Devil’s Dilemma: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Devil's Dilemma (Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #4)Devil’s Dilemma by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Dilemma is the 4th book in the Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) by Manda Mellett. With each book I read in this series I then say that they are my favourite. This is because Manda Mellett is just getting better and better. This book was no different in that it has now become my favourite. I don’t know how Manda Mellett does it but she just keeps giving us fantastic characters and amazing storylines.
In this book we are given the story of Pyro and Melissa. We met Melissa in book 3 as the girlfriend of Skull. When Skull goes missing, Pyro steps in to be the shoulder for Melissa to cry on. His feelings for her getting stronger by the day but knowing he can’t act on them as she’s been claimed by Skull.
As with all the other Satan’s Devils book, the author pulls you in from the very start, takes you on a rollercoaster journey, and stamps on your heart leaving you totally overcome at what you’ve just gone through.
This story has everything, So much emotion, heartbreak, love, betrayal etc. There are many happy, light hearted moments and then you are sobbing like a baby in the heartbreaking moments. Tissues are definitely advised.
I had read somewhere that the author planned to stop at book 4 and was gutted as there are still so many awesome single guys in the MC who need their stories to be told. However, I was ecstatic to read at the end of this book that there will be a book 5 coming soon.
Keep them coming Manda Mellett, this series is awesome!!

Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Devil's Due: Satan's Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3Devil’s Due: Satan’s Devils MC Colorado Chapter #3 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Devil’s Due is the 3rd book in the amazing Satan’s Devils (Colorado Chapter) by Manda Mellett. Every time I read one of her books I say it is my favourite and I’m going to say it again. With each book she just gets better and better and I’m even more hooked to her awesome group of bikers.
Like many other reviews you may read of this book, I am not going to name the hero as the author wishes this to be a surprise. A very pleasant surprise.
Like all her other books, this had me gripped straight away and didn’t let me go. I absolutely adored the hero and his heroine Stevie. Stevie is one of the most amazing characters I’ve read in a very long time. I loved that the author chose to have a blind character as her leading lady. And I may add that she’s one determined, stubborn, independent lady. She’s totally kickass and I just adored everything about her.
One thing I love about this author’s writing is that she always throws in a good few twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Reading this book I was convinced that at some point we’d discover that Stevie isn’t actually blind as that’s the kind of thing Manda Mellett does to you. But as I’m usually rubbish as guessing her plot twists, I was wrong as usual! Lol!.
As always from this author, this book is filled with so much drama and suspense, you won’t want to put it down. Added to that is a healthy dose of angst and romance. For me, a perfect package.

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter Book 2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Demon's Angel: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Demon’s Angel is the 2nd book in the amazing Satan’s Devils (Colorado Chapter) Series by Manda Mellett. Each book can be read as a stand-alone although the characters from other books, including her Satan’s Devils Arizona series, do appear in all books. I first read this author’s work near the end of the Arizona series and each time I read another, it becomes my favourite. This time is no different. The stories just keep getting better and better.
You would think that after so many books the storylines could become stale or too similar but it’s totally the opposite. This book, like the others before it, grabbed me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go. In this book we are told the story of Demon who is the president of the Satan’s Devils in Colorado. Demon has had a lot to come to terms with recently (as we learned in Paladin’s Hell). Last thing he needs is a woman distracting him but when Violet Palmer comes back into his life needing help, he just can’t resist the one woman who has always had a place in his heart.
This book had all the feels. The intrigue and suspense will have you on the edge of your seat. There are many twists and turns in the story that keep you totally gripped. I absolutely love the way that Manda Mellett weaves a fascinating story with characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. I definitely recommend this book.

Friend (What Happens on Campus Series Book 3) by M L Sparrow – Review by Karyn Taylor

FriendFriend by M.L. Sparrow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Friend: A College Romance (What Happens On Campus Book 3) is a fantastic friends to lovers romance novel by M.L. Sparrow. I had read and loved the first two books in this series Player and Flirt and have been looking forward to Terri and Jet’s story for a long time. I’m so glad to say that it was so worth the wait as this is my favourite book in the series so far (although I have to say I can’t wait to read Payton and Dawson’s story).
Terri and Jet have been best friends for 3 years during which Terri has had a major crush on Jet but has accepted that they will be nothing more than best friends. When Terri is subjected to a vicious sexual assault she pushes everyone, including Jet away. A chance comment from a friend saying that Terri is in love with Jet has him totally re-evaluating their friendship. Deciding that he want to have a relationship with Terri he sets out to prove that he’s the perfect man for Terri. As much as this is what Terri has always wanted to hear, she’s in a very vulnerable state and tries to push Jet away.
This is a very powerful friends to lovers romance. The author does a fantastic job of dealing with the aftermath of a sexual assault. This book has all the feels and my heart broke for Terri (and Jet) on many occasions.
I loved the dynamic between these two characters, their total devotion to each other is heartwarming. If there was ever 2 friends who deserved a HEA then it’s these 2. But will they get their HEA? The path to true love never runs smooth and these 2 are no exception.
I have absolutely loved this series so far and Friend is my favourite…at the moment!

Calling the Curveball: a Lawson Family Novel by Tracey Cramer Kelly – Review by Karyn Taylor

Calling the CurveballCalling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calling The Curveball: A Lawson Family Novel is the first book in a new series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This was the first time I had read any of this author’s work so was unsure what to expect. Reading the blurb, this looked like just the type of book that I would enjoy and I’m so glad that I gave this book a chance as I really, really enjoyed it.
Jamie Lawson still hasn’t got over the death of his wife in a car accident 6 years previously. He is crippled by guilt as he was the driver of the car and they were having an argument at the time. Injuries he sustained in the accident put an end to a professional baseball career so now he umpires instead.
While umpiring a game he meets the beautiful Kira Walker, a divorced teacher who is in town to spend the summer with her sister’s family.
To say there is an immediate attraction is an understatement but both are broken, especially Jamie. From here we have the most amazing angst filled story of 2 people who are obviously very attracted to each other but are being held back by their pasts.
I loved the characters of Jamie and Kira and I was very quickly drawn into their story. My heart broke for them on so many occasions and being the big softie that I am, tissues were required.
Be prepared to be taken on an amazing roller coaster journey filled with highs and lows. Added to this is Jamie’s awesome family members who we get to meet. I’m sure we will get to know this family much more in the remainder of this series. I already have the 2nd book on my kindle waiting for me and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this intriguing family.

Resisting the Rancher (The Hills of Texas Book 2) by Kadie Scott – Review by Karyn Taylor

Resisting the Rancher (Hills of Texas, #2)Resisting the Rancher by Kadie Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Resisting The Rancher is the 2nd book in the Hills of Texas Series by Kadie Scott. Each book can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. Before this I had only read the 3rd book Taming The Troublemaker and did not find that this spoiled my reading of a previous book in the series.
Each book tells us the story of one of the Hill’s siblings, in this case Williams (Will) who runs the family ranch, providing animals to take part in rodeos. At one such rodeo Rusty Walker comes crashing into his life. Rusty is hoping to inherit her father’s ranch but he’s just told her that she needs to marry a rancher in order to inherit. Will and Rusty agree to marry so that she can inherit and he can gain a partnership with her family.
I loved both Will and Rusty, they are both amazing characters. Both are headstrong, hard-working and will do anything for their families. The story is so angst filled and will take you through many emotions. I loved reading the growing relationship between the 2 as they both fought the attraction they had for each other. Will is determined that he wants to have Rusty as his real wife and not a fake one and he does everything he can to make Rusty see that they are perfect for each other.
Having now read book 3 and then book 2 in this great series, I really want to read the others and get the stories of the rest of the Hill siblings.

A Dark Sparrow Box Set (Dark Sparrow Series Books 1-3) by India Kells – Review by Karyn Taylor

A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Dark Sparrow Box Set contains books 1-3 in the thrilling Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. It contains the 3 full length novels Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard and Wild Bastard. India Kells is an author I’ve come to love over the last 18 months and these 3 books are a fantastic example of how great an author she is.
The Dark Sparrow series is centred around 6 brothers. They are all the bastard sons of their evil father and have joined forces to bring him down. Each book gives us the story of one brother and the woman who has captured his heart. These 3 books contain Alexsei, Archer and Kai.
You could technically read each of these books as a standalone but as it’s such an amazing series I’d definitely recommend reading them all, starting with these 3.
If you love a great romance story which is filled with drama and suspense then this is definitely the series for you. India Kells sure knows how to write a fantastic story that will take you on an amazing roller coaster of a journey. Added to that is her skill of writing amazing characters who really draw you into their stories and make you want more. I promise that you will absolutely love Alexsei, Archer and Kai.
As there are 6 brothers I’m kind of assuming that we are going to get another 3 fabulous books to add to this series. I’m praying that is the case as this is a series I could read over and over and still love it every time.

The Bad Twin by Avery Scott – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Bad TwinThe Bad Twin by Avery Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Bad Twin: A Mistaken Identity Billionaire Romance is a great contemporary romance novel from Avery Scott. I had previously read The First Lady and Too Hot To Handle by this author and had loved them both so I had high hopes for this book. Added to the fact that the blurb was just right up my street then there was no way that I was not going to love this book. I’m so glad to say that my gut reaction was correct. I loved this book.
This is the ultimate case of mistaken identity. Abby Levesque lives with her identical twin Gabrielle in their grandmother’s old house which they are at risk of losing. When Gabby’s boss Hudson turns up at their house he mistakes Abby for Gabby and demands that she accompanies him on a work trip to Paris or she will lose her job. What’s a girl to do? Abby goes with him and pretends to be her sister as they really need the money to save their house.
I have to say that I loved both Abby and Hudson. Abby is ‘the good twin’ and just wants to do what’s right to help her family. Hudson just wants his father to be proud of him. I loved the interactions between the 2, especially when Hudson asked questions about their trip which Abby had no clue to the answer as Gabby had been the one who did the organising, so she just looked to be stupid and incompetent.
So what would happen when Hudson finds out that it isn’t his assistant Gabby who has been with him? Especially as he had come to like the version of Gabby he had seen on the trip. I’m not going to spoil that for you, you’ll just have to read The Bad Twin to find out. It won’t disappoint!

Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter Book 1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Paladin's Hell: Satan's Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #1Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #1 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Paladin’s Hell is the first book in the Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) by Manda Mellett. This is a spin off series from the Satan’s Devils MC series which is set in Tucson. There is some overlap of characters from the original series and I think this helps you when reading as there are a few ‘old friends’ to make you feel more at home.
The main characters Paladin and Jayden were originally introduced back in the early Tuczon books when Jayden was rescued from an evil group who had been using the 14 year old as a sex slave. As Paladin was the one who carried her to safety there has always been a very strong bond between the 2 and it was assumed that they would become a couple when Jayden was old enough.
This book takes place a few years later as Jayden is approaching the age of consent. When word is out that the evil group are coming after Jayden, the young sweethearts transfer to the Colorado branch of their MC. I totally adored the relationship between Paladin and Jayden. They were just so perfect for each other although some tried to keep them apart.
As well as Pal and Jayden’s story, this book contains a great deal of the story of Hellfire (the prez) and his old lady Moira. I was totally captivated by their story, from their troubles in the early days and the current tensions between them.
I have read some, but not all, of the original Satan’s Devils books and have really, really enjoyed them but this has to be my favourite. I stayed up to 3am to finish this book as I just couldn’t put it down.

Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia #2) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Karyn Taylor

Virtue & Vice (Spicetopia Book 2)Virtue & Vice by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Virtue & Vice is the 2nd book in the Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. This book starts exactly where Sugar & Spice finished. I would definitely recommend that you read Sugar & Spice first, infact, the author recommends this too.
Sugar & Spice had many hot and steamy moments but it has nothing on this book. OMG this was off the charts HOT! This book contains BDSM and swinging so is not for the prudish person. Very early on there is a sex scene containing two couples, Cy & Jolie from Sugar & Spice and Moon & Katja who are the main characters in this book. If you’ve read the first book, they are the couple that Cy & Jolie meet at the very end of the book.
Moon & Katja are a married couple who have been in the swinger’s lifestyle for many years. Bored with their jobs, they are keen to join Cy and Jolie in their plans to open an adult theme park. I loved both Moon and Katja’s characters. They are obviously very much in love and can’t get enough of each other.
Although there is a lot of sexual content in this book, there is also a lot of other storylines going on that are very interesting and enjoyable and will keep you hooked.
At the moment there are another 2 books planned in this series and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the couples we have already met and those we’ve still to be introduced to.

Rogue Wave (The Inland Seas Series Book 2) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rogue Wave (The Inland Seas #2)Rogue Wave by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rogue Wave is the 2nd book in the Inland Seas series by Gwyn McNamee. It can be read as a standalone but I’d suggest you also read Squall Line before this book, purely as Squall Line is a fantastic book and will introduce you to Grace and Warwick who also play an important role in this book. I first became a fan of Gwyn McNamee by reading her fabulous Slip Series (highly recommended).
Although I’m a fan of this author I was very wary of reading this book as I really didn’t like the main character Cutter in the first book, so I was afraid that I wouldn’t connect with him in this book. He’s an angry, abrupt, arrogant man. For most of this book I still didn’t like him at all. This did not stop me from loving this book. Valentina is a total badass, feisty woman and gives back as good as she gets from Cutter. I loved the dynamic between them, how they both distrusted and disliked each other yet couldn’t help but be wildly attracted to each other.
I also found that I was totally gripped to the storyline from the very beginning and was kept gripped throughout. This book is filled with danger and suspense and you can’t put it down as you want to know what’s happening next.
I really hope that the author continues this series as I’d love to see more from the other guys in the group.

Forbidden (Tales of Passion, Lust & Betrayal Vol. 1) by Autumn Sand – Review by Karyn Taylor

ForbiddenForbidden by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forbidden is a tantalising, erotic novella from Autumn Sand. I have read several of her books over the last year or so and have become a huge fan of her writing. I would have read this book anyway even without reading the blurb as I’ve loved everything I’ve read so far, but the blurb made me REALLY want to read this book.
I love the way the book is structured, with the ‘narrator’ Neria introducing each story and teasing the reader as to their ‘reaction’ to each story.
There are 7 separate short stories, each described as being in a different room in a sex club for the reader to ‘watch’.
I don’t know how Autumn Sand did it but she threw in a curveball or twist to every story and I did not see any of them coming. Either I’m totally rubbish at guessing where a story is going, or the author has a very wicked, devious mind. I think it’s a little of the first and a lot of the latter.
Each story was uniquely different, although all had a very sexual content. If you are a bit of a prude then this book is not or you. You need to read this book with a very open mind. If you like a bit of erotica in your books then this is definitely the book for you.
A must read!

A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee – Review by Karyn Taylor

A Perfect FitA Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee is an amazingly sweet, small town romance that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I got was a really enjoyable contemporary romance novel.
The 2 main characters Duncan (Dunk) McCoy and Daisy Rhys were amazing characters. Ex-jock, now high school gym teacher and coach of the school team, Dunk is starting to question his life. He’s always been the happy go lucky, dumb jock in other people’s eyes and now that he’s hit 30 he’d like to change this. Daisy Rhys is divorced and working at her family’s law firm, whereas she’d still prefer to be a sculptor as she had been previously.
After these 2 hit it off at a wedding and have a hot and steamy night together, Dunk wakes up the next day and thinks it all was a dream until a friend points out the hickey on his neck, resulting in Dunk desperately trying to find out who had been the woman of is dreams.
What results are lots of funny scenes where Dunk tries to find the mystery lady. Once he finds Daisy they are pretty smitten. Of course the path to true love never runs smooth which leads to some very funny scenes.
One of the things I loved most about this book was the group of friends and the camaraderie they had with each other. A very close knit group, not scared to make fun of each other but always there when you need them.
When I had finished this book I then realised that there are other books containing this group of friends that come before this one, so I’ll be sure to check those out.

Fisher Men X-ing Lines (Fisher Men Book II) by Rebel Nicks O’Dey – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Fisher Men X-ing Lines (Book #2)The Fisher Men X-ing Lines by Rebel Nicks O’Dey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Fisher Men X-ing Lines is the 2nd book in the Fisher Men series by Rebel Nicks O’Dey. This book can be read as a stand-alone, however, I think you would get more from the book if you read the first book in this series before reading this one.
The start of this book runs concurrently with the first book so there is some overlap of the story, although you get it from a different point of view this time. At the end of the first book we get a sneak peak that there could be a budding romance between Rika and Connor. I was so excited to read this book when I realised that it was Connor and Rika’s story.
I absolutely loved both of these characters. I had loved them book in the first book and it was amazing to get deeper into each character. It was amazing that the 2 of them had been room-mates for a year without actually meeting each other.
This book is far more than a romance novel. There is a really interesting back story running throughout. The back story is intriguing and suspenseful and had me gripped, wondering how this story was going to pan out.
We’ve now had Xander and Connor’s stories which are both amazing. I now can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Zach and Morgan.

Not So Wrong (Love Grows Book 2) by Renee Regent – Review by Karyn Taylor

Not So Wrong (Love Grows series, Book 2)Not So Wrong by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Not So Wrong is the 2nd book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. It can be read as a stand-alone, even though Gibson and Sacha from the first book, Not So Broken are also in this book. In this second book Spencer is the cousin of Gibson and Melanie is Sacha’s best friend so it was an added bonus catching up with this couple again.
Like the first book, our hero and heroine are a very unlikely partnership. Spencer is a billionaire whereas Melanie grew up in a trailer park. What brings them together is music. Melanie is a fantastic singer/songwriter whereas Spencer has secretly been composing music for years. Having met at a family party, they discover this connection.
I have to say that I loved both of these characters. Melanie has had such a hard life so far. Her passion for music is what keeps her going. Spencer is an extremely likeable character, who also happens to be drop dead gorgeous. I was very intrigued as to why he and Spencer did not get on. What was the secret that Spencer was holding onto?
The story is action packed and fast paced, so it keeps you gripped from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope that this series will continue.

Truck Stopped (Satan’s Devils MC #11) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Truck StoppedTruck Stopped by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truck Stopped is the 11th book in the Satan’s Devils MC series by Manda Mellett. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone although characters from previous books are part of this story.
What can I say about Truck Stopped? OMG this book dragged me through every emotion possible. There are moments of great joy and euphoria that will have you laughing and smiling. Then there are moments of total heartbreak and desperation that will have you sobbing (tissues are definitely recommended when reading this book).
I totally loved this book. The main characters of Truck and Allie are amazing. The author has done a wonderful job with these characters. Truck is so broken after an accident while working as a firefighter left him badly scarred, physically and mentally. Allie has spent her whole adult life as a whore, firstly on the streets, then as a sweet butt for the Satan’s Devils MC.
I loved the way the story was told, with flashes to 20 years in the future, where Drummer and Peg are reminiscing about what happened with Truck and Allie.
I’ve only read a couple of the Satan’s Devils MC series but I have to say that this one gripped me and moved me the most. Just when you thought life couldn’t get any worse for Truck and Allie, yet another curve ball was thrown their way. The resilience that the 2 of them displayed was documented so well by the author.
I now need to go back and read some more of this series but I’m not sure any can top Truck and Allie’s story.

Claimed (The Torzial Affair Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claimed is the 3rd and final book in the outstanding Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. It starts right where book 2 ‘Bound’ left us on a cliffhanger. I would not recommend reading this book without having read ‘Shattered’ and ‘Bound’ first as it one continuous story through the 3 book series.
If possible, this book is even more action packed and fast paced than the previous two, taking the reader through so many twists and turns, and every emotion possible in the build up to a fantastic conclusion. The author throws a few surprises along the way that have you shouting out ‘WTF’.
I loved this book, particularly the growing relationship between Jenny and Brian as he pushes her limits, bringing out more of her submissive nature. They seem unable to keep their hands off each other, resulting in many hot and steamy scenes throughout the book.
Having done things back to front and read the 2 Billionaire’s Bodyguards book before this series, I loved seeing Jay and Matt in this setting. I also loved that the author drops some hints at the end of ‘Claimed’ as to what might come in the Billionaire’s Bodyguards books.
All in all, this book brings a truly amazing series to a conclusion. I would most definitely recommend this whole series to others. Now that I have discovered this amazing author, I’ll be sure to read more of her work.

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by TL Clark – Review by Karyn Taylor

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young LadyRegency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by T.L. Clark
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady is a very enjoyable historical romance from T.L. Clark. This is a genre that I do not usually read but I really liked the blurb and it came highly recommended. I have to say that I really, really enjoyed this book.
Set in Regency London we are told the story of 17 year old Lady Anne Frithringham. It is her ‘come out’ season in London where she has to attend many balls and events in the hope of finding a suitable husband. As the daughter of a Duke, there are many constraints on who would be considered suitable.
I warmed to Lady Anne as a character straight away, enjoying the many thoughts going through her head. I loved reading her exploits as she meets the many men who vie for her attention. A very mixed bunch indeed, from young and handsome to older and arrogant.
I also loved as the story progressed once Anne was married, It was interesting to see how she coped as a wife. It must be said that one of my favourite scenes takes place on her wedding night. I won’t give anything away but I found it hilarious. I also do not want to mention who became her husband as that would spoil much of the story.
I would definitely recommend this book to others, even if this is not a genre you normally read.

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay Romance Book 2) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Karyn Taylor

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay, #2)September Breeze by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

September Breeze is the 2nd book in the Cinnamon Bay Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone as each contains a complete story. I had not read any work by this author before but I was intrigued by the blurb and thought that this book would be just my type. Thankfully, I was right as I loved this book.
The one thing I loved so much about this book was the characters. Not only the main characters Brian and Tess (who are both awesome) but Brian’s 2 daughters Tatum and Alice both totally stole my heart. Added to these are the aptly named ‘trio of trouble’. You will love the bowling alley scene (not giving anything away but this scene is hilarious). I loved that the characters were down to earth, ‘normal’ people with everyday lives, making the story much more realistic.
This story grabbed me from the very beginning and didn’t let me go. It took me on an amazing roller coaster journey. There are moments which will make you cry, laugh, scream and go through every emotion possible. It is a beautiful romance novel that I would thoroughly recommend to others. Having read this book I’m eager to read more of Nikki Lynn Barrett’s work.

Tails Always Wins (Chasing Tails Book 1) by C.A. King – Review by Karyn Taylor

Tails Always WinsTails Always Wins by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tails Always Wins is the first book in the Chasing Tails Series by C.A. King. This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but, having heard good things about the author, I decided to give this book a chance. I’m glad I made the decision. It is a fast paced paranormal thriller that had me gripped from the very beginning, right through to the very end.
In this book shifters and humans are at odds with each other. There are people who are experimenting on shifters to see what other powers they may have. Brodie and Tails are determined to do something to stop this.
This results in a great story that I really enjoyed. There was a great deal of suspense which had me totally gripped, wondering what would happen next. The story is fast paced and full of action which keeps the reader engrossed in the story.
I loved the characters of Brodie and Tails. Brodie just wants a quiet life and not to be dragged into a battle whereas Tails is so vibrant and full of life and can’t wait to get into battle.
I loved that the author ended this book with The End…or is it. This gives me great hope that there is more to come from Brodie and Tails.

The Traitor (An Underground Bad Boys Romance Book 2) by India Kells – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys SeriesThe Traitor, An Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Traitor is the 2nd book in the Underground Bad Boys Series by India Kells. It is a fantastic M/F/M erotic romance novel that will have you gripped from the very beginning. India Kells is an author that has been rapidly climbing up my favourite authors list in the last 18 months and this book is another fantastic example of how great an author she is.
I loved both of the main characters. Josie is a young woman struggling with several jobs to pay off debt incurred by her estranged husband. Spencer Knox has recently moved to the town to start a new life. When he realises the horrid conditions she’s living in her insists that she moves in with him and his friend Gage. This is just the start of an erotic relationship between the 3 of them.
The sex scenes between the 3 of them are very hot and steamy. You may need a fan to cool yourself down. It becomes apparent after a while that Josie and Knox would prefer it to just be the 2 of them in the relationship.
There is more to this book than just hot sex (although that is damn good). Knox has a battle with his demons over his growing feelings for Josie. Josie’s estranged husband makes an unwanted appearance which puts Josie in danger.
I also loved that we had an appearance from Locke and Tessa from the first book in this series.
I hope that this is not the end of this series and that India Kells gives us more from the Underground Bad Boys.

Sugar & Spice (Spicetopia #1) by Phoebe Alexander Featured in the Sweetest Obsessions Boxed Set Collection.
I was already a huge fan of Phoebe Alexander having previously read her Eastern Shore Swingers Series, so was excited to read more of her work. This book did not disappoint in the slightest. I truly lived up to the high standards that I’ve grown to expect from Phoebe Alexander.
I adored the 2 main characters and their sexual chemistry was off the charts HOT. As always this author has included some very hot and steamy sex scenes.
Cy Sweet is the undercover boss, using the name Marcus Young, who is working in the family business Sweetopia to find out who is causing disruption amongst the staff. Little did Cy expect that he’d fall for Jolie Cox (The Red Velvet Queen). Jolie is a hardworking single parent struggling to bring up her 2 boys, one of whom has Cytstic Fibrosis. She hates the sweet family and everything they stand for but totally falls for Marcus not knowing his true identity.
This is a really compelling story, seeing Jolie’s struggles to provide for her boys and the lengths that she’s willing to go to, to provide for them. But what will happen when she discovers Marcus’ true identity? Well, I’m not going to give a spoiler, you’ll have to read this fantastic book to find out.

Eternity (Captivity Series Book 3) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Karyn Taylor

Eternity (Captivity Book 3)Eternity by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Eternity is the 3rd and final book in the Captivity Series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. I would definitely recommend that you read Captivity and Sanctuary before reading Eternity to properly understand the story and get a deeper insight into the characters.
Eternity starts where Sanctuary finishes. The team of shifters have reached Sanctuary and Aiden has been cured from the blood graft which was killing him. Just as they are all settling down to enjoy their new life they hear that there is a plan to contaminate the water supply with blood graft which would kill all shifters. The team decide that this must be stopped and so head back to the city with a plan in place.
I really enjoyed this book. Again, like in book 2, we get to know the characters in much more depth which I found very interesting. Not just events from their pasts, but what type of person they are.
Relationships also play an important role in this book, with both Aiden & Xander and Lorelei & Douglas experiencing highs and lows. Well, the path to true love is never easy and the author’s do a great job of developing these relationships.
Again, like the previous books there is a lot of humour in this book. The banter and camaraderie between the group is hilarious at times.
Sorry now that this series is over but I’m sure it’s one I’ll revisit again. Highly recommended.

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shattered is the first book in The Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. This series is a spin-off from The Prestian Series. I seem to be reading Via Mari’s series’ back to front. I started with the 2 Billionaire’s Bodyguards books before reading this series. Judging by how much I’ve loved these, I’m sure I will go onto reading The Prestian Series soon.
In Shattered, the main characters are Jenny Torzial (best friend of Kate from The Prestian series) and Brian Carrington (best friend of Chase Prestian). After her ex-boyfriend brutally raped her it was discovered that he had been laundering money through her business and working with some very undesirable characters. As Kate becomes a target from the Mafia, Brian does everything he can to keep her safe.
The chemistry between Jenny and Brian is sizzling hot, as are the many sex scenes that unfold between them. There is an element of BDSM in their growing relationship as Brian takes control. Jenny is happy to submit to Brian in the bedroom but struggles with him trying to control her out of the bedroom too.
This book is fast paced and full of action from the very beginning and grips you right into the story and keeps a tight hold of you. I thoroughly enjoyed Shattered and can’t wait to see what happens next in this amazing series.

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2)Bound by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bound is the 2nd book in The Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. The Torzial Affair series is a spin off from The Prestian Series by Via Mari. I would definitely recommend that you read book 1, Shattered, before reading Bound as the story continues straight on from where we are left hanging at the end of book 1.
This book will take you on even more of a roller coaster journey than Shattered. You will laugh and cry and feel every emotion possible when reading this. There are some particularly harrowing scenes which could be a possible trigger for some readers.
The threat on Jenny intensifies and to make matters worse, her rapist ex is murdered and she is the police’s number 1 suspect. Although she is innocent, the evidence that the police has makes her look guilty. Brian and his team are doing everything possible to keep her safe from the mafia and at the same time, prove her innocence.
This book is hotter than the first as Brian and Jenny’s relationship progresses and he adds a bit more BDSM to the bedroom.
Yet again Via Mari leaves you with a cliffhanger. It was one of those WTF! Moments. Thankfully I have book 3 already on my kindle. I’d have hated to have waited for the book to come out to see how the rest of this story unfolds.

Sanctuary (Captivity Series Book 2) by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Karyn Taylor

Sanctuary (Captivity Book 2)Sanctuary by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sanctuary: A Paranormal Romance Novella is the 2nd book in the Captivity series by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk. It starts right where book one ‘Captivity’ finished. I would definitely advise reading the first book before reading Sanctuary as a lot of the storyline would be difficult to follow if you didn’t.
In Sanctuary, Aiden and Lorelei, along with their group of fellow shifters, are travelling towards Sanctuary in the hope that the blood graft that is slowly killing Aiden can be cured. As there is still a bounty on both Aiden and Lorelei’s heads, this journey will be met with many obstacles and great danger.
I loved that in this 2nd book, we get to know the characters so much better. We learn so much more of their pasts and their aspirations for the future.
Although there is great danger throughout the book, I love that it does have some humour through the story. I particularly love some of the names that they call each other, including Horse Face, Fish Fins, Free Range and Birdie Boy.
I’m so looking forward to finding out how this story ends in the 3rd book Eternity (I’m already a few chapters in and it’s awesome so far!)

Undercover (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Undercover (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 2)Undercover by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Undercover is the 2nd book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This series is a spin off, and tells the stories of, the bodyguards from both The Prestian Series and The Torzial Affair. I seem to be doing things in the wrong order. As I enjoyed Undercover and the first book in this series, Wayward, I have now started reading the Torzial Affair series.
Via Mari certainly knows how to write an intricate storyline that grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let you go. I don’t even think you are let go once you finish the book as these amazing characters and their story are permanently stuck in your head.
In this book we are told the story of Matt (bodyguard to Jenny Torzial) and Marenah (the identical twin sister to Sasha who appears in previous books). I loved both of these characters and loved following their journey as they overcame many obstacles thrown in their way.
This is a steamy story with loads of drama and intrigue (well, what do you expect when the mafia are involved). Be prepared for the unexpected when reading this as the author has filled this book with twists and turns. Just when you think you have it all worked out then…BAM you are taken on a different path.
I absolutely adored this book and would definitely recommend it.

Siren’s Call: Cursed Seas by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Siren's Call: Cursed SeasSiren’s Call: Cursed Seas by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Siren’s Call: Cursed Seas is a fantastic fantasy novel by Amy McKinley. I was already a huge fan of Amy McKinley having read, and loved, the Gray Ghost series. I’ve only recently started to read the fantasy/paranormal genre and was eager to read something in this genre by an author I already liked.
Siren’s Call was fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Amy McKinley knows how to create a fantastic story that grips you from the very beginning, takes you on an amazing roller coaster journey, then spits you out at the end totally dazed by what she’s put you through. This book was no exception. She also knows how to write amazing characters. I loved both Nerissa and Zeer, their characters are very intriguing and so interesting to read. I’ve always said that one mark of a good author is by how much you hate the guys. Well, I can safely say that I hated Cete, Ares, Cyn and the Oracle with a passion.
This book has a little bit of everything that I love in a good book: great characters, romance, angst, mystery and a damn good storyline. I’d definitely recommend it to others.

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Arrangement Duet Box SetThe Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Arrangement Duet Box Set by Madison Quinn contains the 2 full novels ‘On His Terms’ and ‘On Her Terms’. I was already a fan of Madison Quinn having read, and loved, her 2 Dark Water Security books: Luke and Garrett. I had high hopes before reading this duet and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I absolutely loved this duet.
Billionaire Nicholas Parker has been burned by a previous girlfriend and does not want to get into another relationship. When his business becomes under threat due to his lack of a steady relationship he enters into an agreement with Kenzie Rose for her to play the part of his loving girlfriend. Kenzie’s previous relationship ended badly as her fiancé regularly abused her, on occasion leaving her close to death. The arrangement with Nicholas would be perfect for her as it would allow her to finish her degree and move out of the hell hole apartment she was staying in.
I adored both Kenzie and Nicholas. Both of them are so broken in different ways. The slow burning, simmering attraction between the 2 of them is so angst filled. You just can’t help rooting for this couple to give into the growing feelings they have for each other and have a HEA. Madison Quinn has a knack for writing amazing characters that you can relate to. Not just the main characters but also the secondary characters play a valuable role in adding to the great storyline.
If I could give this Duet more than 5 stars then I would do so. Amazing!!

Proper Impulse (Jaded Lily Book 4) by Zeia Jameson – Review by Karyn Taylor

Proper ImpulseProper Impulse by Zeia Jameson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Proper Impulse is the 4th book in the Jaded Lily series by Zeia Jameson. This book can be read as a stand-alone but as this is a great series I’d recommend that you read them all.
As much as I had loved the previous books in this series, I was a bit hesitant of reading this one as Milo, the hero in this book is mentioned in Proper Ink and I wasn’t sure if I’d like him. For the first part of this book I thought he was a bit of a prat. Thankfully he did redeem himself before the book was over.
I absolutely adored the interactions between Milo and Juniper. Milo, the police officer who does everything by the book, and Juniper who runs a shelter for homeless and disadvantaged people who will do anything, (even if it’s not totally legal) to provide for those at the shelter. Their first meeting is Milo arresting Juniper for taking clothes out of a charity collection bin and it’s hilarious.
Zeia Jameson has a knack for writing amazing characters. Milo and Juniper add to this amazing collection. I loved that we get a sneak peak at Padraig & Stella and Luca and Kerry from the previous books.
This book takes you on a lovely journey. A journey where Milo has to re-evaluate his life, his opinions & beliefs and Juniper is the one who guides him through that journey.
I have loved this series so far and really hope that there is more to come from it. It is one of those series that I will read over again
