Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Carly Vogler

Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen is story number three in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is a fun paranormal love story that follows Crimson Oliver and Mike Cortez on their action packed journey to save Crimson’s soul.

Crimson isn’t a bad person, but she’s a terrible witch. She’s always in some sort of trouble and can’t seem to get her spells to work out correctly. When her powers are at stake and she needs help, she gets in too deep. With her soul promised to the devil, can she and Mike out
smart Satan, or will she be stuck forever?

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Amanda DelFemine

Crimson may not be the best witch but she is a great person. She falls for a half demon half human that has a contract with the devil. She jokingly sells her soul to the devil and its a story of how she tries to get out of it. I absolutely loved the style of Pulkinens writing and this book really made me laugh out loud with all the crazy mishaps. Lifes a Witch is truly super entertaining and a quick listen. I did not want it to be over and I cant wait to listen on.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Mrs R

I am really enjoying this series. This is book 3, and although characters appear from previous books, you don’t need to have read them to enjoy this one.

Crimson is a witch with wonky magic and it just keeps getting her into trouble. Demon Mike has had his eye on Crimson for a while but hasn’t had the chance to act on it.

This romcom was just so lighthearted and easy to read, that I couldn’t help but enjoy it.

Holly Jackson is amazing at the narration, she just brings the characters to life. Using slightly different voices so you know who is talking.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Kerry Baker

Life’s A Witch Audio Book by Carrie Pulkinen is the third book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is one so the most entertaining series that I have read and this book is no exception. Crimson is one of those characters that is so memorable and entertaining I could listen to this book just for her. She was brilliant when I was reading the book but listening to it she just came alive. I could picture her so much better and felt like you really got to feel her personality. I could so easily imagine everything from her mannerisms to try the way she spoke. For me this audio book was all about her. I am so glad that it is the same narrator for this book as it was was for the previous. She does such a great job of bringing the book to life and really makes it so easy to listen to. This is another brilliant success for one of my new favourite authors.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen was a sexy and funny read! This story has a very light feel and also is a hot listen. There is conflict and I love that we’ve expanded the supernatural and focus on demons too. I absolutely love Crimson and Mike, their energy just flows through the story. It is very difficult to ignore their connection. I really enjoyed the narrator and pace, the audible version of this book just had me hooked.

Life’s a Witch: A Frightfully Fun Paranormal Romantic Comedy is the third book in the New Orleans Nocturnes Series by Carrie Pulkinen. This series is so delightfully funny, with witty dialogue and amazing characters. I think this book is my new favorite. Crimson and Mike have such chemistry and the stuff they get into is hilarious. Ms. Pulkinen’s writing is so descriptive it really makes the characters pop. If you like fast paced fun paranormal romance I would highly recommend this series.

Hollie Jackson has narrated the first three books in this series, and does a wonderful job. Her voice is smooth and easy on the ears. She really brings the characters to life.

5 Stars

Third book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. OMG One paragraph in and I was hooked! I loved everything about this audiobook. Crimson Oliver the “bad” witch just can’t seem to get it together.  Things just seem to go from bad to worse for her until she meets her demon Mike, the Devil’s Advocate.

Faced with the threat of having her powers forever bound, Crimson hastily challenges the Head Witch to a battle of magic that she can’t possibly win with her current abilities. Enter Mike, the recovering Devil’s Advocate. Crimson and Mike have undeniable chemistry and are just starting to delve into their relationship when Mike accidentally makes a deal with Crimson to sell her soul to the devil.

This book has me seeking out other books by Carrie Pulkinen!  You won’t be disappointed.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) AUDIO BOOK by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Bobbi Wagner

I enjoyed listening to this audio.  The narrator’s voice made the story easy to listen too.  They brought life to the story and I could easily see the characters.   I enjoyed them, I found myself easily connecting to them. In this story Crimson’s spells always go bad. When the high priestess threatens to bind her powers, her reaction is to challenge her to a battle that she doesn’t have a chance to win. What will happen when a demon named Mike makes a deal that could change everything for Crimson?  The characters had great chemistry and I enjoyed them.  I highly recommend this audio, it is worth the listen too.

Four Stars

I couldn’t stop laughing through this whole story. The characters were hilarious and well written especially Crimson. From the first page she had me laughing. Her filter is missing. She is a clumsy witch but it hasn’t stopped her from being who she is. The demon anonymous was funny. I couldn’t help but to enjoy this story. Mike is an interesting character as well. I have fun with this one and can’t wait to read more. It put a twist on the supernatural. In most stories you hear about the paranormal not interacting well together. Here it’s a beautiful grouping of diverse characters. Rosemary can suck my toe with her serious control issues. She just did too much for me. Overall a good read with it serious moments but still making you laugh.

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind with her storytelling. This is the third book of the New Orleans Nocturnes series. You should read these books in order to understand what is going on. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. The storyline kept me so addicted I read the book all the way through in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this awesome series.

Crimson Oliver was a bad witch but not like you think. She was bad because every spell she does goes wrong. Crimson gets into some trouble that brings her to the high priestess and she ends up challenging her into a magic battle. She knows there is no way she is going to win but she is going to give it her all. Crimson looks for some help and she runs into a hot demon, Mike Cortez. She feels a connection to him that she has never felt before but she was told by her dad to stay away from demons. Crimson is starting to get to know Mike but she gets them both into a deal that only the devil himself can get them out of. Will Crimson be able to save her soul or will will this be a deal she can’t get out of?

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Life’s a witch, what a perfect title to grab your attention.
Well, Carrie Pulkinen has, yet again, out done herself. She has, again, created another soul grabbing masterpiece.
Honestly, the amount of creativity and feels Carrie puts into her stories and characters leaves me completely speechless. It is more than just words on a page but a sense of realness and perfectly done story telling. This story had me on the edge of my seat, burying my face into my hands while I laughed and fanning myself.
But seriously – it yanks you in with a ride or die friendship, recovering demons that go to AA meetings, a ‘kind of’ witch that is more than just what she can or can not cast, a spontaneous lust turned into love… what more could you ask for?
You will not regret diving into this gem. My only warning is this story will grab you and hold you captive until the very last page.

Life’s a Witch: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the story of Crimson Oliver, a witch who just can’t catch a break with her magic and everytime she casts a spell, something goes wrong and Mike Cortez, a demon in rehabilitation who makes deals with the devil and owns a restaurant all at the same time.

The story starts with Crimson as she is about to go in front of the Council of Elders of her coven, which is in direct relation to her latest magical mishap. As the Council convenes and Rosemary takes her place as head priestess, she asks one of the other witches to read out the charges against Crimson which, if they are found to be true, will .end up with Crimson having her power bound and a life in exile away from other witches for the rest of her life and Crimson has no intention of letting that happen as she is not guilty of any of the charges and given the result of her questioning, it looks like that is exactly what will happen, that is until she invokes the goddess and the right to challenge the high priestess to a magic battle and the goddess deems that it shall go ahead, much to the amazement of the rest of the coven, especially Rosemary. It is decided that the two witches have one month to prepare for the challenge and the winner takes the role of High Priestess and the loser has their magic bound and must live in exile, but Crimson is sure that Rosemary only rules the coven without their respect and decides that there must be more to Rosemary than meets the eye and that she will both find out and win the challenge, all she has to do is practice, practice and practice some more.

Next we meet Mike as he is about to go to his meet with a group of like minded demons and remembers to take his angel cake with him, a way to sweeten the evening, he also knows that he is late with his freedom payment when his hand starts to burn and his spine tingle, a sign that the connection between himself and Satan is itching for it to be paid. As the meeting winds up, Mike heads back home, he passes a few guys who he could read and see whether there could be a deal to strike, but he figures that it isn’t worth sending Satan yet another testicle as payment of the deal, he already has enough of those! He also sensed no malice in them and as he normally only made deals with those who would already be damned anyway, he passes on the opportunity, however, as soon as he gets past the restaurant downstairs and into his apartment, Satan is waiting for him, although it isn’t because he is late on a payment it is because he has a job for him, he is in need of a new assistant as his jealous girlfriend has gotten rid of the last one and he will only accept a witch, if Mike can manage it, then he can be free, so now the only thing Mike has to do is find one.

As Crimson and Mike decide to go to the same bar for different reasons and unbeknown to the other, they run into each other and the old flame ignites between them, but soon they have to go their separate ways before one of them decides to do something they would regret. The pull between them is too strong and they decide that they want to see where things will lead, but there are mishaps along the way and when they talk about it, they accidentally make a deal and Mike manages to damn Crimson when she agrees to give her body and soul to the devil in exchange for winning the contest against Rosemary.

This is a romp from New Orleans to Hell and back again, but will everything turn out to plan, or will history repeat itself? The only way to find out is to join the ride and find out.

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

2020 has been unreal. And if you’re anything like me, reading (which was already a passion) has become a wonderful escape. And you can definitely do this with Carrie Pulkine’s New Orleans Nocturne series. Light, funny with a touch of angst and a good romance, Ms. Pulkinen has quickly become a go-to author for me.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) is my latest read by this fun author and I was not disappointed. Now, keep in mind, all of Ms. Pulkinen’s books can be read as stand-alone reads but you will get oh so much more enjoyable if you read the books in order. One of the good things about doing this is that Ms. Pulkinen keeps the story moving through each book. There aren’t any “story gaps” between the books (which is AWESOME). You’ll be engaged in each story from the very beginning and pick up more and more details and nuances in each book, so yeah, read them ALL. But back to my review…

This is the 3rd book in this fabulous series and follows Crimson and Mike. And what a pair these two are! The sparks fly between these two from the get-go (and it’s not because Crimson had another spell go awry, lol). I fell in love with these 2 characters so much! I think they might be my favorite couple in this series so far. The shenanigans and circumstances that these two find themselves in are so crazy but hysterical. And the romance – WHEW!! Steamy but sweet! With the added benefit of the wonderful sub-characters and great story, this book was a true pleasure to read. I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series!

Life’s a Witch is book 3 in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This series is hilarious and I highly recommend it. As you can see from the titles- the author has a great sense of humor. Super natural is not my normal genre of book, but I love these. They are about witches, vampires, demons, etc but they are not dark and super paranormal. They take place in New Orleans in modern day and are so light hearted and funny. This book focuses on Crimson and Mike, a witch and a devil’s advocate. It does contain Crimson’s friends, characters from the first two books, but their involvement is so minimal is it is not necessary to read in order. You could start with any book and go back and read the others if you wanted, or read as a stand alone. I love the author’s writing style, she is great at describing the situations and people. She also had me in near tears several times due to laughing so hard. There is a scene that takes place in the bathroom after too many bean burritos- I was dying! Highly recommend this series, its a quick read and it will keep you engaged from start to finish.

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Life’s a Witch: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars.

I have been reading this whole series and was so excited to see this book involved a Crimson and Mike. Crimson just seemed like the perfect character to have as a lead and I really wanted to learn more about Mike. This book excelled in doing both of these things. Crimson is a great, hilarious main character who I just love. She also is real and cares about others too. You learn why both of them have ended up in the situations they are in as well. This is not your normal, well I’m just a witch, or I’m just a demon. What this author does so well is to make her characters stand out from all the others in this genre. There stories are so unique, which makes this book astounding. Then there is the current situation Crimson finds herself in. As usual in these books, the author keeps you on your toes as to what happens next. You will also see previous characters make an appearance as well, which I always love.

If you are a fan of Paranormal Romantic Comedy, this book is for you. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the previous books too.

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Lianne Probert

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Life’s a witch is the third instalment in the series from Carrie Pulkinen. You could enjoy this as a stand alone read, but there are characters from the first two books so I find it more enjoyable having already read those. It just helps me set the scene better, plus I already like the characters.
The story picks up with Crimson, who we met in book two. Crimson is a witch who gets herself into trouble. And to be honest, she’s pretty rubbish at casting spells.
Mike Cortez (who sounds dreamy from the second you meet him) is a demon who currently has a pact with the devil. He’s attracted to Crimson but accidentally sells her soul to the devil. In the words of the author Mike wants to ‘date her, not damn her’, so he needs to fix this.
This series gets better with every book. It’s a fun, action packed and flirty read. Just what we all need at the minute. It’s refreshing to read a book in this genre that is funny and bright…and sexy! The characters are far from perfect, but all full of personality, both the women and the men are strong and sexy, you can’t help but like them
I would definitely recommend it.

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Life’s a Witch is the third book in Carrie Pulkinen’s paranormal series called New Orleans Nocturnes. Obviously we are strolling in NOLA among the supernatural and the way this story goes we go to the hell and back!
Life’s a Witch is the story of Crimson Oliver, a witch who fails at every single spell she has ever tried (as we learnt in book two), and Mike Cortez, hotter-than-hellfire recovering demon, devil’s advocate to make all your dreams to come true … so I guess you can already guess what is going to happen and knowing that every single one of Crimson’s spell goes wrong then why would this ‘dreams come true’ go right?
Carrie is bringing Jane and Sophie along on a ride that Crimson is taking in the Big Easy with a detour to hell and facing the High Priestess in a showdown of magic so there is no boring moment here and I truly hope that this is not the end to the series though we have had vampires, werewolves, demons, witches so who are we missing? Oh yeah, faeries so here you go, there is more of the supernatural world to come lay havoc on New Orleans!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The books in Carrie Pulkinen’s New Orleans Nocturnes series get better each book. Life’s a Witch is the third book in this series and even though it can be read alone I recommend reading it in order. Crimson is a witch, but she cannot do spells correctly they constantly backfire. SO, when she is threatened, what else do you do but challenge the person doing it. Unfortunately, this is someone who she cannot beat and ends up making a deal with Mike the demon. What will happen after she makes this deal? The way this author brings to life her stories and characters is amazing. I couldn’t help but fall in love with both Crimson and Mike and rooting for a hopefully HEA. I could not put this book down it was such an addictive read.

Seriously Carrie Pulkinen has done it again, with another brilliant addition to the New Orleans Nocturnes Series.

This time we follow Crimson’s story, just like the other two reads in this series, it’s fast-paced, captivating, funny and addictive to read. Carrie Pulkinen has a way with words and a way of connecting you to the characters. Connecting to these characters make you totally invested in their story and you can’t help but feel as though you are on their journey with them.

What I didn’t expect from this read was how brilliant the connection and chemistry was between Crimson & Mike. I love watching their connection grow and see them working together.
Another thing I loved was that we still got our main characters from the previous two books to make an appearance as secondary characters in this one, I love having follow-ups of them!

For this being a short read you are never lacking in the storyline, I absolutely loved this read and I love this series.

You do not want to miss it!

Life’s a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 3) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Life's a Witch (New Orleans Nocturnes, #3)Life’s a Witch by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another fun paranormal romantic comedy in Carrie Pulkinen’s ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series “Ride along on a journey from the Big Easy to hell and back again in this fast, steamy paranormal romantic comedy!” states the blurb, and I was not disappointed as that is exactly what I got.
Crimson Oliver is a bad witch, as in she can’t actually cast spells that work and following her latest spell that went awry the high priestess has threatened to bind Crimson’s powers and turn her human for good. Crimson challenges the high priestess to a magic battle which without a miracle she has no chance of winning. Demon Mike Cortez, who happens to be handsome and sexy is also a devil’s advocate who can make miracles happen, for a price of course. Luckily or unluckily for Crimson, Mike has had his eye on her for a while and he would like to date the seductive and sassy witch. Unfortunately Mike accidentally makes a deal which would condemn Crimson to a life of satanic servitude to Satan himself. The couple embark on an adventure to hell itself and back to outsmart the devil and save Crimson’s soul.
I enjoyed this fairly quick read which was packed full of romance, excitement, adventure, laugh out loud moments, plenty of sass from our heroine Crimson, and some steamy chemistry between her and Mike. I’ve enjoyed all three books in Pulkinen’s ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series and although there is some crossover of characters each one can be read as a standalone story.
