5 out of 5 stars

I have read every single book in this series a few times. I loved seeing the crew and what they have been up to and what trouble they are causing. I have always though that Gavin was my Favorite but nope Connor F###ing Quinn is my favorite. I loved seeing how Ms. Cosio has shown how the characters have grown and they still go through everyday drama. We have watched these guys grow from boys to men and their families grow. Now we get to see what the younger generation and if they too have musical talent like their famous fathers.
This story is about a journey for two lost souls. Connor has been feeling the blues for a while now and Donal Martins eldest son has been making a name for himself but not in a good way. Connor is turning 40 and felicity throws him a surprise party. At this party Connor and Donal are talking and Connor realizes that all their kids are living the privileged life even though Donal has lived the ridicule and scrutiny. So, Connor suggests a road trip what goes on, on the road trip is totally different than Donal is used to and not just that Connor is not acting himself.
I am going to end this review like this because you really need to read the story to find out what happens and what their Journey has entailed and where they go from there,

It’s never too late to discover yourself.

Connor is in a plato at the moment with life events catching up with him, turning 40 and losing his father he has kind of lost his purpose in life. Although his wife understands there is just no real drive anymore for his career until he takes his godson under his wing and they go on a road trip of discovery.

Dolan has been a part of the rock world ever since he was born, having everything handed to him, he does not seem to have the drive to make his band successful. His relationship with his father is rocky, so when his godfather and idol decides to go with him on a road trip to meet a girl he met online, they both discover things they didn’t know that they need to find within themselves.

This is the first story I have read within the Rogue series and I have to say although I followed the story and characters I would recommend reading the series from the beginning, I have missed the growth of these characters through each book and would love to go back to read them in the future to understand these complex characters.

Although I had not had the chance to meet them before this did not deter from the well developed story that was woven in the book, the relationship between the two main characters was heartwarming and believable. I loved the self discovery moments within the story as you are never too old to find yourself especially after tragedy. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves to read a great book and story.

I struggled to write this review. In one way it’s great to see all these guys again. I love seeing the camaraderie between all these characters. It’s cool that it’s still the same even though they are now older. But I feel it’s kinda sad that Conor and Felicity have already been through so so much and now…they are struggling again. I hate that! I know “it’s life and all” but if you have read these guys previous stories…they don’t deserve this. Even though Conor is spending time and kind of teaching Donal on their trip…it is just sad. I would think it could have been told without Conor trying to find the excitement in his life…again.

This story is told from varying point of views. We get to see most of the cast members tell a little bit from their side. But it mostly focuses on Donal, Conor and Felicity.

It is well written and I do like the vibe of the story near the end. Donals growth as a writer/ singer as I’m thinking we are being set up for second generation stories. I do like this series I just thought enough is enough with these poor characters. My heart can’t take anymore.

I am so upset, This is book 9 and I’ve only read book 4 before this. I swore I’d read them all before the next came out and I didn’t yet…This series is going at the top of my list to get read…I love love love these characters, its weird that after only reading 2 of the series I still am able to feel a connection to all of them, this for me is a sign of an awesome storyteller. I truly though need to have the complete history of this cast of characters. I feel such loss when reading things I should know about and don’t. Will have this completed by the end of this year.

I have a serious girl crush on Felicity, she is everything I know I could never be. The connection between her and Conor is out of this world beautiful. I could never see myself handling things the way she did in this book. My heart literally broke for Conor because you could almost feel his pain and confusion through the words written.

The journey this story took me on was like no other, and I enjoyed every single second of it from the places to the experiences, the laugh out loud moments and the deep conversations. Realizing what life really means for each of them. Finding what they each were missing and wondering the whole time, who is really helping who here. I love that this author made this a new generation / old generation coming together to teach each other very valuable life lessons. I also love that we get so many different POV’s throughout…I remember that being a favorite of mine in Book 4. I also loved the emotions that were brought about in this book.

I can’t recommend this book enough, I do however recommend starting at the beginning, don’t do what I’ve done, these characters are so tightly woven together you will want so much more as I do!

Can not wait for more and will absolutely be ready when the next one comes along 🙂

LOVED IT!!!

Rock Star on the Verge is the ninth book in the Rogue Series. I have not read the previous books, but picked up based on the reviews that it could be a standalone read. I absolutely loved this book. The story is about two people of different ages who are facing challenges of their own. They decide to go on a road trip together across Europe and it so happens that this journey was more about finding themselves. I had a disadvantage of not knowing about the background of the characters, but I had a fabulous time reading this book. It has the right elements of emotions and entertainment mixed in it. A good read.

What a great story and addition to this series. I am not a big multiple pov book but this author is able to seamlessly do this and with this story its so well done and needed that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I felt like I was catching up with old and new friends and I love that feeling. When you can just immerse yourself back into a world that feels all your own and that you just belong.
The biggest thing I took away from this story is that its not where you’re going, its the journey and path you take to get their.
Must read!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue #9) by Lara Ward Cosio was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning, love me some rock star reads and this one didn’t disappoint.

This is Conor’s story. He just had a big birthday and is dealing with the loss of his father. When the band starts discussing a new album he’s not quite sure if he’s ready for that yet.
He ends up going on a road trip with his godson Donal, who was also having some life issues himself. The relationship that these two build on their journey really tugs at your heart strings.

Will Conor and Donal find what they are looking for during their journey?

Overall this was a great read about finding yourself again. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. I would love to see more from the characters. And I can’t wait to see what direction the author goes now. It can be read as a stand alone but suggest reading from the beginning. 1-click and get started today on this great read.

I read a lot of books by this author, and have gotten emotionally involved with these stories and series, and this one is no different, getting to see previous characters from the other books in this read was a great thing. This book once again connects you to characters that are real, and make you feel as though you are there alongside them. This author creates such brilliant reads that connects you in every way to their story. This read is entertaining, emotional, and really touches you! I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This is the ninth book of the amazing Rogue series. I absolutely love the rockstar romance but this author exceeded all my expectations on bringing these guys back. You can’t help but to fall in love with these guys all over again. This book could be read as a stand-alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I didn’t stop until the end.

Donal Whelan is the son of a famous rockstar Martin from the band Rogue. He has always been in the spotlight ever since he was a baby. Donal now has his own thing. He is a big star on his own Instagram page. Donal finds himself waking up to his cool godfather telling him they are going on a road trip. He is excited but is this trip going to be all about his godfather or is there another reason behind it? Will Donal find his own way or will he always be known as Martin’s sheltered kid?

Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio is the 9th book in the Rogue series. This book can be read as a standalone book and is a fantastic addition to the series. These characters all feel so familiar now that picking up a new one of these books is so easy. It takes absolutely no thinking about to become a part of their story once again.
I love the whole coming of age theme that ran through this book, especially considering it was done from two different types of people – one of whom was “coming of age” in a completely different want to what you would usually think of. I thought the journey that both Conor and Donal go on was a powerful one that you couldn’t help but connect with.
This author always does such a great job of creating lasting and in depth stories and this book is just another example of that. From the moment I picked it up I enjoyed it and it was one of those books that I had to finish all in one go. A brilliant book and an amazing series.

I have been such a fan of the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio from the very beginning, and this one just took first place as my favorite. Rock Star on the Verge is such a beautiful and well written story with so much emotion and deep heartfelt scenes that you can’t hardly put it down from page one until the very end.

I was so ready for Conor Quinn’s story after meeting him in an early installment in the series and so this was one I was connected to before I even picked up the book. This is truly a journey you will take, a road trip to beautiful places, as Conor travels on motorcycle with the Rogue groups bassist. Together they help Conor find his love and his story that he wants to tell with his music. The added layer of romance with Conor’s wife was a sweet and refreshing spin on the romance factor. I really enjoyed this book from beginning to end and I am so excited to see what we will get next from Lara Ward Cosio!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio is a coming of age story but not just for the young character Donal but for the older character Conor who is turning the big 40. It is a story where we can all relate and think about a variety of topics such as what comes next, where we are in our lives and then there is the touchy subject of depression. It is a story where family lean and learn from each other and bonds formed. It is well written and definitely a journey in more ways than one.

Rockstar on the Verge is the ninth book in the Rogue Series by Lara Ward Cosio. I would class this is a ’second-generation’ story as it not only involves characters we have met and loved in previous “Rogue” series books, but now we get to meet/follow one of the “Rogue” kids- Donel Whelan- son of Martin Wheelan (from ‘Finding Rhythm’ Book #4) and nephew of Connor Quinn (from ‘Playing At Love’ Book #2 and ‘Felicity Found’ Book #6).
This is a superb coming of age, Rockstar adventure- a journey of discovery on a road trip through Europe, with emotion and some drama. Ms. Ward Cosio’s attention to detail, and masterful character development gave this story a real heart and soul- and made for a wonderful read.
I love this series, so I was quite excited to get my hands on this latest instalment. To be honest, though, I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy it as much as the previous books, as I really didn’t know how I felt about a second generation story- could Donel live up to the older generation- the Rogues. But I needn’t have worried as Ms. Ward Cosio quickly drew me into her story and soon had me investing in everything that was going on.
The fact that the story is told from multiple perspectives, characters we have followed in the past, as well as Donel- really gave this story extra dimension and depth. I am impressed by Ms. Ward Cosio’s ability to write complex, realistic and believable characters and giving her stories a real emotional factor. She also doesn’t shy away from sensitive topics- and doesn’t try to gloss over any of the grittier details.
A worthy addition to the series!
I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Ward Cosio has in store for us next!

Thank you, Lara Ward Cosio!

I was so excited to see a new release from this author and addition to this fantastic series, I have loved every single book, the whole series has been an emotional rollercoaster and I love the second generation coming through now with their own stories.
I loved this book, reading about Conor again was just amazing – I loved him from the start and still do now and reading about him alongside Donal and their journey was brilliant. I was hooked from beginning to end; Lara Ward Cosio puts so much into her writing, the detail, and the explanations everything. I loved the connection that Conor and Donal had both at a junction in their lives – it was great to see them coming together to help each other out.
I am gutted that this this final book in the series but all good things must come to an end and I think she has definitely outdone herself with this conclusion. I honestly recommend this story and series so much – I have loved it from beginning to end!

I loved reading the book Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio. Once I read the last page all I could say is “WoW!” It is a story that pulls you in from the beginning and then I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Conor Quinn as well as the son of Martin Whelan. The journey that they take could easily be a disaster. What happens on the journey? Read this book to find. This is a story that finds two souls on a journey that is an emotional one. While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly suggest that the series be read in order. The characters are brought forward from one book to the next and I loved that I got to find out how their lives have progressed. I have loved this series since the very first book and highly recommend it. The author has an amazing way of making the storyline and the characters come alive. This book has times that will touch your heart and others that make you smile. Don’t miss out on this awesome story.

You will have to read this story to see what happens when he goes on a motorbike road trip with his uncle Conor. It could just be an adventure they will not soon forget. Strong characters that make the story easy to read and entertaining. They made the story pop. I highly recommend this book and this author.

“Think about it. But think fast. This is the chance of a lifetime. Let’s go chase an adventure together.”

Growing up as the son of notorious rock star Martin Whelan, I’ve enjoyed both the perks and the ridicule that come with his fame. Now, I’ve got my own bit of Instagram-ready celebrity, including some harmless pranks and a starring role in the local Dublin club scene.

When, on the eve of my eighteenth birthday, my guitar god uncle Conor Quinn suggests I go on a motorbike road trip through Europe to shake up what he calls my “sheltered” existence, I tell him I’ll go if you go.

I never thought he’d take me up on it.

But, he’s got it stuck in his head that if I get some “real life” experience, I might just be able to jump-start my own musical ambitions.

Only thing is, he’s not exactly his usual cool and controlled self. See, in the middle of his surprise fortieth birthday party, he gave his band mates of twenty years some shocking news no one was ready for, least of all me.

With that revelation, it seems this road trip could be a disaster before we’ve even started.

Or … it could be the adventure of a lifetime.

Rock Star on the Verge is a coming of age, road trip through Europe, finding your inner rock star book!

Hula Girl by Laura Ward Cosio is a wonderful stand-alone novel. The authors writing was flawless. She beautifully created a story with a great punch line, excellent character descriptions and many heart touching moments. Ava is a lawyer and has been busting her hinny off for the last 6 years to get herself where she is. Her boss forces her hand at taking a vacation in Hawaii. While on her vacation, taking a trip to the store, she is forced down a side road to avoid smashing a wayward chicken in the middle of the road. With no turn around point, she follows the road to the end, where it leads her to Ford. What ensues is just a pure blissful, steamy, vacation fling. After Ava’s vacation is over and she returns home, she buries herself in her work once again… only to run into her surfer boy in her hometown at a prestigious law firm event. Feelings are shared and explored, hurt and hidden. The chemistry between these two is way more than what a small vacation fling allows… but they live in two different states so how will they ever make it work? This book was excellent and I am glad I stumbled upon it. I laughed a lot, teared up in a few places, and felt my heart swoon at all the charm. You’ll definitely want to add this to your reading list.

Ava is a hard-working lawyer forced to take a vacation when one of the partners in the law firm she works at determines that she needs a break away from the office to clear her head after a recent incident during a deposition. To most people, a week on the island of Maui would be exciting and relaxing. After 3 days of trying to relax, unplug, and enjoy the beautiful island, Ava finds herself ready to get back to work. What starts out as a trek to find a laptop so she can check her emails sets into motion a series of events that will change Ava’s world forever.

Ford enjoys his morning surfing, teaching music to children on the island, and sipping on some nice tequila in the evenings. Finding Ava on the side of the road as she searches for cell service so she can navigate herself to the nearest electronics store is not usually part of his day. After some harmless flirting, Ava and Ford embark on a vacation romance that is super hot. Agreeing not to talk about their real lives, Hula Girl and Surfer Boy enjoy each other’s company in the bedroom and on the town until Ava must return back to Los Angeles. However, what happens in Hawaii doesn’t necessarily stay in Hawaii.

What happens when they see each other again and their real lives are more intertwined than ever? Ford is required to return to Los Angeles to wrap up business with his father and crosses paths with Ava. This chance meeting leads to a story of lies, love, and heartbreak that I found myself fully immersed in. Now Ford is the one on the timeline as he tries to prove to Ava that what they had in Hawaii is real while Ava is set on believing she can’t have love and the career she has worked so hard for. I found myself rooting for them along the way, hoping they would find their happy ending. This story was a wonderful reminder that sometimes the biggest obstacles to happiness is our own mind. A great read by an author that is new-to-me but one I will definitely be checking out in the future.

What about the heartbreak….yup that was the worst feeling. The love….yes that was the best!

This was such a great book! Ava Ruiz is a perfectionist. She is an attorney who regularly works 16 hour days 6 days a week. She has worked hard to get where she is and constantly has to prove herself in a world where women are generally at a disadvantage. She makes one little mistake at work and is forced into a (much needed but not wanted) vacation. She is in Maui going stir crazy wanting to check on things at work and decides to drive into town to pick up a laptop. On the way a crazy stray chicken runs her off the road. That’s when she meets the hot as hell beach bum Ford. Ava forgets all about work and decides to take Ford up on his invitation to meet up later that day. And so the vacation fling begins!

What happens in Maui stays in Maui…until it doesn’t! While you will fall in love with Ava and Ford while they are in Maui, just wait until you get to the twists and turns that have them face to face again in the real world! This is an emotionally charged, super fun, super hot read that will make you jealous as can be! I definitely found a new book boyfriend in Ford! I recommend this 5-star read! It’s one you’ll want to read over and over again!

“My gorgeous stranger soon mounts his board and rides a glassine wave with ease, though. He navigates the rocky shoreline as if by instinct, dropping off the board before he gets too close to danger. I spend the next twenty minutes transfixed by his grace in the water, enjoying what appears to be his natural talent for surfing.
But then he looks up and spots me. He’s straddling his board, in a lull between waves. I can see his grin even from this distance, and I’m mortified to have been caught watching him. He, however, seems amused as he raises a hand and flashes the hang loose sign.
I finally turn away, wondering what I was doing staring at this surfer boy.”

Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio was such a fun book to read. I love the ‘Rogue’ series, but this is a little bit different, and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it as much as the previous books- but HOW WRONG I was. This has turned out to be my favourite read of hers, ever!!!! (well so far, anyway)
It was a little slow to get going, for me- but not too far in the pace picked up and things started to get very interesting. I ended up staying up well past bedtime, just so I could finish the story and know how it all played out. I really needed to know if Surfer Boy gets his Hula Girl!
The story is a sweet vacation fling with a bit of a twist- it is flirty, fun, and romantic- with just enough drama and angst to keep things interesting. The chemistry between Ava and Ford was enough to steam up the screen on my kindle- and made for some sizzling reading. It is set against the picturesque backdrop of Hawaii, as well as the taking us to the concrete jungle of LA.
I loved Ford and Ava and I was rooting for them right from the moment they laid eyes on one- another. They really were so perfect for each other, even though them seemed such opposites to begin with. I loved their story- and Hula Girl will be hard to beat. So now I am looking forward to seeing what Ms. Ward Cosio comes up with next, just to see if she can top this!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Ms. Ward Cosio!

Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio was my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. Ford and Ava’s story started as a Vacation Romance full of steamy licking tequila turned into Fake Engagement that was a page-turner wanting to know what was going to happen next.

Lara’s writing was so detailed that you would have thought the island of Maui was a character. Every character in this book was easy to love or hate and get very attached to what was going on with them. I was ready to book a trip just so I could meet a sexy surfer boy and be his hula girl.

Hula Girl by Lara Ward Cosio is another fantastic book by an amazing author. If you haven’t read anything by Lara before then you need to rectify that immediately and this book is perfect to do it with.
I loved these characters from the moment I started reading about them. At first glance it really seemed like they had nothing in common however once you delved into them a bit deeper you started to see such a strong connection.
The author has done an amazing job of creating a deep and interesting book. Her writing style always captivates me and hooks my attention. This is definitely a must read book.
