This book is a part of the Buddy the Corgi series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. This story is about Buddy and the cats that are a part of his adopted family. When it seems like there is a midnight bandit who keeps getting into the trash, Buddy tries to stay awake to catch the bandit. The first night doesn’t quite go as planned, and the second night Buddy gets caught in the middle of a mess that he didn’t make, but does get blamed for. When he finally catches the bandit, the bandit is more than happy to let Buddy take the blame, until he is convinced that the decision to do the right thing is the most important one. This is a great book for helping to teach children about how important it is to take responsibility for your choices. I would recommend this book for any parent or teacher of young children, or children’s librarian.

Such a beautiful book. A wonderful message with beautiful illustrations brings this message full circle. Every living thing is made unique, or special in their own way. Yes, some can be cruel about those differences, but they make you special and they are never something to be ashamed of. Inspiring first book in this series.

This is an adorable book for young children about all of the different kinds of places that people call home. The illustrations are well done and colorful, and the story is easy to understand and digest for youngsters. I would definitely recommend this for parents and teachers of preschoolers or early elementary age children, and possibly even those who are going through an adjustment at home, such as a divorce or moving to a new location. My children are a bit old for this one, but they still liked looking at it with me. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a way to speak to their child about how families and their homes can look and feel different, but still make them happy.

“Luca Magoo, Don’t Eat the Glue!”
Five stars, no doubt in my mind! This book was absolutely adorable! As an elementary teacher who spent a little time in the world of kindergarten this book had me cracking up. I loved the creativity and imagination and imagery in this book. I also really enjoyed how it flowed and rhymed throughout. It was catchy and hilarious. This would be a fantastic read for back to school week. Even though my elementary kids are on the older side, I know they will enjoy this book and find it hysterical. Great job Megan, I can’t wait to see what other books you come up with!

Super cute story about the places we call home. Big cities, small towns, different weathered places. Even places different animals call home. Bottom line is love begins at home, no matter what type of home you have. Pictures are cute as well.

If you have been reading this series, you know that Buddy has been adopted into his forever home. His new home has cats. One cat is a little bit of a troublemaker and gets Buddy into trouble. Both Buddy and Salem learn that telling lies will get you into more trouble and more often than not, could get others in trouble as well.
Another cute story with a good lesson attached. This is book 3 in a very cute series. The pictures are simple yet fitting for the story.

My seven year old son and I are loving the Buddy series! These books are so cute! We love Buddy and his siblings! This one talks about how being different is a GOOD thing. It makes us special and unique. I think that is something that every little kid needs to hear. Sometimes the adults too! I have always made it a point to teach my kids that “weird” is actually awesome!

This is a cute story about where our homes really are. I read this with my seven year old son and we both liked it. It had cute illustrations. The moral of the story is perfect. I also love when children’s books rhyme. It just makes them flow nicely and keeps the attention of kids.

City kids will not get what this book is all about but kids that grow up in the 4H community or in the county surrounded by farm animals and the like will get this book. Perseverance, patience, observation and overcoming obstacles are several of the lessons taught here. Cute illustrations.

The lessons that are taught in the Blue Corgi series will be forever lessons. This one is no exception to that. Learning right from wrong and that honesty is always the best. Kids will love the illustrations and even while young they will learn the ways of the precious Blue Corgi.

This beautiful story flows beautifully with a rhyming pattern that is inclusive without sounding forced. A great read aloud for any early childhood environment as an introduction to diversity or even just for fun!

Well this is a very adorable story to kick off a sweet series. We meet Buddy a Corgi who realizes as he get a bit older, that he doesn’t look like the other pups. Buddy struggles with accepting his differences, but he has a supportive mom who does everything to show him that being different is ok. This is a wonderful way to teach children different lessons in life, but without feeling preachy or complicated. I look forward to seeing what else will happen to Buddy!

This is the second book in this adorable series and it did not disappoint. We get to see Buddy and his siblings placed for adoption. While all of his siblings have been adopted, Buddy has not been and doesn’t understand why. The story has a great message for youth reading the story that sometimes you just have to be patient and trust that you will get what you deserve. Buddy continues to be a very sweet corgi and a great way to teach children in a way that is both fun and engaging.

I’ve read other books in this series too my grandchildren and this new one didn’t disappoint. The illustrations were detailed and colorful. The characters in this book learned about the responsibility of baking and cleaning up. I am planning on making my dogs treats from the recipes included in this book!

Another adorable take from the author about Buddy! I think the author has done a great job of creating lessons for young children to learn using a puppy and his friends. This story revolves around Buddy being falsely accused of making messes in the house. He does discover who the culprit is, but he doesn’t have want to be a tattletale. Buddy learns that making the right choice is important, as is being honest. I think its another great story that I would recommend to parents of young children.

This book has fantastic illustrations and a wonderful tale about a Corgi who is still waiting to be adopted after his siblings have already been adopted. Really young kids may not understand it all in the first couple readings but if they are read this book often enough then they will learn and understand about patience.

In this story Buddy is different than his siblings because he’s blue and they are tan. He thought nothing of it until the time came for adoption. He became sad and feared he’d never be adopted. Finally a family made a long trip to get him and he had everything he needed. As the title says some things take time!

You Are Special is a book in the series Buddy the Blue Corgi. It is a story about a puppy who looks different from his siblings. He is the only blue pup in his litter, and is worried that makes him strange. His mother is so sweet, turning the tables and making him understand that being different is special, not strange. We all have differences, and that is something to embrace, not stress over. The story teaches a good lesson to our younger readers. While it does have a bible passage tie in at the end, if you are not religious, you could skip that page and enjoy the book just the same. The illustrations are adorable, and my son and I liked seeing the photograph of the real Buddy at the end. We look forward to reading the rest of Buddy’s books.

Decisions Matter is the third book in the Buddy the Blue Corgi Series. Buddy returns at his new home, with new siblings, Salem and Donut. There is a mystery afoot as someone is getting into the trash, but no one can figure out who it is! A series of mishaps places Buddy in the line of fire and his new owners think he is the trash culprit. When Buddy finally catches the real offender, he stays quiet. The lessons in this book center around not lying, and to stick up for yourself. As a preschool teacher, I could see myself using all three of the books in this series as social-emotional teaching tools. They can also be used with older children. My 10 year old daughter thought they were cute!

Good Things Take Time is the second book in the Buddy the Blue Corgi Series. This book again finds Buddy in a tough situation, beginning the process of getting adopted. Buddy’s brothers and sisters are all getting adopted, yet Buddy still waits. He finds himself the last puppy left, but finally gets adopted. This book discusses the importance of having patience and knowing that good things are coming. Another cute Bible verse connects it all together at the end.

You Are Special is a children’s book by Suzanna Lynn. It is the first book in the Buddy the Blue Corgi Series. The book follows a brand new puppy navigating the big world and wondering why he looks so different from all the animals around him, even his own siblings. Buddy is made fun of for being “strange” but his mom tells him that he’s not strange, only unique, and that it’s not a bad thing. This colorfully illustrated children’s story explores the importance of being kind to others, but also knowing the things that make you special. The added bonus Bible verse at the end was a cute touch.

This is such a beautifully written book about the importance of patience!! Buddy is seeing his brothers and sisters going away from the farm. People come and look at them everyday. Momma explains that it’s time for them to go to their forever homes. One day, Buddy looks around and he’s the only pup left in his litter. His mom very lovingly explains that his time hasn’t come yet.
The illustrations are very colorful and well done! The story does come from a Biblical basis and there is one Bible verse quoted within at the end. This is a great book for any library and I highly recommend it, especially if you know someone struggling with patience.

I recently read A Pig and a Poke with my newly 8 year old daughter. She enjoyed the illustrations and read the book alongside me. It was a fun, short read with several lessons woven in the storyline. While it took a minute to explain what pig wrestling was all about, she really loved this book and even chuckled a few times!

Buddy and his siblings notice some strangers coming to the farm and looking at them. His mom explains it is time for them to be adopted to a new family. Buddy anxiously waits for his new family after being overlooked.
This was another wonderful story in this series. I like the way the writer has the emotions for Buddy to be relatable for children. You are engaged from the beginning, a really delightful series.

I read this book with my two sons – D (age 6) and S (age 2.5). This book takes a look at the frequent thought of “I wonder what would happen if I did ___” that every child has (and maybe some adults too ha!).

D (age 6) – ”He was thinking about what would happen if he ate the glue and it was all silly.”
S (age 2.5) – “The glue is sticky and yucky!”

I read this book with my two sons – D (age 6) and S (age 2.5). They were super excited to try out some of the recipes in this book. We made Plush’s Fruity Yogurt Treats and Mercy’s Frozen Peanut Butter Yogurt Treats.

D (age 6) – “The puppy dogs were sitting at the gate waiting for their people to make them some yummy treats.”
S (age 2.5) – “Our puppy dog likes treats too!”
We gave this book 5 out of 5 stars because both of my boys and our puppy dog loved the treats that resulted after reading this book!

Was a joy to share this story with the grands! They actually sat still and listened and enjoyed the pictures. Love that the author moves the story along quickly, as kids lose interest fast but, not this time! Love how the author teaches something along the way in the telling of the story, right and wrong choices was the lesson in this one. Will be looking for more stories from this author.

Buddy is settled into his new home, and he even has new family members, two cats. When the trash keeps getting knocked over at night, Buddy has to make the decision whether to tell the truth or get blamed. Buddy the Blue Corgi books help teach life lessons to children; very cute stories.
