If you like books about politics and espionage then this is the book for you. Luke Raven heads a team called the Raven Group. Each member specializes in different areas from military, computers and ex spy agents. Their aim is to stop terrorists and war; saving the planet from world domination. Luke’s mission in Istanbul this time is on a more personal level. As luck would have it, Luke’s team seems to be at the wrong place at the right time. Something big is happening in Istanbul and they must figure it out before there are too many casualties. The consequences of certain actions that Luke has taken may change his life. For once he is uncertain and it’s not a position he likes being in.

This series just keeps getting better with each addition. The stories are filled with action and danger to keep you revitted to your seat. The author’s attention to details will have you understand and make you feel as if you are a part of the spy world. There are a couple of storylines in this book which the author has woven together perfectly. This is a definite must read.

The Istanbul Heist is the eighth intense instalment in the Code Raven series by Lynda Filler. I know I keep saying this, and I don’t know how Ms. Filler manages to up the ante with her writing every time-but it’s true, she does- and the series just seems to get better and better with each new instalment.

The Raven Group, a top-secret special ops team- are pulled into another action-packed mission that will test them on many different levels. This one involving a heist- with terrorists, secrets, danger, and hidden agendas- there is a lot at stake. Will the Raven team survive their trials? This is well worth the read to find out.
Even though each book could be read as a standalone and is a ‘new’ adventure in the series- there is a larger picture being woven in the background- so I highly recommend reading all the previous books before starting on this one- as knowing what happens previously will definitely enhance your reading experience of this book.
Another fantastic addition to the series- with plenty of action, danger, intrigue, drama, secrets, suspense, mystery, and intensity.

Thank you, Lynda Filler!

This is a fast paced story! It’s one of the things I enjoy about this series. Tons of action, wonderful friends and always a secret comes to light. This story revolves mostly around Luke, Samaar (his wife) and child Alice. Years have gone by and Alice is a teenager now but appears more mature. That isn’t the only storyline David and Rachel run Across an issue that the team is trying to figure out.

Overall this is a good solid story. Its I retesting to see how far and where these characters have spread their wings to.

THE ISTANBUL HEIST (CODE RAVEN SERIES Book 8) by LYNDA FILLER. I loved this book. Its was so engaging and kept me flipping pages like crazy. It’s a Code Raven book that is full of mystery and adventure. Its the story of a international Heist set in Instanbul so when Samaar and her teenage daughter Alice join Luke for a fun filled day of shopping. Alice being Alice befriends the assistant to one of the shop owners so when the heist happens he texts Alice who tells her mom. This heist involved several shops so of course the Raven group gets involved. The leader of the heist did not plan for that. Add in the teenage angst of Alice and you have a page turning mystery. I recommend reading these books in order because you will get so much more out of them. I have loved every book!

I have not read the adventures of the Raven group before, so when I flipped the first page of the book, I was pretty much bowled out by the introductions itself. Then the book jumped straight into action, with a massive heist being planned in Istanbul.
Samaar and Alice, Luke’s step daughter join Luke in Istanbul for a restful trip. When Luke was away, Alice befriends a shopkeeper’s assistant. And that night, there is a heist which happens in several shops in Istanbul, including the shop in question. The assistant texts Alice and the Raven group gets involved.
The story is action packed and I stayed up late night to finish the book. There is a parallel track on Luke also going on in the book, holding a deep secret by himself, which is equally intriguing. There are lies and twists, action and thrills. Sit back, and enjoy the roller-coaster ride.

I love this series and was really excited to read this newest instalment and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The author has definitely taken this series to another level with this new book – it was exciting, dangerous and so much more. She knows how to keep the reader’s attention mot just throughout her stories but throughout the series as a whole. The action started pretty, much straight away when Samaar and Alice arrive in Istanbul, I loved that I didn’t see things coming in this story at all – fantastic twists and turns! Although there is more than one story going on in this book it wasn’t confusing at all.
I would recommend reading this series in order- they are fantastic stories! I can’t wait for more from this author in the future!

The Istanbul Heist by Lynda Filler is the eighth book in the Code Raven series. This is a great addition to the series and has really continued the story well. There is a lot going on in this book which creates a tension and suspense about it. I was never quite sure which way the story might play out. It feels like you go on quite an adventure with the characters as they try to navigate a difficult situation. It isn’t very often that you find a series like this that can sustain so many books but this author has done it so well. Eight books in and I am still excited to see what is going to happen next.

I enjoyed this story. It is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. Her stories are full of action and her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. The characters are relatable and bring the story to life with their action. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by them. They kept the story engaging and fast paced. In this book, Luke is back in another mission, this one is a secret. Because of Luke’s actions things really start heating up. This is where the action really picks up and is hard to put down. You will want to see what happens to Luke by reading this book. He is a great character that I enjoyed from the beginning. I highly recommend this book.

It is fast paced and well written with many current day issues woven into these stories. Luke Raven is an amazing character and the whole Raven Group is full of very smart, brave and loyal warriors. THE ISTANBUL HEIST: Code Raven 8 by Lynda Filler. Oh yeah! Once again Lynda brings it and then some. Not that I would ever doubt her because I love this series. Lynda takes us on a journey and puts us the readers through our paces as she does the characters. I feel like I need a holiday after reading on of her books. You never know what to expect but you always know it is going to be good. Lynda is a vivid storyteller and her words make it easy for you to visualise it all right down to the smallest details.

With lots of secrets and lies, action and lots of thrills and spills and you won’t want to put it down. I mean who doesn’t like secret operatives and going on missions with the gang.

This is probably my favourite to date, but then again, I think I say that will all her book’s.

It is hard to believe that this is the eighth book in Lynda Filler’s Code Raven series. I personally recommend that new readers to this series start with the first book, because these thrilling adventures just build and build getting better and better with each novel. I personally loved this one and couldn’t put it down again, similar to all the rest. It is like visiting a favorite place with people you love when you delve into a Code Raven book every single time. In this one we get a lot of action and thriller feels following two different stories going and intercepting at the same time. The characters are relatable and fun to follow and you become so invested in them that it is hard to believe that this could not turn out good. I sure hope that we see more in the near future from Lynda Filler and my favorite series of hers!

When there is a heist, you don’t accept the Raven group to be there to investigate but what will they discover.

Luke has been sent on a mission to Istanbul and while he is there they discover something under the hum of the city.

Samaar and Alice decide to visit Luke while he away to get some R and R and shopping but when they befriend a shop keeper and get a call saying that there shop is being raided will that simple raid turn into much much more.

I loved the story and have always loved the relationship between the main characters, although this story features on Luke and them determining what is happening with the heist and the shop keeper they are also discovering things between their relationship and secrets. The story is full of action and is well written and flows really well. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

So be prepared to sit for the long haul. This is a full length novel. That will make you feel as though you are there. Pandemic and all that we are living with today. Only this story is full of action.
Luke Raven and his operatives from Raven Group are back in Istanbul. Where another secret mission is taking place. There is so much I could tell you, but I think it best for you to read this incredible high action novel. What is ahead for Luke Raven and his team. What is he hiding from Samaar? Who is behind these terrorist attacks? Will the family secrets shatter Luke and Samaar trust?

Lynda Filler has taken her readers to a different new captivated story. Her writing is smooth and full of interesting insights. I love the characters in this story. Even more the strong independent women, who insist on working side by side with their team. This is one story you won’t want to put down. One more detail you will want to read this series in order.

I was once again pulled right in and didn’t want to put it down. Samaar and her daughter Alice come to Instanbul to spend time with Luke. They are looking forward to a little vacation. Alice meets someone that works in one of the shops they went to and they become friends. When someone breaks into the shop he calls Alice for help. This is where things start taking a thrilling twist with lots of action.

BOOM! Another perfect addition to one of my favorite series ever! Might just be my favorite yet! That’s not easy to say because I think every one of them is my favorite when I hit the last page. LOL

There are actually two stories going on in this book, giving me action, suspense, danger, twists, secrets, family, and the feeling of actually being in the absolutely beautiful city of Istanbul and the mountains of Turkey.

I love these characters so so much, I’m completely invested in this series and can not wait for the next. Samaar, Luke, and Alice’s future is completely different than they had planned and I can not wait to see how this all plays out. I’m excited about the addition of Ali and even Kral and am trying so hard not to go into the storyline, you really must read this but..in order to get the whole impact of this story you really in my opinion need to read them all in order.

This author is with no doubt one of my favorites ever. Every book she comes out with is spot on perfection. They flow so well that I read every one of them in one sitting because I can literally not put them down. She always takes me on journeys that I never knew I wanted and has made me look up places because I want to see what I’m visualizing while reading. Her careful attention to detail leaving me with no questions or confusion is something I appreciate, these are just a few of the reasons she’s a favorite!

I can not wait to reread this entire series and will own every one of them, because there is a place on my bookshelf waiting for them.

Loved Loved Loved it!!

Cafe Confidential: An unfiltered and intimate memoir was written by Author Lynda Filler about herself. This is a new genre for me. I don’t usually read memoirs. This book covers Lynda’s many travels around the world, as well as touches on her relationships with her friends, family, and several men over her lifetime. Lynda was a good girl from Canada who followed the rules in her younger years. Lynda only took time off from being a working woman to bring her children into the world and she finds herself missing something in life. She finds out she has a heart condition that may take her life, and she decides she needs to live her life. She packs the only belongings she wants to own into a suitcase, sells and liquidates everything she owns, and sets off on an adventure. I found this book to be a slow-paced read. I enjoyed it chapter by chapter over the course of a week. I found I learned a lot about people of different countries, as well as a great amount about those countries themselves. Unfortunately, I felt like there was a lot of missed opportunities to use more colorful writing to describe many of the places she had visited. I also felt like I didn’t connect with Lynda on a personal level. The story felt more matter of fact than I would have liked. However, overall, I give this story 4 stars!

This is the story of author Lynda Filler and her journey around the world, it is a journal full of experiences, photographs and love. The chapters start with a quote from either Mark Jenkins, Rui Miguel or Rumi, this quote relates to the content of each chapter and is an invitation to find out why this quote is the one which has been specifically chosen.

This memoir starts in a place of sadness and grief, over the impending loss of a lover and friend, but also the companionship of a surprise message from a reviewer of her books and a phone call which would change the course of her life. Through the development of a close friendship with this reviewer over a year, Lynda decided that she wanted to meet the person behind the voice, this would mean travelling halfway across the world to India, so to make an adventure out of it Lynda decided to sell or give away everything that wouldn’t fit into a wheeled suitcase and a rucksack and buy a one way ticket to travel the world.

It is this journey where Lynda discovers a love for the cities she visits and the people she meets along the way to her final destination, but where this will be is a mystery to Lynda, from Mexico toTurkey via France, India, Israel and Malaysia on the search for love, but will it be with the one person she wants it from, or will it be from the people she meets on the way there.

The book makes this feel like a shared experience which enriches your view of the world and makes you want to visit the same places yourself one day, with rich descriptions accompanied by beautiful photographs it is a treat to read.

This is a story of chances taken, memories made and experiences all linked together through love and happiness, even where there is sadness, the happiness to which it can lead is always shown as well. A beautiful read which shows that it is never too late to go on an adventure.

This was an inspiring and empowering read, and it really is a unfiltered and intimate memoir by author Lynda Filler. Honestly written, you can feel Lynda’s personal connection to the story and her emotions really come through in her narrative, making this a totally immersive and engaging read. A heartwarming and positive memoir of a very brave and adventurous lady, who literally sold everything and bought a one way ticket around the world. Knowing there was no turning back she looked forward and took on the world. I love the title of this memoir, ‘Café Confidential’, that alone had me hooked and then as Lynda shared her adventures and her secrets with us, the reader, I was gripped. I felt as though I was there with her, seeing, smelling, touching, tasting, and feeling what she did as she traveled to France, India, Israel, Malaysia, and Turkey. Lynda’s aim was to, “Perhaps I can convince you that it’s never too late to follow your dreams”, and she has definitely done that for me. The added coloured photos dotted throughout the book really added to the whole experience for me as I could picture where she was and along with her wonderfully detailed narrative the book just flowed. This memoir strayed with me long after I had finished reading it and I have gone back and read particular parts again.

This books is the authors memoir about her adventures throughout the world and the people she meets along the way.
It was amazing to read of her brave journey, leaving everything behind her for this once in a lifetime experience. It was really inspiring as for some people they would never be able to do that.

The way the author writes is beautiful describing all the places and people she meets makes you feel like you are on the journey with her. And the pictures that are in the book are a nice touch.

Cafe Confidential: an unfiltered and intimate memoir is not something I would normally read. It is the first I have read by Lynda Filler, but it sounded interesting. It is written in an auto biographical format, in recent years (she talks about Covid toward the end). The author tells her story of how she sold everything and travelled the world. She tells us of the events leading up to it, as well as people she meets along the way. That alone is what pulled me in. The intrigue to read what would make someone sell everything and live out of a suitcase while travelling the middle east. Where did she go, what did she see, who did she meet. While I don’t know most of the places, it was fascinating to read this non-fiction story. She talks about her other books within this memoir, and I want to try one to see how it is. Her writing style is good. It draws you in and make you want to learn about this complete stranger. She is brutally honest and holds nothing back. She isn’t a famous icon, so who cares? Right? Wrong. Its such an interesting story and she shares pictures and facts about people she meets and relationships. There is a lot of insight and makes you reconsider your own life. It is a great story and I recommend it, even if you don’t normally read this sort of book. I don’t, but I’m glad I did.

This book was interesting to me. Being it was a memoir, I was not sure what to have expected. This book is not my first book but Lynda Filler but I really enjoyed the adventure. The details are amazing as I could see exactly what she was describing. The cities are beautiful. To be honest, I have often thought about selling everything and traveling around the world. I did follow the character on her journey. If you are looking for an adventure without leaving your home this book is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
