Luca Magoo’s imagination runs wild when he asks himself “what would really happen if I tasted some of the glue?” this story was funny and engaging with silly ideas and great pictures. Would recommend this book for any kid or classroom

It’s art day and the teacher lets the kids use their imagination to create whatever they please. Luca gets the glue and then wonders what would happen if he ate the glue. Definitely shows the creativity of young minds and what kinds of things their imagination can come up with. Such a great easy read with excellent rhyming words and illustrations. Definitely a book to read to my littles before bed.
A Pig and A Poke by Tricia Gardella

This book was an instant hit in our household when we read it. The kids loved the idea of a pig wrestling competition, and the book spawned a whole conversation about what they would each do to catch a pig. They thought the whole thing was so entertaining and they were cheering for Angela the whole way through it.
The book does a great job at teaching perseverance and how to stand up for yourself. It shows kids that it isn’t always those who shout the loudest who become the victor. I loved the messaging throughout this book and that, combined with how much my kids loved the book in general, made this one of my favourite reads so far this year. This is a book I would highly recommend.

This was another good installment by this author. The illustrations were engaging for the younger readers (or listeners if doing it as a read aloud). The message is very important as patience is a difficult concept for younger minds to understand. This is also a nice refresher for older minds, too! I would recommend this in a classroom environment as a teachable resource.

Buddy is fitting in with his new family and his friendly cat friends. The only hitch in his new life is a mysterious visitor at night getting into the garbage. His family thinks it is him, Buddy comes up with a plan though to catch the culprit but not everything is as it seems.
I thought this was a wonderful story and I think children can learn something with this one. In a time where we often have knee jerk reactions on who, what, when, where, and why it makes you take pause and look at the whole picture. Buddy stories are quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

We love reading about the different life journeys buddy goes on, always very interesting to read about. This book is not only entertaining but also has great life lessons. The story effectively conveys the important message that patience is key to achieving our goals. Through Buddy’s adventures, children are encouraged to embrace the process of waiting for the perfect moment for you. Im was so happy he found his forever home sooo adorable.Looking forward to reading more 🥰

Good Things Take Time is part of the Buddy the Blue Corgi series. My son and I really enjoy these books. The puppy is adorable and his cat brothers are too. Buddy tells us a little about his history growing up on a farm before being adopted. We see several times Buddy not being picked and how sad he gets. There is even a page with his big ol puppy dog eyes! But Momma says it’s just not his time, and the book had a happily ever after.

Decisions Matter is a cute children’s book with a lesson to be learned. The characters and illustrations are so adorable. The struggle surrounding being a “tattletale” is tough for kids of all ages. I love the example presented in this story and how to solve it. The quote at the end is a good lesson, and I was happy the author included some non-bible quotes.

This is the second book I have read to my granddaughter about Buddy the corgi. This little book talks about being adopted and having patience for your time. Such a great message. The illustrations and colors in this book are as fantastic as the 1st book. We can’t wait to read more of these books!
Buddy is a blue corgi who is different because he is blue. He gets upset about being different but is taught by his mother that it’s ok to be different. It is such a great lesson for little ones! Although this book is about Buddy, the lessons can and should be learned by everyone. The illustrations are fantastic. The colors are bright and bold and very eye-catching.

This is a sweet story that extols the virtue of patience. This is the story of how the title character got his forever family. I like this series of books because I have a senior dog named Buddy. Buddy is ten years old, and recently became a part of my family. I like to imagine that he has had adventures similar to the title character.

This book is such a lovely way to teach kids that “home” does not mean the same thing to everyone, and each one looks different. This is the kind of thing my daughter knows, but probably didn’t have much awareness of and I liked the fact that this book allowed for that discussion to occur naturally.
The illustrations really helped to bring this book to life. They are what really got both my kids interested in the story and kept them invested the whole way through. We have read a few books by this author now but I think, overall, this is one of our favourites. This is a fantastic book that I would highly recommend for young children.

I grabbed this because the title and the cute cover images drew my interest. Sadly upon opening I felt we were already mid story and I was unsure what was going on. I flipped back and forth thinking I missed the beginning but nope. So I was not a fan of that. The story being told is about being picked on and the aggression towards someone else and seems okay as well.
On the other hand, the images are adorable all throughout. The expressions on the characters faces are a nice addition. That portion was well done.

Definitely a 5 star read for the kiddos. They loved it. Funny, sticky things can happen by eating the glue and Luca thinks about all the things that will happen if he does. Cute rhymes that the kiddos giggled about while I read it.

Having read a couple of books by this author and loving them, picking this one up was a no brainer. My kiddos and I were particularly excited to see Buddy the Blue Corgi as we have a “different” blue merle corgi of our own! It felt like this book was made just for us, so we dove in straight away.
Buddy learns he is different than the rest of his family and gets upset. Who wants to feel left out? Fortunately, Buddy’s mom helps him understand the beauty of being unique. The lessons taught here are wonderful, and the illustrations are beautiful! I’m excited to continue this series with my kids to see what new conversations it inspires in our home. I highly recommend adding this book to your collection – whether at home, in a school, or at a daycare!

We read this book tonight before bed and we all enjoyed reading it. The book is both engaging and educational, making it an excellent choice for early readers and families. The illustrations are colorful, engaging, helping children visualize the different settings and experiences of the words described. It introduces the notion that home can mean different things to different people, encouraging empathy and understanding because people enjoy different settings at home . The book’s descriptive text and fun font make reading each page enjoyable. Can’t wait for more from author Kim Ann.

What a sweet story and a great reminder! I always love reading children’s books and seeing what a wonderful story line but such important messages for young minds to understand and grasp. I also love how developmentally appropriate the story is and making it relatable for them to understand. Children should strongly grasp these concepts early on as there is so much in this quickly advancing world they will eventually learn. In the end, the author relates the concept back to a biblical verse, which solidifies the message. We all need to be reminded of how special we are no matter what we look like or how we look in comparison to others around us. Our differences and unique traits make us who we are and we are specially made in our own ways!

Angela wants the pig, but so do other children. Including Bruce, he is a bully and is mean to Angela. However Angela is determined to get and win that little piggy. Will she catch the pig that has slipped through others hands? Or will Bruce scare her away and take the pig from her? This is such a cute story! The author enjoys writing children’s books and this is just an example of her talent. The story is easy to follow and the pictures do a great job as well. I recommend this story for all children and parents.

Cute book, sweet story. The artwork is beautiful. I love where Luca’s mind goes and what he thinks could happen if he were to eat even just a drop of glue. He would stick to everything, and so he decides eating glue would not be the best idea. Very imaginative book for kids.

The Places We Call Home was written by Kim Ann and illustrated by Nejla Shojaie. It’s a lovely lillte book to help kids understand home isn’t just a place but a feeling. The illustrations are beautiful and capture the words. The words are fun to read as they rhyme. Enjoy this little treasure!

It shows kids that waiting and having patience isn’t a bad thing, all good things come when it’s time and to be happy for others when their good things come. I love how this story is about a real pup and gives some info on him. There is a part on the last page that is a passage from the bible, and while it is about what the story is trying to teach the child if you are not religious (or a different religion) this book might not be for you.

Andrew’s Armor is a cute little book that teaches about the Armor of God. The illustrations are fantastic, making the book very colorful and eye-catching.
Andrew has had a chest for his toys his whole life. As he grows, the toys change, and he learns some valuable, wholesome lessons through little notes left for him. This is a great little book for young boys.

This, however is no ordinary baking day, it’s a day for baking dog treats and there are a lot to choose from, but will Porter and Midge like them and how do you use treats with dogs, how many is too many?
This is a great way to involve children in learning about pet care and kitchen safety all in one go, especially with the recipes included, this is a great book for everyone.

You Are Special is a great book to read with the kiddos it revolves around themes of self-worth and individuality, aimed at encouraging children to recognize their own unique value, self-esteem and self-acceptance. Which I think is super important for everyone to have, not just littles. The illustrations are colorful and inviting, enhancing the book’s appeal and helping to convey the story’s positive message effectively. We look forward to reading more of this author and more adventures from Buddy 🥰

This was a really cute book. A big hit with my kids! There are so many different places that us as humans and animals can call home. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the big wide open or someplace cramped. Home is where you feel love and comfort.

Vibrant illustrations help this extremely entertaining story to life. Angela shows determination, perseverance, patience and overcoming bullies in this slippery match to catch a pig. Could you catch a pig? Also, side note LOVE how the pig was very similar looking to Pua from Moana. I love piggies.

Aww poor little Buddy. This one has a very important lesson, HONESTY. All too often others take the blame for things because no one likes to get in trouble but letting others take it when they are innocent is so much worse. I have always told my two boys; Honesty is the best policy.
