I was excited to see that Professor Valentine was getting a companion story, this time told from the perspective of Diego. I enjoyed the first book in this series and was hoping that seeing the other side of things wouls being that character connection I missed first them round. It was quite a short Book but it was nice to get that alternative point of view. I found it as easy to read as the previous boom and I definitely felt the chemistry more between the characters in this one. The emotions felt more real. I’m glad the author wrote this book as the two together are great to read.

This is a fun and easy reading historical mystery story with some great characters involved. I didn’t find the story to be that complex which meant it was great just for getting lost in for a few hours. It is a pretty quick story to read, nothing too heavy but still an interesting book.
I thought the main character and her father were a good combination. The dynamic worked. This is a good book that is worth a read.
