Into the Light (Moon Harbor Series Book 3) by Kate McWilliams – Review by Karyn Taylor

Into the LightInto the Light by Kate McWilliams

I dived into this book, falling in love with the characters straight away, then realised that it’s not the first book in the series…oops. Thankfully, each book can be read as a standalone but now I want to read the stories of the 2 couples who came before, who have a large secondary role in this book.
I hadn’t read any of this author’s work before so wasn’t sure what to expect. What I got was a great brother’s best friend romance that was filled with danger and drama too. Just what I needed to read on a wet weekend in Glasgow. I got totally lost in Raf and Ellie’s story.
Raf has loved Ellie for years but she’s his best friend’s little sister – a no-go area. Added to the fact that he has a past that he’s ashamed of and things he’s not good enough for her. Meanwhile Ellie has loved Raf for years but assumes he just sees her like a little sister and not the grown-up woman that she is.
This is an angst filled read that becomes spicy when the couple realise that they can’t hold back the feelings they have for each other. I really didn’t want to put this book down.
100% recommend.

Mafia Elite Series Box Set Volume 2 by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Mafia Elite Box Set: Volume TwoMafia Elite Box Set: Volume Two by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This boxset contains the final 4 full length novels in the Mafia Elite Series. These are:
Savage Secrets
Ruthless Heir
Collateral Damage
Rivals

This is a fantastic boxset, each book being given a 5 star review by myself. This author is the queen of writing romantic suspense and I could lose myself in these books for hours and hours on end. I know that this boxset is one that I will read several times.

Set among the 5 mafia families in Chicago, we get the stories of the men who lead each family and the women they fall in love with, most of whom also come from among the 5 families.

The men in the mafia elite are serious alpha males who take no crap and their women who are just as stubborn and kick-ass as they are. Marco & Elena, Luc & Summer, Trey & Hailey and Nico and Mia are amazing couples, whose stories are filled with so much drama, intrigue and danger. Added to that is the amazing romance story of each couple and you get a boxset that has absolutely everything.

100% recommend this box set.

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl (My Cowboy Series Book 6) by Brooke May – Review by Karyn Taylor

My Bronc Riding CowgirlMy Bronc Riding Cowgirl by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a great contemporary romance from an author who writes great contemporary romance novels. I have read quite a few of this author’s book now and I have always really enjoyed them and this book was no different.
This is an enemies to lovers book set in the rodeo world in the USA. Our main characters are Tori and Cord, both of whom are the children of famous bronc rider friends. Entering their rookie season, things get a bit hot under the collar as they try to concentrate on the job at hand but can’t help but be distracted by one another.
I really enjoyed Tori and Cord’s story. I love how feisty Tori is and how she isn’t scared to enter a very male dominated world. Cord comes over as a bit cocky and arrogant but it’s all a front as he’s a sweet decent guy at heart.
The author does a great job of keeping the story flowing and keeping you engrossed in the story and want to keep turning the pages to see how Tori and Cord’s story ends.
Definitely recommend.

We Blend (Falling for the Rockstar’s Daughter Book 1) by Willa Drew – Review by Karyn Taylor

WE Blend (Falling for the Rockstar's Daughter Series #1)WE Blend by Willa Drew
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Falling For The Rockstar’s Daughter Series. Silly me was not aware that this story was going to continue. I had stupidly assumed that it was a standalone novel and now I can’t wait to read the next stage of Wil and El’s story. I don’t do patience very well. Can I blame the author for making me love this too much? Hell, no. I love this author.
Will and El’s story is one I fell in love with straight away. They are both amazing characters that are so relatable and utterly adorable. If you love a good, clean and very heartwarming romance then this book will be right up your street. Now, I love a good erotic romance too but sometimes a nice wholesome romance that gives you the warm and fuzzies inside is just what you need.
This story flowed really well and you are taken on a great adventure through the music industry and the joys (or not) of having famous parents.
I can’t believe that I’ll have to wait to read more of Wil and El but I’m sure this author will make it well worth the wait.

The Hunter (The Freemasons Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Hunter (The Freemasons, #2)The Hunter by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in a series which I’m truly loving right now. I jumped into this right after reading the first book in the series and I can say that I enjoyed this just as much, if not even more than the first one.
Set around 4 best friends who are all in authority positions in the Freemasons in Australia, each book can be read as a standalone. But, as I loved the first book I would recommend you read them all and in order so you don’t give yourself spoilers.
In this book we get the story of Dominic Cacciari, the top dog in the lodge, The Right Worshipful Master and Gemma Hughes, entertainment journalist. We are given a brief interlude to Dominic and Gemma in the first book which made me really eager to read their story and it certainly lived up to my expectations and more.
Dominic and Gemma’s story is an enemies-to-lovers story that is full of drama, intrigue and secrets. Lots of secrets. Will they both be willing to give up their secrets in order to make a life together?
This is a great book which I definitely recommend.

The Victor (The Freemasons Book 1) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Victor (The Freemasons #1)The Victor by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in what looks to be a cracking series. I’ve read several books by this author over the last couple of years but somehow missed this series. So glad I found it as I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is a really great second chance romance set in Australia. The series is set around 4 male friends who all have high positions in the Freemasons. In this book we get the story of Cole and his estranged wife Ava. The couple split after losing their baby soon after their marriage. Ava is asking for a divorce but Cole is determined to win her back and make a go of their marriage.
I really loved Cole and Ava’s story. It’s very angsty, which I love, as Ava is determined not to fall for Cole’s charms again. But that proves to be a much bigger struggle that she thought.
The story flows really well and keeps you gripped and entertained from start to finish. I enjoyed this so much and I already have book 2 on my kindle ready to lose myself in.

A Love Restrained by Becky Flade – Review by Karyn Taylor

A Love Restrained (Philly Heat series, #1)A Love Restrained by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I started reading this book I had a deja vu moment, thinking I had read the book before. What caused this was the main characters names – Jayson Donovan and Kylee Parker. I remember thinking of the Neighbours connection. When I looked I then realised that I have read the next book in this series, this book being the first.
Kylee and Jayson were secondary characters in the previous book that I read but in this one they are the main characters and I really loved reading their story.
This is a story filled with so much angst, something that I love in a book, even though it can be very exasperating and you want to bang their heads together.
One thing this book has that I loved is a major plot twist that’s thrown at you. I was gobsmacked when the author threw this curveball at me.
I adored both Kylee and Jayson as characters. Kylee is the straight and narrow cop who wants to put away the bad guys. The book opens with her catching Jayson, her crush from high school, dealing drugs. Not exactly what she’s looking for in a long term partner but she can’t help the pull that he still has on her.
I definitely recommend this book.

Master Romano (Masters of the Consulate Book 4) by Sylvia Black – Review by Karyn Taylor

Master RomanoMaster Romano by Sylvia Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the fantastic Masters Of The Consulate vampire romance series. I want to say it’s my favourite in the series so far but maybe that’s just because this one is so fresh. I know I loved the first three too but I read them one after the other several months ago, and maybe my old memory isn’t allowing me to remember well enough. But hey, I’ll go ahead and say this one is my favourite…so far!
Raven is a reluctant witch who just wants back to her ‘normal’ life and not be forced to attend a witch academy where she has the fact that vampires are the enemy drummed into, even more so by her aunt Devora, a very powerful witch. So why is she so drawn by Master Romano, a very powerful vampire, one of the masters of the consulate who her aunt hates with a passion. Vampires and Witches are not meant to fall in love. Heaven forbid! Or is that Hell forbid!
I adored Raven and Romano’s story and I absolutely loved both of them as characters. Raven is far from your typical witch and she’s extremely sassy. Romano is just a HOT alpha male who makes you tingle in all the right places. The sexual chemistry between them is explosive and you just know there will be fireworks when they finally give in to one another.
This is an amazing series that I’m loving so far and I can’t wait to read more.

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1) by Toni Denise – Review by Karyn Taylor

Jake (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)Jake by Toni Denise
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jake is the first book in the Billionaire Blind Dates Series. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and it certainly won’t be the last. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the others in this series.
This book takes blind dates to a whole new level. First you fill out a huge questionnaire on the app, then you get to meet your match in a blind date – at the blind date restaurant, totally in the dark! Yep, you share a meal with the person but you can’t actually see them.
Jake and his 4 billionaire friends decide that this is the way that each of them should try to find their significant other, each will pick dates for the others and it’s Jake’s turn to go first.
I really loved Jake and Lauren’s story. They already know each other as Lauren is the PA of one of the 5 guys – Cade. They have no idea of this though and totally hit it off.
It’s very much an opposites attract story. Jake is a billionaire who is tired of women who only want him for his money. Lauren is living paycheck to paycheck and is worried that Jake will think she’s after his money but it makes no difference to her at all. She’d still like him if he was penniless.
I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the 5 billionaires and can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the other 4 guys.

Tropical Date (Postscript Island Book 3) by R.S. Jonesee – Review by Karyn Taylor

Tropical Date (Postscript Island, #2)Tropical Date by R.S. Jonesee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great second chance, billionaire romance that I really, really enjoyed. I had not read any of this author’s work before, but after reading this book, I’ll be sure to read more in future as I was impressed by the storytelling from this author and how well the story flowed.
Weston left Postscript Island after a false pregnancy scare with his girlfriend Marissa. When he comes back years later, he’s determined to win her over and that means telling her the real reason he left all those years ago.
I really enjoyed Weston and Marissa’s story. Weston is determined to win her over but Marissa is determined to keep him at arms length even though she really wants to wrap her arms around him and not let him go again.
I really liked both Weston and Marissa as characters. They are very well written and you can relate to them. The books also boasts a great cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story. I really hope that we get to see a lot more from these characters in future books from this author.
Definitely recommend.

The Lonely Hearts of San Sity by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Lonely Hearts of San SityThe Lonely Hearts of San Sity by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a short BWWM, enemies to lovers romance novel. Like most novels I’ve read by this author it is short in length at only 138 pages. I felt that there was so much scope to make this a much longer book. In parts it felt rushed and I think the author has missed a great chance to have added much more ‘meat to the bones’ of the story.
I did enjoy Mitchel and Jules’ story. I really liked Mitchel’s character but have to admit that I found Jules very selfish and self centred at times and would have liked o give her a slap on the head to make her see how she was acting.
I feel that so much more could have been written about the TV show that Jules and her friend were in town to scout for. I would have liked to read more about that.
The story that is there is enjoyable to read. I just wish we had got more of it.

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark Book 2) by Deborah Garland – Review by Karyn Taylor

Hard Lover (Houston After Dark #2)Hard Lover by Deborah Garland
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the awesome second book in the Houston After Dark series. Although part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. I was not aware that this was the second book in a series when I read it and I certainly didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information needed to enjoy this book. And I have to say that I really did enjoy this book.
This book follows one of my favourite tropes, that of ‘brother’s best friend’. I love the angst that happens in these books and this book certainly follows that as Noah and Callie keep their relationship secret from Callie’s brother Grant.
This book is HOT with capital H, O and T. Noah is a Dominant with barbell piercings in a very intimate place which add to the sexiness of the sex scenes.
I really enjoyed reading Callie and Noah’s story. Callie is totally badass and takes no prisoners and is not afraid to fight for what she wants, And what she wants is Noah.
This is a great read, which I definitely recommend.

My Darling Rogue (A Wicked Rogues Romance Book 1) by April Moran – Review by Karyn Taylor

My Darling RogueMy Darling Rogue by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in a new series by the author. It’s also the first book that I have read by this author but I’m very sure it won’t be the last. Although I read a LOT of romance, I haven’t read a lot of historical romance but it’s now becoming a genre/trope that I’m loving more and more.
Gabriel Rose is the rumoured bastard son of a Marquess. Although technically a commoner, he lives amongst the rich and famous of the Ton due to being a close advisor of Sebastian, an Earl. Here he meets Lady Celia Buchanan, daughter of an Earl. Unable to resist the intense chemistry between themselves. Gabriel and Celia are rushed into marriage after being caught in a compromising position.
This story is HOT and steamy. The chemistry between Gabriel and Celia is off the charts. I absolutely loved reading their story. The story is filled with steamy sex scenes, drama and blackmail.
I was totally hooked on this story from the very beginning and the author kept me gripped and very entertained throughout. The story flows very well and the characters are well written and relatable. There is also a great cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story.
I definitely recommend this book. If you love a steamy historical romance then this book is for you.

I’m Not Your Difference (Fitz Series Book 4) by Theresa Sederholt – Review by Karyn Taylor

I'm Not Your Difference (Fitz, #4)I’m Not Your Difference by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the series but the first book I have read by this author. I’m unsure whether the book is intended to be able to be read as a standalone but I have to admit that in the beginning I felt as though I had to have read the previous books to get understand the dynamics of many of the characters. This didn’t stop me from really enjoying this book though. I’ll just have to find time to read the 3 books that came before this one.
In this book Fitz is working on the case of a serial killer who is killing gay men and making them look like suicide. This case comes a bit too close to home when his brother in law Andy becomes the target of the killer.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s full of drama, danger, intrigue as well as romance. I particularly loved Andy’s relationship with deaf daughter Stella as he tries to teach her about being different and accepting people for who they are.
The author has an excellent skill for character writing. I was so engaged with the characters and could really relate to their story.
Definitely recommend but would advise to read the others in the series first.

I Loved You Yesterday (Trading Heartbeats Trilogy Book 1) by Julie Navickas – Review by Karyn Taylor

I Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats TrilogyI Loved You Yesterday: Book One in the Trading Heartbeats Trilogy by Julie Navickas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I will definitely be reading more. In particular, the remaining books in this trilogy. It’s always a risk taking the plunge and trying a new author but I’d never have discovered any of my favourite authors if I hadn’t taken that initial plunge. This is one time that I’m glad I gave a new author to myself a try as I really enjoyed this book. The blurb had me very intrigued and the book lived up to my hopes.
Dr Josh Templeton has never forgotten his first love Mavis Benson who disappeared from his life with only a letter saying not to contact her. When they get in touch 10 years later we get a fantastic story of love and betrayal.
Josh I adored as a character. He’s loving and sweet and I’d love a Josh in my life. Mavis I loved most of the time but there were times I really wanted to kick her butt.
This book has the added bonus of a great cast of secondary characters who add so much to the story. I’m assuming we will see a lot of more of these in the 2 remaining books in the trilogy and I really look forward to reading them.

Thief (Popov Bratva Book 4) by Leslie Georgeson – Review by Karyn Taylor

Thief (Popov Bratva #4)Thief by Leslie Georgeson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Romantic Suspense is probably my favourite trope to read and this is a great example of a thrilling romantic suspense novel. This author was new to me but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to try a new author. I can certainly say that I will now be reading more of this author’s work. In particular, I want to read the other books in this series.
This is the 4th book in the Mafia romantic suspense series but each book can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information to enjoy this book but I’m now intrigued by the other couples who appear in this book and want to find out their stories.
In this book we get the story of Dominik Popov, car thief for the Bratva. He’s never had any issues when stealing a car until he tries to steal the beloved Audi R8 of country music sensation Leah Hart. Has he finally met his match?
I loved both Dominik and Leah as characters. It’s very much an opposites-attract story as well as a romantic suspense. The story is action packed from the very beginning and the author does a great job of keeping you gripped and entertained right up to the end. It’s very much a page-turner.
I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with this book.

Scandalously Yours (Titans of Manhattan Book 5) by Anise Storm – Review by Karyn Taylor

Scandalously Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #5)Scandalously Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I thought I’d be writing that this was the last book in this fantastic series but I’m so happy to now know that the author plans to bring out another book bringing all 5 couples from the series together. I was planning on saying that she had saved the best until last but you never know what the next book will bring. I can say that this has been my favourite…so far!.
This book is a brilliant example of a romantic suspense novel. As with all the other Titan books. It’s hot and steamy but this one had a thrilling storyline with Kris’ estranged wife which really had me gripped.
Kris and Alessia’s story really had me hooked from the very first chapter and did not let me go until the very end. I was totally engrossed in their story. I really loved both characters. The author has done ana amazing job in creating the Titan characters and the women they fall for and Kris and Alessia are very well written and I could have read about them for hours and hours.
This is a series that I will definitely read again and I can’t wait to read the book that brings all 5 couples together.

Fairly Royal (The Fair Series Book 4) by Grace Grahme – Review by Karyn Taylor

Fairly Royal (Fair, #4)Fairly Royal by Grace Grahme
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When I started reading this book I had no idea that it was the 4th book in a series. Thankfully, each book can be read as a standalone. Although I now want to go back and read and those that I have missed, particularly Robbie and Janet’s story. I certainly didn’t feel like that I was missing any important information that was necessary for the story.
I absolutely loved this story and I only have 1 little bad thing to say about the book. Although the characters speak a lot of Scottish words, I have to say that having lived in Glasgow for all 51 years of my life, Glaswegian’s do not say ‘ya Ken’. This is a very Scottish saying but not used in Glasgow. It’s very much used in the East coast. But this is only a very minor point. I loved reading the Scottish words used for the most part.
So getting away from 1 wee silly point, I absolutely loved Phillip and Anna’s story. I love a fake romance story, watching the couple try to fight their real feelings for each other. Phillip and Anna are both amazing characters that I fell in love with. Phillip is totally different from the character that he tries to portray himself as. He’s not the stiff upper class person that he comes across as. There’s so much more to him. Anna is just awesome. As Phillip described her several times – she’s a breath of fresh air. She certainly has none of the airs and graces that the girlfriend of an Earl should have. She’s so down to earth and says exactly what she thinks which makes for some very funny entertaining reading.
Do not let my 1 little moan put you off reading this story, it’s definitely worth the 5 stars I’ve given it.

Remember to Forget Me (Too Lost to Love Book 1) by Hazel Storm Review By Karyn Taylor

Remember to Forget Me (Too Lost To Love, #1)Remember to Forget Me by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the fantastic first book in a new series. If this book is anything to go by then this is a series that I’m going to read over again. I’ll definitely read this book again as I was totally engrossed in this story. I had only previously read 1 book by this author and this is something that I’ll need to remedy as I also gave that book 5 stars.
This is a second chance romance with a difference as Wesley has no memory of Addison due to a horrific beating that he was given, which caused memory loss. It has to be noted that there are scenes of violence which some readers may find difficult to read.
I adored Addison and Wesley’s story. I was gripped from the beginning. Even though it’s a bit of a slow burner to begin with, it was still totally invested in their story and did not want to put it down. How dare real life get in the way and make you stop reading.
I loved that this book is a bit longer than a lot of books I read as I got more chance to lose myself in this fantastic love story. The author has done a fantastic job in creating these characters and weaving a fantastic story for them.
Definitely recommend.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Book 7) by Toni Aleo – Review by Karyn Taylor

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Looking at the reviews before I read this book, it seemed that this is the story that so many people were waiting for. I was kind of worried that I may a bit lost by reading the 7th book in the series having not read any of the others but that was not the case. Although I can sense that there are other great stories that I now want to read, this book can be read as a standalone easily as the author fills any gaps there may have been.
I really need to read some of the other books by this author now as I absolutely loved Evan and Callie’s story. As someone who suffers badly with mental health issues I could relate to Evan so much. I just wanted to give that man a huge hug. The author does an amazing job of handling Evan’s mental health journey. I loved how she showed just how much the love and support of those around him, in particular Callie, allowed Evan to work through his issues.
This is so much more than a romance story, although I loved the romantic side of Evan, added to the fact that this is a very sexy story at times. Evan and Callie are amazing characters and I could have read about them for hours and hours.
Well worth the 5 stars!!

This Time Around by Jane Suen – Review by Karyn Taylor

This Time AroundThis Time Around by Jane Suen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really heartwarming sweet, second chance romance story. It was my first time reading this author’s work so I was unsure what to expect. I’m glad I chose to read this book because I really enjoyed it.
I would have liked the book to be longer as i felt it came to quite an abrupt end. There was so much more scope to add to the story and at only 150 pages it felt more like a novella.
In saying that I really did enjoy Katie and Chase’s story. Both are great characters and I could easily relate to them. I adored the relationship that Chase has with his nephew Timmy and I have to say that little Timmy stole my heart.
The story is well written and flows well with enough action to keep you entertained and gripped by the story. I really would have liked to have read more about Chase, Katie and Timmy.
Definitely recommend, especially if you want a quick read.

Rivals (Mafia Elite Book 7) by Amy McKinley – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rivals (Mafia Elite, #7)Rivals by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 7th, and final (sob sob) book in this amazing series that I’ve loved from beginning to end. For me, this is an author who can do no wrong. I’m sure I’ve given 5 stars to every single book of hers that I’ve read, And I have read a lot of them. This is yet another 5 star cracker that I didn’t want to put down.
This is an enemies to lovers, mafia romance that has absolutely everything you want in a mafia romance story. Lots of drama, danger and intrigue added to hot romance, it has it all.
Nico and Mia are fantastic characters. Nico is underboss of one of the Chicago five families, whereas Mia is the daughter of one of the bosses of the New York families. Let’s just say there is no love lost between both factions.
I loved that we are introduced to new characters who will become the main characters in a new series set among the New York mafia families. I can’t wait for more mafia romance from this amazing author.

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance Book 5) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Karyn Taylor

Let It Be Love (A Mustang Prairie Romance)Let It Be Love by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great contemporary romance set in a small town. Although part of a series, each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I hadn’t read any of the other books and didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information. I am intrigued by the other couples who are part of this book and would like to read more of them as each couple adds something to the dynamic of the group.
In this book we get the story of small-town Mayor Eric and his secret romance with pop superstar Kiki. I adored both of these characters and I loved reading their story. It takes you on a roller coaster journey, taking you through every emotion possible and I can say that I really loved the ride.
I do say that one mark of a great character writer for me is how much you dislike the bad guy in a book and I can safely say that I really really hated Louie. What a horrible, despicable man.
This is a really great story, which flows well and keeps you entertained and wanting to keep turning the pages. Definitely recommend.

Undeniable (Central Florida Stories Book 2) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Karyn Taylor

Undeniable (Central Florida Stories, #2)Undeniable by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in this great BDSM series. This was the book that has caught my eye but seeing that it was the second book in the series I decided to read the series in order. Each book can be read as a standalone but I chose to read I order as the main couple from book 1 appear in this book and the hero from this book Kurt appears in book one.
I loved book one and as soon as I was finished I jumped straight into this book. Having met Kurt in book 1, I was really intrigued to read his story. Maybe it wasn’t mentioned in the first book, or maybe I missed it but I assumed Kurt was much older when reading book one.
Kurt is a really amazing character to read about, I thoroughly enjoyed reading his story and see him get the HEA he truly deserved with Arely.
Arely had crushed on Kurt as a teenager and unknown to her the feeling was entirely mutual. When they meet 12 years later so much has changed. I loved reading their story. A expected with a BDSM story, the sex scenes are hot and steamy but this book is about so much more than the sex scenes.
A fantastic read. Definitely recommend.

Deception (Central Florida Stories Book 1) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Karyn Taylor

Deception (Central Florida Stories, #1)Deception by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in a BDSM series by an author that was new to me. It was actually the blurb of the 2nd book in the series that caught my eye, so I decided to read the books in order. They can be read as standalones but I know that the main characters from this book also appear in the second so for me the decision was made to read in the order they were written.
I’m really glad that I decided to read this book and not just read book 2 as I really loved Joe and Hunter’s story. At the beginning both characters come across as quite cold and calculating, but as you get to know the real characters as the story progesses, you really see their true qualities shine through. I grew to love both these characters and was really rooting for them to get the HEA they deserved.
Being a BDSM story, as you may imagine the sexy times are HOT. The author does a great job of having Dominant Joe bring out the true submissive in Hunter and it really made for some compelling reading.
100% recommend.

If you want a heartwarming romance that really tugs on the heartstrings then this is the book for you. It’s the 2nd book that I’ve read from this author and this one will also be getting 5 stars as I was totally lost in the story. It is the quintessential page-turner. The story is also based on some real life events. I’d really love to know exactly which parts of the story really happened.
Do you believe that your soul mate is out there? Is there someone that you are destined to be with? Have you had visions of this person and heard their voice? That’s what happened to Katrina. And what happens when fate steps in and you meet this person and it’s instant attraction on both sides? You really need to read this book to get the answers to these questions.
I adored Kat and TY’s story. I fell in love with both characters instantly and was swept along with their amazing story.

This is a really great standalone contemporary romance that had me hooked from the very beginning and refused to let me go until it spat me out at the end. I have read work by this author before but this has been by far my favourite.
It is so much more than the romance between billionaire Dylan Knight and struggling art curator Mia Harris. There is a suspenseful story of art theft that runs alongside the romance and that had me gripped as much as the romance itself.
The romance side of the story is a compelling read. It’s very much an opposites attract and the sparks fly as soon as Mia and Dylan set eyes on each other.
Mia and Dylan are very well written, relatable characters that I loved reading about. I could have read about this couple for hours and hours and not wanted to put the book down…and I did!
Definitely recommend.

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia – Review by Karyn Taylor

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a heart-warming contemporary romance by an author that was new to me. From reading the blurb it seemed like the type of book I normally enjoy reading, so I decided to give this author a chance. I’m glad I took the chance as I enjoyed this book and would definitely read more of this author’s work.
Paige Lister is mesmerised by the artwork of painter Mark Richards and decides to go visit him in Montana to convince him to produce work for the gallery she works at. What she wasn’t prepared for was to fall for the sexy, brooding artist and his lifestyle in Montana.
Mark Richards is determined that painting is just a hobby while he works on his ranch rescuing horses. He wasn’t prepared for the whirlwind that is Paige Lister.
I really enjoyed reading Paige and Mark’s story. It’s pretty much lust at first sight for both of them but how could they possibly make a relationship worth with the very different lives they both lead? This makes for a very interesting story that had me wanting to keep turning the page and reading more. The characters are very well written and the story flows well keeping you engaged throughout.
I’d definitely recommend this book.

Someone Exactly Like Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 1) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Karyn Taylor

Someone Exactly Like Me (Wounded Hearts, #1)Someone Exactly Like Me by Debbie Cromack

If you like a slow burn romance then this is the book for you. I had never read any of this author’s work but the blurb described a book that sounded just like the type I’d enjoy… and I did, very much.
When you’ve been having sordid fantasies about the hot actor in a new erotic film the last thing you imagine is meeting him at your photographer friend’s photoshoot and starting up a great friendship with him. That’s exactly what happens to Destiny when she visit’s her friend’s photo studio and meets new acting sensation Niccolo (Nicco).
I adored Destiny and Nicco’s story. It’s a real sloooow burn but so good. I love how they become such good friends before finally taking their relationship further. They learn so much about each other and so much about themselves as people.
The characters are very well written and are very relatable and I really enjoyed reading about them. The story flows very well and has enough action to keep the reader entertained and wanting to turn to the next page to see what happens next.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

Love is Worth Fighting for (The Meraki Series Book 3) by Effie Kammenou – Review by Karyn Taylor

Love is Worth Fighting for (Meraki, #3)Love is Worth Fighting for by Effie Kammenou
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If I had to choose one word to describe this book it would be ‘angsty’. If you are me, that’s a good thing. As much as I’d love to have smacked Loukas and Krystina in the head many times, you can’t beat a good angsty book. This is the third book in this great series and having read the first two, I was really looking forward to reading Loukas and Krystina’s story.
I had many emotions reading this book. I laughed, I cried, I was exasperated but mainly, I cried. Much of the story is set during the early days of the covid pandemic, a time when I lost my dad to covid, so as much as I loved this book, I did struggle through this part but that is nothing to do with the author’s great story and great writing. That’s totally on me.
I absolutely adored Loukas. So many times I wanted to give him a huge hug and tell him it would be alright. Krystina is the character that exasperated me but that’s what made it such a good read. The author has done an amazing job in creating these characters.
I also loved that we got to see more of the characters from previous books and see how their lives are progressing.
100% recommend this book.
