join in the fight for peace. Will Nix get Zoe to help him save his kingdom? Will Zoe get her magic back and quit throwing daggers at Nix? I highly recommend this book to see for yourself how amazing Zoe and Nix’s story is thought out.

Twilight’s Curse is the first book in the Twilight Realm Series. The series is about elves in one of the five realms: Day, Night, Dawn, Light, and Twilight. This book focuses on the royals in the Twilight realm. The book starts out with Prince Phoenix being woken up and whisked away from the danger that has invaded the Royal Tree. He watches as his parents are murdered, and he is helpless to defend them. The rest of the story follows him as he grows up safely tucked away and going by the name of Nix. As a reader, we grow to love Nix and the man he is becoming. We share in his bewilderment of Zoe, but we grow to love her as he does. Together, they must work to defeat the evil in their realm and reclaim what has been stolen from them. I loved this book so much, and I loved watching the characters grow.
